Coran 5:36 — sourate Al-Ma'idah, verset 36

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ لَوۡ أَنَّ لَهُم مَّا فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ جَمِيعٗا وَمِثۡلَهُۥ مَعَهُۥ لِيَفۡتَدُواْ بِهِۦ مِنۡ عَذَابِ يَوۡمِ ٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِ مَا تُقُبِّلَ مِنۡهُمۡۖ وَلَهُمۡ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٞ

Les impies offriraient-ils tous les trésors de la terre, et autant encore, pour échapper aux tourments du Jour de la résurrection, que leur rachat ne serait pas accepté. Ils sont, au contraire, voués à un douloureux châtiment.

Indeed, those who disbelieve - if they should have all that is in the earth and the like of it with it by which to ransom themselves from the punishment of the Day of Resurrection, it will not be accepted from them, and for them is a painful punishment

• Noor International Center (fr): Ceux qui ont mécru, même s’ils avaient en possession tout ce qui est sur terre, et encore autant, pour le payer en rançon et se racheter du supplice du Jour de la Résurrection, tout cela ne serait point accepté de leur part. Et ils auront un supplice très douloureux.
• Hilali & Khan: Verily, those who disbelieve, if they had all that is in the earth, and as much again therewith to ransom themselves thereby from the torment on the Day of Resurrection, it would never be accepted of them, and theirs would be a painful torment.
• Rowwad Translation Center (en): As for those who disbelieved, even if they were to possess everything on earth and the like of it to ransom themselves from the punishment of the Day of Resurrection, it would not be accepted from them, and for them there will be a painful punishment.

Tafsir (explication) de ce verset 5:36

Le péché de la mécréance est tel que même si les mécréants avaient à leur disposition le double de tout ce que contient la Terre et le présentaient à Allah pour s’épargner Son châtiment le Jour de la Résurrection, ce rachat ne serait pas accepté d’eux: ils auront quand même droit à un châtiment douloureux.
