Koran 30:7 — soera Ar-Rum, vers 7

يَعۡلَمُونَ ظَٰهِرٗا مِّنَ ٱلۡحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنۡيَا وَهُمۡ عَنِ ٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ هُمۡ غَٰفِلُونَ

Zij kennen slechts de uiterlijke schijn van het leven van de wereld en zij zijn achteloos voor het hiernamaals.

They know what is apparent of the worldly life, but they, of the Hereafter, are unaware

• Hilali & Khan: They know only the outside appearance of the life of the world (i.e. the matters of their livelihood, like irrigating or sowing or reaping, etc.), and they are heedless of the Hereafter.
