Soera Al-Qamar (54) — De Maan · القمر
Mekkaanse soera, 55 verzen, als 37e geopenbaard.
De gespleten maan en de Koran, gemakkelijk gemaakt om te onthouden.
Al-Qamar 54:1
ٱقۡتَرَبَتِ ٱلسَّاعَةُ وَٱنشَقَّ ٱلۡقَمَرُ
Het uur is nabij gekomen en de maan is gespleten.
The Hour has come near, and the moon has split [in two]
Al-Qamar 54:2
وَإِن يَرَوۡاْ ءَايَةٗ يُعۡرِضُواْ وَيَقُولُواْ سِحۡرٞ مُّسۡتَمِرّٞ
En als zij een teken zien, keren zij zich af en zeggen: “Dit is krachtige magie.”
And if they see a miracle, they turn away and say, "Passing magic
Al-Qamar 54:3
وَكَذَّبُواْ وَٱتَّبَعُوٓاْ أَهۡوَآءَهُمۡۚ وَكُلُّ أَمۡرٖ مُّسۡتَقِرّٞ
Zij verloochenden, en volgden hun eigen lusten. En elke zaak heeft zijn bestemming.
And they denied and followed their inclinations. But for every matter is a [time of] settlement
Al-Qamar 54:4
وَلَقَدۡ جَآءَهُم مِّنَ ٱلۡأَنۢبَآءِ مَا فِيهِ مُزۡدَجَرٌ
En voorwaar er is tot hen nieuws gekomen waarin zich een duidelijke waarschuwing bevindt.
And there has already come to them of information that in which there is deterrence
Al-Qamar 54:5
حِكۡمَةُۢ بَٰلِغَةٞۖ فَمَا تُغۡنِ ٱلنُّذُرُ
Perfecte wijsheid maar hebben de waarschuwers voor hen wel nut?
Extensive wisdom - but warning does not avail [them]
Al-Qamar 54:6
فَتَوَلَّ عَنۡهُمۡۘ يَوۡمَ يَدۡعُ ٱلدَّاعِ إِلَىٰ شَيۡءٖ نُّكُرٍ
Trek je daarom van hen terug. De dag dat de oproeper (hen) zal roepen is een vreselijk iets.
So leave them, [O Muhammad]. The Day the Caller calls to something forbidding
Al-Qamar 54:7
خُشَّعًا أَبۡصَٰرُهُمۡ يَخۡرُجُونَ مِنَ ٱلۡأَجۡدَاثِ كَأَنَّهُمۡ جَرَادٞ مُّنتَشِرٞ
Zij zullen met nederige blik uit (hun) graven voortkomen alsof zij sprinkhanen zijn die zich verspreiden.
Their eyes humbled, they will emerge from the graves as if they were locusts spreading
Al-Qamar 54:8
مُّهۡطِعِينَ إِلَى ٱلدَّاعِۖ يَقُولُ ٱلۡكَٰفِرُونَ هَٰذَا يَوۡمٌ عَسِرٞ
Zich tot de oproeper haastend (uit angst)! De ongelovigen zullen zeggen: “Dit is een moeilijke dag.”
Racing ahead toward the Caller. The disbelievers will say, "This is a difficult Day
Al-Qamar 54:9
۞كَذَّبَتۡ قَبۡلَهُمۡ قَوۡمُ نُوحٖ فَكَذَّبُواْ عَبۡدَنَا وَقَالُواْ مَجۡنُونٞ وَٱزۡدُجِرَ
Het volk van Noeh ontkende vóór hen, zij verwierpen Onze dienaar en zeiden: “Een dwaas!” En hij werd beledigend uitgescholden.
The people of Noah denied before them, and they denied Our servant and said, "A madman," and he was repelled
Al-Qamar 54:10
فَدَعَا رَبَّهُۥٓ أَنِّي مَغۡلُوبٞ فَٱنتَصِرۡ
Toen riep hij zijn Heer aan: “Ik ben overmeesterd, help (mij) dus!”
So he invoked his Lord, "Indeed, I am overpowered, so help
Al-Qamar 54:11
فَفَتَحۡنَآ أَبۡوَٰبَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ بِمَآءٖ مُّنۡهَمِرٖ
Dus openden Wij de poorten van de hemel met stromend water.
Then We opened the gates of the heaven with rain pouring down
Al-Qamar 54:12
وَفَجَّرۡنَا ٱلۡأَرۡضَ عُيُونٗا فَٱلۡتَقَى ٱلۡمَآءُ عَلَىٰٓ أَمۡرٖ قَدۡ قُدِرَ
En Wij lieten uit de aarde de bronnen stromen. Dus de wateren ontmoetten elkaar in een voorbeschikte zaak.
And caused the earth to burst with springs, and the waters met for a matter already predestined
Al-Qamar 54:13
وَحَمَلۡنَٰهُ عَلَىٰ ذَاتِ أَلۡوَٰحٖ وَدُسُرٖ
En Wij droegen hem op een (schip) gemaakt van spijkers en planken.
And We carried him on a [construction of] planks and nails
Al-Qamar 54:14
تَجۡرِي بِأَعۡيُنِنَا جَزَآءٗ لِّمَن كَانَ كُفِرَ
Drijvend onder Onze ogen een vergelding voor degene die verworpen is!
Sailing under Our observation as reward for he who had been denied
Al-Qamar 54:15
وَلَقَد تَّرَكۡنَٰهَآ ءَايَةٗ فَهَلۡ مِن مُّدَّكِرٖ
En voorwaar, Wij hebben dit een teken laten zijn, is er dan iemand die hier lering uit trekt?
And We left it as a sign, so is there any who will remember
Al-Qamar 54:16
فَكَيۡفَ كَانَ عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ
Hoe (vreselijk) waren Mijn bestraffing en Mijn waarschuwingen.
And how [severe] were My punishment and warning
Al-Qamar 54:17
وَلَقَدۡ يَسَّرۡنَا ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ لِلذِّكۡرِ فَهَلۡ مِن مُّدَّكِرٖ
En Wij hebben de Koran zeker gemakkelijk gemaakt om te gedenken (het begrijpen ervan; dus kennis zodat we erna kunnen handelen en ook om het te kunnen onthouden), is er dan iemand die het zal onthouden?
And We have certainly made the Qur'an easy for remembrance, so is there any who will remember
Al-Qamar 54:18
كَذَّبَتۡ عَادٞ فَكَيۡفَ كَانَ عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ
Het volk van ‘Ad verloochende, hoe vreselijk waren dan Mijn bestraffing en Mijn waarschuwingen?
Aad denied; and how [severe] were My punishment and warning
Al-Qamar 54:19
إِنَّآ أَرۡسَلۡنَا عَلَيۡهِمۡ رِيحٗا صَرۡصَرٗا فِي يَوۡمِ نَحۡسٖ مُّسۡتَمِرّٖ
Waarlijk, Wij stuurden naar hen een heftige wind op de dag van de voordurende rampspoed.
Indeed, We sent upon them a screaming wind on a day of continuous misfortune
Al-Qamar 54:20
تَنزِعُ ٱلنَّاسَ كَأَنَّهُمۡ أَعۡجَازُ نَخۡلٖ مُّنقَعِرٖ
Die de mensen wegrukte, alsof zij ontwortelde stammen van palmbomen waren.
Extracting the people as if they were trunks of palm trees uprooted
Al-Qamar 54:21
فَكَيۡفَ كَانَ عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ
Hoe vreselijk waren dan Mijn bestraffing en Mijn waarschuwingen?
And how [severe] were My punishment and warning
Al-Qamar 54:22
وَلَقَدۡ يَسَّرۡنَا ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ لِلذِّكۡرِ فَهَلۡ مِن مُّدَّكِرٖ
En voorwaar Wij hebben de Koran gemakkelijk gemaakt, is er dan iemand die het onthoudt?
And We have certainly made the Qur'an easy for remembrance, so is there any who will remember
Al-Qamar 54:23
كَذَّبَتۡ ثَمُودُ بِٱلنُّذُرِ
(Het volk van) Thamoed verloochende (ook) de waarschuwingen.
Thamud denied the warning
Al-Qamar 54:24
فَقَالُوٓاْ أَبَشَرٗا مِّنَّا وَٰحِدٗا نَّتَّبِعُهُۥٓ إِنَّآ إِذٗا لَّفِي ضَلَٰلٖ وَسُعُرٍ
Want zij zeiden: “Een man! Uit ons midden, die wij moeten volgen? Waarlijk, dan verkeren wij in dwaling en ellende of dwaasheid!”
And said, "Is it one human being among us that we should follow? Indeed, we would then be in error and madness
Al-Qamar 54:25
أَءُلۡقِيَ ٱلذِّكۡرُ عَلَيۡهِ مِنۢ بَيۡنِنَا بَلۡ هُوَ كَذَّابٌ أَشِرٞ
Is het dat de openbaring tot hem gezonden is van uit ons midden? Nee, hij is een slechte persoon en een leugenaar!”
Has the message been sent down upon him from among us? Rather, he is an insolent liar
Al-Qamar 54:26
سَيَعۡلَمُونَ غَدٗا مَّنِ ٱلۡكَذَّابُ ٱلۡأَشِرُ
Morgen zullen zij het te weten komen, wie de arrogante leugenaar is
They will know tomorrow who is the insolent liar
Al-Qamar 54:27
إِنَّا مُرۡسِلُواْ ٱلنَّاقَةِ فِتۡنَةٗ لَّهُمۡ فَٱرۡتَقِبۡهُمۡ وَٱصۡطَبِرۡ
Waarlijk, Wij sturen een kamelin als beproeving voor hen. Observeer hen en wees geduldig!
Indeed, We are sending the she-camel as trial for them, so watch them and be patient
Al-Qamar 54:28
وَنَبِّئۡهُمۡ أَنَّ ٱلۡمَآءَ قِسۡمَةُۢ بَيۡنَهُمۡۖ كُلُّ شِرۡبٖ مُّحۡتَضَرٞ
En vertel hen dat het water tussen (haar en) hen verdeeld moet worden. Ieders recht om te drinken moet uitgevoerd worden.
And inform them that the water is shared between them, each [day of] drink attended [by turn]
Al-Qamar 54:29
فَنَادَوۡاْ صَاحِبَهُمۡ فَتَعَاطَىٰ فَعَقَرَ
Maar zij riepen hun metgezel en hij nam (een zwaard) en sneed (haar) pezen door.
But they called their companion, and he dared and hamstrung [her]
Al-Qamar 54:30
فَكَيۡفَ كَانَ عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ
Dan hoe (vreselijk) waren Mijn bestraffing en Mijn waarschuwingen
And how [severe] were My punishment and warning
Al-Qamar 54:31
إِنَّآ أَرۡسَلۡنَا عَلَيۡهِمۡ صَيۡحَةٗ وَٰحِدَةٗ فَكَانُواْ كَهَشِيمِ ٱلۡمُحۡتَظِرِ
Waarlijk, Wij stuurden tot hen een enkele (vreselijke) schreeuw en zij werden als droog, vertrapt stro.
Indeed, We sent upon them one blast from the sky, and they became like the dry twig fragments of an [animal] pen
Al-Qamar 54:32
وَلَقَدۡ يَسَّرۡنَا ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ لِلذِّكۡرِ فَهَلۡ مِن مُّدَّكِرٖ
En voorwaar, Wij hebben de Koran gemakkelijk gemaakt, is er dan iemand die het onthoudt?
And We have certainly made the Qur'an easy for remembrance, so is there any who will remember
Al-Qamar 54:33
كَذَّبَتۡ قَوۡمُ لُوطِۭ بِٱلنُّذُرِ
Het volk van Loet verloochende de waarschuwingen.
The people of Lot denied the warning
Al-Qamar 54:34
إِنَّآ أَرۡسَلۡنَا عَلَيۡهِمۡ حَاصِبًا إِلَّآ ءَالَ لُوطٖۖ نَّجَّيۡنَٰهُم بِسَحَرٖ
Waarlijk, Wij stuurden hen een gewelddadige storm van stenen, behalve de familie van Loet, die Wij in het laatste uur van de nacht redden.
Indeed, We sent upon them a storm of stones, except the family of Lot - We saved them before dawn
Al-Qamar 54:35
نِّعۡمَةٗ مِّنۡ عِندِنَاۚ كَذَٰلِكَ نَجۡزِي مَن شَكَرَ
Als gunst van Ons, aldus belonen Wij degene die dankbaar is.
As favor from us. Thus do We reward he who is grateful
Al-Qamar 54:36
وَلَقَدۡ أَنذَرَهُم بَطۡشَتَنَا فَتَمَارَوۡاْ بِٱلنُّذُرِ
En hij (Loet) heeft zeker voor Onze Greep (bestraffing) gewaarschuwd, maar zij twijfelden aan de waarschuwingen!
And he had already warned them of Our assault, but they disputed the warning
Al-Qamar 54:37
وَلَقَدۡ رَٰوَدُوهُ عَن ضَيۡفِهِۦ فَطَمَسۡنَآ أَعۡيُنَهُمۡ فَذُوقُواْ عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ
En zij probeerden zeker zijn gasten tot schande te brengen. Aldus verblindden Wij hun ogen: “Proef dan Mijn bestraffing en Mijn waarschuwingen.”
And they had demanded from him his guests, but We obliterated their eyes, [saying], "Taste My punishment and warning
Al-Qamar 54:38
وَلَقَدۡ صَبَّحَهُم بُكۡرَةً عَذَابٞ مُّسۡتَقِرّٞ
En waarlijk, een onafgebroken bestraffing greep hen vroeg in de ochtend.
And there came upon them by morning an abiding punishment
Al-Qamar 54:39
فَذُوقُواْ عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ
“Proef dan maar Mijn bestraffing en waarschuwingen.”
So taste My punishment and warning
Al-Qamar 54:40
وَلَقَدۡ يَسَّرۡنَا ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ لِلذِّكۡرِ فَهَلۡ مِن مُّدَّكِرٖ
En voorwaar, Wij hebben de Koran gemakkelijk gemaakt, is er dan iemand die het onthoudt?
And We have certainly made the Qur'an easy for remembrance, so is there any who will remember
Al-Qamar 54:41
وَلَقَدۡ جَآءَ ءَالَ فِرۡعَوۡنَ ٱلنُّذُرُ
En voorwaar, waarschuwingen kwamen tot het volk van Farao.
And there certainly came to the people of Pharaoh warning
Al-Qamar 54:42
كَذَّبُواْ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا كُلِّهَا فَأَخَذۡنَٰهُمۡ أَخۡذَ عَزِيزٖ مُّقۡتَدِرٍ
(Zij) verloochenden al Onze tekenen, dus grepen Wij hen met een machtige greep, en hij is tot alles in staat.
They denied Our signs, all of them, so We seized them with a seizure of one Exalted in Might and Perfect in Ability
Al-Qamar 54:43
أَكُفَّارُكُمۡ خَيۡرٞ مِّنۡ أُوْلَـٰٓئِكُمۡ أَمۡ لَكُم بَرَآءَةٞ فِي ٱلزُّبُرِ
Zijn jullie ongelovigen beter dan zij (de eerdere ongelovigen) Of hebben jullie vrijstelling (voor onze bestraffing) die in geschriften staan?
Are your disbelievers better than those [former ones], or have you immunity in the scripture
Al-Qamar 54:44
أَمۡ يَقُولُونَ نَحۡنُ جَمِيعٞ مُّنتَصِرٞ
Of zeggen zij: “Wij zijn met velen en wij zullen overwinnen?”
Or do they say, "We are an assembly supporting [each other]
Al-Qamar 54:45
سَيُهۡزَمُ ٱلۡجَمۡعُ وَيُوَلُّونَ ٱلدُّبُرَ
Hun aantal zal verslagen worden en zij zullen hun ruggen toekeren.
[Their] assembly will be defeated, and they will turn their backs [in retreat]
Al-Qamar 54:46
بَلِ ٱلسَّاعَةُ مَوۡعِدُهُمۡ وَٱلسَّاعَةُ أَدۡهَىٰ وَأَمَرُّ
Nee, maar het uur is hun aangewezen tijd, en het uur zal nog droeviger en nog bitterder voor hun zijn.
But the Hour is their appointment [for due punishment], and the Hour is more disastrous and more bitter
Al-Qamar 54:47
إِنَّ ٱلۡمُجۡرِمِينَ فِي ضَلَٰلٖ وَسُعُرٖ
Waarlijk, de misdadigers verkeren in dwaling en zullen branden.
Indeed, the criminals are in error and madness
Al-Qamar 54:48
يَوۡمَ يُسۡحَبُونَ فِي ٱلنَّارِ عَلَىٰ وُجُوهِهِمۡ ذُوقُواْ مَسَّ سَقَرَ
De dag dat zij op hun gezichten in het vuur worden gesleept (zal er tegen hen gezegd worden): “Proef de aanraking van de hel!”
The Day they are dragged into the Fire on their faces [it will be said], "Taste the touch of Saqar
Al-Qamar 54:49
إِنَّا كُلَّ شَيۡءٍ خَلَقۡنَٰهُ بِقَدَرٖ
Waarlijk, Wij hebben alle zaken volgens een bepaalde maat geschapen.
Indeed, all things We created with predestination
Al-Qamar 54:50
وَمَآ أَمۡرُنَآ إِلَّا وَٰحِدَةٞ كَلَمۡحِۭ بِٱلۡبَصَرِ
En Ons bevel is slechts één; als de flikkering van een oog.
And Our command is but one, like a glance of the eye
Al-Qamar 54:51
وَلَقَدۡ أَهۡلَكۡنَآ أَشۡيَاعَكُمۡ فَهَلۡ مِن مُّدَّكِرٖ
En voorwaar, Wij hebben degenen zoals jullie hoervoor ook vernietigd. Is er dan iemand die hier lering uit trekt?
And We have already destroyed your kinds, so is there any who will remember
Al-Qamar 54:52
وَكُلُّ شَيۡءٖ فَعَلُوهُ فِي ٱلزُّبُرِ
En alles wat zij gedaan hebben is in (hun) verslagen genoteerd.
And everything they did is in written records
Al-Qamar 54:53
وَكُلُّ صَغِيرٖ وَكَبِيرٖ مُّسۡتَطَرٌ
En alles, groot en klein is staat opgeschreven.
And every small and great [thing] is inscribed
Al-Qamar 54:54
إِنَّ ٱلۡمُتَّقِينَ فِي جَنَّـٰتٖ وَنَهَرٖ
Waarlijk, de godvrezenden zullen in het midden van de tuinen en rivieren zijn.
Indeed, the righteous will be among gardens and rivers
Al-Qamar 54:55
فِي مَقۡعَدِ صِدۡقٍ عِندَ مَلِيكٖ مُّقۡتَدِرِۭ
In een zitting van waarheid in de nabijheid van de ware Koning die tot alles in staat is.
In a seat of honor near a Sovereign, Perfect in Ability
