Koran 4:73 — soera An-Nisa, vers 73

وَلَئِنۡ أَصَٰبَكُمۡ فَضۡلٞ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ لَيَقُولَنَّ كَأَن لَّمۡ تَكُنۢ بَيۡنَكُمۡ وَبَيۡنَهُۥ مَوَدَّةٞ يَٰلَيۡتَنِي كُنتُ مَعَهُمۡ فَأَفُوزَ فَوۡزًا عَظِيمٗا

Maar als een overvloed tot jullie van Allah komt, zou hij zeker zeggen – alsof er nooit vriendschapsbanden tussen jullie en hem bestonden – “O, ik wenste dat ik bij hen was; dan zou ik een groot succes hebben behaald.”

But if bounty comes to you from Allah, he will surely say, as if there had never been between you and him any affection. "Oh, I wish I had been with them so I could have attained a great attainment

• Hilali & Khan: But if a bounty (victory and booty) comes to you from Allâh, he would surely say - as if there had never been ties of affection between you and him - "Oh! I wish I had been with them; then I would have achieved a great success (a good share of booty)."
• Rowwad Translation Center (en): But if some bounty comes to you from Allah, he will surely say – as if there had never been any affection between you and him – “Oh, I wish I had been with them, so I could have made a great gain.”
