Koran 36:67 — soera Ya-Sin, vers 67

وَلَوۡ نَشَآءُ لَمَسَخۡنَٰهُمۡ عَلَىٰ مَكَانَتِهِمۡ فَمَا ٱسۡتَطَٰعُواْ مُضِيّٗا وَلَا يَرۡجِعُونَ

En als wij het zouden willen, dan konden Wij hen veranderen op hun plaats. Dan zouden zij niet in staat zijn om vooruit te komen noch zouden zij kunnen terugkeren.

And if We willed, We could have deformed them, [paralyzing them] in their places so they would not be able to proceed, nor could they return

• Hilali & Khan: And if it had been Our Will, We could have transformed them (into animals or lifeless objects) in their places. Then they would have been unable to go forward (move about) nor they could have turned back.
• Rowwad Translation Center (en): And if We willed, We could have paralyzed them in their places, so they could neither move forward nor backward.
