Koran 31:7 — soera Luqman, vers 7

وَإِذَا تُتۡلَىٰ عَلَيۡهِ ءَايَٰتُنَا وَلَّىٰ مُسۡتَكۡبِرٗا كَأَن لَّمۡ يَسۡمَعۡهَا كَأَنَّ فِيٓ أُذُنَيۡهِ وَقۡرٗاۖ فَبَشِّرۡهُ بِعَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ

En als Onze verzen aan zo iemand gereciteerd wordt, keert hij zich trots af, alsof hij ze niet hoort, alsof er doofheid in zijn oor is. Verkondig dus aan hem een pijnlijke bestraffing.

And when our verses are recited to him, he turns away arrogantly as if he had not heard them, as if there was in his ears deafness. So give him tidings of a painful punishment
