Koran 40:56 — Sure Ghafir, Vers 56

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يُجَٰدِلُونَ فِيٓ ءَايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ بِغَيۡرِ سُلۡطَٰنٍ أَتَىٰهُمۡ إِن فِي صُدُورِهِمۡ إِلَّا كِبۡرٞ مَّا هُم بِبَٰلِغِيهِۚ فَٱسۡتَعِذۡ بِٱللَّهِۖ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلۡبَصِيرُ

Gewiß, diejenigen, die über Allahs Zeichen streiten, ohne daß sie eine Ermächtigung erhalten hätten, haben in ihren Brüsten nur Neid (auf das), was sie nicht erreichen werden können. So suche Zuflucht bei Allah, denn Er ist der Allhörende und Allsehende.

Indeed, those who dispute concerning the signs of Allah without [any] authority having come to them - there is not within their breasts except pride, [the extent of] which they cannot reach. So seek refuge in Allah. Indeed, it is He who is the Hearing, the Seeing

• Rowwad Translation Center (de): Wahrlich, diejenigen, die über die Zeichen Allahs streiten, ohne dass sie eine Ermächtigung erhalten hätten, haben in ihren Brüsten nur Neid (auf das), was sie nicht erreichen werden können. So suche Zuflucht bei Allah, denn Er ist der Allhörende und der Allsehende.
• Hilali & Khan: Verily those who dispute about the Ayât (proofs, evidence, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) of Allâh, without any authority having come to them, there is nothing else in their breasts except pride [to accept you (Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) as a Messenger of Allâh and to obey you]. They will never have it (i.e. Prophethood which Allâh has bestowed upon you). So seek refuge in Allâh (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم from the arrogants). Verily, it is He Who is the All-Hearer, the All-Seer.
• Rowwad Translation Center (en): Those who argue against the verses of Allah without any proof given to them, there is nothing in their hearts but a quest for dominance which they will never attain. So seek refuge with Allah, for He is the All-Hearing, the All-Seeing.
