Koran 58:10 — soera Al-Mujadila, vers 10

إِنَّمَا ٱلنَّجۡوَىٰ مِنَ ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنِ لِيَحۡزُنَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَلَيۡسَ بِضَآرِّهِمۡ شَيۡـًٔا إِلَّا بِإِذۡنِ ٱللَّهِۚ وَعَلَى ٱللَّهِ فَلۡيَتَوَكَّلِ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنُونَ

Het voeren van slechte geheimelijke gesprekken is (onderdeel) van Shaytaan (zijn misleiding) om bij de gelovigen verdriet te veroorzaken. Maar hij kan hen niet in het minst kwetsen, behalve als Allah het toestaat (met Zijn wijsheid) en in Allah leggen de gelovigen hun vertrouwen.

Private conversation is only from Satan that he may grieve those who have believed, but he will not harm them at all except by permission of Allah. And upon Allah let the believers rely

• Hilali & Khan: Secret counsels (conspiracies) are only from Shaitân (Satan), in order that he may cause grief to the believers. But he cannot harm them in the least, except as Allâh permits. And in Allâh let the believers put their trust.
• Rowwad Translation Center (en): Secret talks are only prompted by Satan to grieve the believers, but he cannot harm them in the least except with Allah’s permission. So let the believers put their trust in Allah.
