Koran 7:53 — Sure Al-A'raf, Vers 53

هَلۡ يَنظُرُونَ إِلَّا تَأۡوِيلَهُۥۚ يَوۡمَ يَأۡتِي تَأۡوِيلُهُۥ يَقُولُ ٱلَّذِينَ نَسُوهُ مِن قَبۡلُ قَدۡ جَآءَتۡ رُسُلُ رَبِّنَا بِٱلۡحَقِّ فَهَل لَّنَا مِن شُفَعَآءَ فَيَشۡفَعُواْ لَنَآ أَوۡ نُرَدُّ فَنَعۡمَلَ غَيۡرَ ٱلَّذِي كُنَّا نَعۡمَلُۚ قَدۡ خَسِرُوٓاْ أَنفُسَهُمۡ وَضَلَّ عَنۡهُم مَّا كَانُواْ يَفۡتَرُونَ

Erwarten sie (etwas anderes) als seine Deutung? An dem Tag, da seine Deutung eintrifft, werden diejenigen, die es zuvor vergessen haben, sagen: Die Gesandten unseres Herrn sind wirklich mit der Wahrheit gekommen! Haben wir denn Fürsprecher, die für uns Fürsprache einlegen? Oder können wir zurückgebracht werden, daß wir anders handeln, als wir zu handeln pflegten? Sie haben wirklich ihre Seelen verloren, und ihnen ist entschwunden, was sie zu ersinnen pflegten.

Do they await except its result? The Day its result comes those who had ignored it before will say, "The messengers of our Lord had come with the truth, so are there [now] any intercessors to intercede for us or could we be sent back to do other than we used to do?" They will have lost themselves, and lost from them is what they used to invent

Oder können wir zurückgebracht werden, dass wir anders handeln, als wir zu handeln pflegten?“ Sie haben bereits ihre Seelen verloren, und von ihnen ist fortgegangen, was sie zu ersinnen pflegten.
• Hilali & Khan: Await they just for the final fullfilment of the event? On the Day the event is finally fulfilled (i.e. the Day of Resurrection), those who neglected it before will say: "Verily, the Messengers of our Lord did come with the truth, now are there any intercessors for us that they might intercede on our behalf? Or could we be sent back (to the first life of the world) so that we might do (good) deeds other than those (evil) deeds which we used to do?" Verily, they have lost their ownselves (i.e. destroyed themselves) and that which they used to fabricate (invoking and worshipping others besides Allâh) has gone away from them.
• Rowwad Translation Center (en): Are they waiting except for the fulfillment [of its warning]? On the Day when it is fulfilled, those who ignored it before will say, “The messengers of our Lord surely came with the truth. Are there any intercessors who can intercede on our behalf? Or can we be sent back so that we may do other than what we used to do?” In fact, they will have ruined themselves and all that they used to fabricate will be lost from them.
