Koran 30:57 — soera Ar-Rum, vers 57

فَيَوۡمَئِذٖ لَّا يَنفَعُ ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُواْ مَعۡذِرَتُهُمۡ وَلَا هُمۡ يُسۡتَعۡتَبُونَ

Op die Dag zal er voor degenen die zondigden dus geen verontschuldiging bestaan, noch zal het hen toegestaan zijn om terug te keren om Allahs genoegen te zoeken.

So that Day, their excuse will not benefit those who wronged, nor will they be asked to appease [Allah]

• Hilali & Khan: So on that Day no excuse of theirs will avail those who did wrong (by associating partners in worship with Allâh, and by denying the Day of Resurrection), nor will they be allowed (then) to return to seek Allâh’s Pleasure (by having Islâmic Faith with righteous deeds and by giving up polytheism, sins and crimes with repentance).
• Rowwad Translation Center (en): On that Day, no excuse will benefit the wrongdoers, nor will they be allowed to make amends.
