Koran 6:81 — soera Al-An'am, vers 81

وَكَيۡفَ أَخَافُ مَآ أَشۡرَكۡتُمۡ وَلَا تَخَافُونَ أَنَّكُمۡ أَشۡرَكۡتُم بِٱللَّهِ مَا لَمۡ يُنَزِّلۡ بِهِۦ عَلَيۡكُمۡ سُلۡطَٰنٗاۚ فَأَيُّ ٱلۡفَرِيقَيۡنِ أَحَقُّ بِٱلۡأَمۡنِۖ إِن كُنتُمۡ تَعۡلَمُونَ

En hoe moet ik degenen die jullie aan Allah in aanbidding toekennen, vrezen, terwijl jullie niet vrezen, terwijl jullie in aanbidding tot Allah zaken hebt toegekend die Hij niet naar beneden heeft gestuurd en waar jullie geen zeggenschap over hebben. (Dus) wie van de twee partijen heeft meer recht op zekerheid, als jullie maar wisten…”

And how should I fear what you associate while you do not fear that you have associated with Allah that for which He has not sent down to you any authority? So which of the two parties has more right to security, if you should know

• Hilali & Khan: "And how should I fear those whom you associate in worship with Allâh (though they can neither benefit nor harm), while you fear not that you have joined in worship with Allâh things for which He has not sent down to you any authority. (So) which of the two parties has more right to be in security? If you but know."
• Rowwad Translation Center (en): Why should I fear what you associate with Him, when you do not fear that you associate with Allah that for which He has not sent down any authority? So which of the two parties has more right to feel secure, if you really know?
