Koran 30:21 — soera Ar-Rum, vers 21

وَمِنۡ ءَايَٰتِهِۦٓ أَنۡ خَلَقَ لَكُم مِّنۡ أَنفُسِكُمۡ أَزۡوَٰجٗا لِّتَسۡكُنُوٓاْ إِلَيۡهَا وَجَعَلَ بَيۡنَكُم مَّوَدَّةٗ وَرَحۡمَةًۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَٰتٖ لِّقَوۡمٖ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ

En het behoort tot (Allah Zijn) tekenen dat Hij (soorgelijke) partners uit julliezelf voortbrengt, zodat jullie bij hen tot rust kunnen komen. En Hij heeft tussen jullie (echtparen) liefde en genade geplaatst. Waarlijk, in dat zijn zeker tekenen voor mensen die nadenken.

And of His signs is that He created for you from yourselves mates that you may find tranquillity in them; and He placed between you affection and mercy. Indeed in that are signs for a people who give thought

• Hilali & Khan: And among His Signs is this, that He created for you wives from among yourselves, that you may find repose in them, and He has put between you affection and mercy. Verily, in that are indeed signs for a people who reflect.
• Rowwad Translation Center (en): And among His signs is that He created for you spouses from among yourselves that you may find comfort in them, and He placed between you love and mercy. Indeed, there are signs in this for people who reflect.
