Soera Al-Buruj (85) — De Sterrenbeelden · البروج
Mekkaanse soera, 22 verzen, als 27e geopenbaard.
De sterrenbeelden en de gelovigen van de greppel die door het vuur heen trouw bleven.
Al-Buruj 85:1
وَٱلسَّمَآءِ ذَاتِ ٱلۡبُرُوجِ
Bij de hemel en haar sterren.
By the sky containing great stars
Al-Buruj 85:2
وَٱلۡيَوۡمِ ٱلۡمَوۡعُودِ
En bij de beloofde dag (de dag des oordeels).
And [by] the promised Day
Al-Buruj 85:3
وَشَاهِدٖ وَمَشۡهُودٖ
En bij de dag der getuigenis en bij de getuigde dag.
And [by] the witness and what is witnessed
Al-Buruj 85:4
قُتِلَ أَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلۡأُخۡدُودِ
Vervloekt waren de mensen van de greppels.
Cursed were the companions of the trench
Al-Buruj 85:5
ٱلنَّارِ ذَاتِ ٱلۡوَقُودِ
Vuur was overvloedig van brandstof voorzien.
[Containing] the fire full of fuel
Al-Buruj 85:6
إِذۡ هُمۡ عَلَيۡهَا قُعُودٞ
Toen zij erbij zaten.
When they were sitting near it
Al-Buruj 85:7
وَهُمۡ عَلَىٰ مَا يَفۡعَلُونَ بِٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ شُهُودٞ
En zij keken toe naar wat zij met de gelovigen deden.
And they, to what they were doing against the believers, were witnesses
Al-Buruj 85:8
وَمَا نَقَمُواْ مِنۡهُمۡ إِلَّآ أَن يُؤۡمِنُواْ بِٱللَّهِ ٱلۡعَزِيزِ ٱلۡحَمِيدِ
Zij hadden niets tegen hen, behalve dan dat zij in Allah geloofden, de Almachtige, Die alle lof waardig is!
And they resented them not except because they believed in Allah, the Exalted in Might, the Praiseworthy
Al-Buruj 85:9
ٱلَّذِي لَهُۥ مُلۡكُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ وَٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيۡءٖ شَهِيدٌ
Aan Wie het rijk van de hemelen en de aarde toebehoort. En Allah is van alles Getuige.
To whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. And Allah, over all things, is Witness
Al-Buruj 85:10
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ فَتَنُواْ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ وَٱلۡمُؤۡمِنَٰتِ ثُمَّ لَمۡ يَتُوبُواْ فَلَهُمۡ عَذَابُ جَهَنَّمَ وَلَهُمۡ عَذَابُ ٱلۡحَرِيقِ
Waarlijk, degenen die de gelovige mannen en de gelovige vrouwen beproeven, en zich niet berouwvol (tot Allah) richten, zullen de marteling van de hel krijgen, en zullen de bestraffing van het brandende vuur ontvangen.
Indeed, those who have tortured the believing men and believing women and then have not repented will have the punishment of Hell, and they will have the punishment of the Burning Fire
Al-Buruj 85:11
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَٰتِ لَهُمۡ جَنَّـٰتٞ تَجۡرِي مِن تَحۡتِهَا ٱلۡأَنۡهَٰرُۚ ذَٰلِكَ ٱلۡفَوۡزُ ٱلۡكَبِيرُ
Waarlijk, degenen die geloven en goede daden verrichten, voor hen zal er een tuin zijn waar rivieren onderdoor stromen, dat is een groot succes.
Indeed, those who have believed and done righteous deeds will have gardens beneath which rivers flow. That is the great attainment
Al-Buruj 85:12
إِنَّ بَطۡشَ رَبِّكَ لَشَدِيدٌ
Waarlijk, de greep van je Heer is hard.
Indeed, the vengeance of your Lord is severe
Al-Buruj 85:13
إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ يُبۡدِئُ وَيُعِيدُ
Waarlijk, Hij is het Die schept en herschept.
Indeed, it is He who originates [creation] and repeats
Al-Buruj 85:14
وَهُوَ ٱلۡغَفُورُ ٱلۡوَدُودُ
Hij is de meest Vergevende, de meest Liefdevolle.
And He is the Forgiving, the Affectionate
Al-Buruj 85:15
ذُو ٱلۡعَرۡشِ ٱلۡمَجِيدُ
Eigenaar van de troon, de Glorieuze.
Honorable Owner of the Throne
Al-Buruj 85:16
فَعَّالٞ لِّمَا يُرِيدُ
Hij doet wat Hij Zich voorneemt.
Effecter of what He intends
Al-Buruj 85:17
هَلۡ أَتَىٰكَ حَدِيثُ ٱلۡجُنُودِ
Heeft het verhaal jullie bereikt van de legers.
Has there reached you the story of the soldiers
Al-Buruj 85:18
فِرۡعَوۡنَ وَثَمُودَ
Van de Farao en de Thamoed?
[Those of] Pharaoh and Thamud
Al-Buruj 85:19
بَلِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ فِي تَكۡذِيبٖ
Welnee! De ongelovigen bleven standvastig in hun ontkenning.
But they who disbelieve are in [persistent] denial
Al-Buruj 85:20
وَٱللَّهُ مِن وَرَآئِهِم مُّحِيطُۢ
En Allah sloot ze van achter in.
While Allah encompasses them from behind
Al-Buruj 85:21
بَلۡ هُوَ قُرۡءَانٞ مَّجِيدٞ
Welnee! Het is echter een glorieuze Koran.
But this is an honored Qur'an
Al-Buruj 85:22
فِي لَوۡحٖ مَّحۡفُوظِۭ
(Ingeschreven) in de de bewaarde tafelen.
[Inscribed] in a Preserved Slate
