Coran 7:116 — sourate Al-A'raf, verset 116

قَالَ أَلۡقُواْۖ فَلَمَّآ أَلۡقَوۡاْ سَحَرُوٓاْ أَعۡيُنَ ٱلنَّاسِ وَٱسۡتَرۡهَبُوهُمۡ وَجَآءُو بِسِحۡرٍ عَظِيمٖ

Il répondit : « Soyez les premiers à jeter. » Usant d’artifices, ils fascinèrent la foule qui fut terrorisée par une si puissante magie.

He said, "Throw," and when they threw, they bewitched the eyes of the people and struck terror into them, and they presented a great [feat of] magic

• Noor International Center (fr): Il dit : « Jetez (les vôtres d’abord). » Ils jetèrent (leurs bâtons et leurs cordes) et éblouirent les gens qui furent saisis de terreur par leur grande magie.
• Hilali & Khan: He [Mûsâ (Moses)] said: "Throw you (first)." So when they threw, they bewitched the eyes of the people, and struck terror into them, and they displayed a great magic.
• Rowwad Translation Center (en): He said, “You throw first.” So when they threw, they enchanted the eyes of the people and struck terror into them, and produced a powerful magic.

Tafsir (explication) de ce verset 7:116

Moïse, qui savait qu’il bénéficiait du secours de son Seigneur et qui était impassible face à leur arrogance, leur répondit: Jetez plutôt vos cordes et vos bâtons. Ils les jetèrent alors et ensorcelèrent les yeux des gens, créant une illusion terrifiante. Ils réussirent ainsi à présenter un puissant tour de magie aux spectateurs.
