Ash-Sharh 94:1

أَلَمۡ نَشۡرَحۡ لَكَ صَدۡرَكَ

Did We not expand for you, [O Muhammad], your breast

Tafsir 94:1

Verily, Allah has opened up your heart for you and made receiving revelation beloved to you.

Ash-Sharh 94:2

وَوَضَعۡنَا عَنكَ وِزۡرَكَ

And We removed from you your burden

Tafsir 94:2

And I have removed sin from you.

Ash-Sharh 94:3

ٱلَّذِيٓ أَنقَضَ ظَهۡرَكَ

Which had weighed upon your back

Tafsir 94:3

That which was burdening you to the extent that it almost broke your back.

Ash-Sharh 94:4

وَرَفَعۡنَا لَكَ ذِكۡرَكَ

And raised high for you your repute

Tafsir 94:4

And I elevated for you your mention, so you are now remembered in the call to prayer, and the call preceding the prayer, and at other times.

Ash-Sharh 94:5

فَإِنَّ مَعَ ٱلۡعُسۡرِ يُسۡرًا

For indeed, with hardship [will be] ease

Tafsir 94:5

Indeed, with difficulty and constraint, comes ease and options.

Ash-Sharh 94:6

إِنَّ مَعَ ٱلۡعُسۡرِ يُسۡرٗا

Indeed, with hardship [will be] ease

Tafsir 94:6

Indeed, with difficulty and constraint, comes ease and options; when you know that well, the troubling of your people will not terrify you and will not stop you from calling towards Allah.

Ash-Sharh 94:7

فَإِذَا فَرَغۡتَ فَٱنصَبۡ

So when you have finished [your duties], then stand up [for worship]

Tafsir 94:7

So when you finish your work and complete it, strive in the worship of your Lord.

Ash-Sharh 94:8

وَإِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ فَٱرۡغَب

And to your Lord direct [your] longing

Tafsir 94:8

And divert your passion and resolve towards Allah alone.
