Al-Qasas 28:2

تِلۡكَ ءَايَٰتُ ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ ٱلۡمُبِينِ

Dit zijn verzen van een duidelijk Boek.

These are the verses of the clear Book

Al-Qasas 28:3

نَتۡلُواْ عَلَيۡكَ مِن نَّبَإِ مُوسَىٰ وَفِرۡعَوۡنَ بِٱلۡحَقِّ لِقَوۡمٖ يُؤۡمِنُونَ

Wij reciteren aan jou in waarheid wat van het nieuws van Moesa en Farao, voor een volk dat gelooft.

We recite to you from the news of Moses and Pharaoh in truth for a people who believe

Al-Qasas 28:4

إِنَّ فِرۡعَوۡنَ عَلَا فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَجَعَلَ أَهۡلَهَا شِيَعٗا يَسۡتَضۡعِفُ طَآئِفَةٗ مِّنۡهُمۡ يُذَبِّحُ أَبۡنَآءَهُمۡ وَيَسۡتَحۡيِۦ نِسَآءَهُمۡۚ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُفۡسِدِينَ

Waarlijk, Farao verhief zichzelf in het land en maakte zijn mensen tot sekten, Verzwakte een groep onder hen, hun zonen dodend, en hij liet hun vrouwen leven. Waarlijk, hij behoorde tot de verderfzaaiers.

Indeed, Pharaoh exalted himself in the land and made its people into factions, oppressing a sector among them, slaughtering their [newborn] sons and keeping their females alive. Indeed, he was of the corrupters

Al-Qasas 28:5

وَنُرِيدُ أَن نَّمُنَّ عَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ ٱسۡتُضۡعِفُواْ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَنَجۡعَلَهُمۡ أَئِمَّةٗ وَنَجۡعَلَهُمُ ٱلۡوَٰرِثِينَ

En Wij wensten een gunst te geven aan degenen die zwak in het land waren, en hen tot heersers en hen tot erfgenamen te maken.

And We wanted to confer favor upon those who were oppressed in the land and make them leaders and make them inheritors

Al-Qasas 28:6

وَنُمَكِّنَ لَهُمۡ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَنُرِيَ فِرۡعَوۡنَ وَهَٰمَٰنَ وَجُنُودَهُمَا مِنۡهُم مَّا كَانُواْ يَحۡذَرُونَ

En hen op aarde te vestigen en Wij lieten Farao en Haman en hun leger van hen krijgen waarvoor zij bang waren.

And establish them in the land and show Pharaoh and [his minister] Haman and their soldiers through them that which they had feared

Al-Qasas 28:7

وَأَوۡحَيۡنَآ إِلَىٰٓ أُمِّ مُوسَىٰٓ أَنۡ أَرۡضِعِيهِۖ فَإِذَا خِفۡتِ عَلَيۡهِ فَأَلۡقِيهِ فِي ٱلۡيَمِّ وَلَا تَخَافِي وَلَا تَحۡزَنِيٓۖ إِنَّا رَآدُّوهُ إِلَيۡكِ وَجَاعِلُوهُ مِنَ ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِينَ

En Wij openbaarden aan de moeder van Moesa (door haar te inspireren), “Zoog hem (Moesa), maar als je voor hem vreest, werp hem dan in de rivier en vrees niet, noch wees bedroefd. Waarlijk! Wij zullen hem naar jou terugbrengen en zullen hem tot één van (Onze) boodschappers maken.”

And We inspired to the mother of Moses, "Suckle him; but when you fear for him, cast him into the river and do not fear and do not grieve. Indeed, We will return him to you and will make him [one] of the messengers

Al-Qasas 28:8

فَٱلۡتَقَطَهُۥٓ ءَالُ فِرۡعَوۡنَ لِيَكُونَ لَهُمۡ عَدُوّٗا وَحَزَنًاۗ إِنَّ فِرۡعَوۡنَ وَهَٰمَٰنَ وَجُنُودَهُمَا كَانُواْ خَٰطِـِٔينَ

Toen pikte de huishouding van Farao hem op, dat hij voor hen een vijand moge worden en hen verdriet moge bezorgen. Waarlijk! Farao, Haman en hun legers waren zondaren.

And the family of Pharaoh picked him up [out of the river] so that he would become to them an enemy and a [cause of] grief. Indeed, Pharaoh and Haman and their soldiers were deliberate sinners

Al-Qasas 28:9

وَقَالَتِ ٱمۡرَأَتُ فِرۡعَوۡنَ قُرَّتُ عَيۡنٖ لِّي وَلَكَۖ لَا تَقۡتُلُوهُ عَسَىٰٓ أَن يَنفَعَنَآ أَوۡ نَتَّخِذَهُۥ وَلَدٗا وَهُمۡ لَا يَشۡعُرُونَ

En de vrouw van Farao zei: “Een genot voor het oog van mij en van jou. Dood hem niet, misschien zal hij ons nog tot nut zijn, of kunnen wij hem als een zoon adopteren.” En zij voorzagen niet.

And the wife of Pharaoh said, "[He will be] a comfort of the eye for me and for you. Do not kill him; perhaps he may benefit us, or we may adopt him as a son." And they perceived not

Al-Qasas 28:10

وَأَصۡبَحَ فُؤَادُ أُمِّ مُوسَىٰ فَٰرِغًاۖ إِن كَادَتۡ لَتُبۡدِي بِهِۦ لَوۡلَآ أَن رَّبَطۡنَا عَلَىٰ قَلۡبِهَا لِتَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ

En het hart van de moeder van Moesa werd leeg. Zij was de onthulling daarvan nabij, hadden Wij haar hart niet versterkt zodat zij één van de gelovigen bleef.

And the heart of Moses' mother became empty [of all else]. She was about to disclose [the matter concerning] him had We not bound fast her heart that she would be of the believers

Al-Qasas 28:11

وَقَالَتۡ لِأُخۡتِهِۦ قُصِّيهِۖ فَبَصُرَتۡ بِهِۦ عَن جُنُبٖ وَهُمۡ لَا يَشۡعُرُونَ

En zij zei tegen zijn zus: “Volg hem.” Dus keek zij van een verre plaats in het geheim toe, terwijl zij dat niet voorzagen.

And she said to his sister, "Follow him"; so she watched him from a distance while they perceived not

Al-Qasas 28:12

۞وَحَرَّمۡنَا عَلَيۡهِ ٱلۡمَرَاضِعَ مِن قَبۡلُ فَقَالَتۡ هَلۡ أَدُلُّكُمۡ عَلَىٰٓ أَهۡلِ بَيۡتٖ يَكۡفُلُونَهُۥ لَكُمۡ وَهُمۡ لَهُۥ نَٰصِحُونَ

En Wij hadden al minnen voor hem verboden, tot zij zei: “Zal ik u een huishouden wijzen die hem voor u zal opvoeden en trouw voor hem zal zorgen op de goede manier?”

And We had prevented from him [all] wet nurses before, so she said, "Shall I direct you to a household that will be responsible for him for you while they are to him [for his upbringing] sincere

Al-Qasas 28:13

فَرَدَدۡنَٰهُ إِلَىٰٓ أُمِّهِۦ كَيۡ تَقَرَّ عَيۡنُهَا وَلَا تَحۡزَنَ وَلِتَعۡلَمَ أَنَّ وَعۡدَ ٱللَّهِ حَقّٞ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكۡثَرَهُمۡ لَا يَعۡلَمُونَ

Zo brachten Wij hem weer bij zijn moeder, dat zij verheugd moge zijn, en dat zij niet zal treuren, en dat zij moge weten dat de belofte van Allah waar is. Maar de meesten van hen weten niet.

So We restored him to his mother that she might be content and not grieve and that she would know that the promise of Allah is true. But most of the people do not know

Al-Qasas 28:14

وَلَمَّا بَلَغَ أَشُدَّهُۥ وَٱسۡتَوَىٰٓ ءَاتَيۡنَٰهُ حُكۡمٗا وَعِلۡمٗاۚ وَكَذَٰلِكَ نَجۡزِي ٱلۡمُحۡسِنِينَ

En toen hij (Moesa) zijn volle kracht had bereikt en volgroeid was, gaven Wij hem wijsheid en kennis. En zo belonen Wij de weldoeners.

And when he attained his full strength and was [mentally] mature, We bestowed upon him judgement and knowledge. And thus do We reward the doers of good

Al-Qasas 28:15

وَدَخَلَ ٱلۡمَدِينَةَ عَلَىٰ حِينِ غَفۡلَةٖ مِّنۡ أَهۡلِهَا فَوَجَدَ فِيهَا رَجُلَيۡنِ يَقۡتَتِلَانِ هَٰذَا مِن شِيعَتِهِۦ وَهَٰذَا مِنۡ عَدُوِّهِۦۖ فَٱسۡتَغَٰثَهُ ٱلَّذِي مِن شِيعَتِهِۦ عَلَى ٱلَّذِي مِنۡ عَدُوِّهِۦ فَوَكَزَهُۥ مُوسَىٰ فَقَضَىٰ عَلَيۡهِۖ قَالَ هَٰذَا مِنۡ عَمَلِ ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنِۖ إِنَّهُۥ عَدُوّٞ مُّضِلّٞ مُّبِينٞ

En hij trad de stad binnen op een tijd dat zijn volk nog niet bewust was en hij kwam twee mannen tegen die vochten, één van zijn groep en de andere van zijn vijand. De man van zijn groep vroeg hem om hulp tegen de vijand, dus sloeg Moesa hem met zijn vuist en doodde hem (dat was niet opzettelijk bedoeld). Hij zei: “Dit is een daad van Shaytaan, waarlijk hij is een duidelijke misleidende vijand.”

And he entered the city at a time of inattention by its people and found therein two men fighting: one from his faction and one from among his enemy. And the one from his faction called for help to him against the one from his enemy, so Moses struck him and [unintentionally] killed him. [Moses] said, "This is from the work of Satan. Indeed, he is a manifest, misleading enemy

Al-Qasas 28:16

قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّي ظَلَمۡتُ نَفۡسِي فَٱغۡفِرۡ لِي فَغَفَرَ لَهُۥٓۚ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلۡغَفُورُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ

Hij zei: “Mijn Heer! Waarlijk, ik heb mijzelf onrecht aangedaan, vergeef mij dus. Toen vergaf Hij het hem. Waarlijk, Hij is de meest Vergevende, de Genadevolle.

He said, "My Lord, indeed I have wronged myself, so forgive me," and He forgave him. Indeed, He is the Forgiving, the Merciful

Al-Qasas 28:17

قَالَ رَبِّ بِمَآ أَنۡعَمۡتَ عَلَيَّ فَلَنۡ أَكُونَ ظَهِيرٗا لِّلۡمُجۡرِمِينَ

Hij zei: “Mijn Heer! Voor de gunsten die u mij heeft verleend, zal ik nooit een helper van de misdadigers zijn.”

He said, "My Lord, for the favor You bestowed upon me, I will never be an assistant to the criminals

Al-Qasas 28:18

فَأَصۡبَحَ فِي ٱلۡمَدِينَةِ خَآئِفٗا يَتَرَقَّبُ فَإِذَا ٱلَّذِي ٱسۡتَنصَرَهُۥ بِٱلۡأَمۡسِ يَسۡتَصۡرِخُهُۥۚ قَالَ لَهُۥ مُوسَىٰٓ إِنَّكَ لَغَوِيّٞ مُّبِينٞ

(Na het incident) werd hij bang, keek rond in de stad, toen kwam de man die de vorige dag zijn hulp had gevraagd hem (opnieuw) om hulp vroeg. Moesa zei tegen hem: “Waarlijk, jij bent een duidelijke misleider!”

And he became inside the city fearful and anticipating [exposure], when suddenly the one who sought his help the previous day cried out to him [once again]. Moses said to him, "Indeed, you are an evident, [persistent] deviator

Al-Qasas 28:19

فَلَمَّآ أَنۡ أَرَادَ أَن يَبۡطِشَ بِٱلَّذِي هُوَ عَدُوّٞ لَّهُمَا قَالَ يَٰمُوسَىٰٓ أَتُرِيدُ أَن تَقۡتُلَنِي كَمَا قَتَلۡتَ نَفۡسَۢا بِٱلۡأَمۡسِۖ إِن تُرِيدُ إِلَّآ أَن تَكُونَ جَبَّارٗا فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَمَا تُرِيدُ أَن تَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُصۡلِحِينَ

Toen hij besloot om de man die een vijand voor hen beiden was te grijpen, zei de man: “O Moesa! Is het jouw bedoeling om mij te doden zoals je gisteren ook een man gedood hebt? Je doel is niets anders dan een tiran in het land te worden en niet één te zijn die het goede doet.”

And when he wanted to strike the one who was an enemy to both of them, he said, "O Moses, do you intend to kill me as you killed someone yesterday? You only want to be a tyrant in the land and do not want to be of the amenders

Al-Qasas 28:20

وَجَآءَ رَجُلٞ مِّنۡ أَقۡصَا ٱلۡمَدِينَةِ يَسۡعَىٰ قَالَ يَٰمُوسَىٰٓ إِنَّ ٱلۡمَلَأَ يَأۡتَمِرُونَ بِكَ لِيَقۡتُلُوكَ فَٱخۡرُجۡ إِنِّي لَكَ مِنَ ٱلنَّـٰصِحِينَ

En er kwam een man aanrennen uit de verste hoek van de stad. Hij zei: “O Moesa! Waarlijk, de leiders beraadslagen over jou om je te doden, ontsnap dus. Waarlijk, ik ben één van degenen die jou een oprecht advies geven.”

And a man came from the farthest end of the city, running. He said, "O Moses, indeed the eminent ones are conferring over you [intending] to kill you, so leave [the city]; indeed, I am to you of the sincere advisors

Al-Qasas 28:21

فَخَرَجَ مِنۡهَا خَآئِفٗا يَتَرَقَّبُۖ قَالَ رَبِّ نَجِّنِي مِنَ ٱلۡقَوۡمِ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ

Dus vertrok hij daar vandaan, in een angstige toestand rondkijkend. Hij zei: “Mijn Heer! Red mij van het volk dat onrechtvaardig is!”

So he left it, fearful and anticipating [apprehension]. He said, "My Lord, save me from the wrongdoing people

Al-Qasas 28:22

وَلَمَّا تَوَجَّهَ تِلۡقَآءَ مَدۡيَنَ قَالَ عَسَىٰ رَبِّيٓ أَن يَهۡدِيَنِي سَوَآءَ ٱلسَّبِيلِ

En toen hij naar (de stad) Median kwam, zei hij: “Wellicht zal mijn Heer mij op de rechte weg leiden” (de moslim gaat altijd uit van het positieve bij Allah (Husn dhan)).

And when he directed himself toward Madyan, he said, "Perhaps my Lord will guide me to the sound way

Al-Qasas 28:23

وَلَمَّا وَرَدَ مَآءَ مَدۡيَنَ وَجَدَ عَلَيۡهِ أُمَّةٗ مِّنَ ٱلنَّاسِ يَسۡقُونَ وَوَجَدَ مِن دُونِهِمُ ٱمۡرَأَتَيۡنِ تَذُودَانِۖ قَالَ مَا خَطۡبُكُمَاۖ قَالَتَا لَا نَسۡقِي حَتَّىٰ يُصۡدِرَ ٱلرِّعَآءُۖ وَأَبُونَا شَيۡخٞ كَبِيرٞ

En toen hij bij het water van Median aankwam, zag hij daar een groep mannen die (hun kudde) drinken gaf, en naast hen vond hij twee vrouwen die (hun kudde) tegenhielden. Hij zei: “Wat scheelt jullie?” Zij zeiden: “Wij kunnen (onze kudde) niet laten drinken tot de schaapherders (hun kudde) meenemen. En onze vader is een erg oude man.”

And when he came to the well of Madyan, he found there a crowd of people watering [their flocks], and he found aside from them two women driving back [their flocks]. He said, "What is your circumstance?" They said, "We do not water until the shepherds dispatch [their flocks]; and our father is an old man

Al-Qasas 28:24

فَسَقَىٰ لَهُمَا ثُمَّ تَوَلَّىٰٓ إِلَى ٱلظِّلِّ فَقَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّي لِمَآ أَنزَلۡتَ إِلَيَّ مِنۡ خَيۡرٖ فَقِيرٞ

Dus toen liet moesa (hun kudde) voor hen drinken, toen keerde hij in de schaduw terug en zei: “Mijn Heer! Waarlijk ik heb behoefte aan al het goede wat U mij geeft!”

So he watered [their flocks] for them; then he went back to the shade and said, "My Lord, indeed I am, for whatever good You would send down to me, in need

Al-Qasas 28:25

فَجَآءَتۡهُ إِحۡدَىٰهُمَا تَمۡشِي عَلَى ٱسۡتِحۡيَآءٖ قَالَتۡ إِنَّ أَبِي يَدۡعُوكَ لِيَجۡزِيَكَ أَجۡرَ مَا سَقَيۡتَ لَنَاۚ فَلَمَّا جَآءَهُۥ وَقَصَّ عَلَيۡهِ ٱلۡقَصَصَ قَالَ لَا تَخَفۡۖ نَجَوۡتَ مِنَ ٱلۡقَوۡمِ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ

Toen kwam één van de twee vrouwen schaamtevol (zo hoort de moslima te zijn, schaamtevol, vandaar ook haar Hidjaab) naar hem toe lopen. Zij zei: “Waarlijk, mijn vader roept u zodat hij u kan belonen voor het voeden (van onze kudde) voor ons.” Toen hij dus tot hem kwam en hem het verhaal vertelde, zei hij: “Vrees niet. Jij bent ontsnapt van het volk dat onrechtvaardig is.”

Then one of the two women came to him walking with shyness. She said, "Indeed, my father invites you that he may reward you for having watered for us." So when he came to him and related to him the story, he said, "Fear not. You have escaped from the wrongdoing people

Al-Qasas 28:26

قَالَتۡ إِحۡدَىٰهُمَا يَـٰٓأَبَتِ ٱسۡتَـٔۡجِرۡهُۖ إِنَّ خَيۡرَ مَنِ ٱسۡتَـٔۡجَرۡتَ ٱلۡقَوِيُّ ٱلۡأَمِينُ

En één (van de twee vrouwen) zei “O mijn vader! Huur hem (neem hem in dienst)! Waarlijk, de beste mannen die u kunt huren zijn de sterke, de betrouwbare.”

One of the women said, "O my father, hire him. Indeed, the best one you can hire is the strong and the trustworthy

Al-Qasas 28:27

قَالَ إِنِّيٓ أُرِيدُ أَنۡ أُنكِحَكَ إِحۡدَى ٱبۡنَتَيَّ هَٰتَيۡنِ عَلَىٰٓ أَن تَأۡجُرَنِي ثَمَٰنِيَ حِجَجٖۖ فَإِنۡ أَتۡمَمۡتَ عَشۡرٗا فَمِنۡ عِندِكَۖ وَمَآ أُرِيدُ أَنۡ أَشُقَّ عَلَيۡكَۚ سَتَجِدُنِيٓ إِن شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ

Hij zei: “Voorwaar ik ben van plan om één van deze twee dochters aan jou uit te huwelijken, op voorwaarde dat jij mij acht jaren zal dienen, maar als je de tien jaren volmaakt dan zal dat (een gunst) van jou zijn. Maar ik ben niet van plan het je moeilijk te maken. Als Allah het wil zal je ontdekken dat ik één van de rechtvaardigen ben.”

He said, "Indeed, I wish to wed you one of these, my two daughters, on [the condition] that you serve me for eight years; but if you complete ten, it will be [as a favor] from you. And I do not wish to put you in difficulty. You will find me, if Allah wills, from among the righteous

Al-Qasas 28:28

قَالَ ذَٰلِكَ بَيۡنِي وَبَيۡنَكَۖ أَيَّمَا ٱلۡأَجَلَيۡنِ قَضَيۡتُ فَلَا عُدۡوَٰنَ عَلَيَّۖ وَٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ مَا نَقُولُ وَكِيلٞ

Hij (Moesa) zei: “Dat is dan tussen ons geregeld, welke van de twee termijnen ik vervul er zal geen onrechtvaardigheid op mij neerkomen en Allah is Getuige van wat wij zeggen.”

[Moses] said, "That is [established] between me and you. Whichever of the two terms I complete - there is no injustice to me, and Allah, over what we say, is Witness

Al-Qasas 28:29

۞فَلَمَّا قَضَىٰ مُوسَى ٱلۡأَجَلَ وَسَارَ بِأَهۡلِهِۦٓ ءَانَسَ مِن جَانِبِ ٱلطُّورِ نَارٗاۖ قَالَ لِأَهۡلِهِ ٱمۡكُثُوٓاْ إِنِّيٓ ءَانَسۡتُ نَارٗا لَّعَلِّيٓ ءَاتِيكُم مِّنۡهَا بِخَبَرٍ أَوۡ جَذۡوَةٖ مِّنَ ٱلنَّارِ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تَصۡطَلُونَ

Toen, wanneer Moesa de termijn had volbracht en met zijn familie vertrok, zag hij een vuur in de richting van de (berg) Toer. Hij zei tegen zijn familie: “Wacht, ik heb een vuur gezien; misschien kan ik jullie wat informatie brengen of een brandende tak, dat jullie jezelf mogen verwarmen.”

And when Moses had completed the term and was traveling with his family, he perceived from the direction of the mount a fire. He said to his family, "Stay here; indeed, I have perceived a fire. Perhaps I will bring you from there [some] information or burning wood from the fire that you may warm yourselves

Al-Qasas 28:30

فَلَمَّآ أَتَىٰهَا نُودِيَ مِن شَٰطِيِٕ ٱلۡوَادِ ٱلۡأَيۡمَنِ فِي ٱلۡبُقۡعَةِ ٱلۡمُبَٰرَكَةِ مِنَ ٱلشَّجَرَةِ أَن يَٰمُوسَىٰٓ إِنِّيٓ أَنَا ٱللَّهُ رَبُّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ

Toen hij (het vuur) dus bereikte, werd hij van de rechterkant van het dal geroepen, op de gezegende plaats van de boom (door Allah): “O Moesa! Waarlijk! Ik ben Allah, de Heer van de werelden!

But when he came to it, he was called from the right side of the valley in a blessed spot - from the tree, "O Moses, indeed I am Allah, Lord of the worlds

Al-Qasas 28:31

وَأَنۡ أَلۡقِ عَصَاكَۚ فَلَمَّا رَءَاهَا تَهۡتَزُّ كَأَنَّهَا جَآنّٞ وَلَّىٰ مُدۡبِرٗا وَلَمۡ يُعَقِّبۡۚ يَٰمُوسَىٰٓ أَقۡبِلۡ وَلَا تَخَفۡۖ إِنَّكَ مِنَ ٱلۡأٓمِنِينَ

En gooi je stok!” Maar toen hij het als een slang zag bewegen, keerde hij om en vluchtte en keek niet om. (Allah): “O Moesa! Kom nabij en vrees niet. Waarlijk, jij bent één van degenen die veilig zijn.

And [he was told], "Throw down your staff." But when he saw it writhing as if it was a snake, he turned in flight and did not return. [Allah said], "O Moses, approach and fear not. Indeed, you are of the secure

Al-Qasas 28:32

ٱسۡلُكۡ يَدَكَ فِي جَيۡبِكَ تَخۡرُجۡ بَيۡضَآءَ مِنۡ غَيۡرِ سُوٓءٖ وَٱضۡمُمۡ إِلَيۡكَ جَنَاحَكَ مِنَ ٱلرَّهۡبِۖ فَذَٰنِكَ بُرۡهَٰنَانِ مِن رَّبِّكَ إِلَىٰ فِرۡعَوۡنَ وَمَلَإِيْهِۦٓۚ إِنَّهُمۡ كَانُواْ قَوۡمٗا فَٰسِقِينَ

En plaats je hand in de opening van jouw kleding (dus via je hals), het zal zonder ziekte, wit worden (Moesa was van huidskleur donker) en trek je hand dicht tegen je aan om vrij van vrees te zijn, dit zijn twee tekenen, van je Heer voor de Farao en zijn leiders. Waarlijk, zij zijn het volk dat verdorven is.”

Insert your hand into the opening of your garment; it will come out white, without disease. And draw in your arm close to you [as prevention] from fear, for those are two proofs from your Lord to Pharaoh and his establishment. Indeed, they have been a people defiantly disobedient

Al-Qasas 28:33

قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّي قَتَلۡتُ مِنۡهُمۡ نَفۡسٗا فَأَخَافُ أَن يَقۡتُلُونِ

Hij Moesa zei: “Mijn Heer! Ik heb een man van hen gedood, dus ik ben bang dat zij mij zullen doden.

He said, "My Lord, indeed, I killed from among them someone, and I fear they will kill me

Al-Qasas 28:34

وَأَخِي هَٰرُونُ هُوَ أَفۡصَحُ مِنِّي لِسَانٗا فَأَرۡسِلۡهُ مَعِيَ رِدۡءٗا يُصَدِّقُنِيٓۖ إِنِّيٓ أَخَافُ أَن يُكَذِّبُونِ

En mijn broeder Haaroen – hij kan zich beter uitdrukken dan ik, stuur hem dus als helper met mij mee om mij steun te geven (een daarom nooit een vriend die slecht is, maar neem iemand als vriend die je steunt in het geloof). Waarlijk! Ik vrees dat zij mij zullen verloochenen.”

And my brother Aaron is more fluent than me in tongue, so send him with me as support, verifying me. Indeed, I fear that they will deny me

Al-Qasas 28:35

قَالَ سَنَشُدُّ عَضُدَكَ بِأَخِيكَ وَنَجۡعَلُ لَكُمَا سُلۡطَٰنٗا فَلَا يَصِلُونَ إِلَيۡكُمَا بِـَٔايَٰتِنَآۚ أَنتُمَا وَمَنِ ٱتَّبَعَكُمَا ٱلۡغَٰلِبُونَ

Allah zei (interpretatie van de betekenis): “Wij zullen je versterken door je broer en zullen jullie beiden macht geven, dus zullen zij niet in staat zijn jullie te kwetsen, met Onze tekenen zullen jullie twee zowel als degenen die jullie volgen overwinnaars zijn."

[Allah] said, "We will strengthen your arm through your brother and grant you both supremacy so they will not reach you. [It will be] through Our signs; you and those who follow you will be the predominant

Al-Qasas 28:36

فَلَمَّا جَآءَهُم مُّوسَىٰ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا بَيِّنَٰتٖ قَالُواْ مَا هَٰذَآ إِلَّا سِحۡرٞ مُّفۡتَرٗى وَمَا سَمِعۡنَا بِهَٰذَا فِيٓ ءَابَآئِنَا ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ

Toen Moesa tot hen kwam met Onze duidelijke tekenen zeiden zij: “Dit is niets anders dan bedachte toverkunsten. Hier hebben wij van onze voorvaderen nog nooit van gehoord.”

But when Moses came to them with Our signs as clear evidences, they said, "This is not except invented magic, and we have not heard of this [religion] among our forefathers

Al-Qasas 28:37

وَقَالَ مُوسَىٰ رَبِّيٓ أَعۡلَمُ بِمَن جَآءَ بِٱلۡهُدَىٰ مِنۡ عِندِهِۦ وَمَن تَكُونُ لَهُۥ عَٰقِبَةُ ٱلدَّارِۚ إِنَّهُۥ لَا يُفۡلِحُ ٱلظَّـٰلِمُونَ

Moesa zei: “Mijn Heer kent het beste degene die met leiding van Hem komt, en degenen die een goed einde in het hiernamaals zullen hebben. Waarlijk, de onrechtvaardigen zullen niet slagen.”

And Moses said, "My Lord is more knowing [than we or you] of who has come with guidance from Him and to whom will be succession in the home. Indeed, wrongdoers do not succeed

Al-Qasas 28:38

وَقَالَ فِرۡعَوۡنُ يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلۡمَلَأُ مَا عَلِمۡتُ لَكُم مِّنۡ إِلَٰهٍ غَيۡرِي فَأَوۡقِدۡ لِي يَٰهَٰمَٰنُ عَلَى ٱلطِّينِ فَٱجۡعَل لِّي صَرۡحٗا لَّعَلِّيٓ أَطَّلِعُ إِلَىٰٓ إِلَٰهِ مُوسَىٰ وَإِنِّي لَأَظُنُّهُۥ مِنَ ٱلۡكَٰذِبِينَ

Farao zei: “O vooraanstaande! Ik weet niet dat jullie een andere god naast mij hebben, steek dus voor mij (een vuur) aan, O Hamam om (stenen van) klei te bakken en voor mij een liefelijke toren te bouwen zodat de God van Moesa (ga zoeken) en waarlijk, ik denk dat hij (Moesa) één van de leugenaars is.”

And Pharaoh said, "O eminent ones, I have not known you to have a god other than me. Then ignite for me, O Haman, [a fire] upon the clay and make for me a tower that I may look at the God of Moses. And indeed, I do think he is among the liars

Al-Qasas 28:39

وَٱسۡتَكۡبَرَ هُوَ وَجُنُودُهُۥ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ بِغَيۡرِ ٱلۡحَقِّ وَظَنُّوٓاْ أَنَّهُمۡ إِلَيۡنَا لَا يُرۡجَعُونَ

En hij en zijn leger waren hoogmoedig in het land, zonder daartoe recht te hebben – en zij dachten dat zij nooit tot Ons zouden terugkeren.

And he was arrogant, he and his soldiers, in the land, without right, and they thought that they would not be returned to Us

Al-Qasas 28:40

فَأَخَذۡنَٰهُ وَجُنُودَهُۥ فَنَبَذۡنَٰهُمۡ فِي ٱلۡيَمِّۖ فَٱنظُرۡ كَيۡفَ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ

Dus grepen Wij hem en zijn leger en Wij gooiden hen allen in de zee. Zie dus wat het einde van de onrechtvaardigen.

So We took him and his soldiers and threw them into the sea. So see how was the end of the wrongdoers

Al-Qasas 28:41

وَجَعَلۡنَٰهُمۡ أَئِمَّةٗ يَدۡعُونَ إِلَى ٱلنَّارِۖ وَيَوۡمَ ٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِ لَا يُنصَرُونَ

En Wij maakten hen tot leiders, uitnodigend naar het vuur en op de Dag der Opstanding zullen zij niet geholpen worden.

And We made them leaders inviting to the Fire, and on the Day of Resurrection they will not be helped

Al-Qasas 28:42

وَأَتۡبَعۡنَٰهُمۡ فِي هَٰذِهِ ٱلدُّنۡيَا لَعۡنَةٗۖ وَيَوۡمَ ٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِ هُم مِّنَ ٱلۡمَقۡبُوحِينَ

En Wij lieten een vloek hen op deze wereld volgen en op de Dag der Opstanding zullen zij onder de verachten zijn.

And We caused to overtake them in this world a curse, and on the Day of Resurrection they will be of the despised

Al-Qasas 28:43

وَلَقَدۡ ءَاتَيۡنَا مُوسَى ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ مِنۢ بَعۡدِ مَآ أَهۡلَكۡنَا ٱلۡقُرُونَ ٱلۡأُولَىٰ بَصَآئِرَ لِلنَّاسِ وَهُدٗى وَرَحۡمَةٗ لَّعَلَّهُمۡ يَتَذَكَّرُونَ

En voorwaar, Wij gaven aan Moesa het boek, nadat Wij de oude generatie vernietigd hadden, als een verlichting voor de mensheid en een leiding en een genade, dat zij er lering uit zullen halen.

And We gave Moses the Scripture, after We had destroyed the former generations, as enlightenment for the people and guidance and mercy that they might be reminded

Al-Qasas 28:44

وَمَا كُنتَ بِجَانِبِ ٱلۡغَرۡبِيِّ إِذۡ قَضَيۡنَآ إِلَىٰ مُوسَى ٱلۡأَمۡرَ وَمَا كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلشَّـٰهِدِينَ

En jij (o Mohammed) was niet aan de westelijke kant (van de Berg) Thoer, toen Wij aan Moesa de Geboden duidelijk maakten, en jij was niet onder de aanwezigen.

And you, [O Muhammad], were not on the western side [of the mount] when We revealed to Moses the command, and you were not among the witnesses [to that]

Al-Qasas 28:45

وَلَٰكِنَّآ أَنشَأۡنَا قُرُونٗا فَتَطَاوَلَ عَلَيۡهِمُ ٱلۡعُمُرُۚ وَمَا كُنتَ ثَاوِيٗا فِيٓ أَهۡلِ مَدۡيَنَ تَتۡلُواْ عَلَيۡهِمۡ ءَايَٰتِنَا وَلَٰكِنَّا كُنَّا مُرۡسِلِينَ

Maar Wij schiepen generaties waar vele jaren voor hen voorbij gingen. En jij was niet één bewoners onder het volk van Median, Die Onze verzen aan hen reciteren. Maar Wij zijn het Die de (boodschappers) blijven sturen.

But We produced [many] generations [after Moses], and prolonged was their duration. And you were not a resident among the people of Madyan, reciting to them Our verses, but We were senders [of this message]

Al-Qasas 28:46

وَمَا كُنتَ بِجَانِبِ ٱلطُّورِ إِذۡ نَادَيۡنَا وَلَٰكِن رَّحۡمَةٗ مِّن رَّبِّكَ لِتُنذِرَ قَوۡمٗا مَّآ أَتَىٰهُم مِّن نَّذِيرٖ مِّن قَبۡلِكَ لَعَلَّهُمۡ يَتَذَكَّرُونَ

En jij stond niet aan de kant van Thoer, toen Wij riepen Maar (jij bent gestuurd) als een genade van jouw Heer, om een volk waarvoor geen waarschuwer voor jou is gekomen te waarschuwen, zodat zij zich zullen herinneren of een vermaning ontvangen.

And you were not at the side of the mount when We called [Moses] but [were sent] as a mercy from your Lord to warn a people to whom no warner had come before you that they might be reminded

Al-Qasas 28:47

وَلَوۡلَآ أَن تُصِيبَهُم مُّصِيبَةُۢ بِمَا قَدَّمَتۡ أَيۡدِيهِمۡ فَيَقُولُواْ رَبَّنَا لَوۡلَآ أَرۡسَلۡتَ إِلَيۡنَا رَسُولٗا فَنَتَّبِعَ ءَايَٰتِكَ وَنَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ

En als (Wij) jou niet (naar het volk van Mekka hadden gestuurd) zou in dat geval een ramp hun voor (hun daden) die hun handen vooruit hebben gestuurd, treffen, zij zouden gezegd hebben: “Onze Heer! Waarom heeft U ons geen boodschapper gestuurd? Wij zouden dan Uw tekenen gevolgd hebben en zouden onder de gelovigen zijn.”

And if not that a disaster should strike them for what their hands put forth [of sins] and they would say, "Our Lord, why did You not send us a messenger so we could have followed Your verses and been among the believers

Al-Qasas 28:48

فَلَمَّا جَآءَهُمُ ٱلۡحَقُّ مِنۡ عِندِنَا قَالُواْ لَوۡلَآ أُوتِيَ مِثۡلَ مَآ أُوتِيَ مُوسَىٰٓۚ أَوَلَمۡ يَكۡفُرُواْ بِمَآ أُوتِيَ مُوسَىٰ مِن قَبۡلُۖ قَالُواْ سِحۡرَانِ تَظَٰهَرَا وَقَالُوٓاْ إِنَّا بِكُلّٖ كَٰفِرُونَ

En toen de waarheid van Ons tot hen gekomen was, zeiden zij: “Waarom is hem niet zoiets als Moesa gegeven?” Waren zij dan niet ongelovig in wat aan Moesa was gegeven? Zij zeiden: “Twee tovenaars die elkaar helpend zijn!” En zij zeiden: “Waarlijk! In beiden zijn wij ongelovigen.”

But when the truth came to them from Us, they said, "Why was he not given like that which was given to Moses?" Did they not disbelieve in that which was given to Moses before? They said, "[They are but] two works of magic supporting each other, and indeed we are, in both, disbelievers

Al-Qasas 28:49

قُلۡ فَأۡتُواْ بِكِتَٰبٖ مِّنۡ عِندِ ٱللَّهِ هُوَ أَهۡدَىٰ مِنۡهُمَآ أَتَّبِعۡهُ إِن كُنتُمۡ صَٰدِقِينَ

Zeg: “Breng dan een boek van Allah dat een betere gids is dan deze twee zodat ik het kan volgen, als jullie waarachtig zijn.”

Say, "Then bring a scripture from Allah which is more guiding than either of them that I may follow it, if you should be truthful

Al-Qasas 28:50

فَإِن لَّمۡ يَسۡتَجِيبُواْ لَكَ فَٱعۡلَمۡ أَنَّمَا يَتَّبِعُونَ أَهۡوَآءَهُمۡۚ وَمَنۡ أَضَلُّ مِمَّنِ ٱتَّبَعَ هَوَىٰهُ بِغَيۡرِ هُدٗى مِّنَ ٱللَّهِۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يَهۡدِي ٱلۡقَوۡمَ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ

Maar als zij jou geen gehoor geven, weet dan dat zij slechts hun eigen lusten volgen. En wie dwaalt er meer af dan degenen die zijn eigen lusten volgt zonder leiding van Allah? Waarlijk, Allah leidt niet het volk dat onrechtvaardig is.

But if they do not respond to you - then know that they only follow their [own] desires. And who is more astray than one who follows his desire without guidance from Allah? Indeed, Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people

Al-Qasas 28:51

۞وَلَقَدۡ وَصَّلۡنَا لَهُمُ ٱلۡقَوۡلَ لَعَلَّهُمۡ يَتَذَكَّرُونَ

En voorwaar, nu hebben Wij het woord verkondigd, waarin het nieuws over alles voor hen staat, zodat zij er lering uit zullen halen.

And We have [repeatedly] conveyed to them the Qur'an that they might be reminded

Al-Qasas 28:52

ٱلَّذِينَ ءَاتَيۡنَٰهُمُ ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ مِن قَبۡلِهِۦ هُم بِهِۦ يُؤۡمِنُونَ

Degenen aan wie Wij het Boek hiervoor hebben gegeven – zij geloven daarin.

Those to whom We gave the Scripture before it - they are believers in it

Al-Qasas 28:53

وَإِذَا يُتۡلَىٰ عَلَيۡهِمۡ قَالُوٓاْ ءَامَنَّا بِهِۦٓ إِنَّهُ ٱلۡحَقُّ مِن رَّبِّنَآ إِنَّا كُنَّا مِن قَبۡلِهِۦ مُسۡلِمِينَ

En als het voor hen gereciteerd wordt, zeggen zij: “Wij geloven erin. Waarlijk, het is de waarheid van onze Heer. Voorwaar, wij behoorden al hiervoor tot degenen die zich aan Allah als moslims onderworpen hadden."

And when it is recited to them, they say, "We have believed in it; indeed, it is the truth from our Lord. Indeed we were, [even] before it, Muslims [submitting to Allah]

Al-Qasas 28:54

أُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ يُؤۡتَوۡنَ أَجۡرَهُم مَّرَّتَيۡنِ بِمَا صَبَرُواْ وَيَدۡرَءُونَ بِٱلۡحَسَنَةِ ٱلسَّيِّئَةَ وَمِمَّا رَزَقۡنَٰهُمۡ يُنفِقُونَ

Hun zullen tweemaal hun beloning krijgen, omdat zij geduldig waren en het kwaad met het goede beantwoordden en datgene uitgaven waarmee Wij hen voorzien hebben.

Those will be given their reward twice for what they patiently endured and [because] they avert evil through good, and from what We have provided them they spend

Al-Qasas 28:55

وَإِذَا سَمِعُواْ ٱللَّغۡوَ أَعۡرَضُواْ عَنۡهُ وَقَالُواْ لَنَآ أَعۡمَٰلُنَا وَلَكُمۡ أَعۡمَٰلُكُمۡ سَلَٰمٌ عَلَيۡكُمۡ لَا نَبۡتَغِي ٱلۡجَٰهِلِينَ

En als zij zondigheid horen (muziek, rodelen,enz)dan trekken zij zich daarvan terug en zeggen: “Voor ons,zijn onze daden en voor jullie zijn jullie daden. Vrede zij met jullie. Wij streven niet naar de onwetenden.”

And when they hear ill speech, they turn away from it and say, "For us are our deeds, and for you are your deeds. Peace will be upon you; we seek not the ignorant

Al-Qasas 28:56

إِنَّكَ لَا تَهۡدِي مَنۡ أَحۡبَبۡتَ وَلَٰكِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَهۡدِي مَن يَشَآءُۚ وَهُوَ أَعۡلَمُ بِٱلۡمُهۡتَدِينَ

Waarlijk! Jij leidt niet wie jij liefhebt, maar Allah leidt wie Hij wil. En Hij kent degenen die geleid zijn het beste.

Indeed, [O Muhammad], you do not guide whom you like, but Allah guides whom He wills. And He is most knowing of the [rightly] guided

Al-Qasas 28:57

وَقَالُوٓاْ إِن نَّتَّبِعِ ٱلۡهُدَىٰ مَعَكَ نُتَخَطَّفۡ مِنۡ أَرۡضِنَآۚ أَوَلَمۡ نُمَكِّن لَّهُمۡ حَرَمًا ءَامِنٗا يُجۡبَىٰٓ إِلَيۡهِ ثَمَرَٰتُ كُلِّ شَيۡءٖ رِّزۡقٗا مِّن لَّدُنَّا وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكۡثَرَهُمۡ لَا يَعۡلَمُونَ

En zij zeggen: “Als wij de leiding met jou (Mohammed) volgen, dan worden wij van ons land gegrepen." Hebben Wij dan niet voor hen een veilig land (Mekka) ingesteld, waarvoor allerlei soorten fruit naartoe wordt gebracht – een voorziening van Allah, maar de meesten van hen weten niet.

And they say, "If we were to follow the guidance with you, we would be swept from our land." Have we not established for them a safe sanctuary to which are brought the fruits of all things as provision from Us? But most of them do not know

Al-Qasas 28:58

وَكَمۡ أَهۡلَكۡنَا مِن قَرۡيَةِۭ بَطِرَتۡ مَعِيشَتَهَاۖ فَتِلۡكَ مَسَٰكِنُهُمۡ لَمۡ تُسۡكَن مِّنۢ بَعۡدِهِمۡ إِلَّا قَلِيلٗاۖ وَكُنَّا نَحۡنُ ٱلۡوَٰرِثِينَ

En hoeveel steden hebben Wij vernietigd, die ondankbaar waren voor de middelen van levensonderhoud! En dat zijn hun woonplaatsen waarin na hen nog maar weinig mensen woonden. En waarlijk! En wij waren de erfgenamen.

And how many a city have We destroyed that was insolent in its [way of] living, and those are their dwellings which have not been inhabited after them except briefly. And it is We who were the inheritors

Al-Qasas 28:59

وَمَا كَانَ رَبُّكَ مُهۡلِكَ ٱلۡقُرَىٰ حَتَّىٰ يَبۡعَثَ فِيٓ أُمِّهَا رَسُولٗا يَتۡلُواْ عَلَيۡهِمۡ ءَايَٰتِنَاۚ وَمَا كُنَّا مُهۡلِكِي ٱلۡقُرَىٰٓ إِلَّا وَأَهۡلُهَا ظَٰلِمُونَ

En nooit zal jullie Heer de steden vernietigen tot Hij tot de moederstad een boodschapper stuurt die voor hen Onze verzen reciteert. En nooit zullen Wij de steden vernietigen tenzij de bevolking onrechtvaardig is.

And never would your Lord have destroyed the cities until He had sent to their mother a messenger reciting to them Our verses. And We would not destroy the cities except while their people were wrongdoers

Al-Qasas 28:60

وَمَآ أُوتِيتُم مِّن شَيۡءٖ فَمَتَٰعُ ٱلۡحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنۡيَا وَزِينَتُهَاۚ وَمَا عِندَ ٱللَّهِ خَيۡرٞ وَأَبۡقَىٰٓۚ أَفَلَا تَعۡقِلُونَ

En wat jullie ook gegeven is, is slechts een vermaak van het leven van (deze) wereld en haar versiering, en dat wat bij Allah is, is beter en zal voor eeuwig blijven. Hebben jullie dan geen verstand?

And whatever thing you [people] have been given - it is [only for] the enjoyment of worldly life and its adornment. And what is with Allah is better and more lasting; so will you not use reason

Al-Qasas 28:61

أَفَمَن وَعَدۡنَٰهُ وَعۡدًا حَسَنٗا فَهُوَ لَٰقِيهِ كَمَن مَّتَّعۡنَٰهُ مَتَٰعَ ٱلۡحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنۡيَا ثُمَّ هُوَ يَوۡمَ ٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِ مِنَ ٱلۡمُحۡضَرِينَ

Is hij aan wie Wij een uitmuntende belofte hebben gegeven, waarvan hij zal ontdekken dat het waar is, hetzelfde als degenen die Wij de luxe van het leven van (deze) wereld laten genieten, hij zal dan op de Dag der Opstanding verkeren onder degenen die in de Hel verzameld zullen worden.

Then is he whom We have promised a good promise which he will obtain like he for whom We provided enjoyment of worldly life [but] then he is, on the Day of Resurrection, among those presented [for punishment in Hell]

Al-Qasas 28:62

وَيَوۡمَ يُنَادِيهِمۡ فَيَقُولُ أَيۡنَ شُرَكَآءِيَ ٱلَّذِينَ كُنتُمۡ تَزۡعُمُونَ

En (gedenk) de Dag wanneer Hij (Allah) hen zal roepen en zeggen: “Waar zijn Mijn (zogenaamde) deelgenoten, die jullie plachten toe te voegen?”

And [warn of] the Day He will call them and say, "Where are My 'partners' which you used to claim

Al-Qasas 28:63

قَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ حَقَّ عَلَيۡهِمُ ٱلۡقَوۡلُ رَبَّنَا هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ ٱلَّذِينَ أَغۡوَيۡنَآ أَغۡوَيۡنَٰهُمۡ كَمَا غَوَيۡنَاۖ تَبَرَّأۡنَآ إِلَيۡكَۖ مَا كَانُوٓاْ إِيَّانَا يَعۡبُدُونَ

Degenen waarvoor het woord de waarheid werd zullen zeggen: “Onze Heer! Dit zijn degenen die wij hebben laten dwalen. Wij hebben hen laten dwalen zoals wij zelf dwaalden. Wij zijn vrij van hun slechtheid. Wij waren het niet die zij aanbaden.”

Those upon whom the word will have come into effect will say, "Our Lord, these are the ones we led to error. We led them to error just as we were in error. We declare our disassociation [from them] to You. They did not used to worship us

Al-Qasas 28:64

وَقِيلَ ٱدۡعُواْ شُرَكَآءَكُمۡ فَدَعَوۡهُمۡ فَلَمۡ يَسۡتَجِيبُواْ لَهُمۡ وَرَأَوُاْ ٱلۡعَذَابَۚ لَوۡ أَنَّهُمۡ كَانُواْ يَهۡتَدُونَ

En er zal gezegd worden: “Roep jullie deelgenoten op” en zij zullen hen oproepen, maar zij zullen hen niet beantwoorden en zij zullen de bestraffing zien. (Dan zullen zij wensen) dat zij maar geleid zouden zijn!

And it will be said, "Invoke your 'partners' " and they will invoke them; but they will not respond to them, and they will see the punishment. If only they had followed guidance

Al-Qasas 28:65

وَيَوۡمَ يُنَادِيهِمۡ فَيَقُولُ مَاذَآ أَجَبۡتُمُ ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِينَ

En (gedenk) de Dag dat (Allah) hen zal roepen en zeggen: “Wat voor antwoord gaven jullie aan de boodschappers?”

And [mention] the Day He will call them and say, "What did you answer the messengers

Al-Qasas 28:66

فَعَمِيَتۡ عَلَيۡهِمُ ٱلۡأَنۢبَآءُ يَوۡمَئِذٖ فَهُمۡ لَا يَتَسَآءَلُونَ

Dan zal het nieuws van het goede antwoord voor hen op die dag verduisterd worden en zij zullen niet in staat zijn om het elkaar te vragen.

But the information will be unapparent to them that Day, so they will not [be able to] ask one another

Al-Qasas 28:67

فَأَمَّا مَن تَابَ وَءَامَنَ وَعَمِلَ صَٰلِحٗا فَعَسَىٰٓ أَن يَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُفۡلِحِينَ

Maar voor degenen die berouw tonen, geloven en goede daden verrichtten die zal dan onder degenen verkeren die zullen slagen.

But as for one who had repented, believed, and done righteousness, it is promised by Allah that he will be among the successful

Al-Qasas 28:68

وَرَبُّكَ يَخۡلُقُ مَا يَشَآءُ وَيَخۡتَارُۗ مَا كَانَ لَهُمُ ٱلۡخِيَرَةُۚ سُبۡحَٰنَ ٱللَّهِ وَتَعَٰلَىٰ عَمَّا يُشۡرِكُونَ

En jullie Heer schept wat Hij wil en kiest, zij hebben geen keuze. Verheerlijkt is Allah en verheven boven alles wat zij (met Hem) als deelgenoten verenigen.

And your Lord creates what He wills and chooses; not for them was the choice. Exalted is Allah and high above what they associate with Him

Al-Qasas 28:69

وَرَبُّكَ يَعۡلَمُ مَا تُكِنُّ صُدُورُهُمۡ وَمَا يُعۡلِنُونَ

En jouw Heer weet wat zij in hun borsten verbergen en wat zij onthullen.

And your Lord knows what their breasts conceal and what they declare

Al-Qasas 28:70

وَهُوَ ٱللَّهُ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَۖ لَهُ ٱلۡحَمۡدُ فِي ٱلۡأُولَىٰ وَٱلۡأٓخِرَةِۖ وَلَهُ ٱلۡحُكۡمُ وَإِلَيۡهِ تُرۡجَعُونَ

En Hij is Allah. Geen heeft het recht aanbeden te worden behalve Hij. Aan Hem is alle lofprijzing, het eerste en het laatste. En aan Hem is het besluit en tot Hem zullen jullie (allen) terugkeren.

And He is Allah; there is no deity except Him. To Him is [due all] praise in the first [life] and the Hereafter. And His is the [final] decision, and to Him you will be returned

Al-Qasas 28:71

قُلۡ أَرَءَيۡتُمۡ إِن جَعَلَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيۡكُمُ ٱلَّيۡلَ سَرۡمَدًا إِلَىٰ يَوۡمِ ٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِ مَنۡ إِلَٰهٌ غَيۡرُ ٱللَّهِ يَأۡتِيكُم بِضِيَآءٍۚ أَفَلَا تَسۡمَعُونَ

Zeg: “Vertel mij! Als Allah voor jullie de nacht permanent zou maken tot de Dag der Opstanding, Is er dan een andere god naast Allah die jullie het licht kan brengen. Zullen jullie dan niet luisteren?”

Say, "Have you considered: if Allah should make for you the night continuous until the Day of Resurrection, what deity other than Allah could bring you light? Then will you not hear

Al-Qasas 28:72

قُلۡ أَرَءَيۡتُمۡ إِن جَعَلَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيۡكُمُ ٱلنَّهَارَ سَرۡمَدًا إِلَىٰ يَوۡمِ ٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِ مَنۡ إِلَٰهٌ غَيۡرُ ٱللَّهِ يَأۡتِيكُم بِلَيۡلٖ تَسۡكُنُونَ فِيهِۚ أَفَلَا تُبۡصِرُونَ

Zeg: “Vertel mij! Als Allah voor jullie de dag permanent zou maken tot de Dag der Opstanding, is er dan een andere god naast Allah die jullie de nacht waarin jullie rusten kan brengen? Willen jullie het dan niet zien?

Say, "Have you considered: if Allah should make for you the day continuous until the Day of Resurrection, what deity other than Allah could bring you a night in which you may rest? Then will you not see

Al-Qasas 28:73

وَمِن رَّحۡمَتِهِۦ جَعَلَ لَكُمُ ٱلَّيۡلَ وَٱلنَّهَارَ لِتَسۡكُنُواْ فِيهِ وَلِتَبۡتَغُواْ مِن فَضۡلِهِۦ وَلَعَلَّكُمۡ تَشۡكُرُونَ

Het is door Zijn genade dat Hij voor jullie de nacht en de dag heeft gemaakt– dat jullie daarin mogen rusten en dat jullie Zijn overvloed mogen zoeken zodat jullie dankbaar zullen zijn.

And out of His mercy He made for you the night and the day that you may rest therein and [by day] seek from His bounty and [that] perhaps you will be grateful

Al-Qasas 28:74

وَيَوۡمَ يُنَادِيهِمۡ فَيَقُولُ أَيۡنَ شُرَكَآءِيَ ٱلَّذِينَ كُنتُمۡ تَزۡعُمُونَ

En (gedenk) de Dag waarop Hij hen zal roepen) en zal zeggen: “Waar zijn Mijn (zogenaamde) deelgenoten, die jullie plachten toe te voegen?”

And [warn of] the Day He will call them and say, "Where are my 'partners' which you used to claim

Al-Qasas 28:75

وَنَزَعۡنَا مِن كُلِّ أُمَّةٖ شَهِيدٗا فَقُلۡنَا هَاتُواْ بُرۡهَٰنَكُمۡ فَعَلِمُوٓاْ أَنَّ ٱلۡحَقَّ لِلَّهِ وَضَلَّ عَنۡهُم مَّا كَانُواْ يَفۡتَرُونَ

En Wij zullen uit elke natie een getuige nemen en Wij zullen zeggen: “Geef jullie bewijzen.” Dan zullen zij weten dat de waarheid (alleen) bij Allah is en de leugens die zij verzonnen hadden zullen van hen verdwijnen.

And We will extract from every nation a witness and say, "Produce your proof," and they will know that the truth belongs to Allah, and lost from them is that which they used to invent

Al-Qasas 28:76

۞إِنَّ قَٰرُونَ كَانَ مِن قَوۡمِ مُوسَىٰ فَبَغَىٰ عَلَيۡهِمۡۖ وَءَاتَيۡنَٰهُ مِنَ ٱلۡكُنُوزِ مَآ إِنَّ مَفَاتِحَهُۥ لَتَنُوٓأُ بِٱلۡعُصۡبَةِ أُوْلِي ٱلۡقُوَّةِ إِذۡ قَالَ لَهُۥ قَوۡمُهُۥ لَا تَفۡرَحۡۖ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يُحِبُّ ٱلۡفَرِحِينَ

Waarlijk, Karoen behoorde tot het volk van Moesa, maar hij gedroeg zich hooghartig tegen hen. En Wij gaven hem van de schatten, datgene waarvoor de sleutels voor de lichamen van sterke mannen een last was om die te dragen. Toen zijn volk tegen hem zei: “Wees niet blij (met ondankbaarheid voor de gunsten van Allah, en door jezelf). Maar Waarlijk! Allah houdt niet van degenen die blij zijn (met de ondankbaarheid voor de gunsten van Allah).

Indeed, Qarun was from the people of Moses, but he tyrannized them. And We gave him of treasures whose keys would burden a band of strong men; thereupon his people said to him, "Do not exult. Indeed, Allah does not like the exultant

Al-Qasas 28:77

وَٱبۡتَغِ فِيمَآ ءَاتَىٰكَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلدَّارَ ٱلۡأٓخِرَةَۖ وَلَا تَنسَ نَصِيبَكَ مِنَ ٱلدُّنۡيَاۖ وَأَحۡسِن كَمَآ أَحۡسَنَ ٱللَّهُ إِلَيۡكَۖ وَلَا تَبۡغِ ٱلۡفَسَادَ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِۖ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يُحِبُّ ٱلۡمُفۡسِدِينَ

Zoek met datgene (de welvaart) die Allah jou gegeven heeft, het Huis van het hiernamaals, en vergeet niet jouw aandeel niet in deze wereld en doe goed zoals Allah goed voor jou doet, en zaai geen verderf in het land. Waarlijk, Allah houdt niet van de verderfzaaiers.”

But seek, through that which Allah has given you, the home of the Hereafter; and [yet], do not forget your share of the world. And do good as Allah has done good to you. And desire not corruption in the land. Indeed, Allah does not like corrupters

Al-Qasas 28:78

قَالَ إِنَّمَآ أُوتِيتُهُۥ عَلَىٰ عِلۡمٍ عِندِيٓۚ أَوَلَمۡ يَعۡلَمۡ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ قَدۡ أَهۡلَكَ مِن قَبۡلِهِۦ مِنَ ٱلۡقُرُونِ مَنۡ هُوَ أَشَدُّ مِنۡهُ قُوَّةٗ وَأَكۡثَرُ جَمۡعٗاۚ وَلَا يُسۡـَٔلُ عَن ذُنُوبِهِمُ ٱلۡمُجۡرِمُونَ

Hij zei: “Dit is aan mij gegeven alleen vanwege de kennis die ik bezit.” Wist hij niet dat Allah vóór hem generaties mensen vernietigd heeft die sterker dan hem waren en groter in aantal (van rijkdom) van wat zij verzameld hadden. Maar de misdadigers zullen niet over hun zonden gevraagd worden (omdat door hun ongeloof zij rechtstreeks naar de Hel gesleept worden).

He said, "I was only given it because of knowledge I have." Did he not know that Allah had destroyed before him of generations those who were greater than him in power and greater in accumulation [of wealth]? But the criminals, about their sins, will not be asked

Al-Qasas 28:79

فَخَرَجَ عَلَىٰ قَوۡمِهِۦ فِي زِينَتِهِۦۖ قَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ يُرِيدُونَ ٱلۡحَيَوٰةَ ٱلدُّنۡيَا يَٰلَيۡتَ لَنَا مِثۡلَ مَآ أُوتِيَ قَٰرُونُ إِنَّهُۥ لَذُو حَظٍّ عَظِيمٖ

Zo ging hij zijn mensen voor in zijn prachtvertoon. Degenen die het leven van deze wereld wensten zeiden: “Ah, wij wensten dat wij het ook zo hadden als Karoen het gegeven is. Waarlijk! Hij is de bezitter van een grote rijkdom.”

So he came out before his people in his adornment. Those who desired the worldly life said, "Oh, would that we had like what was given to Qarun. Indeed, he is one of great fortune

Al-Qasas 28:80

وَقَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُواْ ٱلۡعِلۡمَ وَيۡلَكُمۡ ثَوَابُ ٱللَّهِ خَيۡرٞ لِّمَنۡ ءَامَنَ وَعَمِلَ صَٰلِحٗاۚ وَلَا يُلَقَّىٰهَآ إِلَّا ٱلصَّـٰبِرُونَ

Maar degenen die (religieuze) kennis was gegeven zeiden: “Wee voor jullie! De beloning van Allah is beter voor degenen die geloven en goede daden verrichten en dit zal niemand krijgen behalve degene die geduldig is.”

But those who had been given knowledge said, "Woe to you! The reward of Allah is better for he who believes and does righteousness. And none are granted it except the patient

Al-Qasas 28:81

فَخَسَفۡنَا بِهِۦ وَبِدَارِهِ ٱلۡأَرۡضَ فَمَا كَانَ لَهُۥ مِن فِئَةٖ يَنصُرُونَهُۥ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ وَمَا كَانَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُنتَصِرِينَ

Wij zorgden er dus voor dat de aarde hem en zijn woonplaats opzwolg. En hij had geen groep of partij om hem tegen Allah te helpen, noch behoorden hij tot degenen die zichzelf kon redden.

And We caused the earth to swallow him and his home. And there was for him no company to aid him other than Allah, nor was he of those who [could] defend themselves

Al-Qasas 28:82

وَأَصۡبَحَ ٱلَّذِينَ تَمَنَّوۡاْ مَكَانَهُۥ بِٱلۡأَمۡسِ يَقُولُونَ وَيۡكَأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَبۡسُطُ ٱلرِّزۡقَ لِمَن يَشَآءُ مِنۡ عِبَادِهِۦ وَيَقۡدِرُۖ لَوۡلَآ أَن مَّنَّ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيۡنَا لَخَسَفَ بِنَاۖ وَيۡكَأَنَّهُۥ لَا يُفۡلِحُ ٱلۡكَٰفِرُونَ

En degenen die een dag eerder (een positie als) zijn positie hadden gewenst begonnen te zeggen: “Weten jullie niet dat het Allah is Die de voorziening vergroot voor wie Hij maar wilt van Zijn dienaren of vermindert. Als het niet was geweest dat Allah ons begunstigd had, dan zou Hij ervoor kunnen zorgen dat de aarde ons (ook) opzwelgt! Weten jullie niet dat de ongelovigen nooit zullen slagen.”

And those who had wished for his position the previous day began to say, "Oh, how Allah extends provision to whom He wills of His servants and restricts it! If not that Allah had conferred favor on us, He would have caused it to swallow us. Oh, how the disbelievers do not succeed

Al-Qasas 28:83

تِلۡكَ ٱلدَّارُ ٱلۡأٓخِرَةُ نَجۡعَلُهَا لِلَّذِينَ لَا يُرِيدُونَ عُلُوّٗا فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَلَا فَسَادٗاۚ وَٱلۡعَٰقِبَةُ لِلۡمُتَّقِينَ

Dat het Huis van het hiernamaals wat Wij aan degenen zullen toekennen die niet tegen de waarheid met trots in opstand komen en onderdrukking in het land noch ellende veroorzaken door het plegen van misdaden. En het goede einde is voor de godvrezenden (daarom moeten we veel geduld hebben in deze periode).

That home of the Hereafter We assign to those who do not desire exaltedness upon the earth or corruption. And the [best] outcome is for the righteous

Al-Qasas 28:84

مَن جَآءَ بِٱلۡحَسَنَةِ فَلَهُۥ خَيۡرٞ مِّنۡهَاۖ وَمَن جَآءَ بِٱلسَّيِّئَةِ فَلَا يُجۡزَى ٱلَّذِينَ عَمِلُواْ ٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِ إِلَّا مَا كَانُواْ يَعۡمَلُونَ

Iedereen die met een goede daad komt zal daar beter van worden en iedereen die met een slechte daad komt dan zullen degenen die kwade daden verrichten slechts vergoed worden voor wat zij gedaan hebben.

Whoever comes [on the Day of Judgement] with a good deed will have better than it; and whoever comes with an evil deed - then those who did evil deeds will not be recompensed except [as much as] what they used to do

Al-Qasas 28:85

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِي فَرَضَ عَلَيۡكَ ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ لَرَآدُّكَ إِلَىٰ مَعَادٖۚ قُل رَّبِّيٓ أَعۡلَمُ مَن جَآءَ بِٱلۡهُدَىٰ وَمَنۡ هُوَ فِي ضَلَٰلٖ مُّبِينٖ

Waarlijk, Hij Die jou de Koran gegeven heeft zal jou zeker terug brengen naar de plaats van terugkeer. Zeg: “Mijn Heer weet van degenen die leiding brengt en degenen die in een duidelijke afdwaling verkeert."

Indeed, [O Muhammad], He who imposed upon you the Qur'an will take you back to a place of return. Say, "My Lord is most knowing of who brings guidance and who is in clear error

Al-Qasas 28:86

وَمَا كُنتَ تَرۡجُوٓاْ أَن يُلۡقَىٰٓ إِلَيۡكَ ٱلۡكِتَٰبُ إِلَّا رَحۡمَةٗ مِّن رَّبِّكَۖ فَلَا تَكُونَنَّ ظَهِيرٗا لِّلۡكَٰفِرِينَ

En jij had niet verwacht dat het Boek naar jou naar beneden werd gestuurd, maar het is een genade van jouw Heer. Wees dus nooit een ondersteuner van de ongelovigen.

And you were not expecting that the Book would be conveyed to you, but [it is] a mercy from your Lord. So do not be an assistant to the disbelievers

Al-Qasas 28:87

وَلَا يَصُدُّنَّكَ عَنۡ ءَايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ بَعۡدَ إِذۡ أُنزِلَتۡ إِلَيۡكَۖ وَٱدۡعُ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَۖ وَلَا تَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلۡمُشۡرِكِينَ

En laat hen jou niet doen afkeren van (het prediken) van de tekenen van Allah nadat zij aan jou neer zijn gezonden en nodig (de mensen) uit om (te in geloven) jouw Heer en behoor niet tot afgodendienaars.

And never let them avert you from the verses of Allah after they have been revealed to you. And invite [people] to your Lord. And never be of those who associate others with Allah

Al-Qasas 28:88

وَلَا تَدۡعُ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَٰهًا ءَاخَرَۘ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَۚ كُلُّ شَيۡءٍ هَالِكٌ إِلَّا وَجۡهَهُۥۚ لَهُ ٱلۡحُكۡمُ وَإِلَيۡهِ تُرۡجَعُونَ

En roep geen andere goden naast Allah aan. Geen heeft het recht om aanbeden te worden behalve Hij. Alles zal verdwijnen behalve Zijn gezicht (zoals het past bij zijn perfectie). Bij Hem is het besluit en tot Hem zullen jullie (allen) terugkeren.

And do not invoke with Allah another deity. There is no deity except Him. Everything will be destroyed except His Face. His is the judgement, and to Him you will be returned
