Koran 22:48 — soera Al-Hajj, vers 48

وَكَأَيِّن مِّن قَرۡيَةٍ أَمۡلَيۡتُ لَهَا وَهِيَ ظَالِمَةٞ ثُمَّ أَخَذۡتُهَا وَإِلَيَّ ٱلۡمَصِيرُ

En vele steden heb Ik uitstel gegeven terwijl het aan de zonden was overgedaan. toen greep Ik hen (met bestraffing). En tot Mij is de terugkeer.

And for how many a city did I prolong enjoyment while it was committing wrong. Then I seized it, and to Me is the [final] destination
