Koran 46:18 — Sure Al-Ahqaf, Vers 18

أُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ حَقَّ عَلَيۡهِمُ ٱلۡقَوۡلُ فِيٓ أُمَمٖ قَدۡ خَلَتۡ مِن قَبۡلِهِم مِّنَ ٱلۡجِنِّ وَٱلۡإِنسِۖ إِنَّهُمۡ كَانُواْ خَٰسِرِينَ

Das sind diejenigen, gegen die das Wort unvermeidlich fällig geworden war, unter (anderen) Gemeinschaften von den Ginn und den Menschen, die bereits vor ihnen dahingegegangen sind. Gewiß, sie sind ja Verlierer.

Those are the ones upon whom the word has come into effect, [who will be] among nations which had passed on before them of jinn and men. Indeed, they [all] were losers

• Rowwad Translation Center (de): Jene sind es, gegen die das (strafende) Wort unvermeidlich fällig wurde, (zusammen) mit den Gemeinschaften, die - von den Jinn und den Menschen - vor ihnen dahingingen. Wahrlich, sie sind ja Verlierer.
• Hilali & Khan: They are those against whom the Word (of torment) is justified among the previous generations of jinn and mankind that have passed away. Verily, they are ever the losers.
• Rowwad Translation Center (en): Such are those upon whom the punishment has become binding, as happened to communities of Jinn and men before them, for they were truly losers.
