Tafsir de la sourate Al-Waqi'ah
Al-Waqi'ah 56:1
إِذَا وَقَعَتِ ٱلۡوَاقِعَةُ
Lorsque l’Evénement inéluctable se produira,
When the Occurrence occurs
Al-Waqi'ah 56:2
لَيۡسَ لِوَقۡعَتِهَا كَاذِبَةٌ
nul ne pourra plus en contester l’avènement.
There is, at its occurrence, no denial
Al-Waqi'ah 56:3
خَافِضَةٞ رَّافِعَةٌ
Il rabaissera les uns, tout en élevant les autres.
It will bring down [some] and raise up [others]
Al-Waqi'ah 56:4
إِذَا رُجَّتِ ٱلۡأَرۡضُ رَجّٗا
Lorsque la terre sera violemment secouée,
When the earth is shaken with convulsion
Al-Waqi'ah 56:5
وَبُسَّتِ ٱلۡجِبَالُ بَسّٗا
et les montagnes entièrement pulvérisées,
And the mountains are broken down, crumbling
Al-Waqi'ah 56:6
فَكَانَتۡ هَبَآءٗ مُّنۢبَثّٗا
réduites à l’état de poussière dispersée,
And become dust dispersing
Al-Waqi'ah 56:7
وَكُنتُمۡ أَزۡوَٰجٗا ثَلَٰثَةٗ
vous formerez alors trois groupes distincts.
And you become [of] three kinds
Al-Waqi'ah 56:8
فَأَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلۡمَيۡمَنَةِ مَآ أَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلۡمَيۡمَنَةِ
Tout d’abord les gens de la droite - mais que dire des gens de la droite !
Then the companions of the right - what are the companions of the right
Al-Waqi'ah 56:9
وَأَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلۡمَشۡـَٔمَةِ مَآ أَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلۡمَشۡـَٔمَةِ
Ensuite les gens de la gauche - mais que dire des gens de la gauche !
And the companions of the left - what are the companions of the left
Al-Waqi'ah 56:10
وَٱلسَّـٰبِقُونَ ٱلسَّـٰبِقُونَ
Et enfin les premiers à accomplir le bien qui seront les premiers à être honorés.
And the forerunners, the forerunners
Al-Waqi'ah 56:11
أُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ ٱلۡمُقَرَّبُونَ
Ceux-là formeront le groupe des rapprochés
Those are the ones brought near [to Allah]
Al-Waqi'ah 56:12
فِي جَنَّـٰتِ ٱلنَّعِيمِ
qui seront admis dans les jardins de la félicité,
In the Gardens of Pleasure
Al-Waqi'ah 56:13
ثُلَّةٞ مِّنَ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ
en grand nombre parmi les premières générations,
A [large] company of the former peoples
Al-Waqi'ah 56:14
وَقَلِيلٞ مِّنَ ٱلۡأٓخِرِينَ
en petit nombre parmi les dernières générations.
And a few of the later peoples
Al-Waqi'ah 56:15
عَلَىٰ سُرُرٖ مَّوۡضُونَةٖ
Ils reposeront sur des couches d’or tressées
On thrones woven [with ornament]
Al-Waqi'ah 56:16
مُّتَّكِـِٔينَ عَلَيۡهَا مُتَقَٰبِلِينَ
où, accoudés, les uns feront face aux autres.
Reclining on them, facing each other
Al-Waqi'ah 56:17
يَطُوفُ عَلَيۡهِمۡ وِلۡدَٰنٞ مُّخَلَّدُونَ
Parmi eux circuleront des serviteurs d’une éternelle jeunesse
There will circulate among them young boys made eternal
Al-Waqi'ah 56:18
بِأَكۡوَابٖ وَأَبَارِيقَ وَكَأۡسٖ مِّن مَّعِينٖ
portant des coupes et des aiguières remplies d’un vin puisé à une source vive
With vessels, pitchers and a cup [of wine] from a flowing spring
Al-Waqi'ah 56:19
لَّا يُصَدَّعُونَ عَنۡهَا وَلَا يُنزِفُونَ
ne provoquant ni maux de tête, ni ivresse,
No headache will they have therefrom, nor will they be intoxicated
Al-Waqi'ah 56:20
وَفَٰكِهَةٖ مِّمَّا يَتَخَيَّرُونَ
ainsi que des fruits de leur choix
And fruit of what they select
Al-Waqi'ah 56:21
وَلَحۡمِ طَيۡرٖ مِّمَّا يَشۡتَهُونَ
et la chair des oiseaux les plus désirables.
And the meat of fowl, from whatever they desire
Al-Waqi'ah 56:22
وَحُورٌ عِينٞ
Ils seront unis à des houris aux grands yeux noirs,
And [for them are] fair women with large, [beautiful] eyes
Al-Waqi'ah 56:23
كَأَمۡثَٰلِ ٱللُّؤۡلُوِٕ ٱلۡمَكۡنُونِ
telles des perles précieusement conservées,
The likenesses of pearls well-protected
Al-Waqi'ah 56:24
جَزَآءَۢ بِمَا كَانُواْ يَعۡمَلُونَ
en récompense de leurs œuvres passées.
As reward for what they used to do
Al-Waqi'ah 56:25
لَا يَسۡمَعُونَ فِيهَا لَغۡوٗا وَلَا تَأۡثِيمًا
Ils n’y entendront ni paroles indignes, ni même futilités.
They will not hear therein ill speech or commission of sin
Al-Waqi'ah 56:26
إِلَّا قِيلٗا سَلَٰمٗا سَلَٰمٗا
mais seulement les mots : « Paix à vous », sans cesse répétés.
Only a saying: "Peace, peace
Al-Waqi'ah 56:27
وَأَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلۡيَمِينِ مَآ أَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلۡيَمِينِ
Quant aux gens de la droite - et que dire des gens de la droite ! -,
The companions of the right - what are the companions of the right
Al-Waqi'ah 56:28
فِي سِدۡرٖ مَّخۡضُودٖ
ils vivront au milieu de jujubiers sans épines,
[They will be] among lote trees with thorns removed
Al-Waqi'ah 56:29
وَطَلۡحٖ مَّنضُودٖ
et de bananiers aux régimes bien fournis,
And [banana] trees layered [with fruit]
Al-Waqi'ah 56:30
وَظِلّٖ مَّمۡدُودٖ
sous une ombre étendue qui jamais ne disparaît.
And shade extended
Al-Waqi'ah 56:31
وَمَآءٖ مَّسۡكُوبٖ
Il y aura là pour eux une eau qui jamais ne tarit,
And water poured out
Al-Waqi'ah 56:32
وَفَٰكِهَةٖ كَثِيرَةٖ
et une multitude de fruits aux goûts variés,
And fruit, abundant [and varied]
Al-Waqi'ah 56:33
لَّا مَقۡطُوعَةٖ وَلَا مَمۡنُوعَةٖ
jamais épuisés et aucunement prohibés.
Neither limited [to season] nor forbidden
Al-Waqi'ah 56:34
وَفُرُشٖ مَّرۡفُوعَةٍ
Ils reposeront sur des couches surélevées
And [upon] beds raised high
Al-Waqi'ah 56:35
إِنَّآ أَنشَأۡنَٰهُنَّ إِنشَآءٗ
en compagnie d’épouses que Nous avons créées
Indeed, We have produced the women of Paradise in a [new] creation
Al-Waqi'ah 56:36
فَجَعَلۡنَٰهُنَّ أَبۡكَارًا
en leur donnant une éternelle virginité,
And made them virgins
Al-Waqi'ah 56:37
عُرُبًا أَتۡرَابٗا
les rendant désirables et d’égale jeunesse
Devoted [to their husbands] and of equal age
Al-Waqi'ah 56:38
لِّأَصۡحَٰبِ ٱلۡيَمِينِ
à l’intention des gens de la droite.
For the companions of the right [who are]
Al-Waqi'ah 56:39
ثُلَّةٞ مِّنَ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ
Un grand nombre sera issu des premières générations,
A company of the former peoples
Al-Waqi'ah 56:40
وَثُلَّةٞ مِّنَ ٱلۡأٓخِرِينَ
mais aussi un grand nombre des dernières générations.
And a company of the later peoples
Al-Waqi'ah 56:41
وَأَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلشِّمَالِ مَآ أَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلشِّمَالِ
Quant aux gens de la gauche - et que dire des gens de la gauche ! -,
And the companions of the left - what are the companions of the left
Al-Waqi'ah 56:42
فِي سَمُومٖ وَحَمِيمٖ
leur sont réservés un souffle brûlant et une eau bouillante,
[They will be] in scorching fire and scalding water
Al-Waqi'ah 56:43
وَظِلّٖ مِّن يَحۡمُومٖ
à l’ombre d’une épaisse fumée noire,
And a shade of black smoke
Al-Waqi'ah 56:44
لَّا بَارِدٖ وَلَا كَرِيمٍ
ne procurant ni fraîcheur, ni bien-être.
Neither cool nor beneficial
Al-Waqi'ah 56:45
إِنَّهُمۡ كَانُواْ قَبۡلَ ذَٰلِكَ مُتۡرَفِينَ
Ils jouissaient sans retenue des plaisirs de la vie,
Indeed they were, before that, indulging in affluence
Al-Waqi'ah 56:46
وَكَانُواْ يُصِرُّونَ عَلَى ٱلۡحِنثِ ٱلۡعَظِيمِ
et persistaient dans la plus infâme impiété,
And they used to persist in the great violation
Al-Waqi'ah 56:47
وَكَانُواْ يَقُولُونَ أَئِذَا مِتۡنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابٗا وَعِظَٰمًا أَءِنَّا لَمَبۡعُوثُونَ
disant : « Serons-nous, une fois morts et nos os réduits en poussière, ressuscités
And they used to say, "When we die and become dust and bones, are we indeed to be resurrected
Al-Waqi'ah 56:48
أَوَءَابَآؤُنَا ٱلۡأَوَّلُونَ
ainsi que nos ancêtres les plus éloignés ? »
And our forefathers [as well]
Al-Waqi'ah 56:49
قُلۡ إِنَّ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ وَٱلۡأٓخِرِينَ
Dis : « Les premiers hommes et les derniers
Say, [O Muhammad], "Indeed, the former and the later peoples
Al-Waqi'ah 56:50
لَمَجۡمُوعُونَ إِلَىٰ مِيقَٰتِ يَوۡمٖ مَّعۡلُومٖ
seront tous rassemblés en un jour déjà fixé. »
Are to be gathered together for the appointment of a known Day
Al-Waqi'ah 56:51
ثُمَّ إِنَّكُمۡ أَيُّهَا ٱلضَّآلُّونَ ٱلۡمُكَذِّبُونَ
Puis vous, les égarés qui ne cessiez de crier au mensonge,
Then indeed you, O those astray [who are] deniers
Al-Waqi'ah 56:52
لَأٓكِلُونَ مِن شَجَرٖ مِّن زَقُّومٖ
vous mangerez assurément des fruits de l’arbre Zaqqoum
Will be eating from trees of zaqqum
Al-Waqi'ah 56:53
فَمَالِـُٔونَ مِنۡهَا ٱلۡبُطُونَ
dont vous serez contraints de vous remplir le ventre,
And filling with it your bellies
Al-Waqi'ah 56:54
فَشَٰرِبُونَ عَلَيۡهِ مِنَ ٱلۡحَمِيمِ
avant de boire par-dessus une eau extrêmement bouillante
And drinking on top of it from scalding water
Al-Waqi'ah 56:55
فَشَٰرِبُونَ شُرۡبَ ٱلۡهِيمِ
que vous avalerez, tel un troupeau de chameaux assoiffés.
And will drink as the drinking of thirsty camels
Al-Waqi'ah 56:56
هَٰذَا نُزُلُهُمۡ يَوۡمَ ٱلدِّينِ
Voilà donc l’accueil qui leur sera réservé le Jour de la rétribution.
That is their accommodation on the Day of Recompense
Al-Waqi'ah 56:57
نَحۡنُ خَلَقۡنَٰكُمۡ فَلَوۡلَا تُصَدِّقُونَ
C’est Nous qui vous avons créés. Si seulement vous pouviez croire en la Résurrection !
We have created you, so why do you not believe
Al-Waqi'ah 56:58
أَفَرَءَيۡتُم مَّا تُمۡنُونَ
Avez-vous considéré le liquide que vous répandez ?
Have you seen that which you emit
Al-Waqi'ah 56:59
ءَأَنتُمۡ تَخۡلُقُونَهُۥٓ أَمۡ نَحۡنُ ٱلۡخَٰلِقُونَ
Est-ce vous ou bien Nous qui l’avons créé ?
Is it you who creates it, or are We the Creator
Al-Waqi'ah 56:60
نَحۡنُ قَدَّرۡنَا بَيۡنَكُمُ ٱلۡمَوۡتَ وَمَا نَحۡنُ بِمَسۡبُوقِينَ
C’est Nous qui vous avons prédestiné la mort et rien ne pourra Nous empêcher
We have decreed death among you, and We are not to be outdone
Al-Waqi'ah 56:61
عَلَىٰٓ أَن نُّبَدِّلَ أَمۡثَٰلَكُمۡ وَنُنشِئَكُمۡ فِي مَا لَا تَعۡلَمُونَ
de vous remplacer par d’autres hommes comme vous ou d’un aspect différent de celui que vous connaissez.
In that We will change your likenesses and produce you in that [form] which you do not know
Al-Waqi'ah 56:62
وَلَقَدۡ عَلِمۡتُمُ ٱلنَّشۡأَةَ ٱلۡأُولَىٰ فَلَوۡلَا تَذَكَّرُونَ
Vous savez pourtant que Nous avons procédé à la première création. Si seulement vous réfléchissiez ?
And you have already known the first creation, so will you not remember
Al-Waqi'ah 56:63
أَفَرَءَيۡتُم مَّا تَحۡرُثُونَ
Avez-vous considéré ce que vous semez ?
And have you seen that [seed] which you sow
Al-Waqi'ah 56:64
ءَأَنتُمۡ تَزۡرَعُونَهُۥٓ أَمۡ نَحۡنُ ٱلزَّـٰرِعُونَ
Est-ce vous ou bien Nous qui le faisons germer ?
Is it you who makes it grow, or are We the grower
Al-Waqi'ah 56:65
لَوۡ نَشَآءُ لَجَعَلۡنَٰهُ حُطَٰمٗا فَظَلۡتُمۡ تَفَكَّهُونَ
Si Nous le voulions, Nous le ferions sécher sur pied. Vous ne cesseriez alors de vous lamenter :
If We willed, We could make it [dry] debris, and you would remain in wonder
Al-Waqi'ah 56:66
إِنَّا لَمُغۡرَمُونَ
« Nous voilà totalement ruinés !
[Saying], "Indeed, we are [now] in debt
Al-Waqi'ah 56:67
بَلۡ نَحۡنُ مَحۡرُومُونَ
Ou plutôt entièrement déshérités ! »
Rather, we have been deprived
Al-Waqi'ah 56:68
أَفَرَءَيۡتُمُ ٱلۡمَآءَ ٱلَّذِي تَشۡرَبُونَ
Avez-vous considéré l’eau que vous buvez ?
And have you seen the water that you drink
Al-Waqi'ah 56:69
ءَأَنتُمۡ أَنزَلۡتُمُوهُ مِنَ ٱلۡمُزۡنِ أَمۡ نَحۡنُ ٱلۡمُنزِلُونَ
Est-ce vous ou bien Nous qui la faisons descendre des nuées ?
Is it you who brought it down from the clouds, or is it We who bring it down
Al-Waqi'ah 56:70
لَوۡ نَشَآءُ جَعَلۡنَٰهُ أُجَاجٗا فَلَوۡلَا تَشۡكُرُونَ
Si Nous le voulions, Nous la rendrions saumâtre. Si seulement vous vous montriez reconnaissants !
If We willed, We could make it bitter, so why are you not grateful
Al-Waqi'ah 56:71
أَفَرَءَيۡتُمُ ٱلنَّارَ ٱلَّتِي تُورُونَ
Avez-vous considéré le feu que vous allumez ?
And have you seen the fire that you ignite
Al-Waqi'ah 56:72
ءَأَنتُمۡ أَنشَأۡتُمۡ شَجَرَتَهَآ أَمۡ نَحۡنُ ٱلۡمُنشِـُٔونَ
Est-ce vous ou bien Nous qui avons créé le bois d’où il jaillit ?
Is it you who produced its tree, or are We the producer
Al-Waqi'ah 56:73
نَحۡنُ جَعَلۡنَٰهَا تَذۡكِرَةٗ وَمَتَٰعٗا لِّلۡمُقۡوِينَ
Nous en avons fait un avertissement et un élément utile aux voyageurs.
We have made it a reminder and provision for the travelers
Al-Waqi'ah 56:74
فَسَبِّحۡ بِٱسۡمِ رَبِّكَ ٱلۡعَظِيمِ
Exalte donc le nom de ton Seigneur, le Très Glorieux !
So exalt the name of your Lord, the Most Great
Al-Waqi'ah 56:75
۞فَلَآ أُقۡسِمُ بِمَوَٰقِعِ ٱلنُّجُومِ
Je jure par la position des étoiles
Then I swear by the setting of the stars
Al-Waqi'ah 56:76
وَإِنَّهُۥ لَقَسَمٞ لَّوۡ تَعۡلَمُونَ عَظِيمٌ
- et c’est un serment des plus solennels, si vous saviez -
And indeed, it is an oath - if you could know - [most] great
Al-Waqi'ah 56:77
إِنَّهُۥ لَقُرۡءَانٞ كَرِيمٞ
que le Coran est une sublime récitation,
Indeed, it is a noble Qur'an
Al-Waqi'ah 56:78
فِي كِتَٰبٖ مَّكۡنُونٖ
dans un livre soigneusement gardé,
In a Register well-protected
Al-Waqi'ah 56:79
لَّا يَمَسُّهُۥٓ إِلَّا ٱلۡمُطَهَّرُونَ
que seuls les êtres purs peuvent toucher,
None touch it except the purified
Al-Waqi'ah 56:80
تَنزِيلٞ مِّن رَّبِّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ
révélée par le Seigneur de la Création.
[It is] a revelation from the Lord of the worlds
Al-Waqi'ah 56:81
أَفَبِهَٰذَا ٱلۡحَدِيثِ أَنتُم مُّدۡهِنُونَ
Est-ce ce discours dont vous contestez l’authenticité,
Then is it to this statement that you are indifferent
Al-Waqi'ah 56:82
وَتَجۡعَلُونَ رِزۡقَكُمۡ أَنَّكُمۡ تُكَذِّبُونَ
répondant aux grâces du Seigneur par la plus infâme ingratitude ?
And make [the thanks for] your provision that you deny [the Provider]
Al-Waqi'ah 56:83
فَلَوۡلَآ إِذَا بَلَغَتِ ٱلۡحُلۡقُومَ
Si seulement, lorsque l’âme remonte à la gorge,
Then why, when the soul at death reaches the throat
Al-Waqi'ah 56:84
وَأَنتُمۡ حِينَئِذٖ تَنظُرُونَ
tandis que, tout autour de lui, vous regardez,
And you are at that time looking on
Al-Waqi'ah 56:85
وَنَحۡنُ أَقۡرَبُ إِلَيۡهِ مِنكُمۡ وَلَٰكِن لَّا تُبۡصِرُونَ
- Nous sommes alors plus proche du mourant que vous sans que vous vous en aperceviez -
And Our angels are nearer to him than you, but you do not see
Al-Waqi'ah 56:86
فَلَوۡلَآ إِن كُنتُمۡ غَيۡرَ مَدِينِينَ
si seulement donc, si vous pensez ne jamais devoir être jugés,
Then why do you not, if you are not to be recompensed
Al-Waqi'ah 56:87
تَرۡجِعُونَهَآ إِن كُنتُمۡ صَٰدِقِينَ
vous faisiez revenir cette âme, si vous dites la vérité ?
Bring it back, if you should be truthful
Al-Waqi'ah 56:88
فَأَمَّآ إِن كَانَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُقَرَّبِينَ
Si le moribond est du nombre des rapprochés,
And if the deceased was of those brought near to Allah
Al-Waqi'ah 56:89
فَرَوۡحٞ وَرَيۡحَانٞ وَجَنَّتُ نَعِيمٖ
il est promis au repos éternel dans le Jardin de la félicité.
Then [for him is] rest and bounty and a garden of pleasure
Al-Waqi'ah 56:90
وَأَمَّآ إِن كَانَ مِنۡ أَصۡحَٰبِ ٱلۡيَمِينِ
Et s’il est du nombre des gens de la droite,
And if he was of the companions of the right
Al-Waqi'ah 56:91
فَسَلَٰمٞ لَّكَ مِنۡ أَصۡحَٰبِ ٱلۡيَمِينِ
il lui sera dit : « Tu es sauvé, car tu fais partie des gens de la droite. »
Then [the angels will say], "Peace for you; [you are] from the companions of the right
Al-Waqi'ah 56:92
وَأَمَّآ إِن كَانَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُكَذِّبِينَ ٱلضَّآلِّينَ
Mais s’il est du nombre des négateurs égarés,
But if he was of the deniers [who were] astray
Al-Waqi'ah 56:93
فَنُزُلٞ مِّنۡ حَمِيمٖ
il sera accueilli par une eau à son plus haut degré
Then [for him is] accommodation of scalding water
Al-Waqi'ah 56:94
وَتَصۡلِيَةُ جَحِيمٍ
et introduit dans le Brasier pour y brûler.
And burning in Hellfire
Al-Waqi'ah 56:95
إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَهُوَ حَقُّ ٱلۡيَقِينِ
Tout ceci est l’absolue vérité, à n’en point douter.
Indeed, this is the true certainty
Al-Waqi'ah 56:96
فَسَبِّحۡ بِٱسۡمِ رَبِّكَ ٱلۡعَظِيمِ
Exalte donc le nom de ton Seigneur, le Très Glorieux !
So exalt the name of your Lord, the Most Great
