Koran 35:36 — soera Fatir, vers 36

وَٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ لَهُمۡ نَارُ جَهَنَّمَ لَا يُقۡضَىٰ عَلَيۡهِمۡ فَيَمُوتُواْ وَلَا يُخَفَّفُ عَنۡهُم مِّنۡ عَذَابِهَاۚ كَذَٰلِكَ نَجۡزِي كُلَّ كَفُورٖ

Maar degenen die ongelovig zijn, voor hen zal de hel hun verblijfplaats zijn, noch heeft het een volledig dodelijk effect op hen zodat zij zullen sterven (en kunnen rusten van de pijn) noch zal de bestraffing voor hen verlicht worden. Zo vergelden Wij elke ondankbare persoon!

And for those who disbelieve will be the fire of Hell. [Death] is not decreed for them so they may die, nor will its torment be lightened for them. Thus do we recompense every ungrateful one

• Hilali & Khan: But those who disbelieve (in the Oneness of Allâh - Islâmic Monotheism), for them will be the Fire of Hell. Neither will it have a complete killing effect on them so that they die, nor shall its torment be lightened for them. Thus do We requite every disbeliever!
• Rowwad Translation Center (en): As for those who disbelieve, there will be the Fire of Hell; neither will they be sentenced to death, so that they may die, nor will its punishment be lightened for them. This is how We recompense every disbeliever.
