Koran 6:44 — soera Al-An'am, vers 44

فَلَمَّا نَسُواْ مَا ذُكِّرُواْ بِهِۦ فَتَحۡنَا عَلَيۡهِمۡ أَبۡوَٰبَ كُلِّ شَيۡءٍ حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا فَرِحُواْ بِمَآ أُوتُوٓاْ أَخَذۡنَٰهُم بَغۡتَةٗ فَإِذَا هُم مُّبۡلِسُونَ

Toen zij dus (de waarschuwing) vergaten, waaraan zij herinnerd werden, openden Wij de deuren voor alle (plezierige) zaken voor hen, totdat zij midden in het vermaak wat hun gegeven werd, opeens, wee, hen de bestraffing gaven. Zij werden in de vernietiging getrokken met diepe spijt en berouw.

So when they forgot that by which they had been reminded, We opened to them the doors of every [good] thing until, when they rejoiced in that which they were given, We seized them suddenly, and they were [then] in despair

• Hilali & Khan: So, when they forgot (the warning) with which they had been reminded, We opened for them the gates of every (pleasant) thing, until in the midst of their enjoyment in that which they were given, all of a sudden, We took them (in punishment), and lo! They were plunged into destruction with deep regrets and sorrows.
• Rowwad Translation Center (en): When they forgot the reminder that they were given, We opened for them the doors of everything – until when they rejoiced in pride for what they were given, We seized them by surprise, so they fell into utter despair.
