Soera Ya-Sin (36) — Ya-Sin · يس
Mekkaanse soera, 83 verzen, als 41e geopenbaard.
Het hart van de boodschap: openbaring, tekenen in de schepping en opstanding.
Ya-Sin 36:1
يسٓ
Ya sien.
Ya, Seen
Ya-Sin 36:2
وَٱلۡقُرۡءَانِ ٱلۡحَكِيمِ
Bij de Koran, vol wijsheid (Allah zweert op wat Hij wilt van zijn schepping, maar zijn dienaren mogen alleen op Allah zweren).
By the wise Qur'an
Ya-Sin 36:3
إِنَّكَ لَمِنَ ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِينَ
Waarlijk, jij bent één van de boodschappers,
Indeed you, [O Muhammad], are from among the messengers
Ya-Sin 36:4
عَلَىٰ صِرَٰطٖ مُّسۡتَقِيمٖ
Op een rechte weg.
On a straight path
Ya-Sin 36:5
تَنزِيلَ ٱلۡعَزِيزِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
(Dit is) een openbaring die door de Almachtige, de Genadevolle is gestuurd,
[This is] a revelation of the Exalted in Might, the Merciful
Ya-Sin 36:6
لِتُنذِرَ قَوۡمٗا مَّآ أُنذِرَ ءَابَآؤُهُمۡ فَهُمۡ غَٰفِلُونَ
Zodat jij (o Mohammed) een volk wiens voorvaders niet gewaarschuwd zijn en dus waren zij onachtzaam.
That you may warn a people whose forefathers were not warned, so they are unaware
Ya-Sin 36:7
لَقَدۡ حَقَّ ٱلۡقَوۡلُ عَلَىٰٓ أَكۡثَرِهِمۡ فَهُمۡ لَا يُؤۡمِنُونَ
Voorwaar het woord (van de bestraffing) is voor de meesten van hen bepaald, dus zullen zij niet geloven.
Already the word has come into effect upon most of them, so they do not believe
Ya-Sin 36:8
إِنَّا جَعَلۡنَا فِيٓ أَعۡنَٰقِهِمۡ أَغۡلَٰلٗا فَهِيَ إِلَى ٱلۡأَذۡقَانِ فَهُم مُّقۡمَحُونَ
Waarlijk! Wij hebben om hun nekken ijzeren kettingen geplaatst die tot hun kinnen reiken, waardoor hun hoofd omlaag gedwongen wordt.
Indeed, We have put shackles on their necks, and they are to their chins, so they are with heads [kept] aloft
Ya-Sin 36:9
وَجَعَلۡنَا مِنۢ بَيۡنِ أَيۡدِيهِمۡ سَدّٗا وَمِنۡ خَلۡفِهِمۡ سَدّٗا فَأَغۡشَيۡنَٰهُمۡ فَهُمۡ لَا يُبۡصِرُونَ
En Wij hebben een hindernis voor hen gelegd, en een hindernis achter hen en Wij hebben hun bedekt zodat zij niet kunnen zien.
And We have put before them a barrier and behind them a barrier and covered them, so they do not see
Ya-Sin 36:10
وَسَوَآءٌ عَلَيۡهِمۡ ءَأَنذَرۡتَهُمۡ أَمۡ لَمۡ تُنذِرۡهُمۡ لَا يُؤۡمِنُونَ
Het maakt hen niet uit of je hen waarschuwt of niet, zij zullen niet geloven.
And it is all the same for them whether you warn them or do not warn them - they will not believe
Ya-Sin 36:11
إِنَّمَا تُنذِرُ مَنِ ٱتَّبَعَ ٱلذِّكۡرَ وَخَشِيَ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنَ بِٱلۡغَيۡبِۖ فَبَشِّرۡهُ بِمَغۡفِرَةٖ وَأَجۡرٖ كَرِيمٍ
Jij kan slechts degene waarschuwen die de Vermaning volgt en de Barmhartigste ongezien vreest. Geef deze mensen het goede nieuws van de vergiffenis en de gulle beloning.
You can only warn one who follows the message and fears the Most Merciful unseen. So give him good tidings of forgiveness and noble reward
Ya-Sin 36:12
إِنَّا نَحۡنُ نُحۡيِ ٱلۡمَوۡتَىٰ وَنَكۡتُبُ مَا قَدَّمُواْ وَءَاثَٰرَهُمۡۚ وَكُلَّ شَيۡءٍ أَحۡصَيۡنَٰهُ فِيٓ إِمَامٖ مُّبِينٖ
Waarlijk, Wij geven leven aan de doden en Wij noteren wat zij vooruit hebben gezonden en hun sporen (leggen we ook vast) en alle dingen hebben Wij opgesomd (genoteerd) in een duidelijk Boek.
Indeed, it is We who bring the dead to life and record what they have put forth and what they left behind, and all things We have enumerated in a clear register
Ya-Sin 36:13
وَٱضۡرِبۡ لَهُم مَّثَلًا أَصۡحَٰبَ ٱلۡقَرۡيَةِ إِذۡ جَآءَهَا ٱلۡمُرۡسَلُونَ
En geef hen een voorbeeld: het (verhaal van de) bewoners van de stad. Toen er boodschappers tot hen kwamen.
And present to them an example: the people of the city, when the messengers came to it
Ya-Sin 36:14
إِذۡ أَرۡسَلۡنَآ إِلَيۡهِمُ ٱثۡنَيۡنِ فَكَذَّبُوهُمَا فَعَزَّزۡنَا بِثَالِثٖ فَقَالُوٓاْ إِنَّآ إِلَيۡكُم مُّرۡسَلُونَ
Toen Wij hen twee boodschappers hadden gezonden verloochenden zij hen beiden, dus versterkten Wij hen met een derde, en zij zeiden: “Waarlijk! Wij zijn als boodschappers naar jullie gestuurd.”
When We sent to them two but they denied them, so We strengthened them with a third, and they said, "Indeed, we are messengers to you
Ya-Sin 36:15
قَالُواْ مَآ أَنتُمۡ إِلَّا بَشَرٞ مِّثۡلُنَا وَمَآ أَنزَلَ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنُ مِن شَيۡءٍ إِنۡ أَنتُمۡ إِلَّا تَكۡذِبُونَ
Zij zeiden: “Jullie zijn slechts mensen zoals wij, en de Barmhartigste heeft niets geopenbaard, jullie vertellen slechts leugens.”
They said, "You are not but human beings like us, and the Most Merciful has not revealed a thing. You are only telling lies
Ya-Sin 36:16
قَالُواْ رَبُّنَا يَعۡلَمُ إِنَّآ إِلَيۡكُمۡ لَمُرۡسَلُونَ
De boodschappers zeiden: “Onze Heer weet dat wij als boodschappers tot jullie zijn gestuurd, -
They said, "Our Lord knows that we are messengers to you
Ya-Sin 36:17
وَمَا عَلَيۡنَآ إِلَّا ٱلۡبَلَٰغُ ٱلۡمُبِينُ
En het is slechts onze plicht om duidelijk te verkondigen.”
And we are not responsible except for clear notification
Ya-Sin 36:18
قَالُوٓاْ إِنَّا تَطَيَّرۡنَا بِكُمۡۖ لَئِن لَّمۡ تَنتَهُواْ لَنَرۡجُمَنَّكُمۡ وَلَيَمَسَّنَّكُم مِّنَّا عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٞ
De (mensen) zeiden: “Wat ons betreft, wij zien een kwaad voorteken in jullie, als jullie niet stoppen, zullen wij jullie zeker stenigen en een pijnlijke bestraffing zal jullie van ons treffen.”
They said, "Indeed, we consider you a bad omen. If you do not desist, we will surely stone you, and there will surely touch you, from us, a painful punishment
Ya-Sin 36:19
قَالُواْ طَـٰٓئِرُكُم مَّعَكُمۡ أَئِن ذُكِّرۡتُمۚ بَلۡ أَنتُمۡ قَوۡمٞ مُّسۡرِفُونَ
Zij zeiden: “Jullie kwade voortekenen zijn bij jullie! (Is het) omdat jullie vermaand worden? Nee, jullie zijn een volk dat buitensporig is."
They said, "Your omen is with yourselves. Is it because you were reminded? Rather, you are a transgressing people
Ya-Sin 36:20
وَجَآءَ مِنۡ أَقۡصَا ٱلۡمَدِينَةِ رَجُلٞ يَسۡعَىٰ قَالَ يَٰقَوۡمِ ٱتَّبِعُواْ ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِينَ
En er kwam van het verste gedeelte van de stad een man aanrennen die zei: “O mijn volk! Gehoorzaam de boodschappers;
And there came from the farthest end of the city a man, running. He said, "O my people, follow the messengers
Ya-Sin 36:21
ٱتَّبِعُواْ مَن لَّا يَسۡـَٔلُكُمۡ أَجۡرٗا وَهُم مُّهۡتَدُونَ
Gehoorzaam degenen die geen betaling van jullie vragen, en die rechtgeleid zijn.
Follow those who do not ask of you [any] payment, and they are [rightly] guided
Ya-Sin 36:22
وَمَالِيَ لَآ أَعۡبُدُ ٱلَّذِي فَطَرَنِي وَإِلَيۡهِ تُرۡجَعُونَ
En waarom zou ik Hem (Allah) niet aanbidden Die mij geschapen heeft en tot Wie ik zal terugkeren.
And why should I not worship He who created me and to whom you will be returned
Ya-Sin 36:23
ءَأَتَّخِذُ مِن دُونِهِۦٓ ءَالِهَةً إِن يُرِدۡنِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنُ بِضُرّٖ لَّا تُغۡنِ عَنِّي شَفَٰعَتُهُمۡ شَيۡـٔٗا وَلَا يُنقِذُونِ
Zal ik naast hem valse goden aanbidden als de Barmhartigste mij kwaad wil berokken dan hun bemiddeling nutteloos voor mij zijn noch kunnen zij mij redden?
Should I take other than Him [false] deities [while], if the Most Merciful intends for me some adversity, their intercession will not avail me at all, nor can they save me
Ya-Sin 36:24
إِنِّيٓ إِذٗا لَّفِي ضَلَٰلٖ مُّبِينٍ
Dan voorwaar zal ik in een duidelijke afdwaling verkeren.
Indeed, I would then be in manifest error
Ya-Sin 36:25
إِنِّيٓ ءَامَنتُ بِرَبِّكُمۡ فَٱسۡمَعُونِ
Waarlijk! Ik heb in jullie Heer geloofd, luister dus naar mij!”
Indeed, I have believed in your Lord, so listen to me
Ya-Sin 36:26
قِيلَ ٱدۡخُلِ ٱلۡجَنَّةَۖ قَالَ يَٰلَيۡتَ قَوۡمِي يَعۡلَمُونَ
Er werd gezegd (nadat zijn volk hem vermoord had): “Treed het paradijs binnen.” Hij zei: “Ik wou dat mijn volk het maar wist!-
It was said, "Enter Paradise." He said, "I wish my people could know
Ya-Sin 36:27
بِمَا غَفَرَ لِي رَبِّي وَجَعَلَنِي مِنَ ٱلۡمُكۡرَمِينَ
Dat mijn Heer mij heeft vergeven en mij tot één van de edelen heeft gemaakt!”
Of how my Lord has forgiven me and placed me among the honored
Ya-Sin 36:28
۞وَمَآ أَنزَلۡنَا عَلَىٰ قَوۡمِهِۦ مِنۢ بَعۡدِهِۦ مِن جُندٖ مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ وَمَا كُنَّا مُنزِلِينَ
En Wij hebben niet na hem (zijn dood) een leger uit de hemel naar zijn volk gestuurd noch sturen Wij hen.
And We did not send down upon his people after him any soldiers from the heaven, nor would We have done so
Ya-Sin 36:29
إِن كَانَتۡ إِلَّا صَيۡحَةٗ وَٰحِدَةٗ فَإِذَا هُمۡ خَٰمِدُونَ
Er was slechts een enkele afschuwelijke schreeuw en zie! Zij waren vernietigd.
It was not but one shout, and immediately they were extinguished
Ya-Sin 36:30
يَٰحَسۡرَةً عَلَى ٱلۡعِبَادِۚ مَا يَأۡتِيهِم مِّن رَّسُولٍ إِلَّا كَانُواْ بِهِۦ يَسۡتَهۡزِءُونَ
Spijtig voor de dienaren (die niet naar Allah luisteren) er is geen boodschapper tot hen gekomen of zij dreven de spot met hem.
How regretful for the servants. There did not come to them any messenger except that they used to ridicule him
Ya-Sin 36:31
أَلَمۡ يَرَوۡاْ كَمۡ أَهۡلَكۡنَا قَبۡلَهُم مِّنَ ٱلۡقُرُونِ أَنَّهُمۡ إِلَيۡهِمۡ لَا يَرۡجِعُونَ
Hebben zij niet gezien hoeveel generaties Wij vóór hen vernietigd hebben? Waarlijk, zij zullen niet tot hen terugkeren.
Have they not considered how many generations We destroyed before them - that they to them will not return
Ya-Sin 36:32
وَإِن كُلّٞ لَّمَّا جَمِيعٞ لَّدَيۡنَا مُحۡضَرُونَ
En zeker allen – ieder van hen zal voor Ons gebracht worden.
And indeed, all of them will yet be brought present before Us
Ya-Sin 36:33
وَءَايَةٞ لَّهُمُ ٱلۡأَرۡضُ ٱلۡمَيۡتَةُ أَحۡيَيۡنَٰهَا وَأَخۡرَجۡنَا مِنۡهَا حَبّٗا فَمِنۡهُ يَأۡكُلُونَ
En een teken voor hen is het dode land. Wij gaven het leven, en Wij brachten daar granen uit voort, zodat zij daarvan eten.
And a sign for them is the dead earth. We have brought it to life and brought forth from it grain, and from it they eat
Ya-Sin 36:34
وَجَعَلۡنَا فِيهَا جَنَّـٰتٖ مِّن نَّخِيلٖ وَأَعۡنَٰبٖ وَفَجَّرۡنَا فِيهَا مِنَ ٱلۡعُيُونِ
En Wij hebben daarin tuinen van dadelpalmen en druiven gemaakt en Wij hebben ervoor gezorgd dat waterbronnen daarin stromen.
And We placed therein gardens of palm trees and grapevines and caused to burst forth therefrom some springs
Ya-Sin 36:35
لِيَأۡكُلُواْ مِن ثَمَرِهِۦ وَمَا عَمِلَتۡهُ أَيۡدِيهِمۡۚ أَفَلَا يَشۡكُرُونَ
Zodat zij van het fruit daarvan mogen eten, en hun handen hebben het niet gemaakt. Zullen zij dan niet dankbaar zijn?
That they may eat of His fruit. And their hands have not produced it, so will they not be grateful
Ya-Sin 36:36
سُبۡحَٰنَ ٱلَّذِي خَلَقَ ٱلۡأَزۡوَٰجَ كُلَّهَا مِمَّا تُنۢبِتُ ٱلۡأَرۡضُ وَمِنۡ أَنفُسِهِمۡ وَمِمَّا لَا يَعۡلَمُونَ
Verheven is Hij Die alle paren geschapen heeft van wat de aarde produceert, en paren van hun eigen soort en van datgene waar zij niets van weten.
Exalted is He who created all pairs - from what the earth grows and from themselves and from that which they do not know
Ya-Sin 36:37
وَءَايَةٞ لَّهُمُ ٱلَّيۡلُ نَسۡلَخُ مِنۡهُ ٱلنَّهَارَ فَإِذَا هُم مُّظۡلِمُونَ
En een teken voor hen is de nacht, Wij hebben het van de dag afgehaald, en zie zij zijn in de duisternis.
And a sign for them is the night. We remove from it [the light of] day, so they are [left] in darkness
Ya-Sin 36:38
وَٱلشَّمۡسُ تَجۡرِي لِمُسۡتَقَرّٖ لَّهَاۚ ذَٰلِكَ تَقۡدِيرُ ٱلۡعَزِيزِ ٱلۡعَلِيمِ
En de zon vaart haar eigen koers voor een (vastgestelde) termijn. Dat is de bepaling van de Almachtige, de Alwetende.
And the sun runs [on course] toward its stopping point. That is the determination of the Exalted in Might, the Knowing
Ya-Sin 36:39
وَٱلۡقَمَرَ قَدَّرۡنَٰهُ مَنَازِلَ حَتَّىٰ عَادَ كَٱلۡعُرۡجُونِ ٱلۡقَدِيمِ
En de maan, daarvoor hebben Wij standen uitgemeten tot het als een oude droge, gebogen dadelstok terugkeert.
And the moon - We have determined for it phases, until it returns [appearing] like the old date stalk
Ya-Sin 36:40
لَا ٱلشَّمۡسُ يَنۢبَغِي لَهَآ أَن تُدۡرِكَ ٱلۡقَمَرَ وَلَا ٱلَّيۡلُ سَابِقُ ٱلنَّهَارِۚ وَكُلّٞ فِي فَلَكٖ يَسۡبَحُونَ
Het is niet aan de zon om de maan in te halen noch gaat de nacht de dag voorgaan. Zij bewegen allen, ieder in een vaste baan.
It is not allowable for the sun to reach the moon, nor does the night overtake the day, but each, in an orbit, is swimming
Ya-Sin 36:41
وَءَايَةٞ لَّهُمۡ أَنَّا حَمَلۡنَا ذُرِّيَّتَهُمۡ فِي ٱلۡفُلۡكِ ٱلۡمَشۡحُونِ
En een teken voor hen is het dat Wij hun nageslacht in een volgeladen ark hebben gedreven.
And a sign for them is that We carried their forefathers in a laden ship
Ya-Sin 36:42
وَخَلَقۡنَا لَهُم مِّن مِّثۡلِهِۦ مَا يَرۡكَبُونَ
En Wij hebben voor hen hetzelfde als nog toe geschapen zodat zij daarop aan boord kunnen gaan.
And We created for them from the likes of it that which they ride
Ya-Sin 36:43
وَإِن نَّشَأۡ نُغۡرِقۡهُمۡ فَلَا صَرِيخَ لَهُمۡ وَلَا هُمۡ يُنقَذُونَ
En als Wij het willen, zullen Wij hen verdrinken en er zal voor hen geen kreet zijn noch zullen zij gered worden.
And if We should will, We could drown them; then no one responding to a cry would there be for them, nor would they be saved
Ya-Sin 36:44
إِلَّا رَحۡمَةٗ مِّنَّا وَمَتَٰعًا إِلَىٰ حِينٖ
Behalve als een genade van Ons en en als een kort vermaak.
Except as a mercy from Us and provision for a time
Ya-Sin 36:45
وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمُ ٱتَّقُواْ مَا بَيۡنَ أَيۡدِيكُمۡ وَمَا خَلۡفَكُمۡ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تُرۡحَمُونَ
En toen er tegen hen gezegd werd: “Vrees voor dat wat voor jullie is (een bestraffing) en wat achter jullie is, zodat zij genade kunnen ontvangen."
But when it is said to them, "Beware of what is before you and what is behind you; perhaps you will receive mercy
Ya-Sin 36:46
وَمَا تَأۡتِيهِم مِّنۡ ءَايَةٖ مِّنۡ ءَايَٰتِ رَبِّهِمۡ إِلَّا كَانُواْ عَنۡهَا مُعۡرِضِينَ
En er is geen tekenen van hun Heer tot hen gekomen of zij keerden zich daarvan af.
And no sign comes to them from the signs of their Lord except that they are from it turning away
Ya-Sin 36:47
وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمۡ أَنفِقُواْ مِمَّا رَزَقَكُمُ ٱللَّهُ قَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ لِلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓاْ أَنُطۡعِمُ مَن لَّوۡ يَشَآءُ ٱللَّهُ أَطۡعَمَهُۥٓ إِنۡ أَنتُمۡ إِلَّا فِي ضَلَٰلٖ مُّبِينٖ
En toen er (door de armen onder de sahaabah) tegen hen gezegd werd: “Geef uit van datgene waarmee Allah jullie heeft voorzien,” zeiden de ongelovigen (al spottend) tegen de gelovigen: “Zullen wij degenen voeden die Allah had kunnen voeden, indien Hij dat wenste?” (Als jullie overtuigd zijn van deze uitspraak), weet dan dat jullie (in deze ongelovige toestand) in een duidelijke dwaling verkeren.
And when it is said to them, "Spend from that which Allah has provided for you," those who disbelieve say to those who believe, "Should we feed one whom, if Allah had willed, He would have fed? You are not but in clear error
Ya-Sin 36:48
وَيَقُولُونَ مَتَىٰ هَٰذَا ٱلۡوَعۡدُ إِن كُنتُمۡ صَٰدِقِينَ
En zij zeiden: “Wanneer zal deze belofte vervuld worden als jullie waarachtig zijn?”
And they say, "When is this promise, if you should be truthful
Ya-Sin 36:49
مَا يَنظُرُونَ إِلَّا صَيۡحَةٗ وَٰحِدَةٗ تَأۡخُذُهُمۡ وَهُمۡ يَخِصِّمُونَ
Zij wachten slechts tot een enkele schreeuw (bestraffing) zal hen grijpen terwijl zij aan de argumenteren zijn!
They do not await except one blast which will seize them while they are disputing
Ya-Sin 36:50
فَلَا يَسۡتَطِيعُونَ تَوۡصِيَةٗ وَلَآ إِلَىٰٓ أَهۡلِهِمۡ يَرۡجِعُونَ
Zij zullen dan niet in staat zijn om een verzoek te vragen noch kunnen zij naar hun familie terugkeren.
And they will not be able [to give] any instruction, nor to their people can they return
Ya-Sin 36:51
وَنُفِخَ فِي ٱلصُّورِ فَإِذَا هُم مِّنَ ٱلۡأَجۡدَاثِ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِمۡ يَنسِلُونَ
En de bazuin zal geblazen worden waarna zij uit hun graven komen voor hun Heer.
And the Horn will be blown; and at once from the graves to their Lord they will hasten
Ya-Sin 36:52
قَالُواْ يَٰوَيۡلَنَا مَنۢ بَعَثَنَا مِن مَّرۡقَدِنَاۜۗ هَٰذَا مَا وَعَدَ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنُ وَصَدَقَ ٱلۡمُرۡسَلُونَ
Zij zullen zeggen: “Wee voor ons! Wie heeft ons uit onze slaapplaats doen herrijzen. Dit is wat de Barmhartige heeft beloofd, en de boodschappers hebben de waarheid gesproken!”
They will say, "O woe to us! Who has raised us up from our sleeping place?" [The reply will be], "This is what the Most Merciful had promised, and the messengers told the truth
Ya-Sin 36:53
إِن كَانَتۡ إِلَّا صَيۡحَةٗ وَٰحِدَةٗ فَإِذَا هُمۡ جَمِيعٞ لَّدَيۡنَا مُحۡضَرُونَ
Het zal maar een enkele schreeuw zijn, waarna zij allen voor Ons worden gebracht!
It will not be but one blast, and at once they are all brought present before Us
Ya-Sin 36:54
فَٱلۡيَوۡمَ لَا تُظۡلَمُ نَفۡسٞ شَيۡـٔٗا وَلَا تُجۡزَوۡنَ إِلَّا مَا كُنتُمۡ تَعۡمَلُونَ
En op deze Dag zal niemand onrecht worden aangedaan noch zal jullie iets verweten worden behalve wat jullie verricht hebben.
So today no soul will be wronged at all, and you will not be recompensed except for what you used to do
Ya-Sin 36:55
إِنَّ أَصۡحَٰبَ ٱلۡجَنَّةِ ٱلۡيَوۡمَ فِي شُغُلٖ فَٰكِهُونَ
Waarlijk, de bewoners van het paradijs zullen op die Dag bezig zijn met prettige dingen.
Indeed the companions of Paradise, that Day, will be amused in [joyful] occupation
Ya-Sin 36:56
هُمۡ وَأَزۡوَٰجُهُمۡ فِي ظِلَٰلٍ عَلَى ٱلۡأَرَآئِكِ مُتَّكِـُٔونَ
Zij en hun vrouwen zullen in een prettige schaduw zijn, leunend op banken.
They and their spouses - in shade, reclining on adorned couches
Ya-Sin 36:57
لَهُمۡ فِيهَا فَٰكِهَةٞ وَلَهُم مَّا يَدَّعُونَ
Zij zullen daarin (alle soorten fruit) hebben en alles waar zij om vragen.
For them therein is fruit, and for them is whatever they request [or wish]
Ya-Sin 36:58
سَلَٰمٞ قَوۡلٗا مِّن رَّبّٖ رَّحِيمٖ
“Vrede zij met jullie”, een woord van de meest Genadevolle Heer.
[And] "Peace," a word from a Merciful Lord
Ya-Sin 36:59
وَٱمۡتَٰزُواْ ٱلۡيَوۡمَ أَيُّهَا ٱلۡمُجۡرِمُونَ
“O jullie misdadigers zonder je deze Dag af.”
[Then He will say], "But stand apart today, you criminals
Ya-Sin 36:60
۞أَلَمۡ أَعۡهَدۡ إِلَيۡكُمۡ يَٰبَنِيٓ ءَادَمَ أَن لَّا تَعۡبُدُواْ ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنَۖ إِنَّهُۥ لَكُمۡ عَدُوّٞ مُّبِينٞ
Heb Ik jullie, o kinderen van Adam, niet bevolen om Shaytaan niet te aanbidden. Waarlijk hij is een duidelijke vijand voor jullie.
Did I not enjoin upon you, O children of Adam, that you not worship Satan - [for] indeed, he is to you a clear enemy
Ya-Sin 36:61
وَأَنِ ٱعۡبُدُونِيۚ هَٰذَا صِرَٰطٞ مُّسۡتَقِيمٞ
En dat jullie Mij moeten aanbidden. Dat is een rechte weg.
And that you worship [only] Me? This is a straight path
Ya-Sin 36:62
وَلَقَدۡ أَضَلَّ مِنكُمۡ جِبِلّٗا كَثِيرًاۖ أَفَلَمۡ تَكُونُواْ تَعۡقِلُونَ
En voorwaar hij heeft een groot gedeelte van jullie misleid. Begrepen jullie het dan niet?
And he had already led astray from among you much of creation, so did you not use reason
Ya-Sin 36:63
هَٰذِهِۦ جَهَنَّمُ ٱلَّتِي كُنتُمۡ تُوعَدُونَ
Dit is de hel wat jullie beloofd werd!
This is the Hellfire which you were promised
Ya-Sin 36:64
ٱصۡلَوۡهَا ٱلۡيَوۡمَ بِمَا كُنتُمۡ تَكۡفُرُونَ
Brand er deze Dag in, voor waar jullie ongelovig aan waren.
[Enter to] burn therein today for what you used to deny
Ya-Sin 36:65
ٱلۡيَوۡمَ نَخۡتِمُ عَلَىٰٓ أَفۡوَٰهِهِمۡ وَتُكَلِّمُنَآ أَيۡدِيهِمۡ وَتَشۡهَدُ أَرۡجُلُهُم بِمَا كَانُواْ يَكۡسِبُونَ
Deze Dag zullen Wij hun monden verzegelen en hun handen zullen tot Ons spreken, en hun benen zullen getuigenis aflegen van wat zij hebben verricht.
That Day, We will seal over their mouths, and their hands will speak to Us, and their feet will testify about what they used to earn
Ya-Sin 36:66
وَلَوۡ نَشَآءُ لَطَمَسۡنَا عَلَىٰٓ أَعۡيُنِهِمۡ فَٱسۡتَبَقُواْ ٱلصِّرَٰطَ فَأَنَّىٰ يُبۡصِرُونَ
En als wij het zouden willen, dan hadden wij zeker hun zicht weggevaagd, waarna zij voor het pad moesten zwoegen, hoe zouden zij dan zien?
And if We willed, We could have obliterated their eyes, and they would race to [find] the path, and how could they see
Ya-Sin 36:67
وَلَوۡ نَشَآءُ لَمَسَخۡنَٰهُمۡ عَلَىٰ مَكَانَتِهِمۡ فَمَا ٱسۡتَطَٰعُواْ مُضِيّٗا وَلَا يَرۡجِعُونَ
En als wij het zouden willen, dan konden Wij hen veranderen op hun plaats. Dan zouden zij niet in staat zijn om vooruit te komen noch zouden zij kunnen terugkeren.
And if We willed, We could have deformed them, [paralyzing them] in their places so they would not be able to proceed, nor could they return
Ya-Sin 36:68
وَمَن نُّعَمِّرۡهُ نُنَكِّسۡهُ فِي ٱلۡخَلۡقِۚ أَفَلَا يَعۡقِلُونَ
En degene die Wij een lang leven geven, doen Wij degraderen in Zijn schepping (waarmee zwakheid, dementie en afhankelijkheid gepaard gaan). Zullen (de ontkenners) hun gezond verstand dan niet gebruiken (in gehoorzaamheid aan Allah)?
And he to whom We grant long life We reverse in creation; so will they not understand
Ya-Sin 36:69
وَمَا عَلَّمۡنَٰهُ ٱلشِّعۡرَ وَمَا يَنۢبَغِي لَهُۥٓۚ إِنۡ هُوَ إِلَّا ذِكۡرٞ وَقُرۡءَانٞ مُّبِينٞ
En Wij hebben hem niet in de dichtkunst onderwezen, noch is dat passend voor hem. Dit is slechts een vermaning en een duidelijke Koran.
And We did not give Prophet Muhammad, knowledge of poetry, nor is it befitting for him. It is not but a message and a clear Qur'an
Ya-Sin 36:70
لِّيُنذِرَ مَن كَانَ حَيّٗا وَيَحِقَّ ٱلۡقَوۡلُ عَلَى ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ
Om daarmee degene die leven te waarschuwen en dat het woord (van Allah) tegen de ongelovigen rechtvaardig is.
To warn whoever is alive and justify the word against the disbelievers
Ya-Sin 36:71
أَوَلَمۡ يَرَوۡاْ أَنَّا خَلَقۡنَا لَهُم مِّمَّا عَمِلَتۡ أَيۡدِينَآ أَنۡعَٰمٗا فَهُمۡ لَهَا مَٰلِكُونَ
Zien zij dan niet wat Wij voor hen geschapen hebben geschapen met onze handen, Het vee, zodat zij de eigenaren daarvan kunnen zijn.
Do they not see that We have created for them from what Our hands have made, grazing livestock, and [then] they are their owners
Ya-Sin 36:72
وَذَلَّلۡنَٰهَا لَهُمۡ فَمِنۡهَا رَكُوبُهُمۡ وَمِنۡهَا يَأۡكُلُونَ
En Wij hebben het vee aan hen onderworpen zodat zij sommigen van hen mogen hebben om op te rijden en sommigen om te eten.
And We have tamed them for them, so some of them they ride, and some of them they eat
Ya-Sin 36:73
وَلَهُمۡ فِيهَا مَنَٰفِعُ وَمَشَارِبُۚ أَفَلَا يَشۡكُرُونَ
En zij hebben voordeel van hen, en een bron van drinken, zullen zij dan niet dankbaar zijn?
And for them therein are [other] benefits and drinks, so will they not be grateful
Ya-Sin 36:74
وَٱتَّخَذُواْ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ ءَالِهَةٗ لَّعَلَّهُمۡ يُنصَرُونَ
En zij hebben naast Allah valse goden aangenomen, hopende dat zij door hen geholpen worden.
But they have taken besides Allah [false] deities that perhaps they would be helped
Ya-Sin 36:75
لَا يَسۡتَطِيعُونَ نَصۡرَهُمۡ وَهُمۡ لَهُمۡ جُندٞ مُّحۡضَرُونَ
Zij kunnen hen niet helpen, maar zij zullen als een groep voortgebracht worden tegen degenen die hen aanbaden.
They are not able to help them, and they [themselves] are for them soldiers in attendance
Ya-Sin 36:76
فَلَا يَحۡزُنكَ قَوۡلُهُمۡۘ إِنَّا نَعۡلَمُ مَا يُسِرُّونَ وَمَا يُعۡلِنُونَ
En laat hun spraak, jou dan niet bedroeven. Waarlijk, Wij weten wat zij verbergen en wat zij openbaar maken.
So let not their speech grieve you. Indeed, We know what they conceal and what they declare
Ya-Sin 36:77
أَوَلَمۡ يَرَ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُ أَنَّا خَلَقۡنَٰهُ مِن نُّطۡفَةٖ فَإِذَا هُوَ خَصِيمٞ مُّبِينٞ
Ziet de mens dan niet dat Wij hem uit een druppel (mannelijk zaad) hebben geschapen? En toch stelt hij zich (hiertegenover) op als een duidelijke tegenstander!
Does man not consider that We created him from a [mere] sperm-drop - then at once he is a clear adversary
Ya-Sin 36:78
وَضَرَبَ لَنَا مَثَلٗا وَنَسِيَ خَلۡقَهُۥۖ قَالَ مَن يُحۡيِ ٱلۡعِظَٰمَ وَهِيَ رَمِيمٞ
En (hierover) gaf hij Ons een gelijkenis terwijl hij de schepping van zichzelf over het hoofd zag. (met een bot in de hand) vraagt hij: “Wie zal deze vergruisde beenderen tot leven brengen terwijl ze gerot en tot stof zijn geworden?”
And he presents for Us an example and forgets his [own] creation. He says, "Who will give life to bones while they are disintegrated
Ya-Sin 36:79
قُلۡ يُحۡيِيهَا ٱلَّذِيٓ أَنشَأَهَآ أَوَّلَ مَرَّةٖۖ وَهُوَ بِكُلِّ خَلۡقٍ عَلِيمٌ
Zeg (o Mohammed) tegen hen: “Hij zal hen doen herleven zoals Hij hen de eerste keer heeft geschapen! En Hij is Alwetend over de gehele schepping!
Say, "He will give them life who produced them the first time; and He is, of all creation, Knowing
Ya-Sin 36:80
ٱلَّذِي جَعَلَ لَكُم مِّنَ ٱلشَّجَرِ ٱلۡأَخۡضَرِ نَارٗا فَإِذَآ أَنتُم مِّنۡهُ تُوقِدُونَ
Hij Die jullie d.m.v. de groene boom van vuur heeft voorzien, waarna jullie er een vuur mee ontsteken.”
[It is] He who made for you from the green tree, fire, and then from it you ignite
Ya-Sin 36:81
أَوَلَيۡسَ ٱلَّذِي خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ بِقَٰدِرٍ عَلَىٰٓ أَن يَخۡلُقَ مِثۡلَهُمۚ بَلَىٰ وَهُوَ ٱلۡخَلَّـٰقُ ٱلۡعَلِيمُ
Is Hij Die de hemelen en de aarde heeft geschapen niet in staat om iets te scheppen wat daaraan gelijk is? Zeker wel! Want voorwaar, Hij is de Schepper, de Alwetende.
Is not He who created the heavens and the earth Able to create the likes of them? Yes, [it is so]; and He is the Knowing Creator
Ya-Sin 36:82
إِنَّمَآ أَمۡرُهُۥٓ إِذَآ أَرَادَ شَيۡـًٔا أَن يَقُولَ لَهُۥ كُن فَيَكُونُ
Waarlijk, wanneer hij iets wil dan luidt Zijn bevel slechts: “Wees!” en het is.
His command is only when He intends a thing that He says to it, "Be," and it is
Ya-Sin 36:83
فَسُبۡحَٰنَ ٱلَّذِي بِيَدِهِۦ مَلَكُوتُ كُلِّ شَيۡءٖ وَإِلَيۡهِ تُرۡجَعُونَ
Dus verheven is Degene in Wiens hand zich de soevereiniteit over alle zaken bevindt. En tot Hem zullen jullie (uiteindelijk) allen terugkeren.
So exalted is He in whose hand is the realm of all things, and to Him you will be returned
