Koran 3:23 — Sure Ali 'Imran, Vers 23

أَلَمۡ تَرَ إِلَى ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُواْ نَصِيبٗا مِّنَ ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ يُدۡعَوۡنَ إِلَىٰ كِتَٰبِ ٱللَّهِ لِيَحۡكُمَ بَيۡنَهُمۡ ثُمَّ يَتَوَلَّىٰ فَرِيقٞ مِّنۡهُمۡ وَهُم مُّعۡرِضُونَ

Siehst du nicht jene, denen ein Teil der Schrift gegeben wurde? Sie werden zum Buch Allahs aufgefordert, damit es zwischen ihnen richte. Hierauf kehrt sich eine Gruppe von ihnen ab, und sie sind Widerstrebende.

Do you not consider, [O Muhammad], those who were given a portion of the Scripture? They are invited to the Scripture of Allah that it should arbitrate between them; then a party of them turns away, and they are refusing

• Hilali & Khan: Have you not seen those who have been given a portion of the Scripture? They are being invited to the Book of Allâh to settle their dispute, then a party of them turn away, and they are averse.
• Rowwad Translation Center (en): Have you not considered those who were given a portion of the Scripture? They are invited to the Book of Allah to judge between them, and then a group of them turns away in aversion.
