Ash-Shu'ara 26:1
طسٓمٓ
Tâ-Sîn-Mîm.
Ta, Seen, Meem
Ash-Shu'ara 26:2
تِلۡكَ ءَايَٰتُ ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ ٱلۡمُبِينِ
Voici les versets du Livre parfaitement clair.
These are the verses of the clear Book
Ash-Shu'ara 26:3
لَعَلَّكَ بَٰخِعٞ نَّفۡسَكَ أَلَّا يَكُونُواْ مُؤۡمِنِينَ
Tu vas peut-être te consumer de tristesse devant leur refus obstiné d’embrasser la foi.
Perhaps, [O Muhammad], you would kill yourself with grief that they will not be believers
Ash-Shu'ara 26:4
إِن نَّشَأۡ نُنَزِّلۡ عَلَيۡهِم مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ ءَايَةٗ فَظَلَّتۡ أَعۡنَٰقُهُمۡ لَهَا خَٰضِعِينَ
Or, si Nous le voulions, Nous ferions descendre du ciel un signe qui leur ferait courber l’échine.
If We willed, We could send down to them from the sky a sign for which their necks would remain humbled
Ash-Shu'ara 26:5
وَمَا يَأۡتِيهِم مِّن ذِكۡرٖ مِّنَ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ مُحۡدَثٍ إِلَّا كَانُواْ عَنۡهُ مُعۡرِضِينَ
Aucune nouvelle révélation du Tout Miséricordieux ne leur est transmise sans qu’ils ne s’en détournent
And no revelation comes to them anew from the Most Merciful except that they turn away from it
Ash-Shu'ara 26:6
فَقَدۡ كَذَّبُواْ فَسَيَأۡتِيهِمۡ أَنۢبَـٰٓؤُاْ مَا كَانُواْ بِهِۦ يَسۡتَهۡزِءُونَ
en criant au mensonge. Ils subiront donc un jour les conséquences de leurs moqueries.
For they have already denied, but there will come to them the news of that which they used to ridicule
Ash-Shu'ara 26:7
أَوَلَمۡ يَرَوۡاْ إِلَى ٱلۡأَرۡضِ كَمۡ أَنۢبَتۡنَا فِيهَا مِن كُلِّ زَوۡجٖ كَرِيمٍ
N’observent-ils pas la terre et la grande variété de plantes, d’une grande utilité et agréables à regarder, que Nous y faisons pousser ?
Did they not look at the earth - how much We have produced therein from every noble kind
Ash-Shu'ara 26:8
إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَةٗۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكۡثَرُهُم مُّؤۡمِنِينَ
Voilà assurément un signe, mais la plupart d’entre eux ne sont pas croyants.
Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers
Ash-Shu'ara 26:9
وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلۡعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
Ton Seigneur, en vérité, est le Tout-Puissant, le Très Miséricordieux.
And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful
Ash-Shu'ara 26:10
وَإِذۡ نَادَىٰ رَبُّكَ مُوسَىٰٓ أَنِ ٱئۡتِ ٱلۡقَوۡمَ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ
Ton Seigneur appela un jour Moïse : « Va trouver le peuple impie,
And [mention] when your Lord called Moses, [saying], "Go to the wrongdoing people
Ash-Shu'ara 26:11
قَوۡمَ فِرۡعَوۡنَۚ أَلَا يَتَّقُونَ
le peuple de Pharaon. Ces gens ne vont-ils pas Me redouter ? »
The people of Pharaoh. Will they not fear Allah
Ash-Shu'ara 26:12
قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّيٓ أَخَافُ أَن يُكَذِّبُونِ
Moïse dit : « J’ai peur, Seigneur, d’être traité d’imposteur,
He said, "My Lord, indeed I fear that they will deny me
Ash-Shu'ara 26:13
وَيَضِيقُ صَدۡرِي وَلَا يَنطَلِقُ لِسَانِي فَأَرۡسِلۡ إِلَىٰ هَٰرُونَ
d’être affligé par leur réaction et que ma langue soit embarrassée. Veuille donc associer Aaron à ma mission.
And that my breast will tighten and my tongue will not be fluent, so send for Aaron
Ash-Shu'ara 26:14
وَلَهُمۡ عَلَيَّ ذَنۢبٞ فَأَخَافُ أَن يَقۡتُلُونِ
Je crains aussi qu’ils ne cherchent à me tuer pour une faute qu’ils ont à me reprocher. »
And they have upon me a [claim due to] sin, so I fear that they will kill me
Ash-Shu'ara 26:15
قَالَ كَلَّاۖ فَٱذۡهَبَا بِـَٔايَٰتِنَآۖ إِنَّا مَعَكُم مُّسۡتَمِعُونَ
Le Seigneur dit : « Il n’en sera rien. Allez tous deux, assistés de Nos signes. Nous sommes avec vous et Nous écoutons.
[Allah] said, "No. Go both of you with Our signs; indeed, We are with you, listening
Ash-Shu'ara 26:16
فَأۡتِيَا فِرۡعَوۡنَ فَقُولَآ إِنَّا رَسُولُ رَبِّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ
Allez trouver Pharaon et dites-lui que vous êtes envoyés par le Seigneur de la Création,
Go to Pharaoh and say, 'We are the messengers of the Lord of the worlds
Ash-Shu'ara 26:17
أَنۡ أَرۡسِلۡ مَعَنَا بَنِيٓ إِسۡرَـٰٓءِيلَ
et qu’il doit laisser partir avec vous les fils d’Israël. »
[Commanded to say], "Send with us the Children of Israel
Ash-Shu'ara 26:18
قَالَ أَلَمۡ نُرَبِّكَ فِينَا وَلِيدٗا وَلَبِثۡتَ فِينَا مِنۡ عُمُرِكَ سِنِينَ
Pharaon dit alors à Moïse : « Ne t’avons-nous pas élevé chez nous tout petit ? N’as-tu pas vécu parmi nous plusieurs années de ta vie ?
[Pharaoh] said, "Did we not raise you among us as a child, and you remained among us for years of your life
Ash-Shu'ara 26:19
وَفَعَلۡتَ فَعۡلَتَكَ ٱلَّتِي فَعَلۡتَ وَأَنتَ مِنَ ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ
Mais, en ingrat que tu es, tu as commis le méfait que tu sais. »
And [then] you did your deed which you did, and you were of the ungrateful
Ash-Shu'ara 26:20
قَالَ فَعَلۡتُهَآ إِذٗا وَأَنَا۠ مِنَ ٱلضَّآلِّينَ
Moïse se justifia : « Au moment où je l’ai commis, j’étais encore ignorant.
[Moses] said, "I did it, then, while I was of those astray
Ash-Shu'ara 26:21
فَفَرَرۡتُ مِنكُمۡ لَمَّا خِفۡتُكُمۡ فَوَهَبَ لِي رَبِّي حُكۡمٗا وَجَعَلَنِي مِنَ ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِينَ
Craignant vos représailles, j’ai pris la fuite. Mon Seigneur m’a alors fait don de la sagesse et m’a choisi pour être l’un de Ses Messagers.
So I fled from you when I feared you. Then my Lord granted me wisdom and prophethood and appointed me [as one] of the messengers
Ash-Shu'ara 26:22
وَتِلۡكَ نِعۡمَةٞ تَمُنُّهَا عَلَيَّ أَنۡ عَبَّدتَّ بَنِيٓ إِسۡرَـٰٓءِيلَ
Comment peux-tu me rappeler cette faveur, alors que tu as réduit en esclavage les fils d’Israël ? »
And is this a favor of which you remind me - that you have enslaved the Children of Israel
Ash-Shu'ara 26:23
قَالَ فِرۡعَوۡنُ وَمَا رَبُّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ
« Qui est donc, dit Pharaon, ce Seigneur de la Création ? »
Said Pharaoh, "And what is the Lord of the worlds
Ash-Shu'ara 26:24
قَالَ رَبُّ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَمَا بَيۡنَهُمَآۖ إِن كُنتُم مُّوقِنِينَ
« Le Seigneur des cieux, de la terre et de ce qui se trouve entre eux, si vous avez quelque certitude », répondit Moïse.
[Moses] said, "The Lord of the heavens and earth and that between them, if you should be convinced
Ash-Shu'ara 26:25
قَالَ لِمَنۡ حَوۡلَهُۥٓ أَلَا تَسۡتَمِعُونَ
S’adressant à son entourage, Pharaon dit : « Avez-vous bien entendu ? »
[Pharaoh] said to those around him, "Do you not hear
Ash-Shu'ara 26:26
قَالَ رَبُّكُمۡ وَرَبُّ ءَابَآئِكُمُ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ
Moïse poursuivit : « Il est votre Seigneur et celui de vos ancêtres les plus éloignés. »
[Moses] said, "Your Lord and the Lord of your first forefathers
Ash-Shu'ara 26:27
قَالَ إِنَّ رَسُولَكُمُ ٱلَّذِيٓ أُرۡسِلَ إِلَيۡكُمۡ لَمَجۡنُونٞ
Pharaon dit : « Ce Messager qui vous est envoyé a perdu toute raison. »
[Pharaoh] said, "Indeed, your 'messenger' who has been sent to you is mad
Ash-Shu'ara 26:28
قَالَ رَبُّ ٱلۡمَشۡرِقِ وَٱلۡمَغۡرِبِ وَمَا بَيۡنَهُمَآۖ إِن كُنتُمۡ تَعۡقِلُونَ
Moïse reprit : « Il est le Seigneur du Levant, du Couchant et de ce qui se trouve entre eux, si vous êtes en mesure de comprendre. »
[Moses] said, "Lord of the east and the west and that between them, if you were to reason
Ash-Shu'ara 26:29
قَالَ لَئِنِ ٱتَّخَذۡتَ إِلَٰهًا غَيۡرِي لَأَجۡعَلَنَّكَ مِنَ ٱلۡمَسۡجُونِينَ
Pharaon dit : « Si tu adoptes une autre divinité que moi, je te ferai jeter en prison. »
[Pharaoh] said, "If you take a god other than me, I will surely place you among those imprisoned
Ash-Shu'ara 26:30
قَالَ أَوَلَوۡ جِئۡتُكَ بِشَيۡءٖ مُّبِينٖ
Moïse dit : « Même si je t’apportais une preuve irréfutable ? »
[Moses] said, "Even if I brought you proof manifest
Ash-Shu'ara 26:31
قَالَ فَأۡتِ بِهِۦٓ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ
« Apporte-la donc, si ce que tu dis est vrai », répondit Pharaon.
[Pharaoh] said, "Then bring it, if you should be of the truthful
Ash-Shu'ara 26:32
فَأَلۡقَىٰ عَصَاهُ فَإِذَا هِيَ ثُعۡبَانٞ مُّبِينٞ
Moïse jeta alors son bâton qui se transforma manifestement en un serpent immense.
So [Moses] threw his staff, and suddenly it was a serpent manifest
Ash-Shu'ara 26:33
وَنَزَعَ يَدَهُۥ فَإِذَا هِيَ بَيۡضَآءُ لِلنَّـٰظِرِينَ
Et il retira sa main qui apparut toute blanche à l’assistance.
And he drew out his hand; thereupon it was white for the observers
Ash-Shu'ara 26:34
قَالَ لِلۡمَلَإِ حَوۡلَهُۥٓ إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَسَٰحِرٌ عَلِيمٞ
Pharaon dit alors aux grands d’Egypte qui l’entouraient : « Voilà un habile magicien
[Pharaoh] said to the eminent ones around him, "Indeed, this is a learned magician
Ash-Shu'ara 26:35
يُرِيدُ أَن يُخۡرِجَكُم مِّنۡ أَرۡضِكُم بِسِحۡرِهِۦ فَمَاذَا تَأۡمُرُونَ
qui cherche, par ses artifices, à vous chasser de votre pays. Que proposez-vous donc ? »
He wants to drive you out of your land by his magic, so what do you advise
Ash-Shu'ara 26:36
قَالُوٓاْ أَرۡجِهۡ وَأَخَاهُ وَٱبۡعَثۡ فِي ٱلۡمَدَآئِنِ حَٰشِرِينَ
Ils répondirent : « Ne prends aucune décision concernant Moïse et son frère avant d’avoir dépêché à travers le pays des hommes chargés de rassembler
They said, "Postpone [the matter of] him and his brother and send among the cities gatherers
Ash-Shu'ara 26:37
يَأۡتُوكَ بِكُلِّ سَحَّارٍ عَلِيمٖ
et de convoquer devant toi tout ce que le pays compte d’habiles magiciens. »
Who will bring you every learned, skilled magician
Ash-Shu'ara 26:38
فَجُمِعَ ٱلسَّحَرَةُ لِمِيقَٰتِ يَوۡمٖ مَّعۡلُومٖ
Les magiciens furent donc rassemblés au jour et à l’heure fixés,
So the magicians were assembled for the appointment of a well-known day
Ash-Shu'ara 26:39
وَقِيلَ لِلنَّاسِ هَلۡ أَنتُم مُّجۡتَمِعُونَ
et l’on fit cette proclamation à la population : « Voulez-vous vous rassembler
And it was said to the people, "Will you congregate
Ash-Shu'ara 26:40
لَعَلَّنَا نَتَّبِعُ ٱلسَّحَرَةَ إِن كَانُواْ هُمُ ٱلۡغَٰلِبِينَ
afin que nous restions attachés à la religion des magiciens, s’ils sortent vainqueurs de cette confrontation. »
That we might follow the magicians if they are the predominant
Ash-Shu'ara 26:41
فَلَمَّا جَآءَ ٱلسَّحَرَةُ قَالُواْ لِفِرۡعَوۡنَ أَئِنَّ لَنَا لَأَجۡرًا إِن كُنَّا نَحۡنُ ٱلۡغَٰلِبِينَ
A leur arrivée, les magiciens demandèrent à Pharaon : « Serons-nous récompensés si nous sortons vainqueurs de cette confrontation ? »
And when the magicians arrived, they said to Pharaoh, "Is there indeed for us a reward if we are the predominant
Ash-Shu'ara 26:42
قَالَ نَعَمۡ وَإِنَّكُمۡ إِذٗا لَّمِنَ ٱلۡمُقَرَّبِينَ
« Oui et vous serez même intégrés à ma cour », répondit Pharaon.
He said, "Yes, and indeed, you will then be of those near [to me]
Ash-Shu'ara 26:43
قَالَ لَهُم مُّوسَىٰٓ أَلۡقُواْ مَآ أَنتُم مُّلۡقُونَ
Moïse leur lança : « Jetez ce que vous avez à jeter ! »
Moses said to them, "Throw whatever you will throw
Ash-Shu'ara 26:44
فَأَلۡقَوۡاْ حِبَالَهُمۡ وَعِصِيَّهُمۡ وَقَالُواْ بِعِزَّةِ فِرۡعَوۡنَ إِنَّا لَنَحۡنُ ٱلۡغَٰلِبُونَ
Les magiciens jetèrent leurs cordes et leurs bâtons en s’exclamant : « Par la puissance de Pharaon ! C’est nous qui sortirons vainqueurs de cette confrontation ! »
So they threw their ropes and their staffs and said, "By the might of Pharaoh, indeed it is we who are predominant
Ash-Shu'ara 26:45
فَأَلۡقَىٰ مُوسَىٰ عَصَاهُ فَإِذَا هِيَ تَلۡقَفُ مَا يَأۡفِكُونَ
Mais Moïse jeta à son tour son bâton qui se mit à engloutir leurs artifices.
Then Moses threw his staff, and at once it devoured what they falsified
Ash-Shu'ara 26:46
فَأُلۡقِيَ ٱلسَّحَرَةُ سَٰجِدِينَ
Se jetant face contre terre,
So the magicians fell down in prostration [to Allah]
Ash-Shu'ara 26:47
قَالُوٓاْ ءَامَنَّا بِرَبِّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ
les magiciens s’exclamèrent: « Nous croyons maintenant au Seigneur de la Création,
They said, "We have believed in the Lord of the worlds
Ash-Shu'ara 26:48
رَبِّ مُوسَىٰ وَهَٰرُونَ
Seigneur de Moïse et Aaron. »
The Lord of Moses and Aaron
Ash-Shu'ara 26:49
قَالَ ءَامَنتُمۡ لَهُۥ قَبۡلَ أَنۡ ءَاذَنَ لَكُمۡۖ إِنَّهُۥ لَكَبِيرُكُمُ ٱلَّذِي عَلَّمَكُمُ ٱلسِّحۡرَ فَلَسَوۡفَ تَعۡلَمُونَۚ لَأُقَطِّعَنَّ أَيۡدِيَكُمۡ وَأَرۡجُلَكُم مِّنۡ خِلَٰفٖ وَلَأُصَلِّبَنَّكُمۡ أَجۡمَعِينَ
Pharaon s’exclama : « Osez-vous croire en lui sans mon autorisation ? Voici certainement votre maître qui vous a initiés à la magie. Vous allez voir ! Je vais vous faire couper la main et le pied opposé, puis tous vous faire crucifier. »
[Pharaoh] said, "You believed Moses before I gave you permission. Indeed, he is your leader who has taught you magic, but you are going to know. I will surely cut off your hands and your feet on opposite sides, and I will surely crucify you all
Ash-Shu'ara 26:50
قَالُواْ لَا ضَيۡرَۖ إِنَّآ إِلَىٰ رَبِّنَا مُنقَلِبُونَ
Ils dirent : « Qu’importe puisque nous ferons retour à notre Seigneur
They said, "No harm. Indeed, to our Lord we will return
Ash-Shu'ara 26:51
إِنَّا نَطۡمَعُ أَن يَغۡفِرَ لَنَا رَبُّنَا خَطَٰيَٰنَآ أَن كُنَّآ أَوَّلَ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ
qui, nous l’espérons, nous pardonnera nos péchés pour avoir été les premiers à embrasser la foi. »
Indeed, we aspire that our Lord will forgive us our sins because we were the first of the believers
Ash-Shu'ara 26:52
۞وَأَوۡحَيۡنَآ إِلَىٰ مُوسَىٰٓ أَنۡ أَسۡرِ بِعِبَادِيٓ إِنَّكُم مُّتَّبَعُونَ
Nous avons révélé à Moïse de quitter le pays à la faveur de la nuit avec Mes serviteurs et qu’ils seraient poursuivis.
And We inspired to Moses, "Travel by night with My servants; indeed, you will be pursued
Ash-Shu'ara 26:53
فَأَرۡسَلَ فِرۡعَوۡنُ فِي ٱلۡمَدَآئِنِ حَٰشِرِينَ
Pharaon dépêcha en effet à travers le pays des hommes chargés de lever une armée.
Then Pharaoh sent among the cities gatherers
Ash-Shu'ara 26:54
إِنَّ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ لَشِرۡذِمَةٞ قَلِيلُونَ
Il dit : « Ces individus ne constituent qu’un groupe insignifiant
[And said], "Indeed, those are but a small band
Ash-Shu'ara 26:55
وَإِنَّهُمۡ لَنَا لَغَآئِظُونَ
qui ne cesse pourtant de nous irriter par ses agissements.
And indeed, they are enraging us
Ash-Shu'ara 26:56
وَإِنَّا لَجَمِيعٌ حَٰذِرُونَ
Mais nous restons, à son égard, particulièrement vigilants. »
And indeed, we are a cautious society
Ash-Shu'ara 26:57
فَأَخۡرَجۡنَٰهُم مِّن جَنَّـٰتٖ وَعُيُونٖ
Nous avons arraché Pharaon et les siens à leurs jardins et leurs sources,
So We removed them from gardens and springs
Ash-Shu'ara 26:58
وَكُنُوزٖ وَمَقَامٖ كَرِيمٖ
à leurs immenses trésors et à leurs demeures somptueuses.
And treasures and honorable station
Ash-Shu'ara 26:59
كَذَٰلِكَۖ وَأَوۡرَثۡنَٰهَا بَنِيٓ إِسۡرَـٰٓءِيلَ
Il en fut ainsi. Nous en avons fait hériter les fils d’Israël.
Thus. And We caused to inherit it the Children of Israel
Ash-Shu'ara 26:60
فَأَتۡبَعُوهُم مُّشۡرِقِينَ
Au lever du jour, Pharaon et son armée les avaient rattrapés.
So they pursued them at sunrise
Ash-Shu'ara 26:61
فَلَمَّا تَرَـٰٓءَا ٱلۡجَمۡعَانِ قَالَ أَصۡحَٰبُ مُوسَىٰٓ إِنَّا لَمُدۡرَكُونَ
Lorsque les deux groupes furent en vue l’un de l’autre, les compagnons de Moïse s’écrièrent : « Nous sommes rejoints ! »
And when the two companies saw one another, the companions of Moses said, "Indeed, we are to be overtaken
Ash-Shu'ara 26:62
قَالَ كَلَّآۖ إِنَّ مَعِيَ رَبِّي سَيَهۡدِينِ
« Certainement pas, répliqua Moïse, Mon Seigneur est avec moi, Il me sauvera. »
[Moses] said, "No! Indeed, with me is my Lord; He will guide me
Ash-Shu'ara 26:63
فَأَوۡحَيۡنَآ إِلَىٰ مُوسَىٰٓ أَنِ ٱضۡرِب بِّعَصَاكَ ٱلۡبَحۡرَۖ فَٱنفَلَقَ فَكَانَ كُلُّ فِرۡقٖ كَٱلطَّوۡدِ ٱلۡعَظِيمِ
Nous avons alors révélé à Moïse de frapper de son bâton la mer qui se fendit en deux, formant de part et d’autre comme deux immenses montagnes.
Then We inspired to Moses, "Strike with your staff the sea," and it parted, and each portion was like a great towering mountain
Ash-Shu'ara 26:64
وَأَزۡلَفۡنَا ثَمَّ ٱلۡأٓخَرِينَ
Nous avons laissé leurs ennemis s’approcher
And We advanced thereto the pursuers
Ash-Shu'ara 26:65
وَأَنجَيۡنَا مُوسَىٰ وَمَن مَّعَهُۥٓ أَجۡمَعِينَ
et sauvé Moïse et l’ensemble de ses compagnons,
And We saved Moses and those with him, all together
Ash-Shu'ara 26:66
ثُمَّ أَغۡرَقۡنَا ٱلۡأٓخَرِينَ
puis englouti sous les eaux leurs poursuivants.
Then We drowned the others
Ash-Shu'ara 26:67
إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَةٗۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكۡثَرُهُم مُّؤۡمِنِينَ
Voilà assurément un enseignement, mais la plupart d’entre eux ne sont pas croyants.
Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers
Ash-Shu'ara 26:68
وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلۡعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
Ton Seigneur, en vérité, est le Tout-Puissant, le Très Miséricordieux.
And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful
Ash-Shu'ara 26:69
وَٱتۡلُ عَلَيۡهِمۡ نَبَأَ إِبۡرَٰهِيمَ
Relate-leur également l’histoire d’Abraham
And recite to them the news of Abraham
Ash-Shu'ara 26:70
إِذۡ قَالَ لِأَبِيهِ وَقَوۡمِهِۦ مَا تَعۡبُدُونَ
qui dit un jour à son père et à son peuple : « Qu’adorez-vous donc ? »
When he said to his father and his people, "What do you worship
Ash-Shu'ara 26:71
قَالُواْ نَعۡبُدُ أَصۡنَامٗا فَنَظَلُّ لَهَا عَٰكِفِينَ
« Nous adorons, dirent-ils, des idoles auxquelles nous vouons un culte assidu. »
They said, "We worship idols and remain to them devoted
Ash-Shu'ara 26:72
قَالَ هَلۡ يَسۡمَعُونَكُمۡ إِذۡ تَدۡعُونَ
Abraham leur demanda : « Vous entendent-elles lorsque vous les invoquez ?
He said, "Do they hear you when you supplicate
Ash-Shu'ara 26:73
أَوۡ يَنفَعُونَكُمۡ أَوۡ يَضُرُّونَ
Vous sont-elles d’une quelconque utilité ou sont-elles en mesure de vous nuire ? »
Or do they benefit you, or do they harm
Ash-Shu'ara 26:74
قَالُواْ بَلۡ وَجَدۡنَآ ءَابَآءَنَا كَذَٰلِكَ يَفۡعَلُونَ
« Non, reconnurent-ils, mais nous avons hérité ces pratiques de nos ancêtres. »
They said, "But we found our fathers doing thus
Ash-Shu'ara 26:75
قَالَ أَفَرَءَيۡتُم مَّا كُنتُمۡ تَعۡبُدُونَ
Abraham répliqua : « Voyez-vous ces idoles que vous adorez,
He said, "Then do you see what you have been worshipping
Ash-Shu'ara 26:76
أَنتُمۡ وَءَابَآؤُكُمُ ٱلۡأَقۡدَمُونَ
imitant en cela vos ancêtres les plus éloignés,
You and your ancient forefathers
Ash-Shu'ara 26:77
فَإِنَّهُمۡ عَدُوّٞ لِّيٓ إِلَّا رَبَّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ
sachez que je les désavoue, adorant uniquement le Seigneur de la Création,
Indeed, they are enemies to me, except the Lord of the worlds
Ash-Shu'ara 26:78
ٱلَّذِي خَلَقَنِي فَهُوَ يَهۡدِينِ
qui m’a créé et me guide aujourd’hui,
Who created me, and He [it is who] guides me
Ash-Shu'ara 26:79
وَٱلَّذِي هُوَ يُطۡعِمُنِي وَيَسۡقِينِ
qui apaise ma faim et étanche ma soif,
And it is He who feeds me and gives me drink
Ash-Shu'ara 26:80
وَإِذَا مَرِضۡتُ فَهُوَ يَشۡفِينِ
qui, lorsque je tombe malade, me guérit,
And when I am ill, it is He who cures me
Ash-Shu'ara 26:81
وَٱلَّذِي يُمِيتُنِي ثُمَّ يُحۡيِينِ
qui me fera mourir avant de me rendre à la vie,
And who will cause me to die and then bring me to life
Ash-Shu'ara 26:82
وَٱلَّذِيٓ أَطۡمَعُ أَن يَغۡفِرَ لِي خَطِيٓـَٔتِي يَوۡمَ ٱلدِّينِ
et qui, je l’espère, me pardonnera mes fautes le Jour du jugement.
And who I aspire that He will forgive me my sin on the Day of Recompense
Ash-Shu'ara 26:83
رَبِّ هَبۡ لِي حُكۡمٗا وَأَلۡحِقۡنِي بِٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ
Veuille, Seigneur, me faire don de la sagesse et rejoindre les pieux croyants,
[And he said], "My Lord, grant me authority and join me with the righteous
Ash-Shu'ara 26:84
وَٱجۡعَل لِّي لِسَانَ صِدۡقٖ فِي ٱلۡأٓخِرِينَ
faire que mes vertus et mes mérites passent à la postérité,
And grant me a reputation of honor among later generations
Ash-Shu'ara 26:85
وَٱجۡعَلۡنِي مِن وَرَثَةِ جَنَّةِ ٱلنَّعِيمِ
faire de moi l’un des héritiers des jardins de la félicité,
And place me among the inheritors of the Garden of Pleasure
Ash-Shu'ara 26:86
وَٱغۡفِرۡ لِأَبِيٓ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ مِنَ ٱلضَّآلِّينَ
et pardonner à mon père qui est du nombre des égarés.
And forgive my father. Indeed, he has been of those astray
Ash-Shu'ara 26:87
وَلَا تُخۡزِنِي يَوۡمَ يُبۡعَثُونَ
Ne me couvre pas de honte le Jour où les hommes seront ressuscités,
And do not disgrace me on the Day they are [all] resurrected
Ash-Shu'ara 26:88
يَوۡمَ لَا يَنفَعُ مَالٞ وَلَا بَنُونَ
Jour où les richesses et les enfants ne seront d’aucune utilité
The Day when there will not benefit [anyone] wealth or children
Ash-Shu'ara 26:89
إِلَّا مَنۡ أَتَى ٱللَّهَ بِقَلۡبٖ سَلِيمٖ
et où seul celui qui viendra à Allah avec un cœur pur sera sauvé. »
But only one who comes to Allah with a sound heart
Ash-Shu'ara 26:90
وَأُزۡلِفَتِ ٱلۡجَنَّةُ لِلۡمُتَّقِينَ
Le Paradis sera alors rapproché de ceux qui furent pleins de piété
And Paradise will be brought near [that Day] to the righteous
Ash-Shu'ara 26:91
وَبُرِّزَتِ ٱلۡجَحِيمُ لِلۡغَاوِينَ
et le Brasier exposé à ceux qui s’étaient écartés de la vérité,
And Hellfire will be brought forth for the deviators
Ash-Shu'ara 26:92
وَقِيلَ لَهُمۡ أَيۡنَ مَا كُنتُمۡ تَعۡبُدُونَ
auxquels il sera lancé : « Où sont ces fausses divinités que vous adoriez
And it will be said to them, "Where are those you used to worship
Ash-Shu'ara 26:93
مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ هَلۡ يَنصُرُونَكُمۡ أَوۡ يَنتَصِرُونَ
en dehors d’Allah ? Peuvent-elles vous secourir ou elles-mêmes se sauver ? »
Other than Allah? Can they help you or help themselves
Ash-Shu'ara 26:94
فَكُبۡكِبُواْ فِيهَا هُمۡ وَٱلۡغَاوُۥنَ
Ils y seront alors précipités avec ceux qui les auront égarés,
So they will be overturned into Hellfire, they and the deviators
Ash-Shu'ara 26:95
وَجُنُودُ إِبۡلِيسَ أَجۡمَعُونَ
ainsi que les armées de Satan, sans que nul ne puisse y échapper.
And the soldiers of Iblees, all together
Ash-Shu'ara 26:96
قَالُواْ وَهُمۡ فِيهَا يَخۡتَصِمُونَ
Les mécréants jureront, se disputant dans le Brasier :
They will say while they dispute therein
Ash-Shu'ara 26:97
تَٱللَّهِ إِن كُنَّا لَفِي ضَلَٰلٖ مُّبِينٍ
« Par Allah ! Nous étions de toute évidence égarés
By Allah, we were indeed in manifest error
Ash-Shu'ara 26:98
إِذۡ نُسَوِّيكُم بِرَبِّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ
en vous mettant vous et le Seigneur de la Création sur un pied d’égalité.
When we equated you with the Lord of the worlds
Ash-Shu'ara 26:99
وَمَآ أَضَلَّنَآ إِلَّا ٱلۡمُجۡرِمُونَ
Ce sont les criminels, en réalité, qui nous ont détournés de la vérité.
And no one misguided us except the criminals
Ash-Shu'ara 26:100
فَمَا لَنَا مِن شَٰفِعِينَ
Nous n’avons ni intercesseur en mesure de nous sauver,
So now we have no intercessors
Ash-Shu'ara 26:101
وَلَا صَدِيقٍ حَمِيمٖ
ni ami sincère et dévoué.
And not a devoted friend
Ash-Shu'ara 26:102
فَلَوۡ أَنَّ لَنَا كَرَّةٗ فَنَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ
Si seulement il nous était donné de retourner sur terre, nous serions du nombre des croyants ! »
Then if we only had a return [to the world] and could be of the believers
Ash-Shu'ara 26:103
إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَةٗۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكۡثَرُهُم مُّؤۡمِنِينَ
Voilà assurément un enseignement, mais la plupart d’entre eux ne sont pas croyants.
Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers
Ash-Shu'ara 26:104
وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلۡعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
Ton Seigneur, en vérité, est le Tout-Puissant, le Très Miséricordieux.
And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful
Ash-Shu'ara 26:105
كَذَّبَتۡ قَوۡمُ نُوحٍ ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِينَ
Le peuple de Noé a aussi traité les Messagers d’imposteurs,
The people of Noah denied the messengers
Ash-Shu'ara 26:106
إِذۡ قَالَ لَهُمۡ أَخُوهُمۡ نُوحٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ
lorsque l’un des leurs, Noé, leur dit : « Ne craignez-vous pas le Seigneur ?
When their brother Noah said to them, "Will you not fear Allah
Ash-Shu'ara 26:107
إِنِّي لَكُمۡ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٞ
Je suis envoyé à vous en Messager digne de foi.
Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger
Ash-Shu'ara 26:108
فَٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ
Craignez donc Allah et obéissez-moi !
So fear Allah and obey me
Ash-Shu'ara 26:109
وَمَآ أَسۡـَٔلُكُمۡ عَلَيۡهِ مِنۡ أَجۡرٍۖ إِنۡ أَجۡرِيَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ
Je ne vous réclame en échange aucun salaire. Ma récompense incombe uniquement au Seigneur de l’univers.
And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds
Ash-Shu'ara 26:110
فَٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ
Craignez donc Allah et obéissez-moi ! »
So fear Allah and obey me
Ash-Shu'ara 26:111
۞قَالُوٓاْ أَنُؤۡمِنُ لَكَ وَٱتَّبَعَكَ ٱلۡأَرۡذَلُونَ
Ils répondirent : « Allons-nous croire en toi alors que tu n’es suivi que par la lie du peuple ? »
They said, "Should we believe you while you are followed by the lowest [class of people]
Ash-Shu'ara 26:112
قَالَ وَمَا عِلۡمِي بِمَا كَانُواْ يَعۡمَلُونَ
Noé répliqua : « Suis-je chargé de savoir ce qu’ils font ?
He said, "And what is my knowledge of what they used to do
Ash-Shu'ara 26:113
إِنۡ حِسَابُهُمۡ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّيۖ لَوۡ تَشۡعُرُونَ
Seul mon Seigneur peut les juger. Si seulement vous saviez !
Their account is only upon my Lord, if you [could] perceive
Ash-Shu'ara 26:114
وَمَآ أَنَا۠ بِطَارِدِ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ
Je ne chasserai certainement pas les croyants.
And I am not one to drive away the believers
Ash-Shu'ara 26:115
إِنۡ أَنَا۠ إِلَّا نَذِيرٞ مُّبِينٞ
Je suis simplement chargé de vous avertir clairement. »
I am only a clear warner
Ash-Shu'ara 26:116
قَالُواْ لَئِن لَّمۡ تَنتَهِ يَٰنُوحُ لَتَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلۡمَرۡجُومِينَ
Ils dirent : « Si tu ne mets pas un terme à tes agissements, Noé, tu seras certainement lapidé. »
They said, "If you do not desist, O Noah, you will surely be of those who are stoned
Ash-Shu'ara 26:117
قَالَ رَبِّ إِنَّ قَوۡمِي كَذَّبُونِ
Noé implora : « Seigneur ! Mon peuple me traite de menteur.
He said, "My Lord, indeed my people have denied me
Ash-Shu'ara 26:118
فَٱفۡتَحۡ بَيۡنِي وَبَيۡنَهُمۡ فَتۡحٗا وَنَجِّنِي وَمَن مَّعِيَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ
Tranche donc notre différend de manière définitive. Sauve-moi, ainsi que les croyants qui me suivent. »
Then judge between me and them with decisive judgement and save me and those with me of the believers
Ash-Shu'ara 26:119
فَأَنجَيۡنَٰهُ وَمَن مَّعَهُۥ فِي ٱلۡفُلۡكِ ٱلۡمَشۡحُونِ
Nous l’avons donc sauvé, ainsi que ses compagnons, dans l’Arche chargée d’hommes et d’animaux,
So We saved him and those with him in the laden ship
Ash-Shu'ara 26:120
ثُمَّ أَغۡرَقۡنَا بَعۡدُ ٱلۡبَاقِينَ
puis Nous avons englouti tous les autres sous les eaux.
Then We drowned thereafter the remaining ones
Ash-Shu'ara 26:121
إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَةٗۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكۡثَرُهُم مُّؤۡمِنِينَ
Voilà assurément un enseignement, mais la plupart d’entre eux ne sont pas croyants.
Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers
Ash-Shu'ara 26:122
وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلۡعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
Ton Seigneur, en vérité, est le Tout-Puissant, le Très Miséricordieux.
And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful
Ash-Shu'ara 26:123
كَذَّبَتۡ عَادٌ ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِينَ
Les ‘Ad ont également traité les Messagers d’imposteurs,
Aad denied the messengers
Ash-Shu'ara 26:124
إِذۡ قَالَ لَهُمۡ أَخُوهُمۡ هُودٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ
lorsque l’un des leurs, Houd, leur dit : « Ne craignez-vous pas le Seigneur ?
When their brother Hud said to them, "Will you not fear Allah
Ash-Shu'ara 26:125
إِنِّي لَكُمۡ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٞ
Je suis envoyé à vous en Messager digne de foi.
Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger
Ash-Shu'ara 26:126
فَٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ
Craignez donc Allah et obéissez-moi !
So fear Allah and obey me
Ash-Shu'ara 26:127
وَمَآ أَسۡـَٔلُكُمۡ عَلَيۡهِ مِنۡ أَجۡرٍۖ إِنۡ أَجۡرِيَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ
Je ne vous réclame en échange aucun salaire. Ma récompense incombe uniquement au Seigneur de l’univers.
And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds
Ash-Shu'ara 26:128
أَتَبۡنُونَ بِكُلِّ رِيعٍ ءَايَةٗ تَعۡبَثُونَ
Construisez-vous sur chaque hauteur un monument par simple divertissement ?
Do you construct on every elevation a sign, amusing yourselves
Ash-Shu'ara 26:129
وَتَتَّخِذُونَ مَصَانِعَ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تَخۡلُدُونَ
Bâtissez-vous d’imposants palais comme si vous deviez y vivre éternellement ?
And take for yourselves palaces and fortresses that you might abide eternally
Ash-Shu'ara 26:130
وَإِذَا بَطَشۡتُم بَطَشۡتُمۡ جَبَّارِينَ
Et lorsque vous êtes amenés à sévir, devez-vous le faire si cruellement ?
And when you strike, you strike as tyrants
Ash-Shu'ara 26:131
فَٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ
Craignez donc Allah et obéissez-moi !
So fear Allah and obey me
Ash-Shu'ara 26:132
وَٱتَّقُواْ ٱلَّذِيٓ أَمَدَّكُم بِمَا تَعۡلَمُونَ
Craignez Celui qui vous a dispensé ces bienfaits que vous connaissez parfaitement,
And fear He who provided you with that which you know
Ash-Shu'ara 26:133
أَمَدَّكُم بِأَنۡعَٰمٖ وَبَنِينَ
qui vous a attribué tant de troupeaux et d’enfants,
Provided you with grazing livestock and children
Ash-Shu'ara 26:134
وَجَنَّـٰتٖ وَعُيُونٍ
et accordé tant de vergers, de rivières et de sources.
And gardens and springs
Ash-Shu'ara 26:135
إِنِّيٓ أَخَافُ عَلَيۡكُمۡ عَذَابَ يَوۡمٍ عَظِيمٖ
Je crains que vous ne subissiez les tourments d’un jour terrible. »
Indeed, I fear for you the punishment of a terrible day
Ash-Shu'ara 26:136
قَالُواْ سَوَآءٌ عَلَيۡنَآ أَوَعَظۡتَ أَمۡ لَمۡ تَكُن مِّنَ ٱلۡوَٰعِظِينَ
Ils répondirent : « Il nous est parfaitement égal que tu nous avertisses ou non.
They said, "It is all the same to us whether you advise or are not of the advisors
Ash-Shu'ara 26:137
إِنۡ هَٰذَآ إِلَّا خُلُقُ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ
Nous nous contentons de suivre les traditions de nos ancêtres
This is not but the custom of the former peoples
Ash-Shu'ara 26:138
وَمَا نَحۡنُ بِمُعَذَّبِينَ
pour lesquelles nous ne saurions être sanctionnés. »
And we are not to be punished
Ash-Shu'ara 26:139
فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَأَهۡلَكۡنَٰهُمۡۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَةٗۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكۡثَرُهُم مُّؤۡمِنِينَ
En punition de leurs réfutations, Nous les avons anéantis. Voilà assurément un enseignement, mais la plupart d’entre eux ne sont pas croyants.
And they denied him, so We destroyed them. Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers
Ash-Shu'ara 26:140
وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلۡعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
Ton Seigneur, en vérité, est le Tout-Puissant, le Très Miséricordieux.
And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful
Ash-Shu'ara 26:141
كَذَّبَتۡ ثَمُودُ ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِينَ
Les Thamoud ont également traité les Messagers d’imposteurs,
Thamud denied the messengers
Ash-Shu'ara 26:142
إِذۡ قَالَ لَهُمۡ أَخُوهُمۡ صَٰلِحٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ
lorsque l’un des leurs, Sâlih, leur dit : « Ne craignez-vous pas le Seigneur ?
When their brother Salih said to them, "Will you not fear Allah
Ash-Shu'ara 26:143
إِنِّي لَكُمۡ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٞ
Je suis envoyé à vous en Messager digne de foi.
Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger
Ash-Shu'ara 26:144
فَٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ
Craignez donc Allah et obéissez-moi !
So fear Allah and obey me
Ash-Shu'ara 26:145
وَمَآ أَسۡـَٔلُكُمۡ عَلَيۡهِ مِنۡ أَجۡرٍۖ إِنۡ أَجۡرِيَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ
Je ne vous réclame en échange aucun salaire. Ma récompense incombe uniquement au Seigneur de l’univers.
And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds
Ash-Shu'ara 26:146
أَتُتۡرَكُونَ فِي مَا هَٰهُنَآ ءَامِنِينَ
Vous sera-t-il permis indéfiniment de jouir de cette sécurité
Will you be left in what is here, secure [from death]
Ash-Shu'ara 26:147
فِي جَنَّـٰتٖ وَعُيُونٖ
au milieu de vergers, de rivières et de sources,
Within gardens and springs
Ash-Shu'ara 26:148
وَزُرُوعٖ وَنَخۡلٖ طَلۡعُهَا هَضِيمٞ
de champs cultivés et de dattiers aux fruits délicats,
And fields of crops and palm trees with softened fruit
Ash-Shu'ara 26:149
وَتَنۡحِتُونَ مِنَ ٱلۡجِبَالِ بُيُوتٗا فَٰرِهِينَ
et de tailler habilement des demeures dans le roc ?
And you carve out of the mountains, homes, with skill
Ash-Shu'ara 26:150
فَٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ
Craignez donc Allah et obéissez-moi !
So fear Allah and obey me
Ash-Shu'ara 26:151
وَلَا تُطِيعُوٓاْ أَمۡرَ ٱلۡمُسۡرِفِينَ
N’écoutez pas ceux qui se livrent à tous les excès,
And do not obey the order of the transgressors
Ash-Shu'ara 26:152
ٱلَّذِينَ يُفۡسِدُونَ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَلَا يُصۡلِحُونَ
qui répandent le mal sur terre sans accomplir aucun bien. »
Who cause corruption in the land and do not amend
Ash-Shu'ara 26:153
قَالُوٓاْ إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُسَحَّرِينَ
Ils répondirent : « Tu as simplement perdu l’esprit, victime d’un sorcier.
They said, "You are only of those affected by magic
Ash-Shu'ara 26:154
مَآ أَنتَ إِلَّا بَشَرٞ مِّثۡلُنَا فَأۡتِ بِـَٔايَةٍ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ
Tu n’es qu’un être humain comme nous. Produis donc un miracle, si tu dis la vérité. »
You are but a man like ourselves, so bring a sign, if you should be of the truthful
Ash-Shu'ara 26:155
قَالَ هَٰذِهِۦ نَاقَةٞ لَّهَا شِرۡبٞ وَلَكُمۡ شِرۡبُ يَوۡمٖ مَّعۡلُومٖ
Il dit : « Voici une chamelle. L’eau du puits lui sera réservée certains jours et à vous les autres jours.
He said, "This is a she-camel. For her is a [time of] drink, and for you is a [time of] drink, [each] on a known day
Ash-Shu'ara 26:156
وَلَا تَمَسُّوهَا بِسُوٓءٖ فَيَأۡخُذَكُمۡ عَذَابُ يَوۡمٍ عَظِيمٖ
Gardez-vous de lui causer du tort sous peine d’être saisis par le châtiment d’un jour terrible. »
And do not touch her with harm, lest you be seized by the punishment of a terrible day
Ash-Shu'ara 26:157
فَعَقَرُوهَا فَأَصۡبَحُواْ نَٰدِمِينَ
Mais ils tuèrent la chamelle, crime qu’ils ne tardèrent pas à regretter.
But they hamstrung her and so became regretful
Ash-Shu'ara 26:158
فَأَخَذَهُمُ ٱلۡعَذَابُۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَةٗۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكۡثَرُهُم مُّؤۡمِنِينَ
Ils furent saisis par le châtiment. Voilà assurément un enseignement, mais la plupart d’entre eux ne sont pas croyants.
And the punishment seized them. Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers
Ash-Shu'ara 26:159
وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلۡعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
Ton Seigneur, en vérité, est le Tout-Puissant, le Très Miséricordieux.
And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful
Ash-Shu'ara 26:160
كَذَّبَتۡ قَوۡمُ لُوطٍ ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِينَ
Le peuple de Loth a également traité les Messagers d’imposteurs,
The people of Lot denied the messengers
Ash-Shu'ara 26:161
إِذۡ قَالَ لَهُمۡ أَخُوهُمۡ لُوطٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ
lorsque l’un des leurs, Loth, leur dit : « Ne craignez-vous pas le Seigneur ?
When their brother Lot said to them, "Will you not fear Allah
Ash-Shu'ara 26:162
إِنِّي لَكُمۡ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٞ
Je suis envoyé à vous en Messager digne de foi.
Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger
Ash-Shu'ara 26:163
فَٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ
Craignez donc Allah et obéissez-moi !
So fear Allah and obey me
Ash-Shu'ara 26:164
وَمَآ أَسۡـَٔلُكُمۡ عَلَيۡهِ مِنۡ أَجۡرٍۖ إِنۡ أَجۡرِيَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ
Je ne vous réclame en échange aucun salaire. Ma récompense incombe uniquement au Seigneur de l’univers.
And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds
Ash-Shu'ara 26:165
أَتَأۡتُونَ ٱلذُّكۡرَانَ مِنَ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ
Avez-vous des relations charnelles avec les hommes,
Do you approach males among the worlds
Ash-Shu'ara 26:166
وَتَذَرُونَ مَا خَلَقَ لَكُمۡ رَبُّكُم مِّنۡ أَزۡوَٰجِكُمۚ بَلۡ أَنتُمۡ قَوۡمٌ عَادُونَ
délaissant les femmes créées pour vous par votre Seigneur ? Vous êtes, en vérité, un peuple transgresseur ! »
And leave what your Lord has created for you as mates? But you are a people transgressing
Ash-Shu'ara 26:167
قَالُواْ لَئِن لَّمۡ تَنتَهِ يَٰلُوطُ لَتَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلۡمُخۡرَجِينَ
Ils dirent : « Si tu ne cesses pas, Loth, tu seras certainement banni de notre terre. »
They said, "If you do not desist, O Lot, you will surely be of those evicted
Ash-Shu'ara 26:168
قَالَ إِنِّي لِعَمَلِكُم مِّنَ ٱلۡقَالِينَ
Il répondit : « J’ai vos mœurs perverses en horreur »,
He said, "Indeed, I am, toward your deed, of those who detest [it]
Ash-Shu'ara 26:169
رَبِّ نَجِّنِي وَأَهۡلِي مِمَّا يَعۡمَلُونَ
avant d’implorer : « Veuille, Seigneur, me préserver, ainsi que les miens, du châtiment qui les attend pour prix de leurs agissements ! »
My Lord, save me and my family from [the consequence of] what they do
Ash-Shu'ara 26:170
فَنَجَّيۡنَٰهُ وَأَهۡلَهُۥٓ أَجۡمَعِينَ
Nous l’avons donc sauvé, ainsi que l’ensemble de sa famille,
So We saved him and his family, all
Ash-Shu'ara 26:171
إِلَّا عَجُوزٗا فِي ٱلۡغَٰبِرِينَ
excepté une vieille femme, vouée avec les autres à être exterminée.
Except an old woman among those who remained behind
Ash-Shu'ara 26:172
ثُمَّ دَمَّرۡنَا ٱلۡأٓخَرِينَ
Nous avons ensuite anéanti les impies,
Then We destroyed the others
Ash-Shu'ara 26:173
وَأَمۡطَرۡنَا عَلَيۡهِم مَّطَرٗاۖ فَسَآءَ مَطَرُ ٱلۡمُنذَرِينَ
foudroyés par une pluie de pierres. Pluie fatale à un peuple qui avait pourtant été averti !
And We rained upon them a rain [of stones], and evil was the rain of those who were warned
Ash-Shu'ara 26:174
إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَةٗۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكۡثَرُهُم مُّؤۡمِنِينَ
Voilà assurément un enseignement, mais la plupart d’entre eux ne sont pas croyants.
Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers
Ash-Shu'ara 26:175
وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلۡعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
Ton Seigneur, en vérité, est le Tout-Puissant, le Très Miséricordieux.
And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful
Ash-Shu'ara 26:176
كَذَّبَ أَصۡحَٰبُ لۡـَٔيۡكَةِ ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِينَ
Les adorateurs d’Al-Aykah ont également traité les Messagers d’imposteurs,
The companions of the thicket denied the messengers
Ash-Shu'ara 26:177
إِذۡ قَالَ لَهُمۡ شُعَيۡبٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ
lorsque Chou’ayb leur dit : « Ne craignez-vous pas le Seigneur ?
When Shu'ayb said to them, "Will you not fear Allah
Ash-Shu'ara 26:178
إِنِّي لَكُمۡ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٞ
Je suis envoyé à vous en Messager digne de foi.
Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger
Ash-Shu'ara 26:179
فَٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ
Craignez donc Allah et obéissez-moi !
So fear Allah and obey me
Ash-Shu'ara 26:180
وَمَآ أَسۡـَٔلُكُمۡ عَلَيۡهِ مِنۡ أَجۡرٍۖ إِنۡ أَجۡرِيَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ

Ash-Shu'ara 26:181
۞أَوۡفُواْ ٱلۡكَيۡلَ وَلَا تَكُونُواْ مِنَ ٱلۡمُخۡسِرِينَ
Faites bonne mesure, gardez-vous de tricher,
Give full measure and do not be of those who cause loss
Ash-Shu'ara 26:182
وَزِنُواْ بِٱلۡقِسۡطَاسِ ٱلۡمُسۡتَقِيمِ
et faites bon poids lorsque vous devez peser.
And weigh with an even balance
Ash-Shu'ara 26:183
وَلَا تَبۡخَسُواْ ٱلنَّاسَ أَشۡيَآءَهُمۡ وَلَا تَعۡثَوۡاْ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ مُفۡسِدِينَ
Ne lésez pas les autres dans leurs droits. Gardez-vous de répandre le mal sur terre.
And do not deprive people of their due and do not commit abuse on earth, spreading corruption
Ash-Shu'ara 26:184
وَٱتَّقُواْ ٱلَّذِي خَلَقَكُمۡ وَٱلۡجِبِلَّةَ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ
Craignez Celui qui vous a créés, vous et les générations passées. »
And fear He who created you and the former creation
Ash-Shu'ara 26:185
قَالُوٓاْ إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُسَحَّرِينَ
Ils répondirent : « Tu as simplement perdu l’esprit, victime d’un sorcier.
They said, "You are only of those affected by magic
Ash-Shu'ara 26:186
وَمَآ أَنتَ إِلَّا بَشَرٞ مِّثۡلُنَا وَإِن نَّظُنُّكَ لَمِنَ ٱلۡكَٰذِبِينَ
Tu n’es qu’un être humain comme nous. Nous ne voyons en toi qu’un imposteur.
You are but a man like ourselves, and indeed, we think you are among the liars
Ash-Shu'ara 26:187
فَأَسۡقِطۡ عَلَيۡنَا كِسَفٗا مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ
Fais donc tomber le ciel sur nous par pans entiers, si tu dis la vérité ! »
So cause to fall upon us fragments of the sky, if you should be of the truthful
Ash-Shu'ara 26:188
قَالَ رَبِّيٓ أَعۡلَمُ بِمَا تَعۡمَلُونَ
Il dit : « Mon Seigneur connaît parfaitement vos agissements. »
He said, "My Lord is most knowing of what you do
Ash-Shu'ara 26:189
فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَأَخَذَهُمۡ عَذَابُ يَوۡمِ ٱلظُّلَّةِۚ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ عَذَابَ يَوۡمٍ عَظِيمٍ
Pour l’avoir traité d’imposteur, ils furent saisis par le châtiment du jour de la Nuée, châtiment d’un jour terrifiant.
And they denied him, so the punishment of the day of the black cloud seized them. Indeed, it was the punishment of a terrible day
Ash-Shu'ara 26:190
إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَةٗۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكۡثَرُهُم مُّؤۡمِنِينَ
Voilà assurément un enseignement, mais la plupart d’entre eux ne sont pas croyants.
Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers
Ash-Shu'ara 26:191
وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلۡعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
Ton Seigneur, en vérité, est le Tout-Puissant, le Très Miséricordieux.
And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful
Ash-Shu'ara 26:192
وَإِنَّهُۥ لَتَنزِيلُ رَبِّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ
Le Coran est une révélation du Seigneur de la Création
And indeed, the Qur'an is the revelation of the Lord of the worlds
Ash-Shu'ara 26:193
نَزَلَ بِهِ ٱلرُّوحُ ٱلۡأَمِينُ
que l’Esprit fidèle a fait descendre
The Trustworthy Spirit has brought it down
Ash-Shu'ara 26:194
عَلَىٰ قَلۡبِكَ لِتَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُنذِرِينَ
dans ton cœur afin que tu sois de ceux qui avertissent l’humanité.
Upon your heart, [O Muhammad] - that you may be of the warners
Ash-Shu'ara 26:195
بِلِسَانٍ عَرَبِيّٖ مُّبِينٖ
Révélé en langue arabe d’une parfaite clarté,
In a clear Arabic language
Ash-Shu'ara 26:196
وَإِنَّهُۥ لَفِي زُبُرِ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ
il a été annoncé par les Ecritures qui l’ont précédé.
And indeed, it is [mentioned] in the scriptures of former peoples
Ash-Shu'ara 26:197
أَوَلَمۡ يَكُن لَّهُمۡ ءَايَةً أَن يَعۡلَمَهُۥ عُلَمَـٰٓؤُاْ بَنِيٓ إِسۡرَـٰٓءِيلَ
N’est-ce pas pour eux une preuve suffisante que les docteurs de la loi en soient informés ?
And has it not been a sign to them that it is recognized by the scholars of the Children of Israel
Ash-Shu'ara 26:198
وَلَوۡ نَزَّلۡنَٰهُ عَلَىٰ بَعۡضِ ٱلۡأَعۡجَمِينَ
Si Nous l’avions révélé à un homme ne parlant pas l’arabe
And even if We had revealed it to one among the foreigners
Ash-Shu'ara 26:199
فَقَرَأَهُۥ عَلَيۡهِم مَّا كَانُواْ بِهِۦ مُؤۡمِنِينَ
et que celui-ci l’eût récité devant eux, ils auraient mis en doute son authenticité.
And he had recited it to them [perfectly], they would [still] not have been believers in it
Ash-Shu'ara 26:200
كَذَٰلِكَ سَلَكۡنَٰهُ فِي قُلُوبِ ٱلۡمُجۡرِمِينَ
C’est ainsi que Nous avons fait pénétrer dans le cœur des criminels l’impiété.
Thus have We inserted disbelief into the hearts of the criminals
Ash-Shu'ara 26:201
لَا يُؤۡمِنُونَ بِهِۦ حَتَّىٰ يَرَوُاْ ٱلۡعَذَابَ ٱلۡأَلِيمَ
Ils ne croiront pas au Coran tant qu’ils ne verront pas le douloureux châtiment
They will not believe in it until they see the painful punishment
Ash-Shu'ara 26:202
فَيَأۡتِيَهُم بَغۡتَةٗ وَهُمۡ لَا يَشۡعُرُونَ
les saisir soudainement sans qu’ils ne s’y attendent.
And it will come to them suddenly while they perceive [it] not
Ash-Shu'ara 26:203
فَيَقُولُواْ هَلۡ نَحۡنُ مُنظَرُونَ
Ils s’écriront alors : « Un sursis peut-il nous être accordé ? »
And they will say, "May we be reprieved
Ash-Shu'ara 26:204
أَفَبِعَذَابِنَا يَسۡتَعۡجِلُونَ
Est-ce Notre châtiment qu’ils cherchent aujourd’hui à hâter ?
So for Our punishment are they impatient
Ash-Shu'ara 26:205
أَفَرَءَيۡتَ إِن مَّتَّعۡنَٰهُمۡ سِنِينَ
Si Nous les laissons jouir de la vie encore quelques années,
Then have you considered if We gave them enjoyment for years
Ash-Shu'ara 26:206
ثُمَّ جَآءَهُم مَّا كَانُواْ يُوعَدُونَ
avant que ne les emporte le châtiment dont ils sont menacés,
And then there came to them that which they were promised
Ash-Shu'ara 26:207
مَآ أَغۡنَىٰ عَنۡهُم مَّا كَانُواْ يُمَتَّعُونَ
à quoi leur auront bien servi toutes ces jouissances passées ?
They would not be availed by the enjoyment with which they were provided
Ash-Shu'ara 26:208
وَمَآ أَهۡلَكۡنَا مِن قَرۡيَةٍ إِلَّا لَهَا مُنذِرُونَ
Nous n’avons détruit aucune cité avant qu’un prophète ne lui soit envoyé
And We did not destroy any city except that it had warners
Ash-Shu'ara 26:209
ذِكۡرَىٰ وَمَا كُنَّا ظَٰلِمِينَ
afin de mettre en garde ses habitants. Nous n’avons jamais sévi avec iniquité.
As a reminder; and never have We been unjust
Ash-Shu'ara 26:210
وَمَا تَنَزَّلَتۡ بِهِ ٱلشَّيَٰطِينُ
Non, cette révélation n’a pas été transmise par les démons,
And the devils have not brought the revelation down
Ash-Shu'ara 26:211
وَمَا يَنۢبَغِي لَهُمۡ وَمَا يَسۡتَطِيعُونَ
auxquels ne saurait être confiée une telle mission et qui ne pourraient d’ailleurs s’en acquitter,
It is not allowable for them, nor would they be able
Ash-Shu'ara 26:212
إِنَّهُمۡ عَنِ ٱلسَّمۡعِ لَمَعۡزُولُونَ
étant empêchés de l’écouter.
Indeed they, from [its] hearing, are removed
Ash-Shu'ara 26:213
فَلَا تَدۡعُ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَٰهًا ءَاخَرَ فَتَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُعَذَّبِينَ
Garde-toi donc d’invoquer avec Allah d’autres divinités, car tu subirais le même sort que ceux qui seront châtiés.
So do not invoke with Allah another deity and [thus] be among the punished
Ash-Shu'ara 26:214
وَأَنذِرۡ عَشِيرَتَكَ ٱلۡأَقۡرَبِينَ
Avertis tout d’abord les membres de ton clan qui te sont les plus proches
And warn, [O Muhammad], your closest kindred
Ash-Shu'ara 26:215
وَٱخۡفِضۡ جَنَاحَكَ لِمَنِ ٱتَّبَعَكَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ
en te montrant humble et bienveillant envers les croyants qui te suivent.
And lower your wing to those who follow you of the believers
Ash-Shu'ara 26:216
فَإِنۡ عَصَوۡكَ فَقُلۡ إِنِّي بَرِيٓءٞ مِّمَّا تَعۡمَلُونَ
Quant à ceux parmi eux qui te désobéissent, désavoue ouvertement leurs agissements.
And if they disobey you, then say, "Indeed, I am disassociated from what you are doing
Ash-Shu'ara 26:217
وَتَوَكَّلۡ عَلَى ٱلۡعَزِيزِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
Confie-toi au Tout-Puissant, au Très Miséricordieux,
And rely upon the Exalted in Might, the Merciful
Ash-Shu'ara 26:218
ٱلَّذِي يَرَىٰكَ حِينَ تَقُومُ
qui te voit quand tu te lèves pour prier,
Who sees you when you arise
Ash-Shu'ara 26:219
وَتَقَلُّبَكَ فِي ٱلسَّـٰجِدِينَ
et tes mouvements au milieu des fidèles en prière.
And your movement among those who prostrate
Ash-Shu'ara 26:220
إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلۡعَلِيمُ
Il est Celui qui entend tout et sait tout.
Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Knowing
Ash-Shu'ara 26:221
هَلۡ أُنَبِّئُكُمۡ عَلَىٰ مَن تَنَزَّلُ ٱلشَّيَٰطِينُ
Vous indiquerai-je sur qui en réalité descendent les démons ?
Shall I inform you upon whom the devils descend
Ash-Shu'ara 26:222
تَنَزَّلُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ أَفَّاكٍ أَثِيمٖ
Ils descendent sur tous les menteurs et pécheurs endurcis
They descend upon every sinful liar
Ash-Shu'ara 26:223
يُلۡقُونَ ٱلسَّمۡعَ وَأَكۡثَرُهُمۡ كَٰذِبُونَ
qui prêtent l’oreille aux démons, mais qui bien souvent ne font que mentir.
They pass on what is heard, and most of them are liars
Ash-Shu'ara 26:224
وَٱلشُّعَرَآءُ يَتَّبِعُهُمُ ٱلۡغَاوُۥنَ
Quant aux poètes, seuls les suivent des esprits totalement égarés.
And the poets - [only] the deviators follow them
Ash-Shu'ara 26:225
أَلَمۡ تَرَ أَنَّهُمۡ فِي كُلِّ وَادٖ يَهِيمُونَ
Ne vois-tu pas qu’ils se livrent à tous les excès dans leurs poésies
Do you not see that in every valley they roam
Ash-Shu'ara 26:226
وَأَنَّهُمۡ يَقُولُونَ مَا لَا يَفۡعَلُونَ
et qu’ils s’attribuent des exploits qu’ils n’ont jamais accomplis ?
And that they say what they do not do
Ash-Shu'ara 26:227
إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَٰتِ وَذَكَرُواْ ٱللَّهَ كَثِيرٗا وَٱنتَصَرُواْ مِنۢ بَعۡدِ مَا ظُلِمُواْۗ وَسَيَعۡلَمُ ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوٓاْ أَيَّ مُنقَلَبٖ يَنقَلِبُونَ
A l’exception de ceux qui croient, font le bien, invoquent souvent le nom d’Allah et se contentent de répondre aux attaques injustement subies. Les impies connaîtront bientôt le sort qui leur est réservé.
Except those [poets] who believe and do righteous deeds and remember Allah often and defend [the Muslims] after they were wronged. And those who have wronged are going to know to what [kind of] return they will be returned
