Koran 8:57 — soera Al-Anfal, vers 57

فَإِمَّا تَثۡقَفَنَّهُمۡ فِي ٱلۡحَرۡبِ فَشَرِّدۡ بِهِم مَّنۡ خَلۡفَهُمۡ لَعَلَّهُمۡ يَذَّكَّرُونَ

Als jullie hen dus in de oorlog ontmoet, straf hen dan streng om degenen die achter hen staan uiteen te drijven, zodat zij een les mogen leren.

So if you, [O Muhammad], gain dominance over them in war, disperse by [means of] them those behind them that perhaps they will be reminded
