Coran 5:40 — sourate Al-Ma'idah, verset 40

أَلَمۡ تَعۡلَمۡ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَهُۥ مُلۡكُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ يُعَذِّبُ مَن يَشَآءُ وَيَغۡفِرُ لِمَن يَشَآءُۗ وَٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيۡءٖ قَدِيرٞ

Ne sais-tu pas qu’Allah règne en Maître absolu sur les cieux et la terre, qu’Il châtie qui Il veut et pardonne à qui Il veut, et qu’Il a pouvoir sur toute chose ?

Do you not know that to Allah belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth? He punishes whom He wills and forgives whom He wills, and Allah is over all things competent

• Noor International Center (fr): Ne sais-tu pas qu’Allah a la royauté des cieux et de la terre ? Il soumet au supplice qui Il veut et Il pardonne à qui Il veut. Et Allah est de Toute chose Infiniment Capable.
• Hilali & Khan: Know you not that to Allâh (Alone) belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth! He punishes whom He wills and He forgives whom He wills. And Allâh is Able to do all things.
• Rowwad Translation Center (en): Do you not know that the dominion of the heavens and earth belongs to Allah? He punishes whom He wills and forgives whom He wills, and Allah is Most Capable of all things.

Tafsir (explication) de ce verset 5:40

Ô Messager, tu sais qu’Allah possède les Cieux et la Terre dont Il dispose comme Il veut, qu’Il châtie qui Il veut par Sa justice et pardonne à qui Il veut par Sa grâce. Allah a le pouvoir sur toute chose et rien ne Lui est possible.
