Koran 5:90 — soera Al-Ma'idah, vers 90

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓاْ إِنَّمَا ٱلۡخَمۡرُ وَٱلۡمَيۡسِرُ وَٱلۡأَنصَابُ وَٱلۡأَزۡلَٰمُ رِجۡسٞ مِّنۡ عَمَلِ ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنِ فَٱجۡتَنِبُوهُ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تُفۡلِحُونَ

O jullie die geloven! Voorwaar, (alle) bedwelmende middelen (alcohol), het gokken, de afgodsbeelden en de lotspijlen zijn de walgelijke makelij van Shaytaan (maar het is slechts verfraaiing door verdraaiing). Vermijd daarom (elke vorm van) deze dingen, zodat jullie zullen slagen.

O you who have believed, indeed, intoxicants, gambling, [sacrificing on] stone alters [to other than Allah], and divining arrows are but defilement from the work of Satan, so avoid it that you may be successful

• Hilali & Khan: O you who believe! Intoxicants (all kinds of alcoholic drinks), and gambling, and Al-Ansâb, and Al-Azlâm (arrows for seeking luck or decision) are an abomination of Shaitan’s (Satan) handiwork. So avoid (strictly all) that (abomination) in order that you may be successful.
• Rowwad Translation Center (en): O you who believe, intoxicants, gambling, [sacrificing on] stone altars and divining arrows are of Satan’s evil work; therefore shun such [evil], so that you may be successful.
