Al-Waqi'ah 56:54
And drinking on top of it from scalding water
Tafsir 56:54
Then you will drink extremely hot water on top of that.
Al-Waqi'ah 56:55
And will drink as the drinking of thirsty camels
Tafsir 56:55
You will drink so much of it, just like a camel suffering from a burning thirst drinks.
Al-Waqi'ah 56:56
That is their accommodation on the Day of Recompense
Tafsir 56:56
The aforementioned bitter fruit and extremely hot water is your hospitality you will be received with on the Day of Requital.
Al-Waqi'ah 56:57
We have created you, so why do you not believe
Tafsir 56:57
O rejectors! I created you from non-existence, so why do you not believe I will resurrect you after you have died?
Al-Waqi'ah 56:58
Have you seen that which you emit
Tafsir 56:58
O people! Do you not see the semen you ejaculate into the wombs of your wives?
Al-Waqi'ah 56:59
Is it you who creates it, or are We the Creator
Tafsir 56:59
Is it you that creates that semen, or am I the one who creates it?
Al-Waqi'ah 56:60
We have decreed death among you, and We are not to be outdone
Tafsir 56:60
I determine death between you; each one of you has a fixed amount of time which he neither goes beyond nor falls short of. I am not incapable...
Al-Waqi'ah 56:61
In that We will change your likenesses and produce you in that [form] which you do not know
Tafsir 56:61
61....of changing the form and appearance that you currently hold, and recreating you into a form and appearance that you do not know of.
Al-Waqi'ah 56:62
And you have already known the first creation, so will you not remember
Tafsir 56:62
Verily, you know how I created you initially, so do you not take heed and realise that the being who created you in the first place, is capable of resurrecting you after you die?
Al-Waqi'ah 56:63
And have you seen that [seed] which you sow
Tafsir 56:63
Do you see the seeds you plant in the earth?
Al-Waqi'ah 56:64
Is it you who makes it grow, or are We the grower
Tafsir 56:64
Are you the ones who make that seed grow, or am I the one that makes it grow?
Al-Waqi'ah 56:65
If We willed, We could make it [dry] debris, and you would remain in wonder
Tafsir 56:65
If I wish to ruin that crop, I can do so after bringing it close to ripening and harvest. You would then be left shocked at what affected it.
Al-Waqi'ah 56:66
[Saying], "Indeed, we are [now] in debt
Tafsir 56:66
You would say, “Indeed, we lost everything we spent, and we have been punished.”
Al-Waqi'ah 56:67
Rather, we have been deprived
Tafsir 56:67
“Rather, we have been deprived of sustenance.”
Al-Waqi'ah 56:68
And have you seen the water that you drink
Tafsir 56:68
Do you see the water you drink when you are thirsty?
Al-Waqi'ah 56:69
Is it you who brought it down from the clouds, or is it We who bring it down
Tafsir 56:69
Are you the ones who cause it to fall from the clouds in the sky, or am I the one who sends it down?
Al-Waqi'ah 56:70
If We willed, We could make it bitter, so why are you not grateful
Tafsir 56:70
If I wanted to make that water extremely bitter, such that it would be of no use for drinking nor for irrigation, I would have done so. Will you then not be grateful to Me for sending it down as palatable and a mercy for you?
Al-Waqi'ah 56:71
And have you seen the fire that you ignite
Tafsir 56:71
Do you see the fire that you ignite for your interests?
Al-Waqi'ah 56:72
Is it you who produced its tree, or are We the producer
Tafsir 56:72
Are you the ones who make the trees you ignite it with, grow, or am I the one who causes it to grow, being kind to you?
Al-Waqi'ah 56:73
We have made it a reminder and provision for the travelers
Tafsir 56:73
I am the one who made this fire for you as a reminder to you of the fire of the Afterlife, and I made it a means of benefit for the travellers among you.
Al-Waqi'ah 56:74
So exalt the name of your Lord, the Most Great
Tafsir 56:74
O Messenger! So glorify your great Lord, of everything that in unbefitting of Him.
Al-Waqi'ah 56:75
Then I swear by the setting of the stars
Tafsir 56:75
Allah takes an oath on the positions of the stars and their orbits.
Al-Waqi'ah 56:76
And indeed, it is an oath - if you could know - [most] great
Tafsir 56:76
And indeed, taking an oath of these orbits is a great thing - if only you were to understand its greatness-, because there are uncountable signs and lessons in it.
Al-Waqi'ah 56:77
Indeed, it is a noble Qur'an
Tafsir 56:77
O people! Indeed, the Qur’ān that is recited to you is a noble Qur’ān, because of the great benefits that it contains.
Al-Waqi'ah 56:78
In a Register well-protected
Tafsir 56:78
It is in a record preserved from the eyes of people, i.e. the Preserved Tablet.
Al-Waqi'ah 56:79
None touch it except the purified
Tafsir 56:79
Only the angels, pure of sin and defects can touch it.
Al-Waqi'ah 56:80
[It is] a revelation from the Lord of the worlds
Tafsir 56:80
It is a revelation from the Lord of the creations, on His Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
Al-Waqi'ah 56:81
Then is it to this statement that you are indifferent
Tafsir 56:81
O idolaters! Do you then reject this speech, and not believe in it?
Al-Waqi'ah 56:82
And make [the thanks for] your provision that you deny [the Provider]
Tafsir 56:82
And do you show your gratitude to Allah for the blessings He has provided you with, by rejecting Him and attributing the rain to the setting of stars, by saying, “It rained upon us due to the setting of so and so star”.
Al-Waqi'ah 56:83
Then why, when the soul at death reaches the throat
Tafsir 56:83
Why not, when the soul reaches the throat...
Al-Waqi'ah 56:84
And you are at that time looking on
Tafsir 56:84
84....and at that time, you see the dying person in front of you...
Al-Waqi'ah 56:85
And Our angels are nearer to him than you, but you do not see
Tafsir 56:85
85....whilst My angels are closer to the dying person than you are, but you do not see them...
Al-Waqi'ah 56:86
Then why do you not, if you are not to be recompensed
Tafsir 56:86
Why then, if you are not going to be resurrected - as you claim - for requital...
Al-Waqi'ah 56:87
Bring it back, if you should be truthful
Tafsir 56:87
87....return this soul that is leaving your dead, if you are truthful? You cannot do it.
Al-Waqi'ah 56:88
And if the deceased was of those brought near to Allah
Tafsir 56:88
As for if the dying person is one of those who hasten towards good...
Al-Waqi'ah 56:89
Then [for him is] rest and bounty and a garden of pleasure
Tafsir 56:89
89....he will be in such comfort after which there will be no tiring, good sustenance and mercy. He will have a Paradise in which he will live in luxury, enjoying whatever his soul desires.
Al-Waqi'ah 56:90
And if he was of the companions of the right
Tafsir 56:90
And if the dying person is from the People of the Right, do not worry about their condition, because they will be in peace and security.
Al-Waqi'ah 56:91
Then [the angels will say], "Peace for you; [you are] from the companions of the right
