Koran 39:65 — soera Az-Zumar, vers 65

وَلَقَدۡ أُوحِيَ إِلَيۡكَ وَإِلَى ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبۡلِكَ لَئِنۡ أَشۡرَكۡتَ لَيَحۡبَطَنَّ عَمَلُكَ وَلَتَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلۡخَٰسِرِينَ

En voorwaar, het is aan jou (O Mohammed) geopenbaard zoals het aan degenen vóór jou geopenbaard is: “Als je in de aanbidding van Allah andere deelgenoten toekent dan zullen zeker (al) je daden verloren gaan en dan zul je zeker onder de verliezers verkeren.”

And it was already revealed to you and to those before you that if you should associate [anything] with Allah, your work would surely become worthless, and you would surely be among the losers

• Hilali & Khan: And indeed it has been revealed to you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم), as it was to those (Allâh’s Messengers) before you: "If you join others in worship with Allâh, (then) surely (all) your deeds will be in vain, and you will certainly be among the losers."
• Rowwad Translation Center (en): It has already been revealed to you and to those who came before you that if you associate others with Allah, your deeds will surely become worthless, and you will certainly be among the losers.
