Koran 9:77 — Sure At-Tawbah, Vers 77

فَأَعۡقَبَهُمۡ نِفَاقٗا فِي قُلُوبِهِمۡ إِلَىٰ يَوۡمِ يَلۡقَوۡنَهُۥ بِمَآ أَخۡلَفُواْ ٱللَّهَ مَا وَعَدُوهُ وَبِمَا كَانُواْ يَكۡذِبُونَ

So setzte Er als Folge davon in ihre Herzen Heuchelei bis zum Tag, an dem sie Ihm begegnen werden, dafür, daß sie gegenüber Allah brachen, was sie Ihm versprochen hatten, und daß sie zu lügen pflegten.

So He penalized them with hypocrisy in their hearts until the Day they will meet Him - because they failed Allah in what they promised Him and because they [habitually] used to lie

• Rowwad Translation Center (de): Da ließ Er in Folge dessen Heuchelei in ihre Herzen setzen bis zum Tag, an dem sie Ihm begegnen werden, (und dies) dafür, dass sie gegenüber Allah brachen, was sie Ihm versprochen hatten, und dass sie zu lügen pflegten.
• Hilali & Khan: So He punished them by putting hypocrisy into their hearts till the Day whereon they shall meet Him, because they broke that (covenant with Allâh) which they had promised to Him and because they used to tell lies.
• Rowwad Translation Center (en): So as a consequence, He caused hypocrisy to take root in their hearts until the Day they meet Him, because of breaking their promise to Allah, and because of their persistent lying.
