Koran 2:66 — soera Al-Baqarah, vers 66

فَجَعَلۡنَٰهَا نَكَٰلٗا لِّمَا بَيۡنَ يَدَيۡهَا وَمَا خَلۡفَهَا وَمَوۡعِظَةٗ لِّلۡمُتَّقِينَ

Dus hebben we deze bestraffing als een voorbeeld voor henzelf gemaakt en voor de latere generatie een les voor degenen die godvrezend zijn.

And We made it a deterrent punishment for those who were present and those who succeeded [them] and a lesson for those who fear Allah
