Koran 6:23 — soera Al-An'am, vers 23

ثُمَّ لَمۡ تَكُن فِتۡنَتُهُمۡ إِلَّآ أَن قَالُواْ وَٱللَّهِ رَبِّنَا مَا كُنَّا مُشۡرِكِينَ

Er zal dan geen andere verontschuldiging (over zijn) voor hen dan te zeggen: “Bij Allah, onze Heer, wij waren niet degenen die deelgenoten aan Allah in de aanbidding toekenden.”

Then there will be no [excuse upon] examination except they will say, "By Allah, our Lord, we were not those who associated

• Hilali & Khan: There will then be (left) no Fitnah (excuses or statements or arguments) for them but to say: "By Allâh, our Lord, we were not those who joined others in worship with Allâh."
