Koran 30:32 — soera Ar-Rum, vers 32

مِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ فَرَّقُواْ دِينَهُمۡ وَكَانُواْ شِيَعٗاۖ كُلُّ حِزۡبِۭ بِمَا لَدَيۡهِمۡ فَرِحُونَ

Van degenen die hun godsdienst opsplitsen en tot een sekte gaan behoren, iedere sekte verheugt zich met wat het heeft.

[Or] of those who have divided their religion and become sects, every faction rejoicing in what it has

• Hilali & Khan: Of those who split up their religion (i.e. who left the true Islâmic Monotheism), and became sects, [i.e. they invented new things in the religion (Bid‘ah ), and followed their vain desires], each sect rejoicing in that which is with it.
