Coran 9:52 — sourate At-Tawbah, verset 52

قُلۡ هَلۡ تَرَبَّصُونَ بِنَآ إِلَّآ إِحۡدَى ٱلۡحُسۡنَيَيۡنِۖ وَنَحۡنُ نَتَرَبَّصُ بِكُمۡ أَن يُصِيبَكُمُ ٱللَّهُ بِعَذَابٖ مِّنۡ عِندِهِۦٓ أَوۡ بِأَيۡدِينَاۖ فَتَرَبَّصُوٓاْ إِنَّا مَعَكُم مُّتَرَبِّصُونَ

Dis : « Que pouvez-vous d’ailleurs espérer qu’il nous arrive sinon l’un des deux heureux événements, la victoire ou le martyre ? Quant à nous, nous espérons qu’Allah vous châtiera Lui-même ou par notre intermédiaire. Attendez donc, nous attendons avec vous ! »

Say, "Do you await for us except one of the two best things while we await for you that Allah will afflict you with punishment from Himself or at our hands? So wait; indeed we, along with you, are waiting

• Hilali & Khan: Say: "Do you wait for us (anything) except one of the two best things (martyrdom or victory); while we await for you either that Allâh will afflict you with a punishment from Himself or at our hands. So wait, we too are waiting with you."
• Rowwad Translation Center (en): Say, “Are you awaiting to befall us except one of the two best outcomes [i.e., victory or martyrdom]? But we are awaiting that Allah will afflict you with punishment from Himself or at our hands. So wait; we too are waiting with you.”

Tafsir (explication) de ce verset 9:52

Ô Messager, dis-leur: Attendez-vous que nous soyons victorieux ou que nous tombions en martyrs? Quant à nous, nous attendons qu’Allah vous inflige un châtiment qui vous anéantira ou quand Il nous autorisera à vous combattre, qu’Il se serve de nous pour vous châtier en vous tuant et en vous emprisonnant. Attendez donc afin de savoir quel sera notre devenir, nous attendons de notre côté, quel sera le vôtre.
