Koran 33:24 — soera Al-Ahzab, vers 24

لِّيَجۡزِيَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ بِصِدۡقِهِمۡ وَيُعَذِّبَ ٱلۡمُنَٰفِقِينَ إِن شَآءَ أَوۡ يَتُوبَ عَلَيۡهِمۡۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ غَفُورٗا رَّحِيمٗا

Zodat Allah de waarachtigen zal belonen (en bijstaan) voor hun waarachtigheid. En als Hij (dat echt) wil dan bestraft Hij de hypocrieten (met de hel), ofwel aanvaardt Hij hun berouw. (Want) voorwaar, Allah is meest Vergevingsgezind, meest Barmhartig.

That Allah may reward the truthful for their truth and punish the hypocrites if He wills or accept their repentance. Indeed, Allah is ever Forgiving and Merciful

• Hilali & Khan: That Allâh may reward the men of truth for their truth (i.e. for their patience at the accomplishment of that which they covenanted with Allâh), and punish the hypocrites, if He wills, or accept their repentance by turning to them (in Mercy). • Rowwad Translation Center (en): [It all happened] so that Allah may reward the truthful for their truthfulness, and punish the hypocrites if He wills, or accept their repentance. Indeed, Allah is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
