Coran 33:72 — sourate Al-Ahzab, verset 72

إِنَّا عَرَضۡنَا ٱلۡأَمَانَةَ عَلَى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَٱلۡجِبَالِ فَأَبَيۡنَ أَن يَحۡمِلۡنَهَا وَأَشۡفَقۡنَ مِنۡهَا وَحَمَلَهَا ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُۖ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ ظَلُومٗا جَهُولٗا

Nous avons proposé aux cieux, à la terre et aux montagnes d’assumer la grande responsabilité qu’ils ont déclinée par crainte de ne pouvoir l’assumer, contrairement à l’homme qui, par ignorance, l’a acceptée, se montrant injuste envers lui-même.

Indeed, we offered the Trust to the heavens and the earth and the mountains, and they declined to bear it and feared it; but man [undertook to] bear it. Indeed, he was unjust and ignorant

• Noor International Center (fr): Nous avons proposé aux cieux, à la terre et aux montagnes d’assumer la charge (du discernement entre le vrai et le faux), mais ils ont refusé de l’assumer et ont pris peur. L’homme l’a assumée, car il est grandement injuste et si ignorant.
• Hilali & Khan: Truly, We did offer Al-Amânah (the trust or moral responsibility or honesty and all the duties which Allâh has ordained) to the heavens and the earth, and the mountains, but they declined to bear it and were afraid of it (i.e. afraid of Allâh’s Torment). But man bore it. Verily, he was unjust (to himself) and ignorant (of its results).
• Rowwad Translation Center (en): Indeed, We offered the Trust to the heavens, the earth, and the mountains, yet they refused to bear it and were afraid of it. But man assumed it; he is indeed wrongful and ignorant.

Tafsir (explication) de ce verset 33:72

Nous avons proposé les charges religieuses ainsi que tout dépôt, qu'il s'agisse de secrets ou de richesses, aux Cieux, à la Terre et aux montagnes mais ils refusèrent de les assumer car ils en craignaient les conséquences. Or l’être humain accepta d’assumer ces charges et ces dépôts car il est injuste envers lui-même et ignorant de ce qu'ils impliquent.
