Koran 25:40 — soera Al-Furqan, vers 40

وَلَقَدۡ أَتَوۡاْ عَلَى ٱلۡقَرۡيَةِ ٱلَّتِيٓ أُمۡطِرَتۡ مَطَرَ ٱلسَّوۡءِۚ أَفَلَمۡ يَكُونُواْ يَرَوۡنَهَاۚ بَلۡ كَانُواْ لَا يَرۡجُونَ نُشُورٗا

En voorwaar, zij (de ongelovigen) zijn bij de stad gekomen waarop de kwade regen was gevallen. Hebben zij het dan niet gezien? Nee! Maar zij wensen niet opgewekt te worden.

And they have already come upon the town which was showered with a rain of evil. So have they not seen it? But they are not expecting resurrection

• Hilali & Khan: And indeed they have passed by the town [of Prophet Lût (Lot)] on which was rained the evil rain. Did they (disbelievers) not then see it (with their own eyes)? Nay! But they used not to expect any resurrection.
• Rowwad Translation Center (en): They have surely passed by the town that was destroyed by a terrible rain [of stones]. Have they not seen it? But they do not expect to be resurrected.
