Koran 24:53 — soera An-Nur, vers 53

۞وَأَقۡسَمُواْ بِٱللَّهِ جَهۡدَ أَيۡمَٰنِهِمۡ لَئِنۡ أَمَرۡتَهُمۡ لَيَخۡرُجُنَّۖ قُل لَّا تُقۡسِمُواْۖ طَاعَةٞ مَّعۡرُوفَةٌۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ خَبِيرُۢ بِمَا تَعۡمَلُونَ

Zij zweren bij Allah hun grootste eden, dat als jij het hen niet bevolen had, zij (hun huizen) verlaten (om voor Allah te strijden). Zeg: “Zweer niet: van (deze) gehoorzaamheid (van jullie) is wel bekend (omdat het niet gemeend is). Waarlijk, Allah weet goed wat jullie doen.”

And they swear by Allah their strongest oaths that if you ordered them, they would go forth [in Allah 's cause]. Say, "Do not swear. [Such] obedience is known. Indeed, Allah is Acquainted with that which you do

• Hilali & Khan: They swear by Allâh their strongest oaths, that if only you would order them, they would leave (their homes for fighting in Allâh’s Cause). Say: "Swear you not; (this) obedience (of yours) is known (to be false). Verily, Allâh knows well what you do."
• Rowwad Translation Center (en): The hypocrites swear by Allah their most solemn oaths that if you order them, they will surely march forth. Say, “Do not swear, [your] obedience is well known. Allah is All-Aware of what you do.”
