Koran 16:112 — Sure An-Nahl, Vers 112

وَضَرَبَ ٱللَّهُ مَثَلٗا قَرۡيَةٗ كَانَتۡ ءَامِنَةٗ مُّطۡمَئِنَّةٗ يَأۡتِيهَا رِزۡقُهَا رَغَدٗا مِّن كُلِّ مَكَانٖ فَكَفَرَتۡ بِأَنۡعُمِ ٱللَّهِ فَأَذَٰقَهَا ٱللَّهُ لِبَاسَ ٱلۡجُوعِ وَٱلۡخَوۡفِ بِمَا كَانُواْ يَصۡنَعُونَ

Allah prägt das Gleichnis einer Stadt, die Sicherheit und Ruhe genoß; ihre Versorgung kam zu ihr reichlich von überall her. Da wurde sie gegenüber den Gnaden Allahs undankbar. So ließ sie Allah das Kleid des Hungers und der Angst erleiden für das, was sie machten.

And Allah presents an example: a city which was safe and secure, its provision coming to it in abundance from every location, but it denied the favors of Allah. So Allah made it taste the envelopment of hunger and fear for what they had been doing

• Rowwad Translation Center (de): Und Allah führt das Gleichnis einer Ortschaft an, die in Sicherheit und Ruhe lebte. Ihre Versorgung kam zu ihr reichlich von überall her. Da wurde sie gegenüber den Gunsterweisungen Allahs undankbar. So ließ sie Allah das Kleid des Hungers und der Angst erleiden für das, was sie machten.
• Hilali & Khan: And Allâh puts forward the example of a township (Makkah), that dwelt secure and well-content: its provision coming to it in abundance from every place, but it (its people) denied the Favours of Allâh (with ungratefulness). So Allâh made it taste extreme of hunger (famine) and fear, because of that (evil, i.e. denying Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه و سلم) which they (its people) used to do.
• Rowwad Translation Center (en): Allah presents an example of a town that was safe and secure, receiving its provision in abundance from all directions. Yet its people showed ingratitude to Allah’s favors, so Allah made them taste overwhelming hunger and fear for what they used to do.
