Koran 7:100 — soera Al-A'raf, vers 100

أَوَلَمۡ يَهۡدِ لِلَّذِينَ يَرِثُونَ ٱلۡأَرۡضَ مِنۢ بَعۡدِ أَهۡلِهَآ أَن لَّوۡ نَشَآءُ أَصَبۡنَٰهُم بِذُنُوبِهِمۡۚ وَنَطۡبَعُ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِهِمۡ فَهُمۡ لَا يَسۡمَعُونَ

Is het niet duidelijk voor degenen die de aarde beërven in opvolging van zijn bezitters als Wij het gewild hadden, zouden Wij hen voor hun zonden bestraft hebben. En Wij verzegelden hun harten, zij zijn het die niet hoorden.

Has it not become clear to those who inherited the earth after its [previous] people that if We willed, We could afflict them for their sins? But We seal over their hearts so they do not hear

• Hilali & Khan: Is it not clear to those who inherit the earth in succession from its (previous) possessors, that had We willed, We would have punished them for their sins. And We seal up their hearts so that they hear not?
