Coran 9:4 — sourate At-Tawbah, verset 4

إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ عَٰهَدتُّم مِّنَ ٱلۡمُشۡرِكِينَ ثُمَّ لَمۡ يَنقُصُوكُمۡ شَيۡـٔٗا وَلَمۡ يُظَٰهِرُواْ عَلَيۡكُمۡ أَحَدٗا فَأَتِمُّوٓاْ إِلَيۡهِمۡ عَهۡدَهُمۡ إِلَىٰ مُدَّتِهِمۡۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُحِبُّ ٱلۡمُتَّقِينَ

S’agissant des idolâtres qui vous sont liés par un pacte dont ils ont honoré toutes les clauses et qui n’ont pas soutenu vos ennemis contre vous, le traité conclu avec eux devra être respecté jusqu’au terme convenu. Allah aime ceux qui se gardent de toute trahison.

Excepted are those with whom you made a treaty among the polytheists and then they have not been deficient toward you in anything or supported anyone against you; so complete for them their treaty until their term [has ended]. Indeed, Allah loves the righteous [who fear Him]

Autres traductions 9:4

• Noor International Center (fr): Exception sera faite de ceux qui, d’entre les associâtres, vous sont liés par un pacte auquel ils n’ont en rien failli, et qui n’ont prêté soutien à personne contre vous. Respectez donc leur pacte jusqu’à son terme, car Allah aime ceux qui Le craignent.
• Hilali & Khan: Except those of the Mushrikûn (see V.2:105) with whom you have a treaty, and who have not subsequently failed you in aught, nor have supported anyone against you. So fulfil their treaty to them for the end of their term. Surely Allâh loves Al-Mattaqûn (the pious - See V.2:2).
• Rowwad Translation Center (en): Except those polytheists with whom you have a treaty and who have not broken it in the least, nor have backed up anyone against you – so fulfill your treaty with them until the end of their term. Indeed, Allah loves those who fear Him.

Tafsir (explication) de ce verset 9:4

Ce désaveu ne concerne pas les polythéistes avec qui vous avez conclu un pacte et qui l’observent loyalement et scrupuleusement. Honorez le pacte qui vous lie à eux jusqu’à son terme car Allah aime ceux qui Le craignent, se conforment à Ses commandements, comme d’être loyal, et délaissent Ses interdits, comme de ne pas trahir.
