Koran 9:25 — soera At-Tawbah, vers 25

لَقَدۡ نَصَرَكُمُ ٱللَّهُ فِي مَوَاطِنَ كَثِيرَةٖ وَيَوۡمَ حُنَيۡنٍ إِذۡ أَعۡجَبَتۡكُمۡ كَثۡرَتُكُمۡ فَلَمۡ تُغۡنِ عَنكُمۡ شَيۡـٔٗا وَضَاقَتۡ عَلَيۡكُمُ ٱلۡأَرۡضُ بِمَا رَحُبَتۡ ثُمَّ وَلَّيۡتُم مُّدۡبِرِينَ

Zeker, Allah heeft jullie de overwinning op vele (doorslaggevende) veldslagen gegeven, alsook op de dag van Hoenayn, toen jullie verheugd waren over jullie grote aantallen (nl. 12.000 strijders) maar deze (overmacht) was hen niet van nut (vanwege hun blakend zelfvertrouwen). En de aarde, zo groot als het was, sloot jullie in (totdat het jullie te benauwd werd), waardoor jullie (het slagveld) de rug toekeerden en op de vlucht sloegen (voor de minder talrijke vijand).

Allah has already given you victory in many regions and [even] on the day of Hunayn, when your great number pleased you, but it did not avail you at all, and the earth was confining for you with its vastness; then you turned back, fleeing
