Koran 8:52 — soera Al-Anfal, vers 52

كَدَأۡبِ ءَالِ فِرۡعَوۡنَ وَٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبۡلِهِمۡۚ كَفَرُواْ بِـَٔايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ فَأَخَذَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ بِذُنُوبِهِمۡۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ قَوِيّٞ شَدِيدُ ٱلۡعِقَابِ

(Hun gedrag is) gelijk aan het gedrag van de mensen van de Farao en van degenen vóór hen, zij verwierpen de tekenen van Allah, dus strafte Allah hen voor hun zonden. Waarlijk, Allah is het sterkste, streng in de bestraffing.

[Theirs is] like the custom of the people of Pharaoh and of those before them. They disbelieved in the signs of Allah, so Allah seized them for their sins. Indeed, Allah is Powerful and severe in penalty
