Coran 9:34 — sourate At-Tawbah, verset 34

۞يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓاْ إِنَّ كَثِيرٗا مِّنَ ٱلۡأَحۡبَارِ وَٱلرُّهۡبَانِ لَيَأۡكُلُونَ أَمۡوَٰلَ ٱلنَّاسِ بِٱلۡبَٰطِلِ وَيَصُدُّونَ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِۗ وَٱلَّذِينَ يَكۡنِزُونَ ٱلذَّهَبَ وَٱلۡفِضَّةَ وَلَا يُنفِقُونَهَا فِي سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ فَبَشِّرۡهُم بِعَذَابٍ أَلِيمٖ

Vous qui croyez ! Sachez que nombre de docteurs de la loi et de moines s’approprient injustement les biens de leurs semblables et s’emploient à les détourner de la voie d’Allah. A ceux qui amassent l’or et l’argent, sans en consacrer une partie à la cause d’Allah, tu peux dès à présent annoncer un douloureux châtiment.

O you who have believed, indeed many of the scholars and the monks devour the wealth of people unjustly and avert [them] from the way of Allah. And those who hoard gold and silver and spend it not in the way of Allah - give them tidings of a painful punishment

• Noor International Center (fr): Ô vous qui avez cru ! Beaucoup de rabbins et de moines consomment frauduleusement les biens des gens et se mettent en travers du chemin d’Allah. À ceux qui thésaurisent or et argent et ne les dépensent pas pour la cause d’Allah, annonce un supplice très douloureux.
• Hilali & Khan: O you who believe! Verily, there are many of the (Jewish) rabbis and the (Christian) monks who devour the wealth of mankind in falsehood, and hinder (them) from the Way of Allâh (i.e. Allâh’s religion of Islâmic Monotheism). And those who hoard up gold and silver [Al-Kanz: the money, the Zakât of which has not been paid] and spend them not in the Way of Allâh, announce unto them a painful torment.
• Rowwad Translation Center (en): O you who believe, there are many rabbis and monks who consume people’s wealth unlawfully and prevent people from Allah’s way. Those who hoard gold and silver and do not spend it in the way of Allah, give them tidings of a painful punishment.

Tafsir (explication) de ce verset 9:34

Ô vous qui croyez et mettez en pratique ce qui vous a été prescrit par Allah, de nombreux savants juifs et dévots chrétiens s’emparent illégalement des biens des gens. La corruption et d’autres subterfuges leur permettent de s’en accaparer illicitement. De plus, ils interdisent aux gens d’embrasser la religion d’Allah. Ceux qui amassent de l’or et de l’argent et ne versent pas l’aumône légale qui est due sur ces richesses, annonce-leur la mauvaise nouvelle, celle d’un châtiment douloureux qu’ils subiront le Jour de la Résurrection.
