La bataille de Badr : la victoire, le butin et la confiance en Allah.
Al-Anfal 8:1
يَسۡـَٔلُونَكَ عَنِ ٱلۡأَنفَالِۖ قُلِ ٱلۡأَنفَالُ لِلَّهِ وَٱلرَّسُولِۖ فَٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَأَصۡلِحُواْ ذَاتَ بَيۡنِكُمۡۖ وَأَطِيعُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥٓ إِن كُنتُم مُّؤۡمِنِينَ
Ils t’interrogent au sujet du butin. Réponds : « Le butin revient à Allah et Son Messager. » Craignez donc Allah ! Mettez un terme à vos différends. Obéissez à Allah et Son Messager, si vous êtes vraiment croyants.
They ask you, [O Muhammad], about the bounties [of war]. Say, "The [decision concerning] bounties is for Allah and the Messenger." So fear Allah and amend that which is between you and obey Allah and His Messenger, if you should be believers
Al-Anfal 8:2
إِنَّمَا ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنُونَ ٱلَّذِينَ إِذَا ذُكِرَ ٱللَّهُ وَجِلَتۡ قُلُوبُهُمۡ وَإِذَا تُلِيَتۡ عَلَيۡهِمۡ ءَايَٰتُهُۥ زَادَتۡهُمۡ إِيمَٰنٗا وَعَلَىٰ رَبِّهِمۡ يَتَوَكَّلُونَ
Les vrais croyants sont ceux dont les cœurs frémissent de peur à l’évocation d’Allah, dont la foi s’affermit à l’écoute de Ses versets et qui s’en remettent entièrement à leur Seigneur,
The believers are only those who, when Allah is mentioned, their hearts become fearful, and when His verses are recited to them, it increases them in faith; and upon their Lord they rely
Al-Anfal 8:3
ٱلَّذِينَ يُقِيمُونَ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَمِمَّا رَزَقۡنَٰهُمۡ يُنفِقُونَ
ceux qui accomplissent la prière et offrent par charité une partie de ce que Nous leur avons accordé.
The ones who establish prayer, and from what We have provided them, they spend
Al-Anfal 8:4
أُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنُونَ حَقّٗاۚ لَّهُمۡ دَرَجَٰتٌ عِندَ رَبِّهِمۡ وَمَغۡفِرَةٞ وَرِزۡقٞ كَرِيمٞ
Voilà les vrais croyants qui occuperont de hauts rangs auprès de leur Seigneur et obtiendront Son pardon et des dons généreux.
Those are the believers, truly. For them are degrees [of high position] with their Lord and forgiveness and noble provision
Al-Anfal 8:5
كَمَآ أَخۡرَجَكَ رَبُّكَ مِنۢ بَيۡتِكَ بِٱلۡحَقِّ وَإِنَّ فَرِيقٗا مِّنَ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ لَكَٰرِهُونَ
C’est ainsi que, par une révélation, ton Seigneur t’ordonnait de quitter ta maison pour une juste raison, en dépit de l’aversion d’une partie des croyants
[It is] just as when your Lord brought you out of your home [for the battle of Badr] in truth, while indeed, a party among the believers were unwilling
Al-Anfal 8:6
يُجَٰدِلُونَكَ فِي ٱلۡحَقِّ بَعۡدَ مَا تَبَيَّنَ كَأَنَّمَا يُسَاقُونَ إِلَى ٱلۡمَوۡتِ وَهُمۡ يَنظُرُونَ
qui rechignaient à engager les combats - de toute évidence inévitables - comme s’ils étaient menés vers la mort qu’ils voyaient de leurs propres yeux.
Arguing with you concerning the truth after it had become clear, as if they were being driven toward death while they were looking on
Al-Anfal 8:7
وَإِذۡ يَعِدُكُمُ ٱللَّهُ إِحۡدَى ٱلطَّآئِفَتَيۡنِ أَنَّهَا لَكُمۡ وَتَوَدُّونَ أَنَّ غَيۡرَ ذَاتِ ٱلشَّوۡكَةِ تَكُونُ لَكُمۡ وَيُرِيدُ ٱللَّهُ أَن يُحِقَّ ٱلۡحَقَّ بِكَلِمَٰتِهِۦ وَيَقۡطَعَ دَابِرَ ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ
Souvenez-vous de la promesse d’Allah de vous accorder la victoire sur l’une des deux troupes ennemies. Vous espériez alors affronter le groupe désarmé, mais Allah voulait, en vertu de Ses arrêts immuables, faire triompher la vérité et anéantir les mécréants jusqu’au dernier,
[Remember, O believers], when Allah promised you one of the two groups - that it would be yours - and you wished that the unarmed one would be yours. But Allah intended to establish the truth by His words and to eliminate the disbelievers
Al-Anfal 8:8
لِيُحِقَّ ٱلۡحَقَّ وَيُبۡطِلَ ٱلۡبَٰطِلَ وَلَوۡ كَرِهَ ٱلۡمُجۡرِمُونَ
afin de faire triompher la vraie religion et de réduire les faux cultes à néant, n’en déplaise aux mécréants.
That He should establish the truth and abolish falsehood, even if the criminals disliked it
Al-Anfal 8:9
إِذۡ تَسۡتَغِيثُونَ رَبَّكُمۡ فَٱسۡتَجَابَ لَكُمۡ أَنِّي مُمِدُّكُم بِأَلۡفٖ مِّنَ ٱلۡمَلَـٰٓئِكَةِ مُرۡدِفِينَ
Souvenez-vous encore lorsque vous imploriez le secours de votre Seigneur qui, exauçant vos prières, dit : « Je vais vous envoyer en renfort mille anges par vagues successives. »
[Remember] when you asked help of your Lord, and He answered you, "Indeed, I will reinforce you with a thousand from the angels, following one another
Al-Anfal 8:10
وَمَا جَعَلَهُ ٱللَّهُ إِلَّا بُشۡرَىٰ وَلِتَطۡمَئِنَّ بِهِۦ قُلُوبُكُمۡۚ وَمَا ٱلنَّصۡرُ إِلَّا مِنۡ عِندِ ٱللَّهِۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَزِيزٌ حَكِيمٌ
Allah ne fit de ces renforts qu’une heureuse annonce destinée à vous rassurer et à apaiser vos cœurs. Car la victoire vient uniquement d’Allah, Tout-Puissant et infiniment Sage.
And Allah made it not but good tidings and so that your hearts would be assured thereby. And victory is not but from Allah. Indeed, Allah is Exalted in Might and Wise
Al-Anfal 8:11
إِذۡ يُغَشِّيكُمُ ٱلنُّعَاسَ أَمَنَةٗ مِّنۡهُ وَيُنَزِّلُ عَلَيۡكُم مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءٗ لِّيُطَهِّرَكُم بِهِۦ وَيُذۡهِبَ عَنكُمۡ رِجۡزَ ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنِ وَلِيَرۡبِطَ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِكُمۡ وَيُثَبِّتَ بِهِ ٱلۡأَقۡدَامَ
Et lorsque, par Sa grâce, une somnolence apaisante s’empara de vous et que, du ciel, Il fit descendre sur vous une eau pour vous purifier, éloigner de vous les suggestions de Satan, relever votre moral et raffermir vos pas.
[Remember] when He overwhelmed you with drowsiness [giving] security from Him and sent down upon you from the sky, rain by which to purify you and remove from you the evil [suggestions] of Satan and to make steadfast your hearts and plant firmly thereby your feet
Al-Anfal 8:12
إِذۡ يُوحِي رَبُّكَ إِلَى ٱلۡمَلَـٰٓئِكَةِ أَنِّي مَعَكُمۡ فَثَبِّتُواْ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْۚ سَأُلۡقِي فِي قُلُوبِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ ٱلرُّعۡبَ فَٱضۡرِبُواْ فَوۡقَ ٱلۡأَعۡنَاقِ وَٱضۡرِبُواْ مِنۡهُمۡ كُلَّ بَنَانٖ
Ce jour-là, ton Seigneur révéla aux anges : « Je suis avec vous. Raffermissez les croyants. Je vais remplir les mécréants d’effroi. Frappez-les donc au cou, frappez l’extrémité de chacun de leurs doigts. »
[Remember] when your Lord inspired to the angels, "I am with you, so strengthen those who have believed. I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieved, so strike [them] upon the necks and strike from them every fingertip
Al-Anfal 8:13
ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمۡ شَآقُّواْ ٱللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥۚ وَمَن يُشَاقِقِ ٱللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ شَدِيدُ ٱلۡعِقَابِ
Ne se sont-ils pas opposés à Allah et Son Messager ? Que celui qui s’oppose à Allah et Son Messager sache qu’Allah est terrible lorsqu’Il décide de châtier.
That is because they opposed Allah and His Messenger. And whoever opposes Allah and His Messenger - indeed, Allah is severe in penalty
Al-Anfal 8:14
ذَٰلِكُمۡ فَذُوقُوهُ وَأَنَّ لِلۡكَٰفِرِينَ عَذَابَ ٱلنَّارِ
Goûtez donc ce châtiment ici-bas ! Et sachez que les mécréants sont voués aux tourments de l’Enfer.
That [is yours], so taste it." And indeed for the disbelievers is the punishment of the Fire
Al-Anfal 8:15
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓاْ إِذَا لَقِيتُمُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ زَحۡفٗا فَلَا تُوَلُّوهُمُ ٱلۡأَدۡبَارَ
Vous qui croyez ! Lorsque les mécréants marchent sur vous pour vous affronter, gardez-vous de leur tourner le dos.
O you who have believed, when you meet those who disbelieve advancing [for battle], do not turn to them your backs [in flight]
Al-Anfal 8:16
وَمَن يُوَلِّهِمۡ يَوۡمَئِذٖ دُبُرَهُۥٓ إِلَّا مُتَحَرِّفٗا لِّقِتَالٍ أَوۡ مُتَحَيِّزًا إِلَىٰ فِئَةٖ فَقَدۡ بَآءَ بِغَضَبٖ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَمَأۡوَىٰهُ جَهَنَّمُۖ وَبِئۡسَ ٱلۡمَصِيرُ
Quiconque tournerait alors le dos à l’ennemi - à moins de se replier pour mieux revenir à la charge ou de rallier un autre groupe - serait poursuivi par la colère d’Allah et voué à la Géhenne. Et quelle horrible demeure !
And whoever turns his back to them on such a day, unless swerving [as a strategy] for war or joining [another] company, has certainly returned with anger [upon him] from Allah, and his refuge is Hell - and wretched is the destination
Al-Anfal 8:17
فَلَمۡ تَقۡتُلُوهُمۡ وَلَٰكِنَّ ٱللَّهَ قَتَلَهُمۡۚ وَمَا رَمَيۡتَ إِذۡ رَمَيۡتَ وَلَٰكِنَّ ٱللَّهَ رَمَىٰ وَلِيُبۡلِيَ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ مِنۡهُ بَلَآءً حَسَنًاۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٞ
Ce n’est pas vous en réalité qui les avez tués, mais bien Allah. Et lorsque tu lançais, ce n’est pas toi qui lançais réellement, mais bien Allah qui voulait ainsi combler les croyants de Ses faveurs. Allah entend tout et sait tout.
And you did not kill them, but it was Allah who killed them. And you threw not, [O Muhammad], when you threw, but it was Allah who threw that He might test the believers with a good test. Indeed, Allah is Hearing and Knowing
Al-Anfal 8:18
ذَٰلِكُمۡ وَأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ مُوهِنُ كَيۡدِ ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ
Il en fut donc ainsi par la volonté d’Allah qui ne cessera de ruiner les desseins des mécréants.
That [is so], and [also] that Allah will weaken the plot of the disbelievers
Al-Anfal 8:19
إِن تَسۡتَفۡتِحُواْ فَقَدۡ جَآءَكُمُ ٱلۡفَتۡحُۖ وَإِن تَنتَهُواْ فَهُوَ خَيۡرٞ لَّكُمۡۖ وَإِن تَعُودُواْ نَعُدۡ وَلَن تُغۡنِيَ عَنكُمۡ فِئَتُكُمۡ شَيۡـٔٗا وَلَوۡ كَثُرَتۡ وَأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ مَعَ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ
Si vous avez réclamé le jugement d’Allah, Son jugement a maintenant été rendu. Et si vous mettez un terme à vos agissements, voilà qui est préférable pour vous. Si, en revanche, vous récidivez, Nous vous ferons subir un sort identique. Vos troupes, aussi nombreuses soient-elles, ne vous seront alors d’aucune utilité, car Allah est avec les croyants.
If you [disbelievers] seek the victory - the defeat has come to you. And if you desist [from hostilities], it is best for you; but if you return [to war], We will return, and never will you be availed by your [large] company at all, even if it should increase; and [that is] because Allah is with the believers
Al-Anfal 8:20
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓاْ أَطِيعُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥ وَلَا تَوَلَّوۡاْ عَنۡهُ وَأَنتُمۡ تَسۡمَعُونَ
Vous qui croyez ! Obéissez à Allah et à Son Messager. Ne vous détournez pas de lui alors que vous entendez le message qu’il est chargé de vous délivrer.
O you who have believed, obey Allah and His Messenger and do not turn from him while you hear [his order]
Al-Anfal 8:21
وَلَا تَكُونُواْ كَٱلَّذِينَ قَالُواْ سَمِعۡنَا وَهُمۡ لَا يَسۡمَعُونَ
N’imitez pas ceux qui affirment : « Nous avons bien entendu », alors qu’ils restent sourds aux exhortations qui leur sont adressées.
And do not be like those who say, "We have heard," while they do not hear
Al-Anfal 8:22
۞إِنَّ شَرَّ ٱلدَّوَآبِّ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلصُّمُّ ٱلۡبُكۡمُ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يَعۡقِلُونَ
Il n’est pires créatures pour Allah que ceux qui sont sourds à la vérité, frappés de mutisme et incapables de raisonner.
Indeed, the worst of living creatures in the sight of Allah are the deaf and dumb who do not use reason
Al-Anfal 8:23
وَلَوۡ عَلِمَ ٱللَّهُ فِيهِمۡ خَيۡرٗا لَّأَسۡمَعَهُمۡۖ وَلَوۡ أَسۡمَعَهُمۡ لَتَوَلَّواْ وَّهُم مُّعۡرِضُونَ
Si Allah avait reconnu en eux quelque vertu, Il leur aurait permis de comprendre Ses enseignements. Mais ils auraient alors tourné le dos à la vérité.
Had Allah known any good in them, He would have made them hear. And if He had made them hear, they would [still] have turned away, while they were refusing
Al-Anfal 8:24
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ ٱسۡتَجِيبُواْ لِلَّهِ وَلِلرَّسُولِ إِذَا دَعَاكُمۡ لِمَا يُحۡيِيكُمۡۖ وَٱعۡلَمُوٓاْ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَحُولُ بَيۡنَ ٱلۡمَرۡءِ وَقَلۡبِهِۦ وَأَنَّهُۥٓ إِلَيۡهِ تُحۡشَرُونَ
Vous qui croyez ! Répondez à Allah et au Messager lorsqu’il vous appelle à ce qui vous assurera une vie éternelle. Et sachez qu’Allah s’interpose entre l’homme et son cœur et que c’est vers Lui que vous serez rassemblés.
O you who have believed, respond to Allah and to the Messenger when he calls you to that which gives you life. And know that Allah intervenes between a man and his heart and that to Him you will be gathered
Al-Anfal 8:25
وَٱتَّقُواْ فِتۡنَةٗ لَّا تُصِيبَنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُواْ مِنكُمۡ خَآصَّةٗۖ وَٱعۡلَمُوٓاْ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ شَدِيدُ ٱلۡعِقَابِ
Prenez garde à des épreuves qui ne toucheront pas uniquement ceux d’entre vous qui se livrent au péché. Et sachez qu’Allah est terrible lorsqu’Il décide de châtier.
And fear a trial which will not strike those who have wronged among you exclusively, and know that Allah is severe in penalty
Al-Anfal 8:26
وَٱذۡكُرُوٓاْ إِذۡ أَنتُمۡ قَلِيلٞ مُّسۡتَضۡعَفُونَ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ تَخَافُونَ أَن يَتَخَطَّفَكُمُ ٱلنَّاسُ فَـَٔاوَىٰكُمۡ وَأَيَّدَكُم بِنَصۡرِهِۦ وَرَزَقَكُم مِّنَ ٱلطَّيِّبَٰتِ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تَشۡكُرُونَ
Souvenez-vous lorsque vous étiez une poignée d’hommes et de femmes persécutés dans votre patrie, redoutant d’être enlevés par vos ennemis. Allah vous a alors offert un asile, prêté assistance et comblés de Ses bienfaits afin que vous Lui soyez reconnaissants.
And remember when you were few and oppressed in the land, fearing that people might abduct you, but He sheltered you, supported you with His victory, and provided you with good things - that you might be grateful
Al-Anfal 8:27
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ لَا تَخُونُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَٱلرَّسُولَ وَتَخُونُوٓاْ أَمَٰنَٰتِكُمۡ وَأَنتُمۡ تَعۡلَمُونَ
Vous qui croyez ! Gardez-vous de trahir Allah et le Messager, et de manquer sciemment à vos obligations religieuses.
O you who have believed, do not betray Allah and the Messenger or betray your trusts while you know [the consequence]
Al-Anfal 8:28
وَٱعۡلَمُوٓاْ أَنَّمَآ أَمۡوَٰلُكُمۡ وَأَوۡلَٰدُكُمۡ فِتۡنَةٞ وَأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ عِندَهُۥٓ أَجۡرٌ عَظِيمٞ
Sachez que vos richesses et vos enfants ne sont pour vous que tentation et épreuve, et qu’auprès d’Allah se trouve une immense récompense.
And know that your properties and your children are but a trial and that Allah has with Him a great reward
Al-Anfal 8:29
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓاْ إِن تَتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَ يَجۡعَل لَّكُمۡ فُرۡقَانٗا وَيُكَفِّرۡ عَنكُمۡ سَيِّـَٔاتِكُمۡ وَيَغۡفِرۡ لَكُمۡۗ وَٱللَّهُ ذُو ٱلۡفَضۡلِ ٱلۡعَظِيمِ
Vous qui croyez ! Si vous craignez Allah, Il vous accordera la faculté de discerner le vrai du faux, effacera vos péchés et vous accordera Son pardon. Les faveurs d’Allah sont infinies.
O you who have believed, if you fear Allah, He will grant you a criterion and will remove from you your misdeeds and forgive you. And Allah is the possessor of great bounty
Al-Anfal 8:30
وَإِذۡ يَمۡكُرُ بِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ لِيُثۡبِتُوكَ أَوۡ يَقۡتُلُوكَ أَوۡ يُخۡرِجُوكَۚ وَيَمۡكُرُونَ وَيَمۡكُرُ ٱللَّهُۖ وَٱللَّهُ خَيۡرُ ٱلۡمَٰكِرِينَ
Souviens-toi des sombres projets élaborés par les impies pour t’arrêter, t’assassiner ou t’exiler. Ils ont tramé un complot qu’Allah a déjoué. Nul mieux qu’Allah n’est en mesure de déjouer les complots.
And [remember, O Muhammad], when those who disbelieved plotted against you to restrain you or kill you or evict you [from Makkah]. But they plan, and Allah plans. And Allah is the best of planners
Al-Anfal 8:31
وَإِذَا تُتۡلَىٰ عَلَيۡهِمۡ ءَايَٰتُنَا قَالُواْ قَدۡ سَمِعۡنَا لَوۡ نَشَآءُ لَقُلۡنَا مِثۡلَ هَٰذَآ إِنۡ هَٰذَآ إِلَّآ أَسَٰطِيرُ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ
Lorsque Nos versets leur sont récités, ils disent : « Nous avons déjà entendu ce genre de récits ! Nous pourrions, si nous le voulions, en produire de semblables. Ce ne sont là que légendes des temps anciens ! »
And when Our verses are recited to them, they say, "We have heard. If we willed, we could say [something] like this. This is not but legends of the former peoples
Al-Anfal 8:32
وَإِذۡ قَالُواْ ٱللَّهُمَّ إِن كَانَ هَٰذَا هُوَ ٱلۡحَقَّ مِنۡ عِندِكَ فَأَمۡطِرۡ عَلَيۡنَا حِجَارَةٗ مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ أَوِ ٱئۡتِنَا بِعَذَابٍ أَلِيمٖ
Et ils disent : « Ô Allah ! Si ce message provient bien de Toi, alors fais-nous périr sous une pluie de pierres ou subir un douloureux châtiment. »
And [remember] when they said, "O Allah, if this should be the truth from You, then rain down upon us stones from the sky or bring us a painful punishment
Al-Anfal 8:33
وَمَا كَانَ ٱللَّهُ لِيُعَذِّبَهُمۡ وَأَنتَ فِيهِمۡۚ وَمَا كَانَ ٱللَّهُ مُعَذِّبَهُمۡ وَهُمۡ يَسۡتَغۡفِرُونَ
Or, Allah ne saurait les châtier alors que tu te trouves parmi eux, de même qu’Il ne saurait les punir s’ils implorent Son pardon.
But Allah would not punish them while you, [O Muhammad], are among them, and Allah would not punish them while they seek forgiveness
Al-Anfal 8:34
وَمَا لَهُمۡ أَلَّا يُعَذِّبَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ وَهُمۡ يَصُدُّونَ عَنِ ٱلۡمَسۡجِدِ ٱلۡحَرَامِ وَمَا كَانُوٓاْ أَوۡلِيَآءَهُۥٓۚ إِنۡ أَوۡلِيَآؤُهُۥٓ إِلَّا ٱلۡمُتَّقُونَ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكۡثَرَهُمۡ لَا يَعۡلَمُونَ
Ne méritent-ils pas d’être châtiés par Allah, eux qui interdisent aux croyants l’accès à la Mosquée sacrée dont ils ne sont pourtant pas les gardiens ? Seuls, en effet, sont dignes d’en assurer la garde ceux qui craignent Allah, mais la plupart d’entre eux ne le savent pas.
But why should Allah not punish them while they obstruct [people] from al-Masjid al- Haram and they were not [fit to be] its guardians? Its [true] guardians are not but the righteous, but most of them do not know
Al-Anfal 8:35
وَمَا كَانَ صَلَاتُهُمۡ عِندَ ٱلۡبَيۡتِ إِلَّا مُكَآءٗ وَتَصۡدِيَةٗۚ فَذُوقُواْ ٱلۡعَذَابَ بِمَا كُنتُمۡ تَكۡفُرُونَ
D’autant que leurs prières autour du Sanctuaire sacré ne sont que sifflements et battements de mains. « Goûtez donc le châtiment pour prix de votre impiété ! »
And their prayer at the House was not except whistling and handclapping. So taste the punishment for what you disbelieved
Al-Anfal 8:36
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ يُنفِقُونَ أَمۡوَٰلَهُمۡ لِيَصُدُّواْ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِۚ فَسَيُنفِقُونَهَا ثُمَّ تَكُونُ عَلَيۡهِمۡ حَسۡرَةٗ ثُمَّ يُغۡلَبُونَۗ وَٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓاْ إِلَىٰ جَهَنَّمَ يُحۡشَرُونَ
Ceux qui ont rejeté la foi dépensent leurs biens pour détourner les hommes de la voie d’Allah. Mais ils finiront par regretter toutes ces dépenses et être vaincus. Les impies seront conduits vers la Géhenne où ils seront réunis.
Indeed, those who disbelieve spend their wealth to avert [people] from the way of Allah. So they will spend it; then it will be for them a [source of] regret; then they will be overcome. And those who have disbelieved - unto Hell they will be gathered
Al-Anfal 8:37
لِيَمِيزَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلۡخَبِيثَ مِنَ ٱلطَّيِّبِ وَيَجۡعَلَ ٱلۡخَبِيثَ بَعۡضَهُۥ عَلَىٰ بَعۡضٖ فَيَرۡكُمَهُۥ جَمِيعٗا فَيَجۡعَلَهُۥ فِي جَهَنَّمَۚ أُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلۡخَٰسِرُونَ
Allah séparera ainsi les êtres bons des mauvais qui seront entassés les uns sur les autres dans la Géhenne. Voilà ceux qui auront perdu leurs âmes.
[This is] so that Allah may distinguish the wicked from the good and place the wicked some of them upon others and heap them all together and put them into Hell. It is those who are the losers
Al-Anfal 8:38
قُل لِّلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓاْ إِن يَنتَهُواْ يُغۡفَرۡ لَهُم مَّا قَدۡ سَلَفَ وَإِن يَعُودُواْ فَقَدۡ مَضَتۡ سُنَّتُ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ
Dis à ceux qui ont rejeté la foi que s’ils renoncent à leur impiété, leurs péchés passés leur seront pardonnés. Mais s’ils s’obstinent, ils connaissent déjà le sort subi par leurs devanciers.
Say to those who have disbelieved [that] if they cease, what has previously occurred will be forgiven for them. But if they return [to hostility] - then the precedent of the former [rebellious] peoples has already taken place
Al-Anfal 8:39
وَقَٰتِلُوهُمۡ حَتَّىٰ لَا تَكُونَ فِتۡنَةٞ وَيَكُونَ ٱلدِّينُ كُلُّهُۥ لِلَّهِۚ فَإِنِ ٱنتَهَوۡاْ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ بِمَا يَعۡمَلُونَ بَصِيرٞ
Combattez-les jusqu’à ce que nul ne soit persécuté pour sa foi et que le culte soit exclusivement voué à Allah. S’ils cessent leurs hostilités, alors qu’ils sachent qu’Allah voit parfaitement ce qu’ils font.
And fight them until there is no fitnah and [until] the religion, all of it, is for Allah. And if they cease - then indeed, Allah is Seeing of what they do
Al-Anfal 8:40
وَإِن تَوَلَّوۡاْ فَٱعۡلَمُوٓاْ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ مَوۡلَىٰكُمۡۚ نِعۡمَ ٱلۡمَوۡلَىٰ وَنِعۡمَ ٱلنَّصِيرُ
Mais s’ils persistent, alors sachez qu’Allah est votre Maître. Quel bon Maître et quel excellent Protecteur !
But if they turn away - then know that Allah is your protector. Excellent is the protector, and Excellent is the helper
Al-Anfal 8:41
۞وَٱعۡلَمُوٓاْ أَنَّمَا غَنِمۡتُم مِّن شَيۡءٖ فَأَنَّ لِلَّهِ خُمُسَهُۥ وَلِلرَّسُولِ وَلِذِي ٱلۡقُرۡبَىٰ وَٱلۡيَتَٰمَىٰ وَٱلۡمَسَٰكِينِ وَٱبۡنِ ٱلسَّبِيلِ إِن كُنتُمۡ ءَامَنتُم بِٱللَّهِ وَمَآ أَنزَلۡنَا عَلَىٰ عَبۡدِنَا يَوۡمَ ٱلۡفُرۡقَانِ يَوۡمَ ٱلۡتَقَى ٱلۡجَمۡعَانِۗ وَٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيۡءٖ قَدِيرٌ
Sachez que, sur tout butin arraché à l’ennemi, le cinquième revient à Allah, au Messager, à ses proches parents, aux orphelins, aux nécessiteux et aux voyageurs démunis, si vraiment vous croyez en Allah et en ce que Nous avons révélé à Notre serviteur le jour du discernement, jour où les deux troupes se sont affrontées. Allah a pouvoir sur toute chose.
And know that anything you obtain of war booty - then indeed, for Allah is one fifth of it and for the Messenger and for [his] near relatives and the orphans, the needy, and the [stranded] traveler, if you have believed in Allah and in that which We sent down to Our Servant on the day of criterion - the day when the two armies met. And Allah, over all things, is competent
Al-Anfal 8:42
إِذۡ أَنتُم بِٱلۡعُدۡوَةِ ٱلدُّنۡيَا وَهُم بِٱلۡعُدۡوَةِ ٱلۡقُصۡوَىٰ وَٱلرَّكۡبُ أَسۡفَلَ مِنكُمۡۚ وَلَوۡ تَوَاعَدتُّمۡ لَٱخۡتَلَفۡتُمۡ فِي ٱلۡمِيعَٰدِ وَلَٰكِن لِّيَقۡضِيَ ٱللَّهُ أَمۡرٗا كَانَ مَفۡعُولٗا لِّيَهۡلِكَ مَنۡ هَلَكَ عَنۢ بَيِّنَةٖ وَيَحۡيَىٰ مَنۡ حَيَّ عَنۢ بَيِّنَةٖۗ وَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَسَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌ
Vous aviez alors installé votre campement sur le versant de la vallée le plus proche, tandis que l’ennemi campait sur le versant le plus éloigné et que la caravane se trouvait en contrebas. Si vous vous étiez donné rendez-vous, vous l’auriez certainement manqué, mais le décret d’Allah devait être exécuté afin que celui qui devait périr périsse sans aucune excuse et que celui qui devait survivre vive en connaissance de cause. Allah entend tout et sait tout.
[Remember] when you were on the near side of the valley, and they were on the farther side, and the caravan was lower [in position] than you. If you had made an appointment [to meet], you would have missed the appointment. But [it was] so that Allah might accomplish a matter already destined - that those who perished [through disbelief] would perish upon evidence and those who lived [in faith] would live upon evidence; and indeed, Allah is Hearing and Knowing
Al-Anfal 8:43
إِذۡ يُرِيكَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ فِي مَنَامِكَ قَلِيلٗاۖ وَلَوۡ أَرَىٰكَهُمۡ كَثِيرٗا لَّفَشِلۡتُمۡ وَلَتَنَٰزَعۡتُمۡ فِي ٱلۡأَمۡرِ وَلَٰكِنَّ ٱللَّهَ سَلَّمَۚ إِنَّهُۥ عَلِيمُۢ بِذَاتِ ٱلصُّدُورِ
Souviens-toi quand Allah te fit voir en songe l’ennemi peu nombreux. S’Il te l’avait montré plus nombreux, vous auriez renoncé par lâcheté et vous vous seriez disputés. Mais Allah, qui connaît si bien le fond de vos pensées, vous en a préservés.
[Remember, O Muhammad], when Allah showed them to you in your dream as few; and if He had shown them to you as many, you [believers] would have lost courage and would have disputed in the matter [of whether to fight], but Allah saved [you from that]. Indeed, He is Knowing of that within the breasts
Al-Anfal 8:44
وَإِذۡ يُرِيكُمُوهُمۡ إِذِ ٱلۡتَقَيۡتُمۡ فِيٓ أَعۡيُنِكُمۡ قَلِيلٗا وَيُقَلِّلُكُمۡ فِيٓ أَعۡيُنِهِمۡ لِيَقۡضِيَ ٱللَّهُ أَمۡرٗا كَانَ مَفۡعُولٗاۗ وَإِلَى ٱللَّهِ تُرۡجَعُ ٱلۡأُمُورُ
Lorsque les deux armées se firent face, Il fit paraître vos ennemis peu nombreux à vos yeux, de même que vous leur paraissiez peu nombreux, afin que le décret d’Allah soit exécuté. Toute décision appartient à Allah.
And [remember] when He showed them to you, when you met, as few in your eyes, and He made you [appear] as few in their eyes so that Allah might accomplish a matter already destined. And to Allah are [all] matters returned
Al-Anfal 8:45
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓاْ إِذَا لَقِيتُمۡ فِئَةٗ فَٱثۡبُتُواْ وَٱذۡكُرُواْ ٱللَّهَ كَثِيرٗا لَّعَلَّكُمۡ تُفۡلِحُونَ
Vous qui croyez ! Tenez ferme face à l’ennemi et invoquez Allah avec ferveur afin d’obtenir la victoire.
O you who have believed, when you encounter a company [from the enemy forces], stand firm and remember Allah much that you may be successful
Al-Anfal 8:46
وَأَطِيعُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥ وَلَا تَنَٰزَعُواْ فَتَفۡشَلُواْ وَتَذۡهَبَ رِيحُكُمۡۖ وَٱصۡبِرُوٓاْۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ مَعَ ٱلصَّـٰبِرِينَ
Obéissez à Allah et à Son Messager et fuyez les divisions qui ne manqueraient pas de vous affaiblir et de tempérer votre ardeur. Armez-vous de patience. Allah est avec ceux qui font preuve de constance.
And obey Allah and His Messenger, and do not dispute and [thus] lose courage and [then] your strength would depart; and be patient. Indeed, Allah is with the patient
Al-Anfal 8:47
وَلَا تَكُونُواْ كَٱلَّذِينَ خَرَجُواْ مِن دِيَٰرِهِم بَطَرٗا وَرِئَآءَ ٱلنَّاسِ وَيَصُدُّونَ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِۚ وَٱللَّهُ بِمَا يَعۡمَلُونَ مُحِيطٞ
Ne soyez pas comme ces impies qui, affichant ostensiblement leur puissance, quittèrent leurs terres en paradant, décidés à détourner les hommes de la voie d’Allah. Mais rien de leurs agissements n’échappait à Allah.
And do not be like those who came forth from their homes insolently and to be seen by people and avert [them] from the way of Allah. And Allah is encompassing of what they do
Al-Anfal 8:48
وَإِذۡ زَيَّنَ لَهُمُ ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنُ أَعۡمَٰلَهُمۡ وَقَالَ لَا غَالِبَ لَكُمُ ٱلۡيَوۡمَ مِنَ ٱلنَّاسِ وَإِنِّي جَارٞ لَّكُمۡۖ فَلَمَّا تَرَآءَتِ ٱلۡفِئَتَانِ نَكَصَ عَلَىٰ عَقِبَيۡهِ وَقَالَ إِنِّي بَرِيٓءٞ مِّنكُمۡ إِنِّيٓ أَرَىٰ مَا لَا تَرَوۡنَ إِنِّيٓ أَخَافُ ٱللَّهَۚ وَٱللَّهُ شَدِيدُ ٱلۡعِقَابِ
Satan avait embelli leur entreprise à leurs yeux, leur suggérant : « Nul ne pourra aujourd’hui vous vaincre, je me charge de votre protection. » Mais lorsque les deux troupes furent en vue l’une de l’autre, il tourna le dos en disant : « Je vous désavoue, car je vois des choses que vous ne pouvez voir. Je redoute Allah dont le châtiment est terrible. »
And [remember] when Satan made their deeds pleasing to them and said, "No one can overcome you today from among the people, and indeed, I am your protector." But when the two armies sighted each other, he turned on his heels and said, "Indeed, I am disassociated from you. Indeed, I see what you do not see; indeed I fear Allah. And Allah is severe in penalty
Al-Anfal 8:49
إِذۡ يَقُولُ ٱلۡمُنَٰفِقُونَ وَٱلَّذِينَ فِي قُلُوبِهِم مَّرَضٌ غَرَّ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ دِينُهُمۡۗ وَمَن يَتَوَكَّلۡ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَزِيزٌ حَكِيمٞ
Les hypocrites et ceux dont les cœurs étaient malades dirent alors à propos des croyants : « Ces gens sont abusés par leur religion. » Or, quiconque s’en remet à Allah saura qu’Il est Tout-Puissant et infiniment Sage.
[Remember] when the hypocrites and those in whose hearts was disease said, "Their religion has deluded those [Muslims]." But whoever relies upon Allah - then indeed, Allah is Exalted in Might and Wise
Al-Anfal 8:50
وَلَوۡ تَرَىٰٓ إِذۡ يَتَوَفَّى ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ ٱلۡمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ يَضۡرِبُونَ وُجُوهَهُمۡ وَأَدۡبَٰرَهُمۡ وَذُوقُواْ عَذَابَ ٱلۡحَرِيقِ
Si tu pouvais voir les anges arracher les âmes des impies et les frapper par devant et par derrière, leur disant : « Goûtez les tourments du Feu
And if you could but see when the angels take the souls of those who disbelieved... They are striking their faces and their backs and [saying], "Taste the punishment of the Burning Fire
Al-Anfal 8:51
ذَٰلِكَ بِمَا قَدَّمَتۡ أَيۡدِيكُمۡ وَأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَيۡسَ بِظَلَّـٰمٖ لِّلۡعَبِيدِ
pour prix du mal que vous avez commis durant votre vie. Car Allah ne saurait traiter injustement Ses serviteurs. »
That is for what your hands have put forth [of evil] and because Allah is not ever unjust to His servants
Al-Anfal 8:52
كَدَأۡبِ ءَالِ فِرۡعَوۡنَ وَٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبۡلِهِمۡۚ كَفَرُواْ بِـَٔايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ فَأَخَذَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ بِذُنُوبِهِمۡۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ قَوِيّٞ شَدِيدُ ٱلۡعِقَابِ
Ils sont à l’image du peuple de Pharaon et des nations qui l’ont précédé. Comme eux, ils ont rejeté les signes d’Allah qui les a donc saisis pour prix de leurs péchés. Allah est Fort et terrible lorsqu’Il décide de châtier.
[Theirs is] like the custom of the people of Pharaoh and of those before them. They disbelieved in the signs of Allah, so Allah seized them for their sins. Indeed, Allah is Powerful and severe in penalty
Al-Anfal 8:53
ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَمۡ يَكُ مُغَيِّرٗا نِّعۡمَةً أَنۡعَمَهَا عَلَىٰ قَوۡمٍ حَتَّىٰ يُغَيِّرُواْ مَا بِأَنفُسِهِمۡ وَأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٞ
Allah ne saurait en effet modifier Ses bienfaits envers un peuple tant que ce dernier n’a pas modifié son comportement. Allah entend tout et sait tout.
That is because Allah would not change a favor which He had bestowed upon a people until they change what is within themselves. And indeed, Allah is Hearing and Knowing
Al-Anfal 8:54
كَدَأۡبِ ءَالِ فِرۡعَوۡنَ وَٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبۡلِهِمۡۚ كَذَّبُواْ بِـَٔايَٰتِ رَبِّهِمۡ فَأَهۡلَكۡنَٰهُم بِذُنُوبِهِمۡ وَأَغۡرَقۡنَآ ءَالَ فِرۡعَوۡنَۚ وَكُلّٞ كَانُواْ ظَٰلِمِينَ
Ils sont à l’image du peuple de Pharaon et des nations qui l’ont précédé qui, comme eux, ont rejeté Nos signes et que Nous avons donc anéantis pour prix de leurs méfaits, noyant sous les eaux Pharaon et ses sujets. Tous se sont comportés avec la plus grande iniquité.
[Theirs is] like the custom of the people of Pharaoh and of those before them. They denied the signs of their Lord, so We destroyed them for their sins, and We drowned the people of Pharaoh. And all [of them] were wrongdoers
Al-Anfal 8:55
إِنَّ شَرَّ ٱلدَّوَآبِّ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ فَهُمۡ لَا يُؤۡمِنُونَ
Il n’est pires créatures pour Allah que ces impies qui rejettent obstinément la foi,
Indeed, the worst of living creatures in the sight of Allah are those who have disbelieved, and they will not [ever] believe
Al-Anfal 8:56
ٱلَّذِينَ عَٰهَدتَّ مِنۡهُمۡ ثُمَّ يَنقُضُونَ عَهۡدَهُمۡ فِي كُلِّ مَرَّةٖ وَهُمۡ لَا يَتَّقُونَ
qui ne cessent de violer les pactes conclus avec toi, sans être arrêtés par la crainte d’Allah.
The ones with whom you made a treaty but then they break their pledge every time, and they do not fear Allah
Al-Anfal 8:57
فَإِمَّا تَثۡقَفَنَّهُمۡ فِي ٱلۡحَرۡبِ فَشَرِّدۡ بِهِم مَّنۡ خَلۡفَهُمۡ لَعَلَّهُمۡ يَذَّكَّرُونَ
Si tu dois un jour les dominer à la guerre, inflige-leur un traitement exemplaire à même de dissuader ceux qui seraient tentés de les imiter.
So if you, [O Muhammad], gain dominance over them in war, disperse by [means of] them those behind them that perhaps they will be reminded
Al-Anfal 8:58
وَإِمَّا تَخَافَنَّ مِن قَوۡمٍ خِيَانَةٗ فَٱنۢبِذۡ إِلَيۡهِمۡ عَلَىٰ سَوَآءٍۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يُحِبُّ ٱلۡخَآئِنِينَ
Et si tu redoutes d’être trahi par un groupe, alors dénonce ouvertement le pacte qui vous lie, afin d’être sur un pied d’égalité avec lui. Allah n’aime pas les traîtres.
If you [have reason to] fear from a people betrayal, throw [their treaty] back to them, [putting you] on equal terms. Indeed, Allah does not like traitors
Al-Anfal 8:59
وَلَا يَحۡسَبَنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ سَبَقُوٓاْۚ إِنَّهُمۡ لَا يُعۡجِزُونَ
Que ceux qui ont rejeté la foi ne croient surtout pas qu’ils Nous ont échappé. Non ! Ils ne pourront éviter Notre châtiment.
And let not those who disbelieve think they will escape. Indeed, they will not cause failure [to Allah]
Al-Anfal 8:60
وَأَعِدُّواْ لَهُم مَّا ٱسۡتَطَعۡتُم مِّن قُوَّةٖ وَمِن رِّبَاطِ ٱلۡخَيۡلِ تُرۡهِبُونَ بِهِۦ عَدُوَّ ٱللَّهِ وَعَدُوَّكُمۡ وَءَاخَرِينَ مِن دُونِهِمۡ لَا تَعۡلَمُونَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ يَعۡلَمُهُمۡۚ وَمَا تُنفِقُواْ مِن شَيۡءٖ فِي سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ يُوَفَّ إِلَيۡكُمۡ وَأَنتُمۡ لَا تُظۡلَمُونَ
Préparez, pour les affronter, tout ce que vous pourrez rassembler comme forces et destriers, afin d’effrayer l’ennemi d’Allah et le vôtre, et d’autres encore que vous ignorez mais qu’Allah connaît. Toute dépense que vous ferez pour la cause d’Allah vous sera pleinement restituée, sans que vous soyez lésés.
And prepare against them whatever you are able of power and of steeds of war by which you may terrify the enemy of Allah and your enemy and others besides them whom you do not know [but] whom Allah knows. And whatever you spend in the cause of Allah will be fully repaid to you, and you will not be wronged
Al-Anfal 8:61
۞وَإِن جَنَحُواْ لِلسَّلۡمِ فَٱجۡنَحۡ لَهَا وَتَوَكَّلۡ عَلَى ٱللَّهِۚ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلۡعَلِيمُ
Mais s’ils t’offrent la paix, accepte leur proposition, en plaçant ta confiance en Allah, Celui qui entend tout et sait tout.
And if they incline to peace, then incline to it [also] and rely upon Allah. Indeed, it is He who is the Hearing, the Knowing
Al-Anfal 8:62
وَإِن يُرِيدُوٓاْ أَن يَخۡدَعُوكَ فَإِنَّ حَسۡبَكَ ٱللَّهُۚ هُوَ ٱلَّذِيٓ أَيَّدَكَ بِنَصۡرِهِۦ وَبِٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ
Et s’ils cherchent par cela à te trahir, sache qu’Allah te suffit, Lui qui t’a déjà apporté Son soutien et celui des croyants,
But if they intend to deceive you - then sufficient for you is Allah. It is He who supported you with His help and with the believers
Al-Anfal 8:63
وَأَلَّفَ بَيۡنَ قُلُوبِهِمۡۚ لَوۡ أَنفَقۡتَ مَا فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ جَمِيعٗا مَّآ أَلَّفۡتَ بَيۡنَ قُلُوبِهِمۡ وَلَٰكِنَّ ٱللَّهَ أَلَّفَ بَيۡنَهُمۡۚ إِنَّهُۥ عَزِيزٌ حَكِيمٞ
et qui a uni leurs cœurs. Or, si tu y avais consacré toutes les richesses de la terre, tu n’aurais pu unir leurs cœurs comme Allah, dans Sa toute-puissance et Son infinie sagesse, a pu le faire.
And brought together their hearts. If you had spent all that is in the earth, you could not have brought their hearts together; but Allah brought them together. Indeed, He is Exalted in Might and Wise
Al-Anfal 8:64
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّبِيُّ حَسۡبُكَ ٱللَّهُ وَمَنِ ٱتَّبَعَكَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ
Prophète ! Sache qu’Allah est un soutien bien suffisant pour toi et pour ceux des croyants qui te suivent au combat.
O Prophet, sufficient for you is Allah and for whoever follows you of the believers
Al-Anfal 8:65
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّبِيُّ حَرِّضِ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ عَلَى ٱلۡقِتَالِۚ إِن يَكُن مِّنكُمۡ عِشۡرُونَ صَٰبِرُونَ يَغۡلِبُواْ مِاْئَتَيۡنِۚ وَإِن يَكُن مِّنكُم مِّاْئَةٞ يَغۡلِبُوٓاْ أَلۡفٗا مِّنَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ بِأَنَّهُمۡ قَوۡمٞ لَّا يَفۡقَهُونَ
Prophète ! Incite sans relâche les croyants au combat. S’il se trouve parmi vous une vingtaine d’hommes endurants, ils en vaincront deux cents, et s’il s’en trouve une centaine, ils triompheront de mille mécréants. Ce sont en effet des gens privés de tout entendement.
O Prophet, urge the believers to battle. If there are among you twenty [who are] steadfast, they will overcome two hundred. And if there are among you one hundred [who are] steadfast, they will overcome a thousand of those who have disbelieved because they are a people who do not understand
Al-Anfal 8:66
ٱلۡـَٰٔنَ خَفَّفَ ٱللَّهُ عَنكُمۡ وَعَلِمَ أَنَّ فِيكُمۡ ضَعۡفٗاۚ فَإِن يَكُن مِّنكُم مِّاْئَةٞ صَابِرَةٞ يَغۡلِبُواْ مِاْئَتَيۡنِۚ وَإِن يَكُن مِّنكُمۡ أَلۡفٞ يَغۡلِبُوٓاْ أَلۡفَيۡنِ بِإِذۡنِ ٱللَّهِۗ وَٱللَّهُ مَعَ ٱلصَّـٰبِرِينَ
Connaissant votre faiblesse, Allah allège à présent ce commandement. Une centaine de combattants endurants parmi vous viendront à bout de deux cents de vos ennemis et un millier auront raison de deux mille impies par la volonté d’Allah qui est toujours avec ceux qui se montrent endurants.
Now, Allah has lightened [the hardship] for you, and He knows that among you is weakness. So if there are from you one hundred [who are] steadfast, they will overcome two hundred. And if there are among you a thousand, they will overcome two thousand by permission of Allah. And Allah is with the steadfast
Al-Anfal 8:67
مَا كَانَ لِنَبِيٍّ أَن يَكُونَ لَهُۥٓ أَسۡرَىٰ حَتَّىٰ يُثۡخِنَ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ تُرِيدُونَ عَرَضَ ٱلدُّنۡيَا وَٱللَّهُ يُرِيدُ ٱلۡأٓخِرَةَۗ وَٱللَّهُ عَزِيزٌ حَكِيمٞ
Il n’appartient pas à un prophète de faire des prisonniers tant qu’il n’a pas étendu son autorité sur terre. Vous convoitez les biens éphémères de ce monde, tandis qu’Allah veut pour vous la récompense de l’au-delà. Allah est Tout-Puissant et infiniment Sage.
It is not for a prophet to have captives [of war] until he inflicts a massacre [upon Allah 's enemies] in the land. Some Muslims desire the commodities of this world, but Allah desires [for you] the Hereafter. And Allah is Exalted in Might and Wise
Al-Anfal 8:68
لَّوۡلَا كِتَٰبٞ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ سَبَقَ لَمَسَّكُمۡ فِيمَآ أَخَذۡتُمۡ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٞ
Sans un décret préalable de ton Seigneur, un terrible châtiment vous aurait été infligé pour prix de ces rançons que vous avez acceptées.
If not for a decree from Allah that preceded, you would have been touched for what you took by a great punishment
Al-Anfal 8:69
فَكُلُواْ مِمَّا غَنِمۡتُمۡ حَلَٰلٗا طَيِّبٗاۚ وَٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَفُورٞ رَّحِيمٞ
Disposez donc des prises de guerre qui vous sont entièrement licites et craignez Allah qui, en vérité, est Très Clément et Très Miséricordieux.
So consume what you have taken of war booty [as being] lawful and good, and fear Allah. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful
Al-Anfal 8:70
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّبِيُّ قُل لِّمَن فِيٓ أَيۡدِيكُم مِّنَ ٱلۡأَسۡرَىٰٓ إِن يَعۡلَمِ ٱللَّهُ فِي قُلُوبِكُمۡ خَيۡرٗا يُؤۡتِكُمۡ خَيۡرٗا مِّمَّآ أُخِذَ مِنكُمۡ وَيَغۡفِرۡ لَكُمۡۚ وَٱللَّهُ غَفُورٞ رَّحِيمٞ
Prophète ! Dis aux captifs qui sont entre vos mains : « Si Allah sait que vos cœurs sont disposés à croire, Il vous accordera mieux encore que ce qui vous a été enlevé et vous pardonnera. Allah est Très Clément et Très Miséricordieux. »
O Prophet, say to whoever is in your hands of the captives, "If Allah knows [any] good in your hearts, He will give you [something] better than what was taken from you, and He will forgive you; and Allah is Forgiving and Merciful
Al-Anfal 8:71
وَإِن يُرِيدُواْ خِيَانَتَكَ فَقَدۡ خَانُواْ ٱللَّهَ مِن قَبۡلُ فَأَمۡكَنَ مِنۡهُمۡۗ وَٱللَّهُ عَلِيمٌ حَكِيمٌ
S’ils cherchent à te trahir, sache qu’ils ont avant cela trahi Allah qui les a alors mis à votre merci. Allah est Omniscient et d’une sagesse infinie.
But if they intend to betray you - then they have already betrayed Allah before, and He empowered [you] over them. And Allah is Knowing and Wise
Al-Anfal 8:72
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَهَاجَرُواْ وَجَٰهَدُواْ بِأَمۡوَٰلِهِمۡ وَأَنفُسِهِمۡ فِي سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَاوَواْ وَّنَصَرُوٓاْ أُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ بَعۡضُهُمۡ أَوۡلِيَآءُ بَعۡضٖۚ وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَلَمۡ يُهَاجِرُواْ مَا لَكُم مِّن وَلَٰيَتِهِم مِّن شَيۡءٍ حَتَّىٰ يُهَاجِرُواْۚ وَإِنِ ٱسۡتَنصَرُوكُمۡ فِي ٱلدِّينِ فَعَلَيۡكُمُ ٱلنَّصۡرُ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ قَوۡمِۭ بَيۡنَكُمۡ وَبَيۡنَهُم مِّيثَٰقٞۗ وَٱللَّهُ بِمَا تَعۡمَلُونَ بَصِيرٞ
Ceux qui, après avoir embrassé la foi, ont émigré et sacrifié leurs biens et leurs vies pour la cause d’Allah sont unis par des liens indéfectibles à ceux qui leur ont offert asile et prêté assistance. Quant à ceux qui se sont convertis sans pour autant quitter leur patrie, vous n’avez nullement à leur reconnaître de tels liens tant qu’ils n’ont pas émigré à leur tour. Si toutefois ils réclament votre soutien au nom de votre foi commune, apportez-leur votre assistance, à moins que ce soit contre un groupe auquel vous êtes liés par un pacte. Allah voit parfaitement ce que vous faites.
Indeed, those who have believed and emigrated and fought with their wealth and lives in the cause of Allah and those who gave shelter and aided - they are allies of one another. But those who believed and did not emigrate - for you there is no guardianship of them until they emigrate. And if they seek help of you for the religion, then you must help, except against a people between yourselves and whom is a treaty. And Allah is Seeing of what you do
Al-Anfal 8:73
وَٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ بَعۡضُهُمۡ أَوۡلِيَآءُ بَعۡضٍۚ إِلَّا تَفۡعَلُوهُ تَكُن فِتۡنَةٞ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَفَسَادٞ كَبِيرٞ
Les mécréants sont solidaires les uns des autres. Si donc vous n’agissez pas vous-mêmes de cette manière, la corruption et le désordre règneront sur terre.
And those who disbelieved are allies of one another. If you do not do so, there will be fitnah on earth and great corruption
Al-Anfal 8:74
وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَهَاجَرُواْ وَجَٰهَدُواْ فِي سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَاوَواْ وَّنَصَرُوٓاْ أُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنُونَ حَقّٗاۚ لَّهُم مَّغۡفِرَةٞ وَرِزۡقٞ كَرِيمٞ
Ceux qui, après avoir embrassé la foi, ont émigré et lutté pour la cause d’Allah, ainsi que ceux qui leur ont offert asile et prêté assistance, voilà les vrais croyants qui obtiendront le pardon de leurs péchés et des dons généreux.
But those who have believed and emigrated and fought in the cause of Allah and those who gave shelter and aided - it is they who are the believers, truly. For them is forgiveness and noble provision
Al-Anfal 8:75
وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ مِنۢ بَعۡدُ وَهَاجَرُواْ وَجَٰهَدُواْ مَعَكُمۡ فَأُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ مِنكُمۡۚ وَأُوْلُواْ ٱلۡأَرۡحَامِ بَعۡضُهُمۡ أَوۡلَىٰ بِبَعۡضٖ فِي كِتَٰبِ ٱللَّهِۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ بِكُلِّ شَيۡءٍ عَلِيمُۢ
Les croyants qui, par la suite, émigreront et lutteront à vos côtés seront également vos frères. Allah a toutefois décrété que les liens de parenté devaient prévaloir sur les liens de fraternité et tout autre lien. Allah, en vérité, a une parfaite connaissance de toute chose.
And those who believed after [the initial emigration] and emigrated and fought with you - they are of you. But those of [blood] relationship are more entitled [to inheritance] in the decree of Allah. Indeed, Allah is Knowing of all things
