De duinen van 'Ad en de djinn die de Koran hoorden en geloofden.
Al-Ahqaf 46:1
حمٓ
Ha Miem.
Ha, Meem
Al-Ahqaf 46:2
تَنزِيلُ ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلۡعَزِيزِ ٱلۡحَكِيمِ
De openbaring van het boek is van Allah, de Almachtige, de Alwijze.
The revelation of the Book is from Allah, the Exalted in Might, the Wise
Al-Ahqaf 46:3
مَا خَلَقۡنَا ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ وَمَا بَيۡنَهُمَآ إِلَّا بِٱلۡحَقِّ وَأَجَلٖ مُّسَمّٗىۚ وَٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ عَمَّآ أُنذِرُواْ مُعۡرِضُونَ
Wij hebben de hemelen en de aarde en alles wat daar tussen is niet anders geschapen dan in waarheid en voor een vastgestelde termijn. Maar de ongelovigen keren zich van dat waarvoor zij gewaarschuwd zijn af.
We did not create the heavens and earth and what is between them except in truth and [for] a specified term. But those who disbelieve, from that of which they are warned, are turning away
Al-Ahqaf 46:4
قُلۡ أَرَءَيۡتُم مَّا تَدۡعُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ أَرُونِي مَاذَا خَلَقُواْ مِنَ ٱلۡأَرۡضِ أَمۡ لَهُمۡ شِرۡكٞ فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِۖ ٱئۡتُونِي بِكِتَٰبٖ مِّن قَبۡلِ هَٰذَآ أَوۡ أَثَٰرَةٖ مِّنۡ عِلۡمٍ إِن كُنتُمۡ صَٰدِقِينَ
Zeg (O Mohammed): Vertel mij over datgene wat jullie naast Allah aanroepen! Wat hebben zij van de aarde geschapen? Of wat is hun deel (in de schepping) van de hemelen? Breng mij een boek met wat kennis, als jullie waarachtig zijn!
Say, [O Muhammad], "Have you considered that which you invoke besides Allah? Show me what they have created of the earth; or did they have partnership in [creation of] the heavens? Bring me a scripture [revealed] before this or a [remaining] trace of knowledge, if you should be truthful
Al-Ahqaf 46:5
وَمَنۡ أَضَلُّ مِمَّن يَدۡعُواْ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ مَن لَّا يَسۡتَجِيبُ لَهُۥٓ إِلَىٰ يَوۡمِ ٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِ وَهُمۡ عَن دُعَآئِهِمۡ غَٰفِلُونَ
En wie is er verder afgedwaald dan degene die anderen naast Allah (aanroept), die hem niet antwoorden tot de dag der opstanding, en die zich (zelfs) niet bewust zijn van hun aanroepingen (tot hen).
And who is more astray than he who invokes besides Allah those who will not respond to him until the Day of Resurrection, and they, of their invocation, are unaware
Al-Ahqaf 46:6
وَإِذَا حُشِرَ ٱلنَّاسُ كَانُواْ لَهُمۡ أَعۡدَآءٗ وَكَانُواْ بِعِبَادَتِهِمۡ كَٰفِرِينَ
En als de mensheid verzameld is worden zij vijanden voor hen en zij zullen hun aanbidding ontkennen.
And when the people are gathered [that Day], they [who were invoked] will be enemies to them, and they will be deniers of their worship
Al-Ahqaf 46:7
وَإِذَا تُتۡلَىٰ عَلَيۡهِمۡ ءَايَٰتُنَا بَيِّنَٰتٖ قَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ لِلۡحَقِّ لَمَّا جَآءَهُمۡ هَٰذَا سِحۡرٞ مُّبِينٌ
En als Onze duidelijke verzen voor hen gereciteerd worden, zeggen de ongelovigen over de waarheid als die hen bereikt: “Dit is duidelijke toverij!”
And when Our verses are recited to them as clear evidences, those who disbelieve say of the truth when it has come to them, "This is obvious magic
Al-Ahqaf 46:8
أَمۡ يَقُولُونَ ٱفۡتَرَىٰهُۖ قُلۡ إِنِ ٱفۡتَرَيۡتُهُۥ فَلَا تَمۡلِكُونَ لِي مِنَ ٱللَّهِ شَيۡـًٔاۖ هُوَ أَعۡلَمُ بِمَا تُفِيضُونَ فِيهِۚ كَفَىٰ بِهِۦ شَهِيدَۢا بَيۡنِي وَبَيۡنَكُمۡۖ وَهُوَ ٱلۡغَفُورُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
Of zij zeggen: “Hij (Mohammed) heeft het verzonnen.” Zeg (o Mohammed) “Als ik het verzonnen had dan zouden jullie geen macht hebben om mij tegen bestraffing te helpen. Hij is als getuige tussen jullie en mij voldoende! En Hij is de meest Vergevende, de meest Barmhartige.”
Or do they say, "He has invented it?" Say, "If I have invented it, you will not possess for me [the power of protection] from Allah at all. He is most knowing of that in which you are involved. Sufficient is He as Witness between me and you, and He is the Forgiving the Merciful
Al-Ahqaf 46:9
قُلۡ مَا كُنتُ بِدۡعٗا مِّنَ ٱلرُّسُلِ وَمَآ أَدۡرِي مَا يُفۡعَلُ بِي وَلَا بِكُمۡۖ إِنۡ أَتَّبِعُ إِلَّا مَا يُوحَىٰٓ إِلَيَّ وَمَآ أَنَا۠ إِلَّا نَذِيرٞ مُّبِينٞ
Zeg: “Ik ben niet de eerste onder de boodschappers noch weet ik wat er met mij of jullie zal gebeuren. Ik volg slechts wat aan mij geopenbaard is, en ik ben niets anders dan een duidelijke waarschuwer.”
Say, "I am not something original among the messengers, nor do I know what will be done with me or with you. I only follow that which is revealed to me, and I am not but a clear warner
Al-Ahqaf 46:10
قُلۡ أَرَءَيۡتُمۡ إِن كَانَ مِنۡ عِندِ ٱللَّهِ وَكَفَرۡتُم بِهِۦ وَشَهِدَ شَاهِدٞ مِّنۢ بَنِيٓ إِسۡرَـٰٓءِيلَ عَلَىٰ مِثۡلِهِۦ فَـَٔامَنَ وَٱسۡتَكۡبَرۡتُمۡۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يَهۡدِي ٱلۡقَوۡمَ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ
Zeg (o Mohammed): “Vertel mij! Als dit (de Koran)van Allah is, en jullie het ontkennen, en een getuige van de kinderen van Israël verklaart dat deze Koran van Allah is zoals, dus hij geloofde terwijl jullie te hoogmoedig zijn.” Waarlijk! Allah leidt niet het volk dat onrechtvaardig is.
Say, "Have you considered: if the Qur'an was from Allah, and you disbelieved in it while a witness from the Children of Israel has testified to something similar and believed while you were arrogant...?" Indeed, Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people
Al-Ahqaf 46:11
وَقَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ لِلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ لَوۡ كَانَ خَيۡرٗا مَّا سَبَقُونَآ إِلَيۡهِۚ وَإِذۡ لَمۡ يَهۡتَدُواْ بِهِۦ فَسَيَقُولُونَ هَٰذَآ إِفۡكٞ قَدِيمٞ
En degenen die ongelovig zijn zeggen tegen degenen die geloven: “Als het (de Koran) iets goeds geweest was, zouden zij ons hierin niet zijn voorgegaan! En omdat zij zich daardoor niet hebben laten leiden zullen zij zeggen: “Dit is slechts een oude leugen!”
And those who disbelieve say of those who believe, "If it had [truly] been good, they would not have preceded us to it." And when they are not guided by it, they will say, "This is an ancient falsehood
Al-Ahqaf 46:12
وَمِن قَبۡلِهِۦ كِتَٰبُ مُوسَىٰٓ إِمَامٗا وَرَحۡمَةٗۚ وَهَٰذَا كِتَٰبٞ مُّصَدِّقٞ لِّسَانًا عَرَبِيّٗا لِّيُنذِرَ ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُواْ وَبُشۡرَىٰ لِلۡمُحۡسِنِينَ
En hiervoor was het boek van Moesa als een leiding en een genade. En dit (de Koran) is een bevestiging van de eerdere boeken en is geopenbaard in Arabische taal om degenen die zondigen te waarschuwen en goede berichten te brengen aan de weldoeners.
And before it was the scripture of Moses to lead and as a mercy. And this is a confirming Book in an Arabic tongue to warn those who have wronged and as good tidings to the doers of good
Al-Ahqaf 46:13
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ قَالُواْ رَبُّنَا ٱللَّهُ ثُمَّ ٱسۡتَقَٰمُواْ فَلَا خَوۡفٌ عَلَيۡهِمۡ وَلَا هُمۡ يَحۡزَنُونَ
Waarlijk, degenen die zeggen: “Onze Heer is (slechts) Allah,” en daarna standvastig blijven, voor hen zal er geen angst zijn, noch zullen zij bedroefd zijn.
Indeed, those who have said, "Our Lord is Allah," and then remained on a right course - there will be no fear concerning them, nor will they grieve
Al-Ahqaf 46:14
أُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ أَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلۡجَنَّةِ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا جَزَآءَۢ بِمَا كَانُواْ يَعۡمَلُونَ
Dat zullen de bewoners van het paradijs zijn, daarin (altijd) verblijvend, - een beloning voor wat zij gedaan hebben.
Those are the companions of Paradise, abiding eternally therein as reward for what they used to do
Al-Ahqaf 46:15
وَوَصَّيۡنَا ٱلۡإِنسَٰنَ بِوَٰلِدَيۡهِ إِحۡسَٰنًاۖ حَمَلَتۡهُ أُمُّهُۥ كُرۡهٗا وَوَضَعَتۡهُ كُرۡهٗاۖ وَحَمۡلُهُۥ وَفِصَٰلُهُۥ ثَلَٰثُونَ شَهۡرًاۚ حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا بَلَغَ أَشُدَّهُۥ وَبَلَغَ أَرۡبَعِينَ سَنَةٗ قَالَ رَبِّ أَوۡزِعۡنِيٓ أَنۡ أَشۡكُرَ نِعۡمَتَكَ ٱلَّتِيٓ أَنۡعَمۡتَ عَلَيَّ وَعَلَىٰ وَٰلِدَيَّ وَأَنۡ أَعۡمَلَ صَٰلِحٗا تَرۡضَىٰهُ وَأَصۡلِحۡ لِي فِي ذُرِّيَّتِيٓۖ إِنِّي تُبۡتُ إِلَيۡكَ وَإِنِّي مِنَ ٱلۡمُسۡلِمِينَ
En Wij hebben de mens opgelegd om goed voor zijn ouders te zijn. Zijn moeder draagt hem in pijn en brengt hem voort in pijn en de zwangerschap van hem en het zogen van hem is dertig maanden; als hij de volledige kracht heeft en veertig jaar is geworden, zegt hij: “Mijn Heer! Geef mij de kracht en de mogelijkheid om dankbaar te zijn voor Uw gunsten die U mij en mijn ouders heeft gegeven, Zodat ik goede daden mag verrichten die U genoegen doen en maak mijn nageslacht rechtschapen. Waarlijk, ik keer mij vol berouw tot U, (want) ik behoor tot één van de moslims.”
And We have enjoined upon man, to his parents, good treatment. His mother carried him with hardship and gave birth to him with hardship, and his gestation and weaning [period] is thirty months. [He grows] until, when he reaches maturity and reaches [the age of] forty years, he says, "My Lord, enable me to be grateful for Your favor which You have bestowed upon me and upon my parents and to work righteousness of which You will approve and make righteous for me my offspring. Indeed, I have repented to You, and indeed, I am of the Muslims
Al-Ahqaf 46:16
أُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ نَتَقَبَّلُ عَنۡهُمۡ أَحۡسَنَ مَا عَمِلُواْ وَنَتَجَاوَزُ عَن سَيِّـَٔاتِهِمۡ فِيٓ أَصۡحَٰبِ ٱلۡجَنَّةِۖ وَعۡدَ ٱلصِّدۡقِ ٱلَّذِي كَانُواْ يُوعَدُونَ
Dat zijn degenen van wie Wij het beste van hun daden aannemen en hun slechte daden vergeven (negeren). (Zij zullen) onder de bewoners van het paradijs zijn, een belofte in waarheid, wat hen beloofd is.
Those are the ones from whom We will accept the best of what they did and overlook their misdeeds, [their being] among the companions of Paradise. [That is] the promise of truth which they had been promised
Al-Ahqaf 46:17
وَٱلَّذِي قَالَ لِوَٰلِدَيۡهِ أُفّٖ لَّكُمَآ أَتَعِدَانِنِيٓ أَنۡ أُخۡرَجَ وَقَدۡ خَلَتِ ٱلۡقُرُونُ مِن قَبۡلِي وَهُمَا يَسۡتَغِيثَانِ ٱللَّهَ وَيۡلَكَ ءَامِنۡ إِنَّ وَعۡدَ ٱللَّهِ حَقّٞ فَيَقُولُ مَا هَٰذَآ إِلَّآ أَسَٰطِيرُ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ
Maar degene die tegen zijn ouders zegt: “Foei jullie! Waarschuwen jullie mij dat ik opgewekt zal worden, terwijl de generaties vóór mij overleden zijn (en er nog niet één is opgestaan uit zijn graf).” Dan roepen zij (de ouders) Allah aan voor hulp (en zeggen tegen hun kind): “Wee voor jouw geloof! Waarlijk, de belofte van Allah is waar.” Maar hij zegt: “Dit zijn niet anders dan verhalen van de vroegeren.”
But one who says to his parents, "Uff to you; do you promise me that I will be brought forth [from the earth] when generations before me have already passed on [into oblivion]?" while they call to Allah for help [and to their son], "Woe to you! Believe! Indeed, the promise of Allah is truth." But he says, "This is not but legends of the former people
Al-Ahqaf 46:18
أُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ حَقَّ عَلَيۡهِمُ ٱلۡقَوۡلُ فِيٓ أُمَمٖ قَدۡ خَلَتۡ مِن قَبۡلِهِم مِّنَ ٱلۡجِنِّ وَٱلۡإِنسِۖ إِنَّهُمۡ كَانُواْ خَٰسِرِينَ
Dat zijn degenen waarvoor het woord gerechtvaardigd is onder de voorafgaande generaties van djinn en mensen. Waarlijk! Zij zijn de verliezers.
Those are the ones upon whom the word has come into effect, [who will be] among nations which had passed on before them of jinn and men. Indeed, they [all] were losers
Al-Ahqaf 46:19
وَلِكُلّٖ دَرَجَٰتٞ مِّمَّا عَمِلُواْۖ وَلِيُوَفِّيَهُمۡ أَعۡمَٰلَهُمۡ وَهُمۡ لَا يُظۡلَمُونَ
En voor allen zullen er gradaties zijn in overeenstemming met hun daden. Zodat (Allah) hen volledig voor hun daden zal vergoeden, zonder dat hen daarbij onrecht wordt aangedaan.
And for all there are degrees [of reward and punishment] for what they have done, and [it is] so that He may fully compensate them for their deeds, and they will not be wronged
Al-Ahqaf 46:20
وَيَوۡمَ يُعۡرَضُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ عَلَى ٱلنَّارِ أَذۡهَبۡتُمۡ طَيِّبَٰتِكُمۡ فِي حَيَاتِكُمُ ٱلدُّنۡيَا وَٱسۡتَمۡتَعۡتُم بِهَا فَٱلۡيَوۡمَ تُجۡزَوۡنَ عَذَابَ ٱلۡهُونِ بِمَا كُنتُمۡ تَسۡتَكۡبِرُونَ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ بِغَيۡرِ ٱلۡحَقِّ وَبِمَا كُنتُمۡ تَفۡسُقُونَ
De dag waarop zij die ongelovig waren, aan het vuur zullen blootgesteld worden. (Hun zal gezegd worden): “Jullie verbruikten jullie goede dingen tijdens jullie wereldse leven. Bovendien hebben jullie ervan genoten! Op deze dag zullen jullie vergoed worden met een vernederende bestraffing, want jullie liepen onterecht hoogmoedig over het land en (daarenboven) leefden jullie in zonde en losbandigheid.”
And the Day those who disbelieved are exposed to the Fire [it will be said], "You exhausted your pleasures during your worldly life and enjoyed them, so this Day you will be awarded the punishment of [extreme] humiliation because you were arrogant upon the earth without right and because you were defiantly disobedient
Al-Ahqaf 46:21
۞وَٱذۡكُرۡ أَخَا عَادٍ إِذۡ أَنذَرَ قَوۡمَهُۥ بِٱلۡأَحۡقَافِ وَقَدۡ خَلَتِ ٱلنُّذُرُ مِنۢ بَيۡنِ يَدَيۡهِ وَمِنۡ خَلۡفِهِۦٓ أَلَّا تَعۡبُدُوٓاْ إِلَّا ٱللَّهَ إِنِّيٓ أَخَافُ عَلَيۡكُمۡ عَذَابَ يَوۡمٍ عَظِيمٖ
En gedenk de broeder van ‘Ad, toen hij zijn volk in de zandduinen in het zuidelijke gedeelte van het Arabisch Schiereiland waarschuwde. En zeker, voor hem zijn reeds waarschuwers gekomen en na hem (zeggende): “Aanbid niemand anders dan Allah; waarlijk, ik vrees voor jullie de bestraffing van de geweldige dag.”
And mention, [O Muhammad], the brother of 'Aad, when he warned his people in the [region of] al-Ahqaf - and warners had already passed on before him and after him - [saying], "Do not worship except Allah. Indeed, I fear for you the punishment of a terrible day
Al-Ahqaf 46:22
قَالُوٓاْ أَجِئۡتَنَا لِتَأۡفِكَنَا عَنۡ ءَالِهَتِنَا فَأۡتِنَا بِمَا تَعِدُنَآ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ
Zij zeiden: “Ben jij tot ons gekomen om ons van onze goden te laten afkeren? Breng ons dan datgene waarmee je ons bedreigt, als je één van de waarachtigen bent!”
They said, "Have you come to delude us away from our gods? Then bring us what you promise us, if you should be of the truthful
Al-Ahqaf 46:23
قَالَ إِنَّمَا ٱلۡعِلۡمُ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ وَأُبَلِّغُكُم مَّآ أُرۡسِلۡتُ بِهِۦ وَلَٰكِنِّيٓ أَرَىٰكُمۡ قَوۡمٗا تَجۡهَلُونَ
Hij zei: “De kennis is alleen bij Allah, en ik verkondig jullie datgene waarmee ik gestuurd ben, maar ik zie dat jullie een volk zijn dat aan de onwetendheid is gegeven!”
He said, "Knowledge [of its time] is only with Allah, and I convey to you that with which I was sent; but I see you [to be] a people behaving ignorantly
Al-Ahqaf 46:24
فَلَمَّا رَأَوۡهُ عَارِضٗا مُّسۡتَقۡبِلَ أَوۡدِيَتِهِمۡ قَالُواْ هَٰذَا عَارِضٞ مُّمۡطِرُنَاۚ بَلۡ هُوَ مَا ٱسۡتَعۡجَلۡتُم بِهِۦۖ رِيحٞ فِيهَا عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٞ
Toen, wanneer zij het als een zachte wolk zagen die naar hun dalen kwam, zeiden zei: “Dit is een wolk die regen brengt!” Welnee, maar dit is datgene (de bestraffing) waarvan jullie hebben gevraagd om haar te bespoedigen! – een wind met daarin een pijnlijke bestraffing!
And when they saw it as a cloud approaching their valleys, they said, "This is a cloud bringing us rain!" Rather, it is that for which you were impatient: a wind, within it a painful punishment
Al-Ahqaf 46:25
تُدَمِّرُ كُلَّ شَيۡءِۭ بِأَمۡرِ رَبِّهَا فَأَصۡبَحُواْ لَا يُرَىٰٓ إِلَّا مَسَٰكِنُهُمۡۚ كَذَٰلِكَ نَجۡزِي ٱلۡقَوۡمَ ٱلۡمُجۡرِمِينَ
Alles vernietigend door het bevel van haar Heer! Zo werden zij degenen waarvan niets meer te zien was, behalve hun woningen! Zo vergoeden Wij het volk dat misdadig is.
Destroying everything by command of its Lord. And they became so that nothing was seen [of them] except their dwellings. Thus do We recompense the criminal people
Al-Ahqaf 46:26
وَلَقَدۡ مَكَّنَّـٰهُمۡ فِيمَآ إِن مَّكَّنَّـٰكُمۡ فِيهِ وَجَعَلۡنَا لَهُمۡ سَمۡعٗا وَأَبۡصَٰرٗا وَأَفۡـِٔدَةٗ فَمَآ أَغۡنَىٰ عَنۡهُمۡ سَمۡعُهُمۡ وَلَآ أَبۡصَٰرُهُمۡ وَلَآ أَفۡـِٔدَتُهُم مِّن شَيۡءٍ إِذۡ كَانُواْ يَجۡحَدُونَ بِـَٔايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ وَحَاقَ بِهِم مَّا كَانُواْ بِهِۦ يَسۡتَهۡزِءُونَ
En voorwaar, Wij hebben hen zeker datgene (macht) gegeven wat Wij jullie niet hebben gegeven! En Wij voorzagen hen met gehoor, zicht, en harten. Toch baatten hun gehoor, hun zicht en hun harten hun niet, Doordat zij de tekenen van Allah ontkenden, en zij waren volledig omringd door datgene wat zij plachten te bespotten!
And We had certainly established them in such as We have not established you, and We made for them hearing and vision and hearts. But their hearing and vision and hearts availed them not from anything [of the punishment] when they were [continually] rejecting the signs of Allah; and they were enveloped by what they used to ridicule
Al-Ahqaf 46:27
وَلَقَدۡ أَهۡلَكۡنَا مَا حَوۡلَكُم مِّنَ ٱلۡقُرَىٰ وَصَرَّفۡنَا ٱلۡأٓيَٰتِ لَعَلَّهُمۡ يَرۡجِعُونَ
En voorwaar Wij hebben steden om jullie heen vernietigd en Wij hebben de tekenen op verschillende manieren getoond zodat zij mogen terugkeren.
And We have already destroyed what surrounds you of [those] cities, and We have diversified the signs [or verses] that perhaps they might return [from disbelief]
Al-Ahqaf 46:28
فَلَوۡلَا نَصَرَهُمُ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّخَذُواْ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ قُرۡبَانًا ءَالِهَةَۢۖ بَلۡ ضَلُّواْ عَنۡهُمۡۚ وَذَٰلِكَ إِفۡكُهُمۡ وَمَا كَانُواْ يَفۡتَرُونَ
Waarom hebben degenen die zij naast Allah als goden hebben aangenomen, als een manier (om Allah) te benaderen) hen niet geholpen? Welnee, maar zij zijn volledig van hen verdwenen. En dat was hun leugen, en hun bedenkingen die zij bedacht hadden.
Then why did those they took besides Allah as deities by which to approach [Him] not aid them? But they had strayed from them. And that was their falsehood and what they were inventing
Al-Ahqaf 46:29
وَإِذۡ صَرَفۡنَآ إِلَيۡكَ نَفَرٗا مِّنَ ٱلۡجِنِّ يَسۡتَمِعُونَ ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ فَلَمَّا حَضَرُوهُ قَالُوٓاْ أَنصِتُواْۖ فَلَمَّا قُضِيَ وَلَّوۡاْ إِلَىٰ قَوۡمِهِم مُّنذِرِينَ
En (gedenk) toen Wij een aantal jinns naar jouw (o Mohammed) richting stuurden. Zij luisterden naar de Koran tijdens hun aanwezigheid (bij de fadjr-recitatie van Mohammed), waarop zij (onderling) zeiden: “Luister aandachtig!” Na afloop keerden zij (vervuld met vrees voor de bestraffing) terug als waarschuwers voor hun volk.
And [mention, O Muhammad], when We directed to you a few of the jinn, listening to the Qur'an. And when they attended it, they said, "Listen quietly." And when it was concluded, they went back to their people as warners
Al-Ahqaf 46:30
قَالُواْ يَٰقَوۡمَنَآ إِنَّا سَمِعۡنَا كِتَٰبًا أُنزِلَ مِنۢ بَعۡدِ مُوسَىٰ مُصَدِّقٗا لِّمَا بَيۡنَ يَدَيۡهِ يَهۡدِيٓ إِلَى ٱلۡحَقِّ وَإِلَىٰ طَرِيقٖ مُّسۡتَقِيمٖ
Zij zeiden: “O volk van ons! Waarlijk, wij hebben een boek (de Koran) gehoord dat ná (de Thaura van) Moesa is neergedaald, ter bevestiging van wat daarvoor was. Het leidt naar de waarheid en naar het rechte pad.
They said, "O our people, indeed we have heard a [recited] Book revealed after Moses confirming what was before it which guides to the truth and to a straight path
Al-Ahqaf 46:31
يَٰقَوۡمَنَآ أَجِيبُواْ دَاعِيَ ٱللَّهِ وَءَامِنُواْ بِهِۦ يَغۡفِرۡ لَكُم مِّن ذُنُوبِكُمۡ وَيُجِرۡكُم مِّنۡ عَذَابٍ أَلِيمٖ
O volk van ons! Geef gehoor aan Allahs oproeper (Mohammed) en geloof in hem. Hij (Allah) zal jullie jullie zonden vergeven en jullie van een pijnlijke bestraffing (in de hel) redden."
O our people, respond to the Messenger of Allah and believe in him; Allah will forgive for you your sins and protect you from a painful punishment
Al-Ahqaf 46:32
وَمَن لَّا يُجِبۡ دَاعِيَ ٱللَّهِ فَلَيۡسَ بِمُعۡجِزٖ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَلَيۡسَ لَهُۥ مِن دُونِهِۦٓ أَوۡلِيَآءُۚ أُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ فِي ضَلَٰلٖ مُّبِينٍ
(Maar) zij die geen gehoor geven aan Allah Zijn oproep, zullen niet in staat zijn om op aarde (of elders aan Hem) te ontsnappen, noch zullen er (buiten Hem) awliyaa` (helpers, beschermers) zijn (tegen Allah Zijn bestraffing). Dat zijn degenen die in een duidelijke dwaling verkeren.”
But he who does not respond to the Caller of Allah will not cause failure [to Him] upon earth, and he will not have besides Him any protectors. Those are in manifest error
Al-Ahqaf 46:33
أَوَلَمۡ يَرَوۡاْ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ ٱلَّذِي خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ وَلَمۡ يَعۡيَ بِخَلۡقِهِنَّ بِقَٰدِرٍ عَلَىٰٓ أَن يُحۡـِۧيَ ٱلۡمَوۡتَىٰۚ بَلَىٰٓۚ إِنَّهُۥ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيۡءٖ قَدِيرٞ
Zien zij dan niet dat Allah, Die de hemelen en de aarde geschapen heeft en door hun schepping niet vermoeid geworden is, in staat is om het leven aan de doden te geven? Welzeker, Hij is zeker tot alles in staat.
Do they not see that Allah, who created the heavens and earth and did not fail in their creation, is able to give life to the dead? Yes. Indeed, He is over all things competent
Al-Ahqaf 46:34
وَيَوۡمَ يُعۡرَضُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ عَلَى ٱلنَّارِ أَلَيۡسَ هَٰذَا بِٱلۡحَقِّۖ قَالُواْ بَلَىٰ وَرَبِّنَاۚ قَالَ فَذُوقُواْ ٱلۡعَذَابَ بِمَا كُنتُمۡ تَكۡفُرُونَ
En op de dag dat degenen die ongelovig waren aan het vuur worden blootgesteld (zal er tegen hen gezegd worden): “Is dit niet de waarheid?” Zij zullen zeggen: “Jazeker, bij Onze Heer!” Hij zal zeggen: “Proef dan de bestraffing van het vuur omdat jullie ongelovig waren!”
And the Day those who disbelieved are exposed to the Fire [it will be said], "Is this not the truth?" They will say, "Yes, by our Lord." He will say, "Then taste the punishment because you used to disbelieve
Al-Ahqaf 46:35
فَٱصۡبِرۡ كَمَا صَبَرَ أُوْلُواْ ٱلۡعَزۡمِ مِنَ ٱلرُّسُلِ وَلَا تَسۡتَعۡجِل لَّهُمۡۚ كَأَنَّهُمۡ يَوۡمَ يَرَوۡنَ مَا يُوعَدُونَ لَمۡ يَلۡبَثُوٓاْ إِلَّا سَاعَةٗ مِّن نَّهَارِۭۚ بَلَٰغٞۚ فَهَلۡ يُهۡلَكُ إِلَّا ٱلۡقَوۡمُ ٱلۡفَٰسِقُونَ
Wees daarom geduldig zoals de bezitters (boodschappers)van de sterke wil. En vraag geen bespoediging voor hen. Op de dag dat zij (de ernst van de bestraffing) zien die hen was beloofd, (bekruipt hen het gevoel) dat ze niet langer dan een uur van de dag (op aarde) hebben doorgebracht. (Deze Koran is voldoende als) duidelijke boodschap. Maar niemand anders zal vernietigd worden behalve het volk dat verdorven is.
So be patient, [O Muhammad], as were those of determination among the messengers and do not be impatient for them. It will be - on the Day they see that which they are promised - as though they had not remained [in the world] except an hour of a day. [This is] notification. And will [any] be destroyed except the defiantly disobedient people
