Coran 25:45 — sourate Al-Furqan, verset 45

أَلَمۡ تَرَ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ كَيۡفَ مَدَّ ٱلظِّلَّ وَلَوۡ شَآءَ لَجَعَلَهُۥ سَاكِنٗا ثُمَّ جَعَلۡنَا ٱلشَّمۡسَ عَلَيۡهِ دَلِيلٗا

Ne vois-tu pas comment ton Seigneur, par le mouvement du soleil, étend l’ombre qu’Il pourrait tout aussi bien immobiliser,

Have you not considered your Lord - how He extends the shadow, and if He willed, He could have made it stationary? Then We made the sun for it an indication

• Noor International Center (fr): Ne vois-tu pas comment ton Seigneur allonge l’ombre ? Or s’Il le voulait, Il la rendrait immobile. Mais Nous fîmes du soleil son indicateur.
• Hilali & Khan: Have you not seen how your Lord spread the shadow. If He willed, He could have made it still - But We have made the sun its guide (i.e. after the sunrise, the shadow shrinks and vanishes at midnoon and then again appears in the afternoon with the decline of the sun, and had there been no sunlight, there would have been no shadow).
• Rowwad Translation Center (en): Do you not see how your Lord extends the shade? If He had willed, He could have made it still. Then We made the sun an indication of it.

Tafsir (explication) de ce verset 25:45

Ô Messager, n’as-tu pas vu l’ombre qu’Allah étend sur Ses créatures et s’Il voulait qu’elle ne s’allonge pas ni ne diminue, elle ne s’allongerait alors pas et ne diminuerait pas.Puis Nous avons fait en sorte que le Soleil suscite cette ombre et fasse varier sa longueur selon sa position.
