Soera Al-Anbya (21) — De Profeten · الأنبياء
Mekkaanse soera, 112 verzen, als 73e geopenbaard.
De profeten als één broederschap die één boodschap draagt.
Al-Anbya 21:1
ٱقۡتَرَبَ لِلنَّاسِ حِسَابُهُمۡ وَهُمۡ فِي غَفۡلَةٖ مُّعۡرِضُونَ
De afrekening is voor de mensheid dichtbij gekomen terwijl zij zich achteloos afkeerde.
[The time of] their account has approached for the people, while they are in heedlessness turning away
Al-Anbya 21:2
مَا يَأۡتِيهِم مِّن ذِكۡرٖ مِّن رَّبِّهِم مُّحۡدَثٍ إِلَّا ٱسۡتَمَعُوهُ وَهُمۡ يَلۡعَبُونَ
Komt er niet tot hen een vermaning van hun Heer als een recente overlevering, maar zij luisteren ernaar terwijl zij spelen.
No mention comes to them anew from their Lord except that they listen to it while they are at play
Al-Anbya 21:3
لَاهِيَةٗ قُلُوبُهُمۡۗ وَأَسَرُّواْ ٱلنَّجۡوَى ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُواْ هَلۡ هَٰذَآ إِلَّا بَشَرٞ مِّثۡلُكُمۡۖ أَفَتَأۡتُونَ ٱلسِّحۡرَ وَأَنتُمۡ تُبۡصِرُونَ
Achteloos zijn hun harten (leeg aan kennis en aanbidding), degenen die zonden begaan verbergen hun privé-beraadslagingen (zeggende): “Is die (Mohammed vrede zij met hem) meer dan een mens zoals jullie? Zullen jullie je aan toverij onderwerpen terwijl jullie het zien?”
With their hearts distracted. And those who do wrong conceal their private conversation, [saying], "Is this [Prophet] except a human being like you? So would you approach magic while you are aware [of it]
Al-Anbya 21:4
قَالَ رَبِّي يَعۡلَمُ ٱلۡقَوۡلَ فِي ٱلسَّمَآءِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۖ وَهُوَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلۡعَلِيمُ
Hij (Mohammed) zei: “Mijn Heer kent (ieder gesproken) woord in de hemelen en de aarde. En Hij is Alhorend, de Alwetende.
The Prophet said, "My Lord knows whatever is said throughout the heaven and earth, and He is the Hearing, the Knowing
Al-Anbya 21:5
بَلۡ قَالُوٓاْ أَضۡغَٰثُ أَحۡلَٰمِۭ بَلِ ٱفۡتَرَىٰهُ بَلۡ هُوَ شَاعِرٞ فَلۡيَأۡتِنَا بِـَٔايَةٖ كَمَآ أُرۡسِلَ ٱلۡأَوَّلُونَ
Nee, zij zeggen: “Dit zijn vermengde valse dromen! Nee hij heeft het verzonnen! Nee, hij is een dichter! Laat hem dan een teken geven zoals aan degenen vóór hen was gestuurd!”
But they say, "[The revelation is but] a mixture of false dreams; rather, he has invented it; rather, he is a poet. So let him bring us a sign just as the previous [messengers] were sent [with miracles]
Al-Anbya 21:6
مَآ ءَامَنَتۡ قَبۡلَهُم مِّن قَرۡيَةٍ أَهۡلَكۡنَٰهَآۖ أَفَهُمۡ يُؤۡمِنُونَ
Niet één van de steden van degenen die Wij vernietigd hebben, geloofden vóór hen, zullen zij dan geloven?
Not a [single] city which We destroyed believed before them, so will they believe
Al-Anbya 21:7
وَمَآ أَرۡسَلۡنَا قَبۡلَكَ إِلَّا رِجَالٗا نُّوحِيٓ إِلَيۡهِمۡۖ فَسۡـَٔلُوٓاْ أَهۡلَ ٱلذِّكۡرِ إِن كُنتُمۡ لَا تَعۡلَمُونَ
En Wij hebben vóór jou geen mensen gestuurd anders dan dat Wij aan ze geopenbaard hebben; vraag dus de mensen die kennis hebben als jullie het niet weten.
And We sent not before you, [O Muhammad], except men to whom We revealed [the message], so ask the people of the message if you do not know
Al-Anbya 21:8
وَمَا جَعَلۡنَٰهُمۡ جَسَدٗا لَّا يَأۡكُلُونَ ٱلطَّعَامَ وَمَا كَانُواْ خَٰلِدِينَ
En Wij hebben hen niet geschapen met lichamen die niet aten noch waren zij onsterfelijk.
And We did not make the prophets forms not eating food, nor were they immortal [on earth]
Al-Anbya 21:9
ثُمَّ صَدَقۡنَٰهُمُ ٱلۡوَعۡدَ فَأَنجَيۡنَٰهُمۡ وَمَن نَّشَآءُ وَأَهۡلَكۡنَا ٱلۡمُسۡرِفِينَ
Toen hebben Wij voor hen de belofte vervuld en Wij hebben hen gered en degenen die Wij wilden, maar Wij hebben de buitensporigen vernietigd.
Then We fulfilled for them the promise, and We saved them and whom We willed and destroyed the transgressors
Al-Anbya 21:10
لَقَدۡ أَنزَلۡنَآ إِلَيۡكُمۡ كِتَٰبٗا فِيهِ ذِكۡرُكُمۡۚ أَفَلَا تَعۡقِلُونَ
Voorwaar, Wij hebben aan jullie een Boek neergezonden waarin er een eer voor jullie is. Zullen jullie het dan niet begrijpen?
We have certainly sent down to you a Book in which is your mention. Then will you not reason
Al-Anbya 21:11
وَكَمۡ قَصَمۡنَا مِن قَرۡيَةٖ كَانَتۡ ظَالِمَةٗ وَأَنشَأۡنَا بَعۡدَهَا قَوۡمًا ءَاخَرِينَ
Hoeveel steden, die zondaren bevatten, hebben Wij vernietigd en hebben na hen een ander volk laten herrijzen!
And how many a city which was unjust have We shattered and produced after it another people
Al-Anbya 21:12
فَلَمَّآ أَحَسُّواْ بَأۡسَنَآ إِذَا هُم مِّنۡهَا يَرۡكُضُونَ
En dan als zij Onze bestraffing zagen (komen), zie, zij (probeerden) daarvan te vluchten.
And when its inhabitants perceived Our punishment, at once they fled from it
Al-Anbya 21:13
لَا تَرۡكُضُواْ وَٱرۡجِعُوٓاْ إِلَىٰ مَآ أُتۡرِفۡتُمۡ فِيهِ وَمَسَٰكِنِكُمۡ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تُسۡـَٔلُونَ
Vlucht niet, maar keer terug tot datgene waarin jullie een luxe leven leiden en naar jullie huizen zodat jullie ondervraagd kunnen worden.
[Some angels said], "Do not flee but return to where you were given luxury and to your homes - perhaps you will be questioned
Al-Anbya 21:14
قَالُواْ يَٰوَيۡلَنَآ إِنَّا كُنَّا ظَٰلِمِينَ
Zij riepen: “Wee voor ons! Zeker! Wij zijn onrechtvaardigen geweest!”
They said, "O woe to us! Indeed, we were wrongdoers
Al-Anbya 21:15
فَمَا زَالَت تِّلۡكَ دَعۡوَىٰهُمۡ حَتَّىٰ جَعَلۡنَٰهُمۡ حَصِيدًا خَٰمِدِينَ
En die roep van hen neemt niet af tot Wij hen tot een veld maakten dat geraapt is, uitgestorven.
And that declaration of theirs did not cease until We made them [as] a harvest [mowed down], extinguished [like a fire]
Al-Anbya 21:16
وَمَا خَلَقۡنَا ٱلسَّمَآءَ وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ وَمَا بَيۡنَهُمَا لَٰعِبِينَ
Wij hebben niet de hemelen en de aarde en alles wat daar tussen is geschapen voor alleen maar het spel.
And We did not create the heaven and earth and that between them in play
Al-Anbya 21:17
لَوۡ أَرَدۡنَآ أَن نَّتَّخِذَ لَهۡوٗا لَّٱتَّخَذۡنَٰهُ مِن لَّدُنَّآ إِن كُنَّا فَٰعِلِينَ
Als Wij de bedoeling gehad hadden om een tijdverdrijf te nemen. Dan hadden Wij het beslist van Onszelf kunnen nemen, als Wij dat zouden doen.
Had We intended to take a diversion, We could have taken it from [what is] with Us - if [indeed] We were to do so
Al-Anbya 21:18
بَلۡ نَقۡذِفُ بِٱلۡحَقِّ عَلَى ٱلۡبَٰطِلِ فَيَدۡمَغُهُۥ فَإِذَا هُوَ زَاهِقٞۚ وَلَكُمُ ٱلۡوَيۡلُ مِمَّا تَصِفُونَ
Nee, Wij schieten de waarheid tegen de leugen, dus het vernietigt het en zie het (de leugen) is verdwenen. En wee voor jullie die dat aan (Ons) toeschrijft.
Rather, We dash the truth upon falsehood, and it destroys it, and thereupon it departs. And for you is destruction from that which you describe
Al-Anbya 21:19
وَلَهُۥ مَن فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ وَمَنۡ عِندَهُۥ لَا يَسۡتَكۡبِرُونَ عَنۡ عِبَادَتِهِۦ وَلَا يَسۡتَحۡسِرُونَ
Aan Hem behoort alles wat in de hemelen en de aarde is. En degenen die in Zijn nabijheid zijn zijn niet hoogmoedig Hem te aanbidden noch zijn zij vermoeid.
To Him belongs whoever is in the heavens and the earth. And those near Him are not prevented by arrogance from His worship, nor do they tire
Al-Anbya 21:20
يُسَبِّحُونَ ٱلَّيۡلَ وَٱلنَّهَارَ لَا يَفۡتُرُونَ
Zij verheerlijken dag en nacht Zijn lofprijzing en nooit zullen zij stoppen.
They exalt [Him] night and day [and] do not slacken
Al-Anbya 21:21
أَمِ ٱتَّخَذُوٓاْ ءَالِهَةٗ مِّنَ ٱلۡأَرۡضِ هُمۡ يُنشِرُونَ
Of hebben zij goden van de aarde genomen die de doden laten herrijzen?
Or have men taken for themselves gods from the earth who resurrect [the dead]
Al-Anbya 21:22
لَوۡ كَانَ فِيهِمَآ ءَالِهَةٌ إِلَّا ٱللَّهُ لَفَسَدَتَاۚ فَسُبۡحَٰنَ ٱللَّهِ رَبِّ ٱلۡعَرۡشِ عَمَّا يَصِفُونَ
Als er daarin goden naast Allah zouden zijn geweest, dan waarlijk, beiden zouden vernietigd zijn. Verheerlijkt is Allah, de Heer van de Troon, boven alles wat zij aan Hem toewijzen!
Had there been within the heavens and earth gods besides Allah, they both would have been ruined. So exalted is Allah, Lord of the Throne, above what they describe
Al-Anbya 21:23
لَا يُسۡـَٔلُ عَمَّا يَفۡعَلُ وَهُمۡ يُسۡـَٔلُونَ
Hij kan niet ondervraagd worden over wat Hij doet, terwijl zij ondervraagd zullen worden.
He is not questioned about what He does, but they will be questioned
Al-Anbya 21:24
أَمِ ٱتَّخَذُواْ مِن دُونِهِۦٓ ءَالِهَةٗۖ قُلۡ هَاتُواْ بُرۡهَٰنَكُمۡۖ هَٰذَا ذِكۡرُ مَن مَّعِيَ وَذِكۡرُ مَن قَبۡلِيۚ بَلۡ أَكۡثَرُهُمۡ لَا يَعۡلَمُونَ ٱلۡحَقَّۖ فَهُم مُّعۡرِضُونَ
Of hebben zij voor aanbidding goden naast Hem genomen? Zeg: “Geef je bewijs.” Dit is de Overdenking voor degenen bij mij en de Overdenking voor degene voor mij. Maar de meesten van hen kennen de waarheid niet, dus zijn ze afkerig.
Or have they taken gods besides Him? Say, [O Muhammad], "Produce your proof. This [Qur'an] is the message for those with me and the message of those before me." But most of them do not know the truth, so they are turning away
Al-Anbya 21:25
وَمَآ أَرۡسَلۡنَا مِن قَبۡلِكَ مِن رَّسُولٍ إِلَّا نُوحِيٓ إِلَيۡهِ أَنَّهُۥ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّآ أَنَا۠ فَٱعۡبُدُونِ
En Wij hebben geen enkele boodschapper voor jou gezonden zonder aan hem te opbaren: “Er is er geen die het recht heeft om aanbeden te worden behalve Mij, aanbid Mij dus.”
And We sent not before you any messenger except that We revealed to him that, "There is no deity except Me, so worship Me
Al-Anbya 21:26
وَقَالُواْ ٱتَّخَذَ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنُ وَلَدٗاۗ سُبۡحَٰنَهُۥۚ بَلۡ عِبَادٞ مُّكۡرَمُونَ
En zei zeiden: “De meest Barmhartige heeft een zoon gekregen.” Verheerlijkt zij Hij! Zij zijn niets anders dan geëerde dienaren.
And they say, "The Most Merciful has taken a son." Exalted is He! Rather, they are [but] honored servants
Al-Anbya 21:27
لَا يَسۡبِقُونَهُۥ بِٱلۡقَوۡلِ وَهُم بِأَمۡرِهِۦ يَعۡمَلُونَ
Zij spreken niet tot Hij heeft gesproken, en zij handelen op Zijn bevel.
They cannot precede Him in word, and they act by His command
Al-Anbya 21:28
يَعۡلَمُ مَا بَيۡنَ أَيۡدِيهِمۡ وَمَا خَلۡفَهُمۡ وَلَا يَشۡفَعُونَ إِلَّا لِمَنِ ٱرۡتَضَىٰ وَهُم مِّنۡ خَشۡيَتِهِۦ مُشۡفِقُونَ
Hij weet wat vóór hen is en wat achter hen is en zij kunnen niet bemiddelen voor Hem behalve met degene waar Hij tevreden mee is. En zij staan met vol ontzag en vrees voor Hem.
He knows what is [presently] before them and what will be after them, and they cannot intercede except on behalf of one whom He approves. And they, from fear of Him, are apprehensive
Al-Anbya 21:29
۞وَمَن يَقُلۡ مِنۡهُمۡ إِنِّيٓ إِلَٰهٞ مِّن دُونِهِۦ فَذَٰلِكَ نَجۡزِيهِ جَهَنَّمَۚ كَذَٰلِكَ نَجۡزِي ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ
En als één van hen zou zeggen: “Waarlijk, ik ben een god naast Hem,” zo iemand zouden Wij met de hel vergoeden. Zo vergoeden wij de onrechtvaardigen.
And whoever of them should say, "Indeed, I am a god besides Him"- that one We would recompense with Hell. Thus do We recompense the wrongdoers
Al-Anbya 21:30
أَوَلَمۡ يَرَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓاْ أَنَّ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ كَانَتَا رَتۡقٗا فَفَتَقۡنَٰهُمَاۖ وَجَعَلۡنَا مِنَ ٱلۡمَآءِ كُلَّ شَيۡءٍ حَيٍّۚ أَفَلَا يُؤۡمِنُونَ
Zien degenen die ongelovigen zijn niet dat de hemelen en de aarde als één stuk waren samengevoegd, en dat Wij het vervolgens scheiden? En Wij hebben uit het water elk levend ding geschapen. Zullen zij dan niet geloven?
Have those who disbelieved not considered that the heavens and the earth were a joined entity, and We separated them and made from water every living thing? Then will they not believe
Al-Anbya 21:31
وَجَعَلۡنَا فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ رَوَٰسِيَ أَن تَمِيدَ بِهِمۡ وَجَعَلۡنَا فِيهَا فِجَاجٗا سُبُلٗا لَّعَلَّهُمۡ يَهۡتَدُونَ
En Wij hebben op de aarde stevige bergen geplaatst, anders zou het met hen schudden en Wij hebben daarin brede wegen geplaatst om doorgang te kunnen vinden, dat zij geleid moge zijn.
And We placed within the earth firmly set mountains, lest it should shift with them, and We made therein [mountain] passes [as] roads that they might be guided
Al-Anbya 21:32
وَجَعَلۡنَا ٱلسَّمَآءَ سَقۡفٗا مَّحۡفُوظٗاۖ وَهُمۡ عَنۡ ءَايَٰتِهَا مُعۡرِضُونَ
En Wij hebben de hemel tot een dak gemaakt, veilig en goed behoed. Maar toch keren zij zich van haar tekenen af.
And We made the sky a protected ceiling, but they, from its signs, are turning away
Al-Anbya 21:33
وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِي خَلَقَ ٱلَّيۡلَ وَٱلنَّهَارَ وَٱلشَّمۡسَ وَٱلۡقَمَرَۖ كُلّٞ فِي فَلَكٖ يَسۡبَحُونَ
En Hij is het Die de dag en de nacht heeft geschapen, en de zon en de maan ieder zwevend in haar baan.
And it is He who created the night and the day and the sun and the moon; all [heavenly bodies] in an orbit are swimming
Al-Anbya 21:34
وَمَا جَعَلۡنَا لِبَشَرٖ مِّن قَبۡلِكَ ٱلۡخُلۡدَۖ أَفَإِيْن مِّتَّ فَهُمُ ٱلۡخَٰلِدُونَ
En Wij hebben geen enkel menselijk leven onsterfelijkheid vóór jou gegeven, als jij zult streven, zullen zij dan eeuwig leven?
And We did not grant to any man before you eternity [on earth]; so if you die - would they be eternal
Al-Anbya 21:35
كُلُّ نَفۡسٖ ذَآئِقَةُ ٱلۡمَوۡتِۗ وَنَبۡلُوكُم بِٱلشَّرِّ وَٱلۡخَيۡرِ فِتۡنَةٗۖ وَإِلَيۡنَا تُرۡجَعُونَ
Wij zullen jullie testen (op jullie geduld en dankbaarheid) met zowel kwade als goede beproevingen (macht en onmacht, armoede en rijkdom, ziekte en gezondheid). En tot Ons zullen jullie terugkeren (voor de beloning).
Every soul will taste death. And We test you with evil and with good as trial; and to Us you will be returned
Al-Anbya 21:36
وَإِذَا رَءَاكَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓاْ إِن يَتَّخِذُونَكَ إِلَّا هُزُوًا أَهَٰذَا ٱلَّذِي يَذۡكُرُ ءَالِهَتَكُمۡ وَهُم بِذِكۡرِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ هُمۡ كَٰفِرُونَ
En als degenen die ongelovig zijn jou zien, dan bemoeien zij zich niet met jou behalve om je te bespotten (zeggende): “Is dat degene die (slecht) over jullie goden spreekt?” Terwijl zij ongelovig zijn in het benoemen van de meest Barmhartige.
And when those who disbelieve see you, [O Muhammad], they take you not except in ridicule, [saying], "Is this the one who insults your gods?" And they are, at the mention of the Most Merciful, disbelievers
Al-Anbya 21:37
خُلِقَ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُ مِنۡ عَجَلٖۚ سَأُوْرِيكُمۡ ءَايَٰتِي فَلَا تَسۡتَعۡجِلُونِ
De mens is van nature haastig geschapen. Ik zal jullie Mijn tekenen laten zien. Vraag Mij dus niet om (hen) te bespoedigen.
Man was created of haste. I will show you My signs, so do not impatiently urge Me
Al-Anbya 21:38
وَيَقُولُونَ مَتَىٰ هَٰذَا ٱلۡوَعۡدُ إِن كُنتُمۡ صَٰدِقِينَ
En zij zeggen: “Wanneer zal deze belofte (vervuld) worden, als jullie waarachtig zijn.”
And they say, "When is this promise, if you should be truthful
Al-Anbya 21:39
لَوۡ يَعۡلَمُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ حِينَ لَا يَكُفُّونَ عَن وُجُوهِهِمُ ٱلنَّارَ وَلَا عَن ظُهُورِهِمۡ وَلَا هُمۡ يُنصَرُونَ
Als de ongelovigen alleen maar (de tijd) wisten wanneer zij niet in staat zullen zijn zich tegen het vuur op hun gezichten te beschermen, noch van hun ruggen; en zij zullen niet geholpen worden.
If those who disbelieved but knew the time when they will not avert the Fire from their faces or from their backs and they will not be aided
Al-Anbya 21:40
بَلۡ تَأۡتِيهِم بَغۡتَةٗ فَتَبۡهَتُهُمۡ فَلَا يَسۡتَطِيعُونَ رَدَّهَا وَلَا هُمۡ يُنظَرُونَ
Nee, het zal plotseling over hen komen en zal hen perplex overweldigen en zij hebben geen macht om het te ontwijken, noch zullen zij uitstel krijgen.
Rather, it will come to them unexpectedly and bewilder them, and they will not be able to repel it, nor will they be reprieved
Al-Anbya 21:41
وَلَقَدِ ٱسۡتُهۡزِئَ بِرُسُلٖ مِّن قَبۡلِكَ فَحَاقَ بِٱلَّذِينَ سَخِرُواْ مِنۡهُم مَّا كَانُواْ بِهِۦ يَسۡتَهۡزِءُونَ
Voorwaar, de boodschappers vóór jou werden bespot, maar de bespotters werden omringd door datgene wat zij bespotten.
And already were messengers ridiculed before you, but those who mocked them were enveloped by what they used to ridicule
Al-Anbya 21:42
قُلۡ مَن يَكۡلَؤُكُم بِٱلَّيۡلِ وَٱلنَّهَارِ مِنَ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِۚ بَلۡ هُمۡ عَن ذِكۡرِ رَبِّهِم مُّعۡرِضُونَ
Zeg: “Wie kan jullie in de nacht en overdag beschermen en behoeden tegen de (bestraffing van de) meest Barmhartige?” Nee, maar zij keren zich af van de Overdenking van hun Heer.
Say, "Who can protect you at night or by day from the Most Merciful?" But they are, from the remembrance of their Lord, turning away
Al-Anbya 21:43
أَمۡ لَهُمۡ ءَالِهَةٞ تَمۡنَعُهُم مِّن دُونِنَاۚ لَا يَسۡتَطِيعُونَ نَصۡرَ أَنفُسِهِمۡ وَلَا هُم مِّنَّا يُصۡحَبُونَ
Of hebben zij goden die hen tegen Ons kunnen beschermen? Zij hebben geen macht om zichzelf te helpen, noch kunnen zij tegen Ons beschermd worden.
Or do they have gods to defend them other than Us? They are unable [even] to help themselves, nor can they be protected from Us
Al-Anbya 21:44
بَلۡ مَتَّعۡنَا هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ وَءَابَآءَهُمۡ حَتَّىٰ طَالَ عَلَيۡهِمُ ٱلۡعُمُرُۗ أَفَلَا يَرَوۡنَ أَنَّا نَأۡتِي ٱلۡأَرۡضَ نَنقُصُهَا مِنۡ أَطۡرَافِهَآۚ أَفَهُمُ ٱلۡغَٰلِبُونَ
Nee, Wij laten hen en hun voorvaderen genieten in deze wereld, totdat de periode van weelde voor hen lang duurde. Zien zij dan niet dat Wij beetje bij beetje het land verminderden van haar buitenste grenzen? Zijn zij dan de overwinnaars?
But, [on the contrary], We have provided good things for these [disbelievers] and their fathers until life was prolonged for them. Then do they not see that We set upon the land, reducing it from its borders? So it is they who will overcome
Al-Anbya 21:45
قُلۡ إِنَّمَآ أُنذِرُكُم بِٱلۡوَحۡيِۚ وَلَا يَسۡمَعُ ٱلصُّمُّ ٱلدُّعَآءَ إِذَا مَا يُنذَرُونَ
Zeg: “Ik waarschuw jullie slechts door de openbaring." Maar de doven zullen de oproep niet horen (zelfs) als zij gewaarschuwd.
Say, "I only warn you by revelation." But the deaf do not hear the call when they are warned
Al-Anbya 21:46
وَلَئِن مَّسَّتۡهُمۡ نَفۡحَةٞ مِّنۡ عَذَابِ رَبِّكَ لَيَقُولُنَّ يَٰوَيۡلَنَآ إِنَّا كُنَّا ظَٰلِمِينَ
En als een deel van de bestraffing van jullie Heer hen treft, zullen zij zeker roepen: “Wee voor ons! Voorwaar wij zijn onrechtvaardigen geweest.”
And if [as much as] a whiff of the punishment of your Lord should touch them, they would surely say, "O woe to us! Indeed, we have been wrongdoers
Al-Anbya 21:47
وَنَضَعُ ٱلۡمَوَٰزِينَ ٱلۡقِسۡطَ لِيَوۡمِ ٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِ فَلَا تُظۡلَمُ نَفۡسٞ شَيۡـٔٗاۖ وَإِن كَانَ مِثۡقَالَ حَبَّةٖ مِّنۡ خَرۡدَلٍ أَتَيۡنَا بِهَاۗ وَكَفَىٰ بِنَا حَٰسِبِينَ
Op de Dag der Opstanding zullen Wij weegschalen van rechtvaardigheid opstellen, niemand zal dan in wat dan ook onrechtvaardig behandeld worden. En als er het gewicht van een mosterdzaadje is zullen Wij het brengen. En Wij volstaan als Berekenaars.
And We place the scales of justice for the Day of Resurrection, so no soul will be treated unjustly at all. And if there is [even] the weight of a mustard seed, We will bring it forth. And sufficient are We as accountant
Al-Anbya 21:48
وَلَقَدۡ ءَاتَيۡنَا مُوسَىٰ وَهَٰرُونَ ٱلۡفُرۡقَانَ وَضِيَآءٗ وَذِكۡرٗا لِّلۡمُتَّقِينَ
En voorwaar, Wij hebben aan Moesa en Haaroen het onderscheid gegeven en een schijnend licht en een Overdenking voor de godvrezenden.
And We had already given Moses and Aaron the criterion and a light and a reminder for the righteous
Al-Anbya 21:49
ٱلَّذِينَ يَخۡشَوۡنَ رَبَّهُم بِٱلۡغَيۡبِ وَهُم مِّنَ ٱلسَّاعَةِ مُشۡفِقُونَ
Degenen die hun Heer vrezen zonder Hem te zien, terwijl zij angst hebben voor het Uur.
Who fear their Lord unseen, while they are of the Hour apprehensive
Al-Anbya 21:50
وَهَٰذَا ذِكۡرٞ مُّبَارَكٌ أَنزَلۡنَٰهُۚ أَفَأَنتُمۡ لَهُۥ مُنكِرُونَ
En dit is een gezegende Overdenking die Wij naar beneden hebben gezonden, hebben jullie dan (de moed) om het te ontkennen?”
And this [Qur'an] is a blessed message which We have sent down. Then are you with it unacquainted
Al-Anbya 21:51
۞وَلَقَدۡ ءَاتَيۡنَآ إِبۡرَٰهِيمَ رُشۡدَهُۥ مِن قَبۡلُ وَكُنَّا بِهِۦ عَٰلِمِينَ
En voorwaar, Wij gaven Ibraahiem eerder zijn leiding en Wij waren alwetend over hem.
And We had certainly given Abraham his sound judgement before, and We were of him well-Knowing
Al-Anbya 21:52
إِذۡ قَالَ لِأَبِيهِ وَقَوۡمِهِۦ مَا هَٰذِهِ ٱلتَّمَاثِيلُ ٱلَّتِيٓ أَنتُمۡ لَهَا عَٰكِفُونَ
Toen hij tot zijn vader en zijn volk zei: “Wat zijn dit voor beelden waar jullie zo toegewijd aan zijn?”
When he said to his father and his people, "What are these statues to which you are devoted
Al-Anbya 21:53
قَالُواْ وَجَدۡنَآ ءَابَآءَنَا لَهَا عَٰبِدِينَ
Zij zeiden: “Wij vonden dat onze vaderen hen aanbaden.”
They said, "We found our fathers worshippers of them
Al-Anbya 21:54
قَالَ لَقَدۡ كُنتُمۡ أَنتُمۡ وَءَابَآؤُكُمۡ فِي ضَلَٰلٖ مُّبِينٖ
Hij zei: “Voorwaar jullie en jullie vaderen verkeerden in duidelijke dwaling."
He said, "You were certainly, you and your fathers, in manifest error
Al-Anbya 21:55
قَالُوٓاْ أَجِئۡتَنَا بِٱلۡحَقِّ أَمۡ أَنتَ مِنَ ٱللَّـٰعِبِينَ
Zij zeiden: “Heb jij ons de waarheid gebracht, of behoor je tot diegenen die maar een beetje spelen?”
They said, "Have you come to us with truth, or are you of those who jest
Al-Anbya 21:56
قَالَ بَل رَّبُّكُمۡ رَبُّ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ ٱلَّذِي فَطَرَهُنَّ وَأَنَا۠ عَلَىٰ ذَٰلِكُم مِّنَ ٱلشَّـٰهِدِينَ
Hij zei: “Nee, jullie Heer is de Heer van de hemelen en de aarde, Die hen geschapen heeft en waarvan ik één van de getuigen ben.
He said, "[No], rather, your Lord is the Lord of the heavens and the earth who created them, and I, to that, am of those who testify
Al-Anbya 21:57
وَتَٱللَّهِ لَأَكِيدَنَّ أَصۡنَٰمَكُم بَعۡدَ أَن تُوَلُّواْ مُدۡبِرِينَ
En bij Allah, ik zal een plan maken om jullie beelden nadat jullie weg zijn gegaan en jullie ruggen toegekeerd hebben (te vernietigen).”
And [I swear] by Allah, I will surely plan against your idols after you have turned and gone away
Al-Anbya 21:58
فَجَعَلَهُمۡ جُذَٰذًا إِلَّا كَبِيرٗا لَّهُمۡ لَعَلَّهُمۡ إِلَيۡهِ يَرۡجِعُونَ
Dus brak hij hen in stukken behalve de grootste van hen, zodat ze zich daartoe moge keren.
So he made them into fragments, except a large one among them, that they might return to it [and question]
Al-Anbya 21:59
قَالُواْ مَن فَعَلَ هَٰذَا بِـَٔالِهَتِنَآ إِنَّهُۥ لَمِنَ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ
Zij zeiden: “Wie heeft dit onze goden aangedaan? Hij moet beslist één van de zondaren zijn.”
They said, "Who has done this to our gods? Indeed, he is of the wrongdoers
Al-Anbya 21:60
قَالُواْ سَمِعۡنَا فَتٗى يَذۡكُرُهُمۡ يُقَالُ لَهُۥٓ إِبۡرَٰهِيمُ
Zij zeiden: “Wij hoorden een jonge man, die Ibraahiem wordt genoemd over hen praten.”
They said, "We heard a young man mention them who is called Abraham
Al-Anbya 21:61
قَالُواْ فَأۡتُواْ بِهِۦ عَلَىٰٓ أَعۡيُنِ ٱلنَّاسِ لَعَلَّهُمۡ يَشۡهَدُونَ
Zij zeiden: “Breng hem dan voor de ogen van de mensen, zodat zij moge getuigen.”
They said, "Then bring him before the eyes of the people that they may testify
Al-Anbya 21:62
قَالُوٓاْ ءَأَنتَ فَعَلۡتَ هَٰذَا بِـَٔالِهَتِنَا يَـٰٓإِبۡرَٰهِيمُ
Zij zeiden: “Ben jij degene die dit onze goden heeft aangedaan, o Ibraahiem?”
They said, "Have you done this to our gods, O Abraham
Al-Anbya 21:63
قَالَ بَلۡ فَعَلَهُۥ كَبِيرُهُمۡ هَٰذَا فَسۡـَٔلُوهُمۡ إِن كَانُواْ يَنطِقُونَ
(Ibraahiem) zei: “Nee, deze, de grootste van hen heeft het gedaan. Vraag het hen als zij kunnen spreken!”
He said, "Rather, this - the largest of them - did it, so ask them, if they should [be able to] speak
Al-Anbya 21:64
فَرَجَعُوٓاْ إِلَىٰٓ أَنفُسِهِمۡ فَقَالُوٓاْ إِنَّكُمۡ أَنتُمُ ٱلظَّـٰلِمُونَ
Dus kwamen zij tot zichzelf en zeiden: “Waarlijk, jij bent de onrechtvaardige.”
So they returned to [blaming] themselves and said [to each other], "Indeed, you are the wrongdoers
Al-Anbya 21:65
ثُمَّ نُكِسُواْ عَلَىٰ رُءُوسِهِمۡ لَقَدۡ عَلِمۡتَ مَا هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ يَنطِقُونَ
En dan kwamen zij tot inkeer en spraken: “Voorwaar jij weet goed dat deze (beelden) niet spreken!”
Then they reversed themselves, [saying], "You have already known that these do not speak
Al-Anbya 21:66
قَالَ أَفَتَعۡبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ مَا لَا يَنفَعُكُمۡ شَيۡـٔٗا وَلَا يَضُرُّكُمۡ
(Ibraahiem) zei: “Aanbidden jullie dan naast Allah zaken waar jullie geen baat bij hebben en die jullie je niet kan schaden?
He said, "Then do you worship instead of Allah that which does not benefit you at all or harm you
Al-Anbya 21:67
أُفّٖ لَّكُمۡ وَلِمَا تَعۡبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِۚ أَفَلَا تَعۡقِلُونَ
"Oeff" (uitdrukking dat duidt op ergernis) naar jullie en dat wat jullie naast Allah aanbidden! Hebben jullie dan geen verstand?”
Uff to you and to what you worship instead of Allah. Then will you not use reason
Al-Anbya 21:68
قَالُواْ حَرِّقُوهُ وَٱنصُرُوٓاْ ءَالِهَتَكُمۡ إِن كُنتُمۡ فَٰعِلِينَ
Zij zeiden: “Verbrand hem en help jullie goden als jullie dat doen.”
They said, "Burn him and support your gods - if you are to act
Al-Anbya 21:69
قُلۡنَا يَٰنَارُ كُونِي بَرۡدٗا وَسَلَٰمًا عَلَىٰٓ إِبۡرَٰهِيمَ
Wij zeiden (tegen de gigantische brandstapel): “O (allesverterend) vuur! Wees koel en (tegelijkertijd ook) veilig voor Ibraahiem!”
Allah said, "O fire, be coolness and safety upon Abraham
Al-Anbya 21:70
وَأَرَادُواْ بِهِۦ كَيۡدٗا فَجَعَلۡنَٰهُمُ ٱلۡأَخۡسَرِينَ
En zij wilden hem kwetsen maar Wij maakten hen tot de ergste verliezers.
And they intended for him harm, but We made them the greatest losers
Al-Anbya 21:71
وَنَجَّيۡنَٰهُ وَلُوطًا إِلَى ٱلۡأَرۡضِ ٱلَّتِي بَٰرَكۡنَا فِيهَا لِلۡعَٰلَمِينَ
En Wij redden (en brachten) hem en Loet tot het land dat Wij voor de wereldwezens gezegend hadden.
And We delivered him and Lot to the land which We had blessed for the worlds
Al-Anbya 21:72
وَوَهَبۡنَا لَهُۥٓ إِسۡحَٰقَ وَيَعۡقُوبَ نَافِلَةٗۖ وَكُلّٗا جَعَلۡنَا صَٰلِحِينَ
En Wij schonken hem Isaac en Yacoeb. Ieder maakten Wij rechtgeleid.
And We gave him Isaac and Jacob in addition, and all [of them] We made righteous
Al-Anbya 21:73
وَجَعَلۡنَٰهُمۡ أَئِمَّةٗ يَهۡدُونَ بِأَمۡرِنَا وَأَوۡحَيۡنَآ إِلَيۡهِمۡ فِعۡلَ ٱلۡخَيۡرَٰتِ وَإِقَامَ ٱلصَّلَوٰةِ وَإِيتَآءَ ٱلزَّكَوٰةِۖ وَكَانُواْ لَنَا عَٰبِدِينَ
En Wij maakten hen tot leiders, leidend door Ons bevel en Wij openbaarden aan hen om goede daden te doen, en de gebeden perfect te verrichten en de Zakat te geven en (alleen) van Ons waren zij aanbidders.
And We made them leaders guiding by Our command. And We inspired to them the doing of good deeds, establishment of prayer, and giving of zakah; and they were worshippers of Us
Al-Anbya 21:74
وَلُوطًا ءَاتَيۡنَٰهُ حُكۡمٗا وَعِلۡمٗا وَنَجَّيۡنَٰهُ مِنَ ٱلۡقَرۡيَةِ ٱلَّتِي كَانَت تَّعۡمَلُ ٱلۡخَبَـٰٓئِثَۚ إِنَّهُمۡ كَانُواْ قَوۡمَ سَوۡءٖ فَٰسِقِينَ
En Loet, gaven Wij wijsheid, profeetschap en kennis en Wij redden hem van de stad welke kwade, slechte en vieze daden verrichten. Waarlijk, zij waren een volk dat aan het kwaad was gegeven, en zij waren verdorven.
And to Lot We gave judgement and knowledge, and We saved him from the city that was committing wicked deeds. Indeed, they were a people of evil, defiantly disobedient
Al-Anbya 21:75
وَأَدۡخَلۡنَٰهُ فِي رَحۡمَتِنَآۖ إِنَّهُۥ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ
En Wij schonken hem Onze genade, waarlijk, hij was één van de rechtgeleiden.
And We admitted him into Our mercy. Indeed, he was of the righteous
Al-Anbya 21:76
وَنُوحًا إِذۡ نَادَىٰ مِن قَبۡلُ فَٱسۡتَجَبۡنَا لَهُۥ فَنَجَّيۡنَٰهُ وَأَهۡلَهُۥ مِنَ ٱلۡكَرۡبِ ٱلۡعَظِيمِ
En (gedenk) Noeh toen hij ons voorheen aanriep. Wij verhoorden zijn aanroeping en redden hem en zijn familie van een grote ramp.
And [mention] Noah, when he called [to Allah] before [that time], so We responded to him and saved him and his family from the great flood
Al-Anbya 21:77
وَنَصَرۡنَٰهُ مِنَ ٱلۡقَوۡمِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُواْ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَآۚ إِنَّهُمۡ كَانُواْ قَوۡمَ سَوۡءٖ فَأَغۡرَقۡنَٰهُمۡ أَجۡمَعِينَ
Wij hielpen hem tegen een volk dat Onze tekenen ontkende. Waarlijk, zij waren een volk dat aan het kwaad was gegeven. Dus verdronken Wij hen allen.
And We saved him from the people who denied Our signs. Indeed, they were a people of evil, so We drowned them, all together
Al-Anbya 21:78
وَدَاوُۥدَ وَسُلَيۡمَٰنَ إِذۡ يَحۡكُمَانِ فِي ٱلۡحَرۡثِ إِذۡ نَفَشَتۡ فِيهِ غَنَمُ ٱلۡقَوۡمِ وَكُنَّا لِحُكۡمِهِمۡ شَٰهِدِينَ
En (gedenk) Dawoed en Soeleiman, toen zij uitspraak deden over het geval van het veld waarin schapen van bepaalde mensen ’s nachts graasden en Wij waren getuige van hun uitspraak.
And [mention] David and Solomon, when they judged concerning the field - when the sheep of a people overran it [at night], and We were witness to their judgement
Al-Anbya 21:79
فَفَهَّمۡنَٰهَا سُلَيۡمَٰنَۚ وَكُلًّا ءَاتَيۡنَا حُكۡمٗا وَعِلۡمٗاۚ وَسَخَّرۡنَا مَعَ دَاوُۥدَ ٱلۡجِبَالَ يُسَبِّحۡنَ وَٱلطَّيۡرَۚ وَكُنَّا فَٰعِلِينَ
En Wij zorgden ervoor dat Soeleiman (de zaak) begreep en aan elk van hen gaven Wij wijsheid en Kennis. En Wij onderwierpen de bergen en de vogels om samen met Dawoed Onze lofprijzing te verheerlijken. En Wij waren het die alles verichtten.
And We gave understanding of the case to Solomon, and to each [of them] We gave judgement and knowledge. And We subjected the mountains to exalt [Us], along with David and [also] the birds. And We were doing [that]
Al-Anbya 21:80
وَعَلَّمۡنَٰهُ صَنۡعَةَ لَبُوسٖ لَّكُمۡ لِتُحۡصِنَكُم مِّنۢ بَأۡسِكُمۡۖ فَهَلۡ أَنتُمۡ شَٰكِرُونَ
En Wij onderwezen hem hoe metalen maliënkolders te maken, om jullie te beschermen in de gevechten. Zijn jullie dan niet dankbaar?
And We taught him the fashioning of coats of armor to protect you from your [enemy in] battle. So will you then be grateful
Al-Anbya 21:81
وَلِسُلَيۡمَٰنَ ٱلرِّيحَ عَاصِفَةٗ تَجۡرِي بِأَمۡرِهِۦٓ إِلَى ٱلۡأَرۡضِ ٱلَّتِي بَٰرَكۡنَا فِيهَاۚ وَكُنَّا بِكُلِّ شَيۡءٍ عَٰلِمِينَ
En aan Soeleiman (onderwierpen Wij) de wind, stormend, waaiend door zijn bevel over land dat Wij gezegend hebben. En van alles zijn Wij Alwetend.
And to Solomon [We subjected] the wind, blowing forcefully, proceeding by his command toward the land which We had blessed. And We are ever, of all things, Knowing
Al-Anbya 21:82
وَمِنَ ٱلشَّيَٰطِينِ مَن يَغُوصُونَ لَهُۥ وَيَعۡمَلُونَ عَمَلٗا دُونَ ذَٰلِكَۖ وَكُنَّا لَهُمۡ حَٰفِظِينَ
En van de duivels doken sommigen voor hem en deden daarnaast ander werk; en Wij waren het Die hen behoed hebben.
And of the devils were those who dived for him and did work other than that. And We were of them a guardian
Al-Anbya 21:83
۞وَأَيُّوبَ إِذۡ نَادَىٰ رَبَّهُۥٓ أَنِّي مَسَّنِيَ ٱلضُّرُّ وَأَنتَ أَرۡحَمُ ٱلرَّـٰحِمِينَ
En (gedenk) Ayyoeb, die zijn Heer aanriep: “Waarlijk, de ellende heeft mij gegrepen, maar U bent de meest Genadevolle.”
And [mention] Job, when he called to his Lord, "Indeed, adversity has touched me, and you are the Most Merciful of the merciful
Al-Anbya 21:84
فَٱسۡتَجَبۡنَا لَهُۥ فَكَشَفۡنَا مَا بِهِۦ مِن ضُرّٖۖ وَءَاتَيۡنَٰهُ أَهۡلَهُۥ وَمِثۡلَهُم مَّعَهُمۡ رَحۡمَةٗ مِّنۡ عِندِنَا وَذِكۡرَىٰ لِلۡعَٰبِدِينَ
Daarop verhoorden Wij zijn aanroeping en verlosten Wij hem uit zijn lijden. (Bovendien) voorzagen Wij hem (opnieuw) van familieleden (en vanwege zijn onuitputtelijk geduld bereidden Wij zijn gezin uit) met nog betere leden (dan voorheen) – als een (exclusieve) genade van Ons (aan Ayyoeb, waardoor dit) een (onvergetelijke) overdenking (werd) voor allen die Ons aanbidden (en ook beproevingen moeten doorstaan).
So We responded to him and removed what afflicted him of adversity. And We gave him [back] his family and the like thereof with them as mercy from Us and a reminder for the worshippers [of Allah]
Al-Anbya 21:85
وَإِسۡمَٰعِيلَ وَإِدۡرِيسَ وَذَا ٱلۡكِفۡلِۖ كُلّٞ مِّنَ ٱلصَّـٰبِرِينَ
En (gedenk) Ismael en Idris en Dhoel-Kifl, allen behoorden tot degenen die geduldig waren.
And [mention] Ishmael and Idrees and Dhul-Kifl; all were of the patient
Al-Anbya 21:86
وَأَدۡخَلۡنَٰهُمۡ فِي رَحۡمَتِنَآۖ إِنَّهُم مِّنَ ٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ
En Wij hebben hen Onze genade gegeven. Waarlijk, zij behoorden tot de rechtgeleiden.
And We admitted them into Our mercy. Indeed, they were of the righteous
Al-Anbya 21:87
وَذَا ٱلنُّونِ إِذ ذَّهَبَ مُغَٰضِبٗا فَظَنَّ أَن لَّن نَّقۡدِرَ عَلَيۡهِ فَنَادَىٰ فِي ٱلظُّلُمَٰتِ أَن لَّآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّآ أَنتَ سُبۡحَٰنَكَ إِنِّي كُنتُ مِنَ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ
En (gedenk) Dhan-Noen (Jonas), toen hij buiten zichzelf van woede was en dacht dat Wij het hem niet zouden zwaar maken! Maar hij riep door de duisternis (en in de maag van de walvis riep Yoenoes zijn Heer aan): “Niets of niemand heeft het recht op mijn aanbidding dan U. Perfect en verheerlijkt ben U. Want waarlijk, ik behoorde tot de zondaren.”
And [mention] the man of the fish, when he went off in anger and thought that We would not decree [anything] upon him. And he called out within the darknesses, "There is no deity except You; exalted are You. Indeed, I have been of the wrongdoers
Al-Anbya 21:88
فَٱسۡتَجَبۡنَا لَهُۥ وَنَجَّيۡنَٰهُ مِنَ ٱلۡغَمِّۚ وَكَذَٰلِكَ نُـۨجِي ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ
Daarop verhoorden Wij zijn (voortdurende) aanroeping en verlosten Wij hem uit zijn ellendige en benarde situatie. En zo verlossen wij de gelovigen (van hun beproevingen).
So We responded to him and saved him from the distress. And thus do We save the believers
Al-Anbya 21:89
وَزَكَرِيَّآ إِذۡ نَادَىٰ رَبَّهُۥ رَبِّ لَا تَذَرۡنِي فَرۡدٗا وَأَنتَ خَيۡرُ ٱلۡوَٰرِثِينَ
En (gedenk) Zakariyyaa toen hij tot zijn Heer riep: “O Mijn Heer! Laat mij niet eenzaam achter hoewel U de beste van de Erfgenamen bent.”
And [mention] Zechariah, when he called to his Lord, "My Lord, do not leave me alone [with no heir], while you are the best of inheritors
Al-Anbya 21:90
فَٱسۡتَجَبۡنَا لَهُۥ وَوَهَبۡنَا لَهُۥ يَحۡيَىٰ وَأَصۡلَحۡنَا لَهُۥ زَوۡجَهُۥٓۚ إِنَّهُمۡ كَانُواْ يُسَٰرِعُونَ فِي ٱلۡخَيۡرَٰتِ وَيَدۡعُونَنَا رَغَبٗا وَرَهَبٗاۖ وَكَانُواْ لَنَا خَٰشِعِينَ
Dus beantwoordden Wij zijn roep en Wij gaven hem Yahya en genazen zijn vrouw voor hem. Waarlijk, zij haastten zich om het goede te doen en zij riepen Ons hoopvol en vol vrees aan en zij stelde zichzelf nederig op tegenover Ons.
So We responded to him, and We gave to him John, and amended for him his wife. Indeed, they used to hasten to good deeds and supplicate Us in hope and fear, and they were to Us humbly submissive
Al-Anbya 21:91
وَٱلَّتِيٓ أَحۡصَنَتۡ فَرۡجَهَا فَنَفَخۡنَا فِيهَا مِن رُّوحِنَا وَجَعَلۡنَٰهَا وَٱبۡنَهَآ ءَايَةٗ لِّلۡعَٰلَمِينَ
En (gedenk) zij die de kuisheid bewaarde Wij bliezen in haar en Wij maakten haar en haar zoon (Isa) een teken voor alle wereldwezens.
And [mention] the one who guarded her chastity, so We blew into her [garment] through Our angel [Gabriel], and We made her and her son a sign for the worlds
Al-Anbya 21:92
إِنَّ هَٰذِهِۦٓ أُمَّتُكُمۡ أُمَّةٗ وَٰحِدَةٗ وَأَنَا۠ رَبُّكُمۡ فَٱعۡبُدُونِ
Waarlijk! Dit, jullie godsdienst is één godsdienst en Ik ben jullie Heer, aanbid Mij dus (alleen).
Indeed this, your religion, is one religion, and I am your Lord, so worship Me
Al-Anbya 21:93
وَتَقَطَّعُوٓاْ أَمۡرَهُم بَيۡنَهُمۡۖ كُلٌّ إِلَيۡنَا رَٰجِعُونَ
Maar zij hebben hun godsdienst afgebroken en haar in sekten onder hen verdeeld. (En) zij zullen tot Ons terugkeren.
And [yet] they divided their affair among themselves, [but] all to Us will return
Al-Anbya 21:94
فَمَن يَعۡمَلۡ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَٰتِ وَهُوَ مُؤۡمِنٞ فَلَا كُفۡرَانَ لِسَعۡيِهِۦ وَإِنَّا لَهُۥ كَٰتِبُونَ
Dus iedereen die goede daden verricht terwijl hij een gelovige is, diens inspanningen zullen niet verworpen worden. Waarlijk! Wij noteren het in het Boek der daden.
So whoever does righteous deeds while he is a believer - no denial will there be for his effort, and indeed We, of it, are recorders
Al-Anbya 21:95
وَحَرَٰمٌ عَلَىٰ قَرۡيَةٍ أَهۡلَكۡنَٰهَآ أَنَّهُمۡ لَا يَرۡجِعُونَ
En er is een ban gelegd over iedere stad welke Wij vernietigd hebben, zodat zij niet kunnen terugkeren (na de dood).
And there is prohibition upon [the people of] a city which We have destroyed that they will [ever] return
Al-Anbya 21:96
حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا فُتِحَتۡ يَأۡجُوجُ وَمَأۡجُوجُ وَهُم مِّن كُلِّ حَدَبٖ يَنسِلُونَ
Tot Gog en Magog worden losgelaten, en zij snel over iedere omwalling uitzwermen.
Until when [the dam of] Gog and Magog has been opened and they, from every elevation, descend
Al-Anbya 21:97
وَٱقۡتَرَبَ ٱلۡوَعۡدُ ٱلۡحَقُّ فَإِذَا هِيَ شَٰخِصَةٌ أَبۡصَٰرُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ يَٰوَيۡلَنَا قَدۡ كُنَّا فِي غَفۡلَةٖ مِّنۡ هَٰذَا بَلۡ كُنَّا ظَٰلِمِينَ
En de Ware Belofte zal nabij zijn. Dan, zul je de ogen van de ongelovigen in afgrijzen zien staren. “Wee voor ons! Wij waren hier beslist achteloos voor; nee, wij waren niets dan onrechtvaardigen.”
And [when] the true promise has approached; then suddenly the eyes of those who disbelieved will be staring [in horror, while they say], "O woe to us; we had been unmindful of this; rather, we were wrongdoers
Al-Anbya 21:98
إِنَّكُمۡ وَمَا تَعۡبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ حَصَبُ جَهَنَّمَ أَنتُمۡ لَهَا وَٰرِدُونَ
Zeker! Jullie en wat jullie nu naast Allah aanbidden zijn niets meer dan brandstof voor de hel. Jullie zullen het binnentreden.
Indeed, you [disbelievers] and what you worship other than Allah are the firewood of Hell. You will be coming to [enter] it
Al-Anbya 21:99
لَوۡ كَانَ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ ءَالِهَةٗ مَّا وَرَدُوهَاۖ وَكُلّٞ فِيهَا خَٰلِدُونَ
Waren deze (beelden) goden geweest, dan zouden zij niet daarin gaan, en zij zullen daar allen in verblijven.
Had these [false deities] been [actual] gods, they would not have come to it, but all are eternal therein
Al-Anbya 21:100
لَهُمۡ فِيهَا زَفِيرٞ وَهُمۡ فِيهَا لَا يَسۡمَعُونَ
Daar zal diep zuchten worden en en zij zullen daarin niet horen.
For them therein is heavy sighing, and they therein will not hear
Al-Anbya 21:101
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ سَبَقَتۡ لَهُم مِّنَّا ٱلۡحُسۡنَىٰٓ أُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ عَنۡهَا مُبۡعَدُونَ
Waarlijk, voor degenen met wie wij het goede voorhebben, zullen ver van de (hel) verwijderd worden.
Indeed, those for whom the best [reward] has preceded from Us - they are from it far removed
Al-Anbya 21:102
لَا يَسۡمَعُونَ حَسِيسَهَاۖ وَهُمۡ فِي مَا ٱشۡتَهَتۡ أَنفُسُهُمۡ خَٰلِدُونَ
Zij zullen daar niet het minste geluid van horen (van het vuur), terwijl zij in datgene verblijven wat zij zelf wensen.
They will not hear its sound, while they are, in that which their souls desire, abiding eternally
Al-Anbya 21:103
لَا يَحۡزُنُهُمُ ٱلۡفَزَعُ ٱلۡأَكۡبَرُ وَتَتَلَقَّىٰهُمُ ٱلۡمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ هَٰذَا يَوۡمُكُمُ ٱلَّذِي كُنتُمۡ تُوعَدُونَ
De grootste verschrikking zal hen niet bedroeven en de engelen zullen hen ontmoeten (met een begroeting): “Dit is jullie Dag die jullie beloofd is.”
They will not be grieved by the greatest terror, and the angels will meet them, [saying], "This is your Day which you have been promised
Al-Anbya 21:104
يَوۡمَ نَطۡوِي ٱلسَّمَآءَ كَطَيِّ ٱلسِّجِلِّ لِلۡكُتُبِۚ كَمَا بَدَأۡنَآ أَوَّلَ خَلۡقٖ نُّعِيدُهُۥۚ وَعۡدًا عَلَيۡنَآۚ إِنَّا كُنَّا فَٰعِلِينَ
En (gedenk) de Dag wanneer Wij de hemelen zullen oprollen als een boekenrol, zoals Wij de eerste schepping begonnen, Wij zullen het herhalen (het is) een belofte die Ons bindt. Waarlijk, Wij zullen het doen.
The Day when We will fold the heaven like the folding of a [written] sheet for the records. As We began the first creation, We will repeat it. [That is] a promise binding upon Us. Indeed, We will do it
Al-Anbya 21:105
وَلَقَدۡ كَتَبۡنَا فِي ٱلزَّبُورِ مِنۢ بَعۡدِ ٱلذِّكۡرِ أَنَّ ٱلۡأَرۡضَ يَرِثُهَا عِبَادِيَ ٱلصَّـٰلِحُونَ
En voorwaar Wij hebben in de Zaboer (Psaslem) genoteerd nadat (Wij reeds in) het Boek dat in de hemel bij Allah is, genoteerd hebben, dat Mijn rechtvaardige dienaren het land zullen beërven.
And We have already written in the book [of Psalms] after the [previous] mention that the land [of Paradise] is inherited by My righteous servants
Al-Anbya 21:106
إِنَّ فِي هَٰذَا لَبَلَٰغٗا لِّقَوۡمٍ عَٰبِدِينَ
Waarlijk, hierin is een duidelijke Boodschap voor mensen die Allah aanbidden.
Indeed, in this [Qur'an] is notification for a worshipping people
Al-Anbya 21:107
وَمَآ أَرۡسَلۡنَٰكَ إِلَّا رَحۡمَةٗ لِّلۡعَٰلَمِينَ
En Wij hebben jou (de Profeet Mohammed, vrede en zegeningen zij met hem) niet anders dan als genade voor de wereldwezens gestuurd.
And We have not sent you, [O Muhammad], except as a mercy to the worlds
Al-Anbya 21:108
قُلۡ إِنَّمَا يُوحَىٰٓ إِلَيَّ أَنَّمَآ إِلَٰهُكُمۡ إِلَٰهٞ وَٰحِدٞۖ فَهَلۡ أَنتُم مُّسۡلِمُونَ
Zeg: “Het is aan mij geopenbaard dat jullie god slechts één God is. Zullen jullie je dan aan Zijn wil onderwerpen?”
Say, "It is only revealed to me that your god is but one God; so will you be Muslims [in submission to Him]
Al-Anbya 21:109
فَإِن تَوَلَّوۡاْ فَقُلۡ ءَاذَنتُكُمۡ عَلَىٰ سَوَآءٖۖ وَإِنۡ أَدۡرِيٓ أَقَرِيبٌ أَم بَعِيدٞ مَّا تُوعَدُونَ
Maar als zij zich afkeren zeg: “Ik geef jullie een aankondiging die voor ons allen gelijkelijk bekend wordt. En ik weet niet of datgene wat jullie beloofd is nabij of ver is.”
But if they turn away, then say, "I have announced to [all of] you equally. And I know not whether near or far is that which you are promised
Al-Anbya 21:110
إِنَّهُۥ يَعۡلَمُ ٱلۡجَهۡرَ مِنَ ٱلۡقَوۡلِ وَيَعۡلَمُ مَا تَكۡتُمُونَ
“Waarlijk, Hij (Allah) weet wat er luid gezegd is en wat jullie verbergen.
Indeed, He knows what is declared of speech, and He knows what you conceal
Al-Anbya 21:111
وَإِنۡ أَدۡرِي لَعَلَّهُۥ فِتۡنَةٞ لَّكُمۡ وَمَتَٰعٌ إِلَىٰ حِينٖ
En ik weet het niet, misschien is het een beproeving voor jullie en een vermaak voor enige tijd.”
And I know not; perhaps it is a trial for you and enjoyment for a time
Al-Anbya 21:112
قَٰلَ رَبِّ ٱحۡكُم بِٱلۡحَقِّۗ وَرَبُّنَا ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنُ ٱلۡمُسۡتَعَانُ عَلَىٰ مَا تَصِفُونَ
Zeg o Mohammed: “Mijn Heer! Beoordeelt U in waarheid! Onze Heer is de meest Barmhartige Wiens hulp gezocht wordt tegen datgene wat jullie aan Hem toekennen!”
[The Prophet] has said, "My Lord, judge [between us] in truth. And our Lord is the Most Merciful, the one whose help is sought against that which you describe
