Koran 9:83 — Sure At-Tawbah, Vers 83

فَإِن رَّجَعَكَ ٱللَّهُ إِلَىٰ طَآئِفَةٖ مِّنۡهُمۡ فَٱسۡتَـٔۡذَنُوكَ لِلۡخُرُوجِ فَقُل لَّن تَخۡرُجُواْ مَعِيَ أَبَدٗا وَلَن تُقَٰتِلُواْ مَعِيَ عَدُوًّاۖ إِنَّكُمۡ رَضِيتُم بِٱلۡقُعُودِ أَوَّلَ مَرَّةٖ فَٱقۡعُدُواْ مَعَ ٱلۡخَٰلِفِينَ

Wenn Allah dich zu einem Teil von ihnen zurückkehren läßt und sie dich um Erlaubnis bitten, hinauszuziehen, dann sag: Ihr werdet niemals mit mir hinausziehen, und ihr werdet mit mir gegen keinen Feind kämpfen. Ihr seid (ja) das erste Mal damit zufrieden gewesen, (daheim) sitzen zu bleiben. Bleibt nun (daheim) sitzen mit denen, die zurückbleiben!

If Allah should return you to a faction of them [after the expedition] and then they ask your permission to go out [to battle], say, "You will not go out with me, ever, and you will never fight with me an enemy. Indeed, you were satisfied with sitting [at home] the first time, so sit [now] with those who stay behind

• Rowwad Translation Center (de): Wenn Allah dich nun zu einem Teil von ihnen zurückkehren lässt und sie dich um Erlaubnis bitten, hinauszuziehen, dann sag: „Ihr werdet niemals mit mir hinausziehen, und ihr werdet mit mir gegen keinen Feind kämpfen. Ihr seid (ja) das erste Mal schon mit eurem Sitzenbleiben zufrieden gewesen. So bleibt nun (daheim) mit den Zurückgebliebenen!“
• Hilali & Khan: If Allâh brings you back to a party of them (the hypocrites), and they ask your permission to go out (to fight), say: "Never shall you go out with me nor fight an enemy with me; you were pleased to sit (inactive) on the first occasion, then you sit (now) with those who lag behind."
• Rowwad Translation Center (en): If Allah brings you back to a group of them and they ask your permission to go forth with you, say, “You will never go forth with me, nor will you ever fight an enemy with me. You were content to remain behind the first time, so now stay with those who remained behind.”
