Koran 46:27 — soera Al-Ahqaf, vers 27

وَلَقَدۡ أَهۡلَكۡنَا مَا حَوۡلَكُم مِّنَ ٱلۡقُرَىٰ وَصَرَّفۡنَا ٱلۡأٓيَٰتِ لَعَلَّهُمۡ يَرۡجِعُونَ

En voorwaar Wij hebben steden om jullie heen vernietigd en Wij hebben de tekenen op verschillende manieren getoond zodat zij mogen terugkeren.

And We have already destroyed what surrounds you of [those] cities, and We have diversified the signs [or verses] that perhaps they might return [from disbelief]

• Hilali & Khan: And indeed We have destroyed towns (populations) round about you, and We have (repeatedly) shown (them) the Ayât (proofs, evidence, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) in various ways that they might return (to the truth and believe in the Oneness of Allâh - Islâmic Monotheism).
• Rowwad Translation Center (en): We have certainly destroyed some towns around you and had given them numerous signs, so that they might return [from disbelief].
